I don't think I've worn as much loungewear in my entire life as I have in 2020 alone. Biker shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers have replaced denim, silky blouses, and strappy heels in the majority of my outfits over the past several months (and for good reason, am I right?). I don't anticipate ditching my comfy vibe any time soon, especially now that it's fall. During this season my motto is always "the cozier, the better," and this year I'm definitely not the only one.

I've noticed women on both coasts are saying, "Bring on the sweats!" and continuously styling very cool, very comfy looks. Some of my favorites as of late are ones I spotted on Julia Friedmann and Sai De Silva, who are based in California and New York, respectively. While the weather might look a little different in their cities at the moment, both women are wearing affordable leggings, joggers, and sweatshirts from JoyLab on repeat. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to wear these styles both cozied up on my couch and out for a chilly morning stroll (or run, if I'm feeling ambitious) ASAP.

Julia Friedmann: Los Angeles

I love Friedmann's L.A.-girl style, which she describes as "laid back—anything goes." She's a Pilates fanatic and looks for pieces that make her feel confident and hug all the right places, like this scoop-neck sports bra and these high-rise leggings. I'm not surprised her favorite part of this berry 'fit is the tie-dye sweatshirt. "Tie-dye in the fall just has to have dark colors and no white," she says.

This all-black sweats outfit is what Friedmann calls her lazy Sunday look. "This is what I wear when I still want to look cute but be super comfy," she says. "I love wearing joggers around the house and when I take my dog out for a walk, and these ones are so soft." Friedmann also notes that the cinched fit of her top makes it a fun alternative to her everyday hoodie.

Sai De Silva: New York City

I asked De Silva if she's a leggings or sweats girl, and her answer is both! "Leggings for workouts and sweats for lounging around the house," she tells me. I love how she transitioned this particular at-home sweatpants outfit for a little stroll around her neighborhood by adding combat boots and an oversize blazer. It's such an easy way to elevate a groutfit into a super-chic look.

When she actually plans to workout, De Silva says, "I’m a big fan of high-waisted bottoms because they’re flattering on all body types. Also, when I’m doing strength training, I like to see my muscles working, so I prefer more form-fitting silhouettes." While strength training is her exercise of choice, she's also been practicing yoga more frequently since spending so much time at home. This seamless sports bra and leggings set easily transitions her from one to the other because of it's stretchy-yet-durable nature.

It's no secret that for a lot of us, what we've been wearing lately has veered toward whatever is comfy, cozy, easy-breezy… Insert relaxing adjective here. And I think it's safe to say that a lot of us have enjoyed the more laid-back sartorial choices of social distancing, especially if we've been lucky enough to be able to stay at home. Listen, I can't wait to get dressed up for dinner out with friends when it's safe enough to do so, but I also don't know if I can go back to wearing a bra every day.

But since that option isn't happening anytime soon, I'll take all the comfortable activewear and athleisure I can get, and I know a lot of my colleagues can say the same. So when JoyLab (the brand we co-designed with Target) dropped its latest collection for summer, I got some of our editors to try out the new pieces. "My go-to workout attire has always consisted of a ratty old T-shirt and whichever pair of leggings are on top of my clean-laundry pile. But this JoyLab set, I kid you not, is slowly but surely making me into a true athleisure convert. For one, these pieces are SO soft, like throwing-on-your-favorite-vintage-tee soft. On top of that, this set just makes me feel so put-together and ready to take on my workout, even if that just means a socially distanced walk around my neighborhood."

"Finding workout clothes I like is a challenge not only because I low-key despise athleisure, but also because I'm curvier, so finding leggings and bras that fit me can be a struggle. I was a bit apprehensive about how JoyLab would fit because I know I've struggled with the sizing in the past but was blown away. The fabric super soft, and I was very much impressed by the leggings, as it's rare for a pair to fit both my waist and my butt! The bra is super cute too. "If there's one thing you need to know about me, it's that I'm not afraid of patterns or prints. So of course I had to try out this snakeskin-print set. There's something about an animal print that makes me feel more fearless and fierce, which is what I immediately felt when I put the set on. And don't we all want to feel that way when we're working out, trying to crush our fitness goals, or need some extra motivation to get moving? Aside from the fact that it made me feel really stylish, I also loved that it was just the right amount of soft, stretchy, and supportive. I did an at-home sculpt class in this set, but I can also see myself wearing it to indoor cycling, barre, and yoga classes—it's good for medium-intensity workouts."

"This set is super supportive. I have some other Joylab sets in different materials that fit a little looser, so I decided to size down this time to see if I preferred a more snug fit. A snug, borderline-tight fit is exactly what I got! The bottoms are ultra high-waisted and hit right above the belly button on my short torso, which I love. I sometimes struggle with racerback-cut tops but found this one super flattering. The grated vent detail on both pieces is both stylish and functional, helping to keep air circulating even in the sweatiest poses. While I really like the way this set moves like a second skin through sun salutations, I have to admit that wearing it while lounging around the house felt a little too constricting for my taste. I'd have to size back up to make this a good sitting-around set."

"Can I just say that I already have this set, and when presented with the option to choose among all the wonderful things JoyLab has on offer right now, I went in for a second set of this bra top and leggings? I'm not the type to stock up on multiples, but the brushed-jersey leggings and bra are just that good. When my mom felt the curiously soft material the other day, she was straight-up hypnotized and somehow procured a Target gift card so she could get her own pair. I will say it is a cozy set, so wearing it indoors among AC is fine in the summer, but for outdoor activities, this pair is better when temperatures aren't boiling. They're not crazy thick or warm but definitely a little more so than your average pair of leggings. And honestly, the thickness is part of the appeal because they do a great job at smoothing. They're also high-waisted enough, and the bra top is long enough that only a slim sliver of stomach shows. You can actually adjust the set so that no stomach shows, if desired. Though, to be fair, a jumping jack might expose a little midsection. I love the new colors added. I went for a classic charcoal gray, but for the more trend-inclined, there's a really pretty heather mocha, too. Lastly, just a note that I styled mine with a pearl necklace—that's not part of the bra top!"

"I'm so in love with this chic legging-and–sports bra set. The braided strappy sports bra is very expensive-looking and so pretty in the back. I'll be styling it with high-waisted denim shorts this summer as well as the matching crisscross macramé capri leggings, which are super cute and unbelievably soft. I never want to take them off!"

I have always loved activewear, but my appreciation for the clothing category is on a whole new level now that I'm spending 99% of my time at home. Leggings, sports bras, and bike shorts are just about all I've been wearing seven days a week for 20 weeks. (Has it really been that long?) If it has, then I'm definitely overdue for some fresh 'fits—my appearance and my mood would both benefit tremendously.

There are a few people I regularly Instagram-stalk for outfit ideas when I'm in a style rut—such as the one I've currently found myself in—one of whom is Cierra Nia. I can't think of a better way to describe her style than fun. She never shies away from color and print, which is exactly the type of mentality I'd like to adopt right about now. "I’ve always found comfort in being able to express myself through my clothing," she tells me when I reach out for some activewear style advice. There's more of her fashion wisdom plus the cute JoyLab activewear she's been living in below.

This first outfit is exactly what I would expect Nia to wear when working out. The mix of colors and patterns is so visually appealing that I think it would be pretty hard not to smile all day while wearing it. "Having to coordinate colors and textures is a challenge that never leaves me feeling bored or uninspired," Nia shares.

Nia also taps into not one but two trends here: tie-dye (everyone's favorite for summer) and bike shorts. "It gets super hot in L.A., and the short cut helps my legs breathe," she says. As for that cozy crewneck? "I can wear it in the sun and shade, which really says something about the material: super breathable but also super cozy. I can rock it slouchy with a sports bra and the sleeves rolled up—it mimics a short-sleeve silhouette," she says of her styling choice for summer.

Next up, and possibly my favorite workout outfit, is this three-piece monochromatic green set. I can't get enough of this olive shade and neither can Nia. "I draw a lot of my inspiration from nature, and the colors that I see around me throughout the course of my day," she says of this look.

It's all in the details here. "I didn’t notice this at first, but the shorts have small holes on the sides. Not only do they add an interesting texture, but they also allow my legs to breathe! Such a smart design. Minimal but really tasteful," she reasons. Oh, and she suggests wearing that high-neck sports bra as a top with jeans, too. I think I just might take her advice on that.

You know I couldn't talk to Nia about activewear without bringing up leggings. I first notice how cool this snakeskin print is, which, by the way, is a trend that's still going strong, but Nia says this look is all about function. "These leggings are form-fitting and really complement my figure! It’s always hard to find leggings that fit my petite frame, but these really did the job," she says.

She continues that sentiment by telling me performance will always be her number one qualifier when shopping for activewear. "I want something durable that can handle friction and heat but also something comfortable and lightweight. The last thing I want to think about when I’m on my last lap around the park is how uncomfortable my clothing is," she says.

It would be an understatement to say that staying at home has thrown our normal routines for a loop. Being able to stay indoors is a luxury and a privilege since so many essential workers are out there working so hard to keep things running, but it's also taken some getting used to. One routine that's changed for a lot of people is their workout schedule. With gyms and fitness studios closed and outdoor exercise sometimes a bit tricky to navigate with social-distancing rules, more and more people are turning to working out at home.

I don't know about you, but during the first few weeks of staying at home, I was feeling pretty blah about working out at home. I get a lot of motivation from the energy at the gym or a fitness class, so it was hard to actually get myself to exercise. A few things have helped: I found some workouts I enjoy, I bought some new gear to act as a makeshift "gym," and I started wearing my coolest activewear. I also bought some new sets with the idea that they'd be good to wear while working from home, too. 

While the first two really helped me get motivated, I would say that wearing activewear that I felt good in (and thought I looked good in) really has been making my workouts so much more fun. If I can't really get glam to go to a restaurant or bar with friends right now, I'm using my workouts as an opportunity to "dress up," so to speak. And while it's not exactly putting on heels and makeup, it's fun to wear a bright color or prints.

One of my newest sets that I'm obsessed with is my blue one from JoyLab (the line Who What Wear co-designed with Target). The color is really flattering and fun, and I'm not kidding when I tell you the ribbed material is the most comfortable piece of activewear I’ve ever owned.

As someone who thoroughly enjoys eating, I consider working out just as much of a necessity as it is a pleasure. I essentially work out to balance a lot of the indulging I partake in. But what started out as something strictly to "cancel out" my foodie lifestyle is now something I actually enjoy and look forward to. For me, exercise is just as good for my physical health as it is for my mental health. I always feel clearer after Pilates, and it really helps keep my anxiety and stress levels down.

With the dedication I've found to working out is also the need for activewear clothing that I can count on. I've become increasingly picky when it comes to selecting a workout set, as it has to match certain criteria. It needs to be comfortable enough to get through a strenuous Pilates class but also made of performance fabric that will move with me and not interfere with my workout. Oh, and obviously it needs to look good too.

Next up: The trend I never thought of wearing to the gym—until now.

I've left for a trip completely prepared—my suitcase full of everything I'll need and free of anything I won't—a total of zero times in my life. I always forget something (or multiple somethings), whether it's a pair or socks or an entire workout outfit… a major bummer when it turns out the hotel hosts sunset yoga classes.

In need of assistance, I turned to someone who can boast bragging rights in this particular category—someone who travels at least once a month for work alone. Enter: L.A.-based blogger Francis Lola, who kindly offered up packing advice as well as what she wears to travel, sight-see, and work out on the go.

It also turns out that her travel essentials include three great under-$55 looks from JoyLab at Target, so you won't find me complaining.

For exploring a new city...

It's all about casual comfort for Lola when she's exploring a new destination, which is why she's so fond of this JoyLab set. "I usually get cold on the plane, so sweatpants are the way to go. I have to be comfortable when I'm traveling," Lola tells me. I'm typically a hoodie girl at the airport, but the stylish jet-setter is certainly making a strong case for a cropped denim jacket instead.

When I ask what's in the suitcase, I'm not surprised to hear about Lola's organized packing routine. "I plan my outfits for each day because it helps me pack less," she insists, to which I make a mental note to finally try on my next trip. Will report back.

Confession: I'm the type of person who stakes out a spot in the back of a yoga class. I arrive early, lay out my mat in the far back corner, and attempt to blend into the background so I can focus on the flow. So it probably comes as no surprise that I tend to shy away from wearing bright, boldly printed activewear. Essentially, my workout wardrobe consists of two identical pairs of black leggings I wear on repeat and a selection of old college tees in rotation.

But in an effort to test out one of the season's most talked-about activewear trends, I recently swapped my go-to black yoga pants and overworn college tees for a matching gym set in a dark floral print. Although the change wasn't exactly life-changing, making this simple swap did give me a bit of a confidence boost. I found myself trying more advanced poses, challenging myself to hold them longer, and generally pushing myself to do better. There are two types of people in this world: those who work out in old college tees and baggy shorts, and those who reserve an entire section of their wardrobe for activewear. While I applaud those of you who don't bail on the gym because it's laundry day, I've always been someone who treats workout wear with the same mindset as my everyday fashion: Yes, I want my pieces to be comfortable and affordable, but I also want them to be stylish, breathable, and supportive. So as I prepare to update my activewear for the new season, I'm turning to a fashion editor (that would be my co-worker, Michaela!) and a legit fitness influencer (meet Iman McDonnaugh) for inspiration. Iman McDonnaugh, Fitness Model and Influencer

We love Iman's workout style, which she describes as a mix of feminine and sporty, consisting of loose-fitting clothes and menswear-inspired pieces. As a former athlete, it's easy for her to feel strong when she's wearing gear from her old teams (and listening to "Medicine" by J.Lo on repeat), but she's excited to try out the jogger trend this season: "The gray joggers and white top are a total yes for me. Comfortable and true to my sporty style!" Iman also says the entire look fits well, and is extremely soft and comfortable. Sold.

The Workout She'd Wear This To: Boxing and lifting weights. "I love boxing because it brings back the same energy and endorphins I used to get from playing competitive sports," she says. "It requires intense focus and dedication, and I love losing myself in an athletic fight."

Despite generally favoring looser fits, Iman says she loves this sleeker look, explaining that the pink hue is a nice way to brighten up a workout and that the leggings fit like a second skin. "These leggings are amazing, they're soft, they fit like a glove, and they don't budge when I move around," she added. "The bra top and T-shirt are so comfortable, and the whole look together is so cute and easy to wear."

The Workout She'd Wear This To: Cycling. "I love cycling because it requires you to push yourself to your breaking point in order to finish the class," she says. "It feels like a huge reward; when you're done, you feel great!"

This is a personal favorite (I love the print, bold colors, and matching elements, not to mention the super-high-rise leggings that look ultra-flattering), and I was excited to find that Iman felt the same.

"I felt fun in this outfit because of its cute cut and loud print, but the quality also made me feel secure and strong," she tells me. A girl after my own heart, she also loved the snug high-waisted leggings that are guaranteed to stay put no matter what activity you're doing, and I was happy to hear that the bra was secure but not restricting.

The Workout She'd Wear This To: Running. "I love going for a run because it clears my head. It's a full-body workout, and I always feel great after," Iman explains.

Michaela Bushkin, Who What Wear Fashion Editor 

She's a true fashion editor, so it's not surprising Michaela prefers her workout outfits to feel elevated and stylish. "If I don't feel good in my activewear, I definitely don't feel good about my workout," she says. "I may be sweaty, but that doesn't mean I don't want to look just as cute in a yoga class as I do in the office." Generally, she prefers super-soft leggings and strappy sports bras. "I want to feel like a badass in the gym, so it's all about finding workout clothes that fit really well and that move with me rather than against me," she notes. She's been gravitating toward this trendy tie-dye set that makes her feel both stylish and confident thanks to the luxe, seamless fabric and thicker waistband.

The Workout She'd Wear This To: Hot yoga! "I love zoning out for 60 minutes and really tuning into my body. There's a lot of upside-down movements involved in yoga, so I prefer a fuller-coverage sports bra," she adds.

When asked about her favorite color trend for summer, Michaela responded, "Does tie-dye count as a color?" After seeing this look, we believe it does. Unlike the bright tie-dye in the previous outfit, this subtle blue-and-black combo almost tricks you into thinking it's a neutral. Bonus: It's super comfortable. "Why isn't every T-shirt made in this ultra-soft material?" she asks. Paired with these versatile gray leggings that Michaela claims are the perfect cropped length for people on the shorter side, this look is the definition of off-duty athleisure.

The Workout She'd Wear This To: "This is actually the L.A. girl's unofficial casual Sunday ensemble," Michaela says. She's just as likely to wear this outfit to a non-sweaty workout class like Pilates or barre as she is to a casual coffee date with her friends.

The second Michaela showed me this very important look, I was hooked. Not only is it stylish and breathable, but it's also easy to grab and go. "When I'm half asleep in the morning trying to get dressed for a run or hike, this outfit is a reliable go-to," Michaela tells me. Plus, this layered look is basically a fashion editor's styling playground: "I love that this jacket can be zipped in different ways to add a unique style. When I make it to the top of the mountain on my hike, I'm definitely taking an Instagram pic in this outfit."

The Workout She'd Wear This To: Hiking and running are pretty much the only activities Michaela prefers to wear shorts for over leggings. When it gets super hot this summer, this matching scalloped set will definitely be a go-to.

Working out is a huge part of my life. I grew up dancing nearly every day from the ages of 5 to 23, and once that part of my life slowed down post-college, I needed something else to fill that void. I do everything from Pilates to boxing, but my personal favorite work out is Body by Simone. I could go on and on about how much I love the classes there, but for the time being, I'll spare you. Over the years, I have found that no matter what kind of workout I do, I always feel better both mentally and physically when I not only like what I'm wearing but when it doesn't interfere with my performance during the workout.

No one likes fiddling with their sports bra during a workout. Despite the fact that I know (due to my personal breast size and shape) that I can't wear a V-neck sports bra or anything that has the barely there look, I have found myself attempting to somehow break the laws of gravity only to be pulling up my bra all throughout a workout class. The result is a workout that I didn't give my all due to an unnecessary distraction. 

Instead, I love wearing high-neck sports bras, and in particular, sports bras that offer a little more coverage on the bottom, sort of like a crop top. I find that these keep everything in place, support me where I need support, and make my body feel more flattered than any stringy bra ever has.

Won't Wear: Low-Rise Leggings

Will Wear: Mid to High-Rise Leggings

I see women wearing low-rise leggings in the gym or in a workout class all the time with no qualms in the world, so if that's you, more power to you. However, in my case, similar to the annoyance a barely there sports bra causes me, I find myself constantly pulling up a low waistline on my leggings. Since some of my favorite workouts involve weird positions (yoga), jumping (dance cardio), and all that comes with high-intensity intervals (burpees, squat jumps, etc.), having my leggings fall down is the very last thing I need.

Instead, I love, love (and I can't stress this enough) love high-rise leggings. Since I am on the petite side, even a mid-rise legging makes all the difference in the world for me. The way the waistline hits at the smallest part of my body makes me feel great during a workout, and the fact that I don't have to think about anything falling down helps me stay focused at all times during the workout.

There are so many stylish athleisure brands these days that aim to satisfy the fashion-forward customer. While we all love to feel great in our workout attire, sometimes, this specific realm of the market takes things too far, resulting in more fuss than function, especially when it comes to tops. What classifies a fussy top? Anything that you are constantly re-tieing, adjusting, or pulling down.

This might sound like a no-brainer, but up until recently, I have ended up accidentally wearing something cotton to a workout as a result of either laundry day or a bag packed in a rush earlier that morning. Cotton leggings, in my experience, trap heat and show sweat like none other. After being embarrassed by weird sweat stains one too many times, I finally tossed all my cotton leggings for something a little more practical.

Leggings that are made with performance technologies are the way to go, always. These top-notch fabrics (don't ask me what's in them, I'm no legging expert), ensure your body is never overheated, that your sweat won't bleed through, and that your movements will never be compromised.

Whether I'm heading off to a yoga class, hiking along one of L.A.'s many trails, or running errands in the weekends, you can always catch me in leggings. But unlike my willingness to try out loud prints and color in my everyday attire, my choice in leggings is unwavering in its theme: solid black.

For whatever reason, printed leggings have intimidated me so much that I've placed a ban on them in my own closet. At least, that is, until now. JoyLab, the line of activewear we design for Target, released a special capsule of leafy tropical prints in its most recent drop and I went way outside my comfort zone to test-drive the fun new pieces. Like I noted above, I usually sideline any leggings that don't fall in line with my strict edit of solid black, so the idea of wearing colorful printed leggings left me pretty much terrified.

Nonetheless, I decided to put the High-Rise 7/8 Reversible Legging from the collection to the test and see what happened. Would I end up loathing it or be inspired to add more colors and prints to my athleisure ensembles in the future?

En route to a workout class, I slipped on the printed pair and matched it with the coordinating Long Line Laser Cut Back Sports Bra from the collection. To my utter surprise and eventual delight, I was really into them. I tend to shy away from loud prints in my legging selection so as not to draw too much attention to my lower half, but I loved how this pair has dark panels on the sides that create a complimentary illusion. That, and the graphic print is just so fun. I obviously went out of my comfort zone here, but for a more toned-down approach, I plan on trying the leggings worn inside out (they're reversible!) as solid navy with the print on the sides.

The colorful leafy print that's splattered across JoyLab's leggings, sports bras, and jackets is part of a collaboration with Hawaii-based illustrator Kim Sielbeck, who says she wanted to "create something that was not super bright but more of a sophisticated tropical print."

As cliché as it sounds, my number one New Year's resolution is to establish a more concrete workout routine. Before you roll your eyes, it's not as simple as simply trying to "get fit." Instead, I'm vowing to branch out in my fitness routine and try three new workouts that have always intimidated me. The workouts? Running, yoga, and boxing.

In order to work up the courage to lace up my sneakers and start a new routine, I'm first focusing on a matter that's a bit more in my wheelhouse: what to wear to complement my new routines. Call it productive procrastination but studies show that when you have a stylish new outfit to wear to your workouts, you're more likely to be excited, motivated and loyal to your new routine.

Whether it's a supportive sports bra for running, comfortable and flexible leggings for yoga or an edgy ensemble for boxing, half the fun of these workouts is going to be planning the outfits. Running 

I'd venture a guess that I am not alone in my love/hate relationship with running. While the health benefits are endless, it tends to be a monotonous routine I dread. This year, instead of viewing it as a necessary evil, I'm focusing on all the good side effects: It's a virtually free exercise that gets you outside while also toning your entire body. Win-win, right? I’m very into working out, which is well documented on my Instagram. Whether I’m headed on a hike up to Griffith Park in L.A., going to a class at Y7 or Body by Simone, or hitting the gym, I try to squeeze in workouts at least five days each week. What all of this means is that I spend a substantial amount of time wearing leggings and workout gear.

When it comes to activewear, we’ve seen everything from the "controversial” legging trend endorsed by celebrities like Hailey Baldwin and nude leggings gaining popularity to the strangest athleisure piece Zara is backing this season and the trend I recommend to all my friends, just to name a few. To add to the list of bold activewear trends, today we’re sharing the look we’re seeing all over Los Angeles.

L.A. girls are giving their go-to black leggings a rest and swapping the workout wardrobe essential for something a little more playful, err, shall we say colorful. The latest trend to wear to workout class is pink leggings. From pretty light hues to vibrant shades of fuchsia, all things pink are trending in Los Angeles gyms and studios right now. To ensure you’re set with the coolest pink leggings, we’re sharing options starting at $30.

Leggings may win the popularity contest when it comes to workout clothes, and I get why. They move with you, they're breathable, and they work for post-gym too. But one place I just can't see myself wearing them is the office. No matter how you style a pair of leggings, I think it's pretty much impossible to make them look polished enough for an important meeting. But recently I found a new pair of workout pants (which are only $37 by the way and are wide-leg yoga pants, specifically) that manage to work both on the job and for whatever workout class I have afterward.

We're also really into this pair of cropped sweats, which we'll most definitely be wearing with the rest of this look the next time we're headed to the airport.

Not that they ever really left, but the '80s are back and having a major moment right now by way of bright colors, structured shoulder details, and funky patterns. The more mixed and matched, the better, especially when it comes to our activewear. By the way, we're pretty sure Jane Fonda wore a similar cropped sweatshirt in the '80s, and we're also pretty sure she'd wear this one now. And let's talk about these leggings—they're soon to be our new daily go-tos. No matter if we're in a the-more-black-the-better kind of mood or one that makes us feel like breaking out a fun print, we love the mesh detailing both pairs offer. The breathability of the fabric also comes in handy whether we're going for a long run or a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood (to burn off the ice cream we'll be getting on the way, of course).

When it comes to workout clothes, I have some nonnegotiable requirements. First, I like to wear things that are comfortable and functional. The pieces have to bend and stretch in a yoga class, stay in place for a dance session at Body by Simone, and wick away sweat for a weekend hike in L.A.’s Runyon Canyon.

Next, and equally important to me, is the cut. In terms of bottoms, I always slip into high-waisted styles since I find them to be the most flattering. For tops, I generally stick with coordinating racer-cut bras or crop tops. Finally, it has to be cute. A requirement that exists because of the inevitable group pics on workout outings with friends, because I want something I can run around in for errands when I’m not working out, and (most importantly) because it just makes me feel my most confident.

My new favorite workout set from JoyLab—a matching seamless sports bra and cropped leggings—adheres to all three of these points. I first spotted the pieces on Who What Wear’s managing editor, Michelle Scanga, and The Thirty’s editorial director, Victoria Hoff. While they opted for bright yellow and red colors, I didn’t veer too far from my typical palette and chose the charcoal version. Next: the leggings I wear when I’m not working out.

You may have noticed that we've been talking a lot about swimsuits, shorts, and sundresses lately, but there's more to summer than beach days and wedding season. One of those activities is workouts, and I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sick of the plain black leggings I wore all winter at this point and am in the mood for something light and fresh to wear to spin class. People who know me well won't believe that I wrote this story. They won't believe that the girl who lives by the mantra "all-black everything all the time" took a step outside her comfort zone to find printed leggings that are actually cool. However, they're wrong, and this is real. I thought this process would be difficult and disappointing, but it was quite the opposite. I actually found several pairs of printed leggings that minimalists like me will love.

For those of you who think this topic might seem trivial, make no mistake: It's not. The athleisure industry has seen an influx of printed pieces covered in everything from stars and moons to avocados and dinosaurs. I'm not here to vouch for the latter, but I can get behind a tasteful design. Life is all about trying new things and having fun, so why can't the same be true for shopping for workout clothes? If you feel the same way I do, keep scrolling to see the printed leggings that I'd be willing to wear to a workout class.

If you don’t own a single pair of printed or colored leggings, consider this your gateway piece. The minimal gradient design will flatter your thighs, and the colors aren’t aggressive. With a comfortable high waist and a cottony-soft feel, you’ll quickly fall in love with these leggings.

Hear me out, but these are perfect for people who don’t usually wear printed leggings. When the print and the background of the leggings are almost the same color, it’s way less noticeable and actually quite flattering. I would never wear full snakeskin, but when it’s shown in this burgundy color, I’m actually into it.

These camo printed leggings are actually perfect. I love how subtle the print is, and I honestly prefer the blue hue to its traditional green counterpart. In addition to bearing a lovable low-key print, this price point is truly unbeatable.

An exciting black-on-black moment here. Ultracor leggings are constantly selling out, and I can understand why. With fun prints, compressive waistbands, and moisture-wicking properties, it’s safe to say that you’ll want to wear these cool leggings in and out of the studio.

I can actually see myself wearing these graphic printed leggings. Even though they’re outside my comfort zone, at the end of the day, they are black and white, two colors that I wear all the time. Therefore, I would be happy to add this to my athleisure wardrobe.

Don’t ask me why, but I’m into these. It’s like a deconstructed take on the Americana vibe. I also think the angular lines perfectly frame your curves in an innovative way. Oh, and did I mention that these have a secret waistband pocket?

I’m never one for florals and don’t really care for too many cutouts, but everything about these makes me happy. I love how they make a statement without being too loud, and I would absolutely wear these after class with a leather jacket and a cool T-shirt.

Something about these palm-print leggings is really speaking to me. It’s a fun take on a timeless print without feeling over the top. These could even be paired with black sneakers and a black top to downplay their whimsical print.

This color-block situation is so fun. I don’t normally gravitate to this trend, but the soft pink curves are actually slimming while the graphic bottom is a fun pop of excitement. I promise you won’t regret this purchase.

These leggings are anything but boring. Normally anything remotely close to animal print doesn’t get to be a part of my workout wardrobe, but these are different. The clean lines, shading, and curved lines seem to flatter the thighs and hips, and as someone who is definitely well- endowed in that area, I’ll take it.

Next time you’re shopping for leggings, remember there’s no harm in trying something a little bit outside your comfort zone.

I'm so happy that springtime and warmer weather are upon us. With the longer daylight hours and lack of cold weather, I've started doing more fun outdoor activities like gardening and running in the yard with my dogs until the sun goes down. That being said, right now I'm focused on maximizing my time so that after work each day I can do things that make me feel relaxed and happy. In order to do this, I like to plan ahead by meal-prepping on Sunday afternoons.

Usually, I just head to Pinterest and Instagram to find new meal prep recipes, but this week, I found an awesome meal prep cookbook that's filled with ideas. The party in the front features a flattering deep-V design with a small cutout and supportive band, while the business in the back displays a firm racerback that will keep your girls held in during both low- and high-intensity training. If that's not a win-win situation, I don't know what is. 

Fun fact: All I want in life is to be a beekeeper. I tell people this all the time, and they think I’m crazy, but I truly believe that bees are magical creatures and the healing qualities of honey fascinate me. I'd love to try this product that merges together natural powerhouse ingredients: turmeric and honey.

I've been looking for a product to give my hair, skin, and nails a little boost, and I think this could be the one. Ingestible collagen has been all over my Instagram feed, and I'm hoping that I get to try it soon and reap the benefits.
