Los Angeles has no shortage of galas, movie premieres, and red carpet events this time of year, but Bulgari's soirée last night undoubtedly takes the cake as the most glamorous party of the season. In celebration of its Polychroma High Jewelry collection, the Italian house took over Fox Studios to host an extremely elegant dinner. Kirsten Dunst, Viola Davis, Jon Hamm, and Idina Menzel were among the A-list attendees.

Davis wore my favorite jewels of the night. With a sleek black gown, the EGOT winner wore a Bulgari High Jewelry necklace in pink gold with round and pavé-set diamonds, a cushion spinel of nearly 15 carats, and cushion emeralds of more than 23 carats. How's that for dazzling?

Controversial statement: You can actually get away with wearing a white dress to a wedding, with caveats. It appears that Kirsten Dunst, for one, is on board. Over the weekend, Dunst attended the wedding of her longtime friend (and former assistant), stylist Liat Baruch. For the occasion, she wore what was technically a white dress. As we all know, the number one wedding guest outfit faux pas is wearing white, but Dunst just proved that you can get away with it—if it's the type of white dress she just wore.

The dress in question is a printed white dress. Personally, I'd go for one with a relatively bold and colorful print, as Dunst did, that couldn't be mistaken for a dress a bride would get married in in the least. Dunst opted for a ruffled Rodarte dress with pretty yellow flowers. (It's worth noting that she also wore the dress to the 25th anniversary celebration of The Virgin Suicides a couple of weeks ago, which is when the second photo below was taken.)

I'm sure many out there would argue that you should always avoid wearing any dress that's predominantly white to a wedding, but I do see quite a few instances of people wearing dresses with white backgrounds (typically with a floral print) to weddings. As a former bride, it wouldn't have bothered me, but I suppose everyone's preferences for their guests' attire are different, so when in doubt, check with the bride first.

What you see celebrities wear in Los Angeles is not always congruous with everyday residents' outfits. Public figures are keenly aware of the fact that they might be photographed when they leave the house, so they often dress accordingly. We regular folks, on the other hand, don't have to worry about that. But when I saw what Kirsten Dunst wore for a shopping trip on Melrose Place in West Hollywood, it struck me that it was exactly in line with what locals would wear for the same occasion (myself included). Granted, her outfit happened to be comprised of designer pieces, but they are items that can easily be found at a variety of price points.

Dunst styled her striped tee and corduroy pants, both by The Row, with a red Louis Vuitton shoulder bag and vintage white Chanel sandals. Whenever I venture out in West Hollywood, I see women wearing similar white strappy sandals with thick straps (year-round, I might add). While minimalist sandals with ultra-thin straps have been trending for a while, it's no secret that they're not the most comfortable option out there. Thicker straps are much more conducive to shopping on Melrose Place—after all, you'll probably have to hike back to your parking spot if you weren't one of the lucky few to nab a spot on the popular block. Congratulations to Kirsten Dunst! As E! News reports, the actress welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with fiancé Jesse Plemons this past weekend. Dunst confirmed her pregnancy back in January without saying a word—she was simply captured cradling her baby bump in a series of serene photographs for Rodarte's fall/winter 2018 look book.

Today, a pregnant Kirsten Dunst is putting the rumors to rest that she and fiancé Jesse Plemons are starting a family. The actress had the most incredible reveal where she is photographed in an ethereal shot holding her baby bump.
