Millennials will remember the golden age of celebrity fragrances in the early to mid-2000s. Back then, it seemed like every It girl or guy had a signature scent they sold to the masses. Jennifer Lopez launched Glow in 2002. In 2004, Britney Spears launched Curious, and Paris Hilton launched her first eponymous elixir. In the mid-aughts, celebs like Taylor Swift (Wonderstruck), Beyoncé (Heat), Justin Bieber (Someday), and One Direction (Our Moment) joined in on the trend with their own fragrances.

Somewhere along the way, though, celeb fragrance began to die out. Arguably, it was when A-listers decided to launch entire beauty brands, but that's a topic for another day. Blame it on my nostalgic nature, but I miss celebrity fragrances. Some say they're kitschy; I say they're fun, collectible, and surprising compliment-earners.

That's the case with Khloé Kardashian's newest fragrance, XO Blue, which launched earlier this month. The reality TV star, businesswoman, and pop-culture icon already had two other fragrances on the market, but this was her first seasonal offering. Formulated to smell like "sun on your skin, warm ocean air," and "crystal-clear waters," it's a summery and sophisticated scent that led me back into the celebrity fragrance world for the first time in over a decade. After wearing it for a week, I can attest to its compliment-earning potential.

Fragrance notes: Bergamot essence, lychee, ambrette, solar amber, magnolia petals, frangipani petals, woody coconut, cedarwood essence

XO Blue is a solar scent, a category of perfumes that evokes the warmth of the sun. It achieves this through a sophisticated combination of warm, tropical, and smooth notes. Think amber, frangipani flower, and coconut.

While I'd definitely categorize it as a vacation scent, it's not overly simplistic, citrusy, or sunscreen-like. It's actually incredibly sophisticated and almost a little bit spicy. I think that has everything to do with the notes of bergamot, ambrette, magnolia, and cedarwood. Apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks so. I've been wearing it for a week, and I've already had three people compliment me and/or ask what perfume I was wearing.

The first was my sister, who exclaimed, "What is that? You smell amazing," when I walked past her. The second was a friend who said, "You smell really good." The third was a total stranger who stopped me in a local coffee shop: "Sorry to bother you, but what perfume are you wearing?" That, dear reader, is when you know you've stumbled upon something really, really good. After all, strangers don't just stop you in public for any old perfume.

XO Blue has officially joined my lineup of summer scents. Right now, it's sitting on my vanity next to my other favorite fragrances, including Phlur's Island Swim ($39), The 7 Virtues' Coconut Sun ($94), and Jo Malone's Beach Blossom ($175).

Khloé Kardashian understands the power of a good hair product. She's been in the public eye since Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered in 2007. (Back then, she would spend $25 on weekly blowouts at the walk-in hair salon across the street from the West Hollywood Dash store.) Since then, she's experimented with countless hair looks—blonde, brunette, straight, curly, long, short, and everything in between. She's had her hair styled for premieres, red carpets, and all kinds of appearances. She's worn extensions, let her strands soak in hair dye, and dealt with damage. Through it all, she's relied on the same brand to care for her hair at home: It's a 10.

The brand's recognizable bottles have stood on shelves since 2006. Founder and CEO Carolyn Aronson created the brand based on her expertise as a professional hairstylist. This year, the brand is celebrating its 20th anniversary, launching a packaging rebrand (coming in summer 2026), and naming Kardashian as its first global ambassador. Aronson calls it a natural choice, and Kardashian calls it kismet. Whatever it is, I was lucky enough to speak to Kardashian about the partnership, her haircare routine, and the ever-changing aesthetics she's embraced throughout the years. Ahead, read the exclusive interview.

"I get offers to do things quite often," Kardashian says. "I like to keep things that make sense and that I can talk about from the heart and not necessarily have to memorize something. When It's a 10 Haircare came to me, I was like, 'I love this product.' I use it on [my daughter] True." In fact, she says it's always been in her beauty cabinet. "If you came over and you opened it up, you'd see I've been using some of their products for years and years," she says.

Aronson agrees that it was a natural, almost obvious choice to enlist Kardashian as her brand's first-ever global ambassador. "I think Khloé has evolved just as It's a 10 Haircare has evolved," she says. She notes that the Kardashians are about to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original show, which, I admit, seems like a fateful parallel between the brand and its new ambassador. "It's a 10 Haircare is the people's brand. It's for you, by you," Aronson continues. "It's prestige for the masses. To me, that's what Khloé and the Kardashians are about as well. We're all evolving. We're 20 years old, but I really feel like we're just beginning."

Kardashian says the brand played an important role in her hair journey long before her global ambassadorship was on the table. "My natural texture is curly," she says. "Curly hair has always been something that I've had to learn how to manage because no one in my family really had curly hair. With that, I've probably put my hair through more damage than the rest of my siblings because I did so many experimental things. We also do so much glam, and [the hairstylists] are really good at it, but learning how to keep the integrity and strength of your hair and use products that are actually supporting it makes such a key difference."

While it's easy to assume celebrities only use the most expensive beauty products, Kardashian says that's not accurate—at least not for her. She's proud to use affordable products and isn't one to shy away from a DIY beauty treatment. "If I want to do a conditioning mask, it can be something like mayonnaise, honey, or eggs," she says. "It doesn't have to always be expensive. The price doesn't matter as much as the performance does, and [It's a 10's] performance, the 20-year history, the endless reviews you're going to see, those don't lie."

She cites Instagram and TikTok as proof that price and performance aren't mutually exclusive. "What I love about Instagram and TikTok sleuths these days is that they will take a very expensive brand, and they will discover that it's owned by the same, less-expensive brand," she says. "Or they'll tell you all the ingredients and be like, 'If you don't want to spend $120 on a conditioner, the same formula is available in this less-expensive option.' It's so silly. It's PR and branding. So yeah, one more time: Price doesn't really matter."

When she's off duty and out of the glam chair, Kardashian says she's leaving her hair alone and away from heat in a bid to keep it healthy. "I love not touching it, washing it, any of that. When I don't have my extensions in, like when my hair is my short bob, I love putting conditioner treatments in it, slicking it back, wearing a bun or a beanie or whatever, and just letting it hydrate and relax. I feel like we are constantly doing so much. It could be body, hair, face, whatever. It's sometimes good just to chill and keep it simple," she says. When I ask what product she reaches for on these days, she's quick to answer: It's a 10's Miracle Leave-In Product. "That's the one that my stylists were using, and that's the first one that I've ever used. And now, I use that on my daughter, True. I love that it works for all different hair types and textures. It detangles, smooths, protects from heat, and all that kind of stuff. It's been a product that's always in my bathroom drawer," she explains.

The Miracle Leave-In Product is the brand's best-selling product. Aronson tells me she now offers a whopping 11 variations of it, and each one is distilled with her 43 years of professional hairstyling experience. "When I stood behind the chair, there were certain products that I called golden formulas. Twenty, 30, 40 years later, they're still hot, and people try to duplicate them, but they're still the best," she says. "No one can knock them off their pedestal. That's what the Miracle Leave-In is. At the time, I was looking for something that could do multiple things in one bottle. As hairdressers, we would concoct. We would layer. One bottle wouldn't do it all. I wanted it to do it all, and I really believe it does. It brings amazing body to your hair, detangles, boosts shine—so many attributes. It brings your hair to a condition where you feel like you just walked out of the salon, no matter what. The initial mindset was to create an extremely multifunctional product that would create this full-of-life, healthy head of hair. With healthy hair, you can do anything."

Kardashian agrees. She tells me she's focusing on improving and maintaining hair health after years of undergoing harsh styling, treatments, and color switch-ups. When I ask how her aesthetic has changed since 2006, she laughs. "In 2006, I was going to Fantastic Sams for a blowout once a week," she says. "I know that because, my first season of Keeping Up [With the Kardashians], that's what I did. It was across the street from Dash, and it was all I could do, a weekly blowout for 25 bucks. It was great."

I ask her to cut to 10 years later and describe her 2016 aesthetic. She reminisces about the on-trend hair color of the time. "I might be a year or two off, but I think I'm accurate. I was big into the ombré hair," she says. "I'm almost positive. I loved it. Everyone was into that."

Now, in 2026, Kardashian isn't going to stop embracing change or experimenting with her hair. "I'm not afraid of being a chameleon," she says. "I love that I go from short to long to slicked to a bouncy blowout to curly, and I love that no one really blinks twice at me because they're so used to me being versatile. That makes me happy and proud all at the same time."

Up next, we're getting to know brand founder and pop culture icon Khloé Kardashian, who just launched her newest fragrance, Almost Always. Below, she's answering all of our rapid-fire questions, reminiscing about the first designer fragrance she ever wore, and more. Enjoy!

What is your first fragrance memory? Is there a scent your mom or your sisters wear that brings you back to a specific time or era of your life?

That's a good question. I'm almost positive she still uses this body lotion. … My mom has used a specific body lotion since I was a child, and it's not by a brand. It's by a woman who makes the body lotion, and my mom picks the scent. I think it's like China Rain or something like that. It's so identifiably my mom. I actually have a bottle more for nostalgic purposes, but I'm into retinol body lotion these days.

I love that. Growing up, my mom wore a very specific perfume. It was Karl Lagerfeld's Chloé era—the 1975 fragrance. I have a bottle on my vanity, and I don't even wear it. It's just to smell every now and then.

I've asked my sisters, but no one really remembers because we were young when my dad passed away, but I wish we knew what he wore because that would be the dream to have it. You're so lucky to have that.

It's discontinued now, so I bought a bottle on eBay for way too much money, but it's worth it. I will die on this hill as a beauty editor, but I just think scent is so powerful and can take you right back to a certain time, place, or person.

I agree with you so much.

Do you remember the first fragrance you ever bought yourself as a teenager? Was there a certain fragrance at the department store that you were just obsessed with?

I feel like everyone was obsessed with this: I bought Thierry Mugler Angel when I was a teenager. It's so heavy, but it was so identifiably junior high for me. I have not smelled it on me anytime recently, but if I smell it on someone else, I just instantly know the scent. You're right. Speaking to what you were just talking about, if I get a whiff of it, I'm back to, I don't know, perusing the mall. I can see myself at 13 years old. I probably wore way too much, but you just want to be cool and wear a fragrance. That's the first one that comes to mind.

That is such an iconic scent. I think everyone wanted to wear it. It was the cool-girl fragrance at the time.

I was not the cool girl, but that's probably why I wanted to do it. You're so right. You're like, "Oh, if I wear this, maybe I'll be cool."

That's junior high in a nutshell. Speaking of iconic fragrances, I love that celebrity fragrances are having a moment right now because they're so nostalgic for me. I'll just say I was obsessed with Britney Spears's perfumes back in the day. What made you want to create your own scent, and what were you inspired by?

I had a tough time in my 30s. It's so weird because when we first started in the public eye, if you will, I used to do a lot of things on my own, or I used to take a lot of risks and do a lot of things. I definitely lost a lot of my confidence in my 30s, and then I was going to therapy. I'm going to get really not beauty-related for a second. I started going to therapy and really working on myself and wondering, How did I become this person that's afraid to even do one thing on my own? I was more afraid of if it didn't work out or the rejection or what everyone's going to think—things that didn't used to scare me before.

That's a part of life, the failures and learning what sticks and what's for you. I really made a conscious effort in my 40s. I'm going to push myself to do things that I know I can do, and I know I have the passion to do it. I just didn't have the balls to do it, really, so around 38 or so, I intentionally sought out creating a fragrance because I wanted to. I was just too scared to for a few years. It wasn't planned because I didn't know how long it took to create a fragrance. It took about two years, and it just so happened that when I turned 40 it was also the launch of XO Khloé. It was kismet. It really was meant to be for me. I was so scared, and I was so intimidated, but I had to do it for me.

It wasn't inspired by anyone else. It was always something I wanted to do. I was just too afraid to do it. It wasn't even that I expected it to do much of anything. I just had to do something from start to finish and prove to myself that I can do this. I'm not going to die if it doesn't do well. It's okay to put yourself out there. The easiest thing in life is to be complacent and to not push yourself and not do things that scare you. I really didn't want to be that person anymore, and I want to do something that was on my own in the beauty world. It was something I'd thought about for a long time, so I did it, and it was amazing. I love that I did it. … With every fragrance that I launch, I'm getting more and more confident. It's sort of cheesy because I am in my 40s, but I'm getting more proud of myself. I'm like, "Khloé, see, you could do it, and all you had to do was trust yourself." It was just something I really wanted and needed to do for me and the evolution of me.

That speaks to me. I just turned 30 this year, and I didn't expect to feel how I do. Life is a constant evolution, and there are just lessons you have to learn, no matter your age. It's humbling!

This was the first decade I've walked into that I thought so hard about in an intentional, good way. I was not afraid to turn 40. In fact, I was so excited. I needed a fresh start. I know there's so much more to me. I think in my 30s… and not your 30s! These were my 30s, so I don't want you to get discouraged. But I had a tougher time with life. People make you feel like if you don't have it figured out in your 30s, you're just done, and there's no hope or turning back.

I started my podcast in my 40s too. I met and interviewed Mel Robbins, and she was like, "Oh my gosh, I went bankrupt in my 40s and this and this." People don't tell you how much failure happens. The pressure of these decades that we put on ourselves! As long as we're trying, doing our best, and putting one foot in front of the other—trying to have blinders on so we stop comparing ourselves to other people in the same decade—that deserves applause in and of itself.

I think everyone experiences it to a certain extent, but since you're in the public eye, everyone has a front-row seat to your evolution, starting with Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Has your approach to beauty changed throughout the decades?

Oh, for sure, and I want it to. You know what I mean? I'm a creature of habit, so it's hard for me to try new things, but I also love that I do. I could be a one-trick pony with how I know how to do my makeup, but let's try to watch a few YouTube videos and not do a smoky eye every time or whatever. It could be superficial. Now in my 40s, I like a retinol body lotion or sunscreen on my face and hands—things I might not have thought about in my 20s. There are things that come with evolution, with aging, with growing. I love the wisdom. I'm not afraid of age. I think it's such a beautiful experience.

Growing up in the public eye, I got a nose job, and people were like, "Oh, she doesn't love herself." It's like, "No, I love myself. I just wanted to tweak something, but I love myself." That's just how I felt. So many people who aren't in the public eye might do something, and they don't get torn apart for those decisions. I'm still just a person. There are just more eyes on me, and people are able to comment on things that they can't for other people. Sometimes, it's hard to feel free to try things because you have more pressure—if you make a mistake or do something that doesn't fit the mold for somebody else. Sometimes, I'm probably not trying as many things as maybe I would if I weren't in the public eye.

That's understandable. I would be the exact same way! You mentioned retinol body lotion. Is there one in particular you like, or do you rotate?

I rotate. I have three or four, and for no rhyme or reason. I think I just googled "popular retinol body lotion." I'm a believer that if I use the same skincare product too much, my body gets used to it. I have three or four in my drawer, and I just rotate. It could be the placebo effect, but I swear it works.

You keep your skin on its toes. Are there any other beauty tricks or tips you learned from your family members?

My mom was always so great at teaching us how to care for ourselves at such a young age. It wasn't about the vanity of it; it was really about the hygiene of it and making sure we were well-groomed, if you will. It could be as simple as how to wash your body. You have to teach children some of these things, right?

I've always really been so appreciative of the things my mom has taught me. It was the little things, not facials or anything like that. She would always say to take a hot washcloth and rub it on your face for exfoliation—even just hydrating and hydrating from the inside out.

That segues perfectly into my next question. In your experience as a mother, what are a few ways you carve out time for yourself or maybe indulge in rituals to make yourself feel good on really busy days?

The thing that makes me feel good every day is my gym session. That's a nonnegotiable. I want to hit four days a week. I find that if I wake up at 4 a.m. to get to the gym, I'll get there. That makes me feel good, and I feel like I glow from the inside out. I wish I were better at, like, getting a massage or getting a facial or something, but I always feel like I have to entertain people. If I'm getting a massage, I'm like, "Okay over there? Do you need a water?" I can't handle it, so it's not that relaxing. I love a good sheet mask, or I'll take a bubble bath when I can—normally when the kids are asleep. Those are more my little moments.

With True, first of all, the toothbrushing thing is the most stressful thing on the entire planet. It's always a negotiation. I'm like, "They're your teeth! Let's just clean them!" It's a whole thing. Yeah, I think toothbrushing is a universal headache for all adults to teach children.

Oh, for sure. How has motherhood affected your approach to beauty?

I try not to make beauty a huge thing with my daughter because she's 7 and a half. She loves skincare products, but that is sunscreen or a lotion. She loves face mist, which is cucumber water. She loves that, and she feels like that's everything in the world. Those are fine, but I don't want her to have any obsession or to think that we need these things to be beautiful. I teach her we need these things just to keep our body hydrated. She likes little lip oils—stuff like that. I try to keep everything very age appropriate with her. I focus on like, "We wear sunscreen to protect ourselves," but it's not for a beauty perspective. I also try to not do a lot of beauty things around them just because I don't like what message that sends. That's just my personal choice.

Totally. I think the internet changed the way we approach beauty and can foster so much comparison and everything from such a young age.

It's horrible. [True] has beautiful curly hair, so I have to do moisturizing treatments. We do do beauty treatments, but she knows it's to take care of her body and her hair. I'm not like, "Do this for beautiful, bouncy curls." She already has them regardless, right? This is just to keep the integrity of everything. We don't really like to talk about it. They're just routines, if you know what I mean.

Absolutely. Finally, what's your unfiltered beauty philosophy in seven words or less?

That's a great question. My sentiment behind Almost Always is that perfection is never the goal. So maybe it's that. Perfection is never the goal.

If I'm doing [my daughter's] hair and getting frustrated, she'll be like, "Mommy, you say there's no such thing as perfect." Sometimes, I need that reminder. We all want to hit this level of perfection, but who's deciding what's perfect anyways? I think it's this game. We're always going to be in this race with ourselves. If only we just could sit back. My mom is so funny. Okay, this is a little crazy, but I have a gym at my house, and she shares it with me because she lives right next door. She'll be like, "I hope you're taking a lot of nude photos with that body because in 10 years you might not have it." And I'm like, "What? Mom, no." She's like, "Khloé, you look so good."

I'll always say I just don't like my stomach. I'll always have something that I'm nitpicking apart, and she'll be like, "In five years, you're going to wish you looked how you do right now." And she's not wrong. We're always wanting more and more and more, as opposed to just being so grateful with what we have right now. I'm a victim of it. I'm not saying I'm above it at all, but I try to remind myself that perfection is not the goal. I think just existing is the goal. We can be the best version of ourselves, and we should strive for that. I think we all need to get it into our heads that we can strive for greatness or whatever we want our goals to be, but it should never be perfection.​​

After you dip your brush in loose powder, press it into the palm of your hand before applying it to the skin. This will give you that soft-matte finish without excess powder left behind.

I associate each season with a certain beauty aesthetic. For winter, it's full-coverage foundations and bold lipstick. For spring, it's pink blush and pastel nail colors. 1. Lilac Liner

Bright, colourful eyeliner has long since been one of my favourite ways to express my makeup creativity—especially for summer. Paired with bronzed skin and a neutral lip, it really is *chef's kiss*. However, if the idea of using a coloured liner is not really within your comfort zone, take your cue from Ms Bieber and experiment with the trend using a muted shade, such as lilac or baby pink. This pale shimmering purple is super subtle but instantly eye brightening. 

Keep the rest of your makeup fairly muted and neutral to allow the liner to take centrestage—a tinted lip balm, just a touch of blusher and bronzer, and a clear brow gel are all you need to complete this look.

2. Draped Blush

It's official, 2023 really is the year of blusher—as proven here by Lizzo in a look that is all about the cheeks. You may have already heard of blush draping, a technique which sees blusher applied along the cheekbones rather than solely on the apples of the cheeks. Similarly to contouring, this helps to lift the cheekbones and elongate the face. It's easy to achieve and looks great on everyone.

Again, because this look is colour-heavy, try to keep the rest of your makeup neutral. Take a leaf from Lizzo's book and opt for natural-looking faux lashes, a brown toned matte lip, and immaculately groomed brows.

3. Fresh Faced

I'm every bit as obsessed with Sofia Richie's honeymoon makeup as I was with her wedding makeup. This fresh-faced natural look is exactly what I'll be wearing on hot summer's days, because layers of foundation and concealer is not it. To achieve this no makeup-makeup look, a subtly tinted base, a dewy lip balm, clear brow gel, and cream blusher is all you need.

4. Orange Pop

When it comes to glam, evening-appropriate makeup looks for summer, you can always count on the Kardashians for inspiration. I'm honestly obsessed with everything about this look—the lashes, the brows, the matte lip, the slicked back hair, and of course, the fun pop of orange pigment.

Again, this is a really great way to experiment with colourful makeup without needing a 16-pan eyeshadow palette and 15 different eyeshadow brushes. In fact it's so easy, you could even use your fingers to apply the pop of colour. Add lashes, a liquid lip, and a soft dusting of bronzer, and you're done.

5. Soft Cat-Eye

I've lost count of how many images of Zoe Kravitz's eyeliner looks I've saved on Instagram—she gets it right, every single time. The secret to pulling off this look is a super sharp pencil eyeliner, applied with a tightlining technique so as to appear as soft and natural as possible. To tightline, you'll want to angle your liner upwards into your lashline, applying pigment in amongst the roots of your lashes rather than above them.

Ensure that your entire lashline is covered, then extend downwards a little in your inner corners and upwards in the outer. This look isn't about precision, so don't worry if your flick isn't perfect. Finish by using a precision smudging brush to soften the liner and blend out the cat-eye.

6. Sunkissed Sheen

If summer could be summed up in one makeup look, it would be this one. Glowing skin, bronzed cheeks, and strategically placed highlighter really are the holy trifecta of summer makeup.

Although Hilary's sunkissed skin looks totally natural, this look is heavy on the bronzer. Use a matte product to sculpt, followed by a shimmery formula to add warmth where the sun hits, and finally, a cream highlighter to add sheen to the high points of the face.

Whilst we'd certainly never advocate sunburned skin, it has to be said that a skin faux sunkissed effect is majorly trending in makeup this summer. Whether you use a blusher or a bronzer, all else you need is a large fluffy brush to recreate this look—just dust the pigment loosely over your cheeks and nose.

Speaking of peach, when it comes to blusher and bronzer, we're seeing warm, orange-toned products taking centre stage in so many celebrity makeup looks this year. The great thing about a peachy cheek product is that you can also use it as eyeshadow, which is a great way to tie your look together. Throw a matching lipstick into the look à la Rochelle Humes, and your look is complete.

Let me start by saying that I have no fear when it comes to my hair. Like a true Aries, I’ve sheared it to my chin in a fit of inspiration, impulsively cut (and adored) swooping ‘90s bangs, and recently let it grow longer than ever. That said, my lengthy tresses are finally starting to weigh me down, and one of 2026’s hottest (and sharpest!) haircut trends is slowly starting to sing its siren song.

“Classic for a reason, the blunt bob is going to continue its reign as a go-to hairstyle in 2026,” celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos previously told Who What Wear. This timeless shear is one of the easiest ways to make everything below the neck look chic, though celebs with signature sharp bobs like Kelly Rowland and Lily Collins have made cases for the shoulder-pad-and-high-neck combo. Giannetos describes this sleek, straight crop as “blunt, smooth, and high fashion—perfect for someone wanting a chic chop.”

What is a Blunt Bob?

Since the 1920s, bobs have always been the moment. However, it’s not until the 21st century that we see stylized haircuts overshadow styling, like flapper-esque finger waves and ‘50s roller curls. With the ever-changing trendscape fueled by social media and celebrities, modern iterations like the “c*nty little bob” popularized by The White Lotus’s Leslie Bibb—cropped sharply below the ear—and Zendaya’s old Hollywood “bixie” (read: bob-slash-pixie) kick things up a notch.

Hairstylist stylist and Oribe global artist Mandee Tauber previously described the blunt bob as a “one-length, clean-lined cut” meant to accentuate shine and make a bold statement. “Falling at chin or shoulder length, it’s the blueprint for the trendy Italian bob,” she added. While most blunt bobs are typically cut on a severe line and styled straight to showcase the meticulous craftsmanship (and deliver a “don’t mess with me” energy), Tauber explains that you can easily still achieve a variation of this look with diffused, softer ends for a more casual look.

Depending on your face shape, a sharper bob at certain lengths could serve you better than a softer version and length. Tauber explained that blunter and shorter bobs flatter “oval and heart-shaped faces especially well,” whereas a longer “lob” version will better suit square or rounded faces “by elongating the silhouette.” I could spew for another 50 lines about the different types of blunt bobs, but I’d rather show you. Some may view shopping as a fun and frivolous hobby (not us!), but in reality, it's a sport. It takes true skill to be able to find a rare and coveted designer piece, especially when it comes down to a 24-hour or less deadline. Just ask Gab Waller. At just 28 years old, the Australian buyer has become the magic maker for clients looking to get their hands on pieces like a sold-out, in-demand Prada bag. One may even call Waller the Indiana Jones of shopping.

Waller's prowess for sourcing sold-out designer pieces for clients all over the world earned her celebrity clients like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Khloe Kardashian, and Hailey Bieber. (The latter of whom scored two "miracle finds," including an oversize Balenciaga coat and a Celine coat from fall 2018.) In our latest episode, Waller tells us the secrets of her personal-shopping business, including the most over-the-top item she had to source and what her clients are still trying to get their hands on a year later. I read that you can typically confirm the location of an item within 24 hours. Can you walk me through a little bit of what that process looks like? 

In terms of how the sourcing process works as a whole, everything at this point in time comes through via Instagram or via email. And all we need to begin any hunt is an image of the exact item and the size. From there, it gets logged in our database, and that's when we begin the hunt, essentially. The one thing I have learned being in this business is how fast-paced it is. Something that may be available right now could potentially be sold in less than 30 minutes. You really can't be twiddling your fingers, and I thrive off that. I think that's why I love what I do so much. I love that fast-paced environment. Being three and a half years in, there are certain requests that we receive that I know exactly who to go to for it, where it's quick and easy, and we're able to snatch that up straight away. There are others where we really have to do some extensive digging. With that 24-hour turnaround, it certainly does happen, and that's where it really comes down to knowing and having that finger on the pulse of what region might be the best one to reach out to, because we source globally from all over the world. So I may go, "Okay, let's go straight to London for this, or let's jump straight to Dubai for this."

What has been the most difficult thing to source?

There are a couple of things that jumped to mind. Certainly that post–Rosie Huntington-Whiteley coat era and that old Celine boom. That definitely tested my abilities back then of just how much old Celine I could source, with some of those pieces being so rare in the market, even to this day. I still get requests for the [Celine] Edge sunglasses and things like that. So they are very, very challenging. But other than that, I do look for pieces when it comes to that quantity that we need. So whether it is the Chanel [dad] sandal or the Prada Raffia Tote, we can definitely find one, two, or three, but when it comes to amping up the quantity, that's where it really gets quite challenging. And that is where it's so important to work closely with the brands, too, and they have been so incredible in that regard to really help with that and keep all of my clients happy.

So what about the most over-the-top thing that you've ever had to track down?

It was a particular client that wanted a really incredible Vetements leather jacket. I remember at the time it was like a piece of art. And at that point in time, we were liaising with the brand, and eventually, we managed to have them agree to custom-make it for him. And it was quite a short lead time, but it was sold out, and it wasn't floating around, especially through all my pre-loved private market sourcing that I try to do. So that was really amazing. It was very impressive.

So what are you getting the most requests for right now?

I would definitely say Chanel. The spring/summer collections recently launched, and it was boomed immediately from the runway. It was very vintage inspired, so the swimsuits from them are certainly popping at the moment. The other style was the Saint Laurent Sin sandal. I recently sourced it for Rosie and posted it up on Instagram. It was funny. One of my clients from down in Melbourne texted me, and she's like, "What have you done? You're selling out all of these Sin sandals. I'm in the Saint Laurent boutique right now, and there's been multiple people coming in asking for them, and the sales assistant was saying 'We just don't have them.'" So I always find it so interesting, watching a particular piece that may not have had a demand, and then a certain someone posted it. Miu Miu is certainly having a moment. I'm really excited to see what's coming out from them and the amount of requests that we are receiving. And of course, Prada is always one of our top requests. The Raffia Bags continue to be in demand, and we are continuing to source them. That's an item that has been in demand for a good year now. So to have that amount of time where it's still popping, it's very interesting.

Confession time: For an industry that’s so creative, I’m always a little dismayed by the lack of inclusive-sizing. Sure, there are designers that are revolutionizing sizing with the industry, and more recently, 11 Honoré launched its high-end private label catered to creating clothing for women of all sizes, but when it comes to creating plus-size clothing at all price ranges, the industry still has some work to do. As if it weren’t already hard enough to find great plus-size brands to shop for regular clothing, shopping for a swimsuit can feel like an impossible feat. 

Luckily for women everywhere, the brand Good American is back at it. Launched in 2016 by Emma Grede and Khloé Kardashian, the brand became the place to shop for plus-size denim and was picked up by all our favorite retailers. This past June, the brand has decided to take it to the next level by launching its first-ever swimwear collection.

To celebrate the launch, we spoke with Grede about the plus-size swimwear collection and what’s next for the company. Ahead, you’ll find your new favorite swimsuit for your socially distanced day by the water.

Good American made a name for itself with its size-inclusive denim. What compelled you to expand into the swimwear market? 

When we think about launching new products and categories, we always look to our customers. We truly value their feedback and apply any learnings we can to new styles. Swim was, in fact, our most-requested category to-date and was in the works for nearly two years.  

We also recognize that shopping for swimwear can feel impossible and comes with so many challenges. We wanted to make that more seamless experience for our customers. We incorporated a number of different elements of support to work for different body types, giving women swimwear that will make them feel confident, sexy, and their very best.

Where did you draw inspiration from for the first swimwear collection? What pieces did you feel you needed to create for this collection? 

When designing this collection, it was extremely important for us to incorporate elements of support and adjustability without sacrificing style. Our customer loves leopard, so we mixed bold prints with solids in reversible styles to provide her with options. There are a number of fun and sexy silhouettes, as well as classic swimsuit styles within the collection that offer fuller support and coverage. It’s hard to find full looks that can easily transition from the pool or the beach into your everyday wardrobe, and we wanted this collection to feel easy and versatile.

Can you tell us a little about your design process? How does designing swimwear differ if at all from your design process for denim and activewear? 

Swimwear is a tough category, and just like denim, women can dread the process of buying it. Our approach to design for all categories in the same way with a focus on fit and fabrications and we bring our customers into the conversation early on by asking them what they can’t find and what problems they need to solve. The design process for swimwear is similar to all of our denim, ready-to-wear, and activewear. 

We have an extremely talented in-house design team who all have years of experience and are experts in fit. Our team prides itself on attention to detail and the importance of creating designs with multiple body types in mind. We’re constantly reviewing our product throughout the process and going through multiple rounds of fittings on different fit models, applying feedback from each fitting to inform our final designs. With our swimwear, we placed an extra emphasis on perfecting the fit because we know how daunting it can be to find a suit that feels supportive yet sexy. 

Does anything about this collection stand out to you in terms of how different it is from other competitive swimwear collections? 

We designed our swim collection for women of many shapes and sizes. We put a significant emphasis on fit and invested two years to make sure we got it just right. So much of the collection is adjustable and customizable to your particular body. From double drawstrings and adjustable straps that provide full coverage and support to belts that accentuate waists and a unique tummy-tucking technology to help smooth, we incorporated even the smallest details to give women that extra support so they can look and feel their best! 

Finding a swimsuit is a challenge in and of itself, but for curvier women, finding quality suits can feel impossible. What problems do you hope this collection solves for curvier consumers? 

With this collection, we wanted to alleviate the pain points that come with finding that perfect suit. No matter any size, we wanted to give women of all shapes and sizes quality swimwear that makes every woman look and feel their best. Whether denim, ready-to-wear, performance—and now swim—we want our customers to know that with Good American, they'll always find the very best fit, period. And similar to all of our collections, it was important to us to model swim on women of different shapes and sizes on our e-commerce site so all women can feel represented and seen in the shopping experience. 

Do you feel there is one swimsuit style you think looks good on everybody? Or one swimsuit every woman should own?

You can’t go wrong with a classic black one-piece! I love our showoff one-piece. It’s simple yet sexy and has the cutest adjustable belted waist.

How has your experience as a BIPOC informed the way you approach designing, if at all? How has your personal style informed the way you approach design decisions? 

Since the inception of Good American, I have always been passionate about creating a company that focuses on inclusivity. With Good American, I wanted to create clothing that was available in a range of sizes and modeled on women of all sizes and racial backgrounds, which many brands were not offering. All of our collections, category launches, and initiatives (like our open castings) are focused on inclusion and representation. We are constantly thinking about how we can push the boundaries of inclusivity even further, as I want to support and stand with our BIPOC community—especially at such a critical moment for human rights and racial equality.

In terms of my personal style, I am always excited to test out our new products. When we design a new denim fit or legging, I wear the piece through my day-to-day to make sure we’ve got the fit just right and our pieces are versatile enough to style with any existing wardrobe.

What piece from this collection is your personal favorite? 

The Good Waist Bottom is an amazing staple and has a signature Good American fit that is also found in our denim and leggings.

It’s been four years since you co-founded Good American. What do you think you’ve learned since then? What’s next for the brand? 

We’ve learned so much, but I think our biggest takeaway has been to continue listening to our customers and understanding the value of their feedback. The launch of swim has been wildly successful, and it goes to show how important it is to design pieces with your customers’ feedback in mind. We want to stick to our mission, and we’re proud of our position in the market and industry. We want to keep the core of what we do while creating new products to meet our customer’s needs. Swimwear was our most-requested category, again, so we’re excited to see what comes next and what we’ll be able to share with our #GoodSquad. We have a lot in store for them this year and beyond!

What do you hope the industry and consumers take away from the launch of Good American’s swimwear collection? 

So many women have been ignored in the fashion industry up until this point, and while some brands are starting to recognize this and introduce inclusive sizing, there is still a stigma in fashion against size inclusivity. There’s a hesitation among brands to offer a larger range of sizing because it varies from the "standard” design process they’ve been using for years. We’re definitely starting to see that the industry can change—even if it is a slower process—and we’re proud to be leading that change at Good American.

Yara Shahidi posted this picture of her mid-nap to Instagram, tagging J. Crew as the brand behind her bright yellow bikini. While the yellow color, which is called "burnished citron" is currently only available in size large on the brand's website, there are a whole host of other colors to choose from (I have the exact same suit in red, and it's one of the comfiest swimsuits I've ever worn).

Selena Gomez wore a $40 one-piece while on vacation in Mexico. The bright red suit is from Krahs Swimwear, which is a brand that was started by Gomez's friend Theresa Mingus. Gomez even helped design a swimsuit, which she debuted in an Instagram post last May.

Emily Ratajkowski

If you follow Emily Ratajkowski on Instagram, you're well-aware that she owns her own swimsuit label, called Inamorata. While she posts pictures of herself wearing these bikinis often, the one she seems particularly drawn to is a stringy brown-and-white polka dot suit called Las Olas.

Alessandra Garcia Lorido might be the daughter of famous actor Andy Garcia, but the model and actress is a star in our own right (and her fashion-forward Instagram is proof of that). Khloe Kardashian took baby True with her on vacation to Turks and Caicos last May. During her vacation, she posted multiple pictures of herself lounging beachside in a hot pink bikini, which is from White Fox Boutique, a brand that many of her sisters have been spotted wearing in the past.

Speaking of Kylie, the beauty billionaire posted her own swimsuit pictures on Instagram a few months back. In this picture, she wears a neon green bandeau set from the aforementioned White Fox Boutique, which matches the one-pieces worn by both Jordyn and Stormi.

Ashley Graham's Swimsuits for All partnership is still going strong. Here, she poses in one of her designs from the collaboration. The set features a scoop-neck top, a high-waisted bottom, and a dangling body chain that can be worn on the top or the bottom as you wish. 

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa is a fan of a printed one-piece swimsuit (that's if her recent Instagram posts are any indication). The one she wears in this picutre is from the brand Lysander Swim, and it's covered in dark green leopard print...If it's good enough for Dua Lipa, then it's good enough for us.

In addition to styling the trio of boldfaced names, Michelle is also responsible for helping a pair of on-the-rise stars achieve a banner year in the style department: 19-year-old Amanda Steele and 17-year-old Amelia Gray Hamlin, among other clients. You know how financial advisers tell you to diversify your investments? Well, with a mix of Kardashian-Jenners and up-and-comers, Michelle's styling portfolio would certainly pass, with flying colors at that.

Like many fashion success stories, Michelle's started with an internship. "I learned what a stylist was after I took an internship at a fashion magazine in college," she told Who What Wear. "At the time, it felt like a dream and not a job, but today I experience the craft as a real art and business (yet still a dream job)."

"The first look is one of my go-to styling tricks: belting outerwear," Michelle told us. "I love to belt blazers, and this Loewe belt is especially well designed. Pairing it on top of this jacket helps give your body a defined shape. A belt can reimagine a silhouette of a dress, blazer, or outerwear look. This is something I constantly do in real life so that my clothes look more tailored and stylized."

"My second look is my favorite," Michelle said. "Styling is all about mixing proportions, and I love the idea of a mini skirt with an oversized jacket. It’s about finding the right balance between your top half and bottom, especially in relationship to your body frame. I love tall, slouchy boots, and this is something I wanted to wear right off the set and into real life!"

Michelle went on to explain the accessory trend she'll definitely be relying on in 2019. "My third look features my favorite accessories trend right now: glitz!" she told us. "I'm obsessed with accessories that have diamantés. I love to juxtapose super-fancy accessories with jeans as I did with this look. It shows how the right accessories can take a casual outfit to a whole new level." 

Rest assured you don't have to be a high-powered stylist with an A-list clientele to pull off these looks. (For starters, you can nab a leather corset belt for a fraction of the price of Michelle's Loewe version.) After cornering the market with her size-inclusive jeans, Khloé Kardashian has set her sights on another part of your wardrobe: activewear. Today, her Good American brand has launched a collection of everything you could ever want for a workout (leggings, sports bras, sweatshirts), as well as items you didn't think you needed but suddenly have to have (bike shorts, wrap tops, and zip-up crop tops).

Naturally, I had to go straight to the source, so I chatted with Kardashian about her exciting new launch, which is available at Nordstrom, Six:02, as well as on Good American's website. First thing's first: When I asked Kardashian about the one pair of leggings that will make your butt look good, she didn't hesitate with her response: "The Curve Sculpt Leggings—it's right in the name!" she told Who What Wear. Why is it important for the activewear line to be size-inclusive?

Inclusivity was built into every aspect of Good American's business from the start. Every item we make—denim and activewear included—is available in sizes 00 to 24 because want to make sure our clothes fit and feel good so women can spend their time and energy on the things that truly matter. It's also really important that we work with retailers who take inclusivity as seriously as we do and make every style available to their customers in size 00 to 24. It's great to have Nordstrom's support.

What do you like best about the sports bras from the collection? Did you test them out on all different bust sizes?

Size-inclusivity and fit are so important to Good American, so we test every product, including the Performance sports bras and crops, on so many different women with varying body types before we land on a final fit. I love the bra styles we landed on because they're really supportive. We felt that so many sports bras don't provide enough support, so we used a triple layering fabric technique to provide make these really great.

I see the collection includes bike shorts. What's your advice to women who might be afraid to try the trend?

I love the bike shorts! Women should be unafraid to try any trend and should wear whatever makes them feel good, even if someone else would consider it a styling "mistake."

What are your three favorite pieces from the collection to work out in and why?

How can I choose? I love the Icon group a lot because there are so many different options outside of your typical leggings and top. There's a biker short, a short-sleeve crop top, bra and a few pairs of leggings.

We saw that you celebrated the launch of the Performance collection in NYC. What else can we expect to see?

Today, [August 3] I was at Nordstrom in Seattle. We worked out with Gunnar Peterson on the roof of the flagship Seattle HQ—it had never been done before!

Just four days after giving birth to her first child, Khloé Kardashian is sharing the details with her 75 million Instagram followers. The reality star posted a photo of a pink-hued room filled with flowers and balloons, announcing her daughter's unique, gender-neutral name in the caption: True Thompson. "Our little girl, True Thompson, has completely stolen our hearts and we are overwhelmed with LOVE," she captioned the photo. "Such a blessing to welcome this angel into the family! Mommy and Daddy loooooove you True!" True joins Dream, Stormi, Chicago, Saint, North, Reign, Penelope, and Mason in the growing Kardashian cousin clan, adding yet another unique name to the bunch. Congratulations to the new family!

Khloé Kardashian is officially a mom. A source confirmed to People that Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have welcomed their new baby girl.

Kardashian first announced her pregnancy back in December with the sweetest Instagram photo of her baby bump. "My greatest dream realized!" she captioned the photo at the time. "We are having a baby! I had been waiting and wondering but God had a plan all along. He knew what He was doing. I simply had to trust in Him and be patient. I still at times can't believe that our love created life!"

Since then, she has shared every stage of her pregnancy with her fans, including her all-pink baby shower and the moment she found out she was having a girl. Congratulations to the new family!

It’s been a little over a year since Khloé Kardashian and her business partner Emma Grede introduced Good American to the world. And despite the fact that there are many products the Kardashian family attaches their names to, hopefully this one hasn’t been lost in the shuffle for you. After all, the brand has not only been selling out products regularly—polarizing Bermuda shorts, included—but it’s setting a whole new standard for how we shop. Just ask Nordstrom.

In a discussion yesterday with Good American’s co-founders, Grede said she knew their size 00 to 24 line would resonate with shoppers, but she didn’t expect retail’s reaction. “Nordstrom really credited Good American with the change to their entire retail strategy. They’ve gone out to every brand to ask them to do expended sizing,” she said referring to the mass retailer’s announcement earlier this month. “People don’t believe they have the customer,” Grede says about retailers still reluctant to embrace inclusivity, “And I say to them, ‘You do have the customer. She’s just buying her bags and shoes from you.’”

Even Kardashian said on the panel that she’s surprised at the brand’s success and impact in just a year and admitted it didn’t come without its mistakes, specifically with some sizing in season one’s jeans that’s since been resolved. “When you take ownership of your mistakes, people really appreciate that,” she said.

As for year two, Kardashian and Grede are kicking it off with a VFiles pop-up shop collaboration over the next two days in New York, new permanent placement within Bloomingdale's stores, and maybe even future plans to come to fashion week. “I hope so,” was all Kardashian would say. Other than that, “We’re just simmering and letting it happen,” she said about Good American’s impact on inclusivity.

We’ll also argue, the brand’s had an impact on trends, almost as much as on equality. “I’m shocked by how people responded to that silhouette,” Kardashian told us about the Bermuda shorts style introduced earlier this year. “We were nervous about producing that, and it sold out so quickly. It’s not a very popular silhouette, but everyone loves it. It really flatters every girl’s body.”
