The minute I came across a particular pair of black woven Mary Jane flats, I knew I needed to have them. These, in fact, ended up being the gateway into discovering that pop star Katy Perry has a shoe collection, which happens to be very good. The shoes are chic, fun, and trendy, and most of the styles fall under $100. I'm hooked, to say the least.

Who What Wear: How would you describe the fragrance in your own words?

Katy Perry: It’s all my favorite things: vanilla, candied citrus—it's just the yummiest fragrance! So good you can almost taste it.

WWW: Is Devotion a daytime or nighttime scent?

Perry: It’s definitely an all-day fragrance. The citrus notes are light and bright for day, but the vanilla notes make it sexy for night, too.

WWW: What made you want to collaborate with Dolce & Gabbana? And why is this partnership a good fit?

Perry: I remember wearing this leopard print Dolce & Gabbana dress on Warped Tour all the way back in 2008, and I’ve worn them everywhere from the Met Gala to Coachella, to America Idol to my music video for "When I’m Gone.” They feel like a part of my style DNA, and I’ve always loved working with Stefano and Domenico.

WWW: What was your experience working with the brand, and on this campaign?

Perry: I’ve had such a fun experience on this campaign. When you start the relationship with three days on Capri, you can’t go wrong! I got to be on a boat for some of the scenes, and then walked all around the island, getting in some pizza and pasta along the way. It’s also been wonderful being in NYC and seeing my fans who also love Dolce & Gabbana at Macy’s!

We had very few red carpet fashion moments to indulge in last year, but they will no doubt resume at some point in 2021—and we'll be there to cover them. Red carpet events are always a huge team effort, as they require hardworking stylists, tailors, makeup artists, and more, and the final product is always a glorious look for the fashion history books.

Looking ahead to the return of red carpet events—whenever that may be—I mined runway images to come up with some predictions about what celebrities will wear. For instance, I thought the sultry Versace S/S 21 collection was rife with dresses that Blake Lively would love, and Molly Goddard's show had Gemma Chan's name written all over it. This inventive Halpern S/S 21 dress might be too forward-thinking for the Oscars, but here's hoping it pops up on the Met Gala red carpet. Katy Perry, are you listening? 

This intricate gown from the Chanel Métiers d'Art 2021 show is giving me Natalie Portman vibes. 

Christopher John Rogers is a master of both color and shapes, and this S/S 21 dress proves it. I can picture Zendaya in this cheery number. 

British designer Molly Goddard is known for her poufy dresses, but this one from S/S 21 just might be my favorite. Fashion chameleon Gemma Chan would pull this off with aplomb. 

We all know Tracee Ellis Ross loves metallic dresses, so I think she'd fancy this Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture S/S 21 look. 

I'll be very disappointed if Blake Lively doesn't don this Versace S/S 21 dress at some point next year. 

Sarah Paulson loves a statement red carpet moment, so I'm envisioning her in this Givenchy F/W 20 caped look. 

This bold Roksanda S/S 21 dress would suit Lizzo's penchant for extraordinary red carpet outfits. 

If I had to predict who would choose this Schiaparelli S/S 21 minidress, I'd go with supermodel Gisele Bündchen. 

The jewel of Copenhagen, Cecilie Bahnsen, is known for her confectionary designs. I can picture Olivia Palermo looking radiant in this S/S 21 number. 

Kate Bosworth came to my mind immediately after seeing this frothy pink Giambattista Valli F/W 20 dress. 

Emilia Wickstead took the statement-collar trend to the next level for S/S 21 and it's giving me Katie Holmes vibes. 

This LaQuan Smith S/S 21 dress is giving me major Jennifer Lopez vibes.

Elle Fanning gravitates towards princess gowns and this stunning one from Erdem S/S 21 is more than worthy of her consideration. 

This Paco Rabanne S/S 22 suit of armor is destined to be worn by Solange Knowles on the no-rules red carpet of the Met Gala.

Phew! Is it just me, or has this year been particularly filled with high-profile engagements? It seems like one celeb after the other has paired off, and we're definitely not complaining. For starters, we revel in seeing the beautiful engagement rings, as well as the creative or sentimental ways celebrities reveal the news. And most importantly, the biggest engagements of 2019 give us plenty of weddings to look forward to in 2020.

One of the most talked-about weddings next year will certainly be Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez's—they're a power couple if there ever was one. Given the size of J.Lo's engagement ring, something tells us she won't go subtle with her wedding dress. Big congratulations are in order for longtime couple Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. The couple took to their respective Instagram accounts this morning to announce their engagement, which, judging by the myriad of heart-shaped balloons in the background, appeared to have happened on Valentine's Day. The gemstone in Perry's engagement ring was certainly in keeping with the theme. Bloom gave her a stunning ruby and diamond ring that resembles a flower, a detail that we're quite sure the fun-loving musician adored.

Colored gemstones have long been a celebrity favorite, with the most recent fellow celeb to receive one being Heidi Klum, who joins Kate Middleton, Penélope Cruz, Olivia Wilde, and Zoe Saldana, to name a few. Stylist Jamie Mizrahi has been revamping the brand since taking over as creative director, and even presented the brand's very first NYFW show last month. Less than 30 days later, celebrities are already wearing the straight-off-the-runway pieces IRL. 

Katy Perry, for instance, wore Juicy Couture's pink sequin jumpsuit for a performance this week. Lorde also opted to wear the brand onstage—she selected the Long Sleeved Maxi Dress from the F/W 18 collection for a stop on her Melodrama World Tour. New gig: Katy Perry is now a shoe designer. As WWD reports, the singer is creating a shoe collection with Global Brands Group, which also manages brands for Jennifer Lopez, David Beckham, and others. The shoes will be between $59 and $299 and will launch for spring 2017. “It’s been a creative goal of mine to be a real contributor in the affordable fashion space,” Perry told WWD. Los Angeles tends to be largely overlooked when it comes to its contributions to the fashion community--but not last night! Daily Front Row hosted the first-ever Fashion Los Angeles Awards (which the publication has playfully dubbed the FLAs), honouring a number of designers and other style influencers for their contributions to Hollywood fashion.

Moschino's Jeremy Scott received the Womenswear Designer of the Year award, Calvin Klein's Italo Zuccheli won for menswear, Christian Louboutin won for shoes, Gigi Hadid took home the Model of the Year award, and many more. Some of Hollywood's brightest fashion stars showed up to honour their cohorts, and they lit up the red carpet with some fabulous wardrobe choices.
