I was starting to think that flip-flop season would never end, but we finally made it to boot season. Jessica Alba, for one, is armed and ready. A nonnegotiable for me whenever I'm choosing a travel outfit is that it includes some sort of jacket. And as we all know, temperature fluctuations at the airport and on planes are not to be ignored. That said, the last thing I want is to deal with bulky outerwear all day, so lightweight jackets it is. And one of the biggest jacket trends of the season happens to be lightweight and ideal for the airport. Just ask Jessica Alba, who was spotted wearing the trend at JFK this week.

The trend in question is windbreakers, which are also commonly referred to as track jackets, nylon jackets, technical jackets, and sporty jackets; for all intents and purposes, they fall into the same category. As a fashion writer, I spend a lot of time considering the power of colour within an outfit, as well as the specific colour pairings that can make an ensemble really stand out. And, lately, I've developed a new favourite. While it might not be the first combination that springs to mind for summer dressing, I’ve found that brown and gold is one of the most sophisticated—and expensive-looking—colour combinations out there, and I have examples to back it up.

This understated pairing has been growing on me for some time, but it was a recent Jessica Alba street-style moment that crystallised it for me. Stepping out in a glossy, calf-grazing brown strapless dress, the actor completed her look with a pair of strappy gold heels and sculptural gold earrings. A thoughtful detail that brought the most out of her dark chocolate dress, the richness of the brown and the warmth of the gold played off each other beautifully.

The appeal of this combination lies in its inherent richness—brown and gold are two colours that are synonymous with sophistication and wearing them together guarantees a luxurious-looking payoff, no matter how much your outfit might have cost you.

Able to be played out in endless ways—a simple brown dress is exponentially elevated when cinched at the waist with a gold chain belt. I think there’s some conflation between all-black outfits and chic being the same. While an all-black look can be quite chic, summer is the perfect time to experiment with and showcase the full extent of your personal style. While stepping out of a premiere in London, actress Jessica Alba reminded me of this sentiment by wearing a full chocolate-brown outfit. The contrasting textures of her strapless satin dress and leather bucket bag perfectly complemented each other. She added minimalist gold jewelry, gold decorative heels, and a fun bag charm, which showed me just how creative you can be, even with a monochromatic outfit.

As we've been saying all year, brown is the new black, and I’m here for it. I’ve never been one to wear all-black outfits, so this look is refreshing to see, especially for summer. If there’s one thing I’ve learnt this year, it’s that 'airport style' is most definitely a thing. Traditionally, long-haul dressing was all about comfort but nowadays our favourite celebs know that a stylish travel outfit can be just as impactful as a red carpet look.

If, like me, you're the kind of person who arrives at the airport at least two hours before boarding a flight, then you've probably seen more than your fair share of wacky airport outfits. Perhaps you've even worn one. 

As a semi-frequent flyer, I tend to alternate between leggings with a jean jacket and sneakers and denim paired with an oversize sweatshirt and sneakers—always sneakers. No matter how much bold eyeliner or colorful eye shadow might be trending, sometimes a nude eye look is just what the doctor ordered. Nude eye shadow is so versatile you can wear it to work or pair it with a bold lip for a night out. It's always elegant and timeless.

Issa Rae's makeup is always on point. While the actress looks great in bolder eye looks, I'm obsessed with this more neutral look. Golden, shimmery shades and precise black eyeliner help draw attention to her eyes.

Leave it to Megan Fox to make nude eye shadow look edgy with the addition of a dark, vampy lip. If you ask me, though, her neutral eye shadow look is doing work here. Shimmery shadow and a highlighted inner corner look amazing on her.

We love this bold, smoked-out eye shadow look on Laura Harrier. To achieve the same result, go for a neutral palette with lots of brown shades and a brown pencil liner that's easy to blend out. I recommend one like Makeup by Mario's, which has a blending tool on the end.

Jessica Alba's look is so simple, but it packs a punch. Apply a wash of champagne shadow all over your lids, making sure to blend out the edges so it looks natural and not harsh. Go in with an eyeliner crayon to create a diffused wing.

There are a lot of reasons someone might have thinner hair, from genetics to postpartum hair loss. And while hair thinning is more common as we get older, anyone of any age can have thin hair, or fine hair (aka hair that's physically smaller in diameter than its fuller counterparts). That's why, as always, the right haircut can be a total game-changer. 

No matter your hair length or texture, your next cut is just a scroll away. We caught up with three ultra-talented hairstylists—Sanda Petrut of Maxine Salon in Chicago, celebrity stylist Joseph Maine, and Ryan Trygstad of Mark Ryan Salon in New York City—to find out their tips for cutting and styling thin and fine hair, as well as the best products to use for styling it. "So many factors are taken into consideration when choosing a haircut for thin hair," explains Petrut. "Is it thin on top? Is it thin on the sides? Is it thin all over? Is it thin due to illness? Is it thin due to ageing? I also consider features and lifestyle," says the stylist.

Petrut also pays close attention to length and texture. "For thin, straight hair I may choose a shorter haircut with clean lines. Maybe a little graduation or a little layer if hair density supports it," she says. 

"For medium-to-long hair length, I’ll choose a long fringe and/or framing," she says.

Finally, "If hair is wavy or curly I would definitely add layers," she says. "The layers would add volume and the hair would appear thicker."

"Typically, I recommend blunt haircuts or haircuts with very little layering for thin hair because you don’t want to remove density from the ends," says Maine. However, he says, "There are still ways to add shape by face-framing or adding minimal 'hidden layers.'"

For loose, voluminous curls like Jennifer Lawrence's, Maine recommends blowing hair out with a diffuser.

If you had to leave the house in five minutes, what products would you use?

If I had to leave the house in five minutes, I would use the Honest Beauty CCC Clean Corrective With Vitamin C Tinted Moisturizer ($22), and then, I would use our Crème Cheek Blush ($13), Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer ($17), and Tinted Lip Balm ($9).

On days when you’re not working or you’re just staying in, what does your skin routine look like both morning and night?

Every morning, I use our Prime + Perfect Mask ($20). I just wake up and throw it on my face! It’s like a smoothie but for your skin, and it's packed with antioxidants. Then, I’ll brush my teeth, drink my coffee, and make breakfast for the kids. I’ll use a warm washcloth to take the mask off, and then, I follow it up with our Calm & Porefect Serum ($30) and a nice scoop of the new Calm + Heal Melting Balm ($33). I love rubbing it into my hands, and then, once it melts and transforms, I press it into my face and my neck. Next, I'll apply the Honestly Bright Eyes Tinted Eye Cream ($24)—it has this great hydrogel base with pigment, and it just counters the blue from my dark circles. And then, I use our Gloss-C Lip Gloss ($15)—it’s like a gloss and lip treatment in one.

At night, I have a similar routine and use a lot of the same things, but I’ll swap in the Vitamin C Radiance Serum ($28), and I like to wash my face with the Calm On Foaming Cream Cleanser ($18). I'll use the Calm + Heal Melting Balm again, and if I’m watching TV or something, I'll sometimes use our Reusable Magic Silicone Sheet Mask ($15) and just let it sit on my face for a while. Or sometimes, I’ll use an ultrasound vibrating wand with the balm, and I’ll do that for 10 minutes. I like to do my skincare routine earlier in the evening so I have a little extra time built in to do an add-on treatment like that if I want to.

If you could only use three Honest Beauty products for the rest of your life, which would you choose and why? 

Definitely the Calm + Heal Melting Balm. It’s amazing. The mondo grass, the allantoin, and the Honest Beauty Phyto-Blend—that combination of ingredients is just a game changer, and you know, there’s a $500 face cream out there that people can get, but it’s filled with chemicals we choose not use in our products. Plus, ours is much more affordable, and you’re getting clean ingredients and the skincare benefits that you really want. Second would be the mascara. It doesn’t even matter if you’re a clean-beauty enthusiast or not. The mascara is dope. You don’t get clumpy lashes, and it really makes it look like you have extensions—thick, fluffy lashes, which is what I always strive for. I’m a lash girl, so I’m all about that one! And then, I would say the last one would be the long-wearing Liquid Lipstick ($15). We have these really beautiful nudes, but we also have fun, punchy colors. I love to use it as a lip stain, so I put it on my finger, and I’ll put a little bit on my cheeks and a little bit on my lips. During COVID when you’re out and about wearing a mask, it’s nice to have something that has that type of wear. With a cream blush or a powder blush, it just comes right off on the mask, where something like this just wears better on your face.

There's a lot of advice floating around when it comes to skincare—what's the one thing that has made the biggest difference in the health of your skin?

For me, it was really looking at ingredients and using products that don’t have perfumes or synthetic fragrances added to them. I try to avoid as many petrochemicals as possible, and that has made a really dramatic difference in my skin.

What’s one thing about your beauty routine that would surprise people?

Hmm, I don’t know! I mean, I’m an actress, and I founded a conscious, ethical, and transparent company, so I don’t know if the people would be all that surprised by anything!

What inspired you to start your own nontoxic lifestyle and beauty brands versus using what was already on the market?

I really felt like I needed to create a company that stood for the values that I had as a person, and I just found there really wasn���t one company out there that was meeting my needs. When you look at the chemicals that are in all of the different products we use—everything from cleaning products to bath, body, beauty, and baby products—you can't point to just one product having an adverse effect on your health. It’s all the products in combination that you’re being exposed to every day over a period of time. Scientists have tested the cord blood of babies, and because of what the mom is exposed to, babies are born with hundreds of chemicals pulsing through their bodies. So these chemicals do go into our bodies, and they can impact our health over time. 

I founded Honest because I couldn't find a company that was formulating products that swapped out these harsh chemicals for cleaner alternatives but which worked as effectively as conventional. And even when I saw other companies using all of the buzzy marketing language, when you look under the hood, they don’t have labs in-house, they don’t have regulatory teams, and they don’t have a supply team that can source raw ingredients and materials. I think that’s the big difference between Honest and a lot of the other companies out there that are claiming to be clean. They use a lot of the same language and lingo, but when you actually investigate, they aren’t really that different than conventional companies.

What's your stance on converting to a clean routine? If someone's just starting out, do they need to swap their skincare and makeup, or can they go more gradually?

I think you have to use clean makeup, too. There’s no point in converting to a clean skincare routine if you’re just going to put a bunch of nasty chemicals on your lips, for instance. We actually ingest what’s on our lips, so just think about how many pounds of chemicals we could be ingesting over the course of our lifetime. Even trace amounts of certain chemicals and ingredients can affect health long-term. It's been studied.

What's the most common beauty-related FAQ you receive on social media?

I think a lot of people are like, "Where do I even start when it comes to swapping to clean products and ingredients?" That’s definitely a big one because I think it feels overwhelming to a lot of people. But I don’t think it’s as complex as people make it out to be, and I think you really can make your routine more basic. Just swap three things in! You really don’t need more than that, and that can be your base. And then, you know, look out for synthetic fragrances, look out for petrochemicals, and that’s a good place to start when you look for add-ons. There are actually some synthetic chemicals that are okay, but do your homework to find out what percentage they are within a product you're looking at.

Are there any beauty trends or practices you don’t buy into or that you feel aren’t worth it?

I think people feel like they have to have a name-brand or luxury product in order to get "the best." But I’ve literally walked the factory floors and visited the manufacturers of a lot of these beauty and personal care brands, and the $5 makeup or skincare is often very similar to the $500 makeup or skincare. There really isn’t a ton of differentiation outside of the packaging or if there's a key ingredient that they’re doing some kind of claims testing for. So marketing budget, if they’re going to do claims testing, and the cost they put into the packaging… That's often the difference between the luxury brands and the cheaper, more accessible, and commercial mass brands. Even indie beauty brands are often created in the same labs and places as non-indie, so I would say, don’t be fooled, do your homework, and look for companies that have labs in-house and have the ability to create their own formulas with raw ingredients they source themselves.

Do you have any "guilty pleasure" beauty practices or products you swear by?

I mean, I love massages. One thing that we’ve done, my daughters and I, for Christmas they got those electric foot baths, so that’s just a nice treat where we all soak our feet. Even if we don’t give ourselves a pedicure, the ritual of it just feels so nice and relaxing. They vibrate, and they have little salts and essential oils you can add. I always put body oil in, too, so our feet don’t get dry. It's just a nice indulgence you can do at home, and they’re not too expensive—you can pick them up at Target or on Amazon.

Health and beauty are so intertwined—do you have any wellness practices or favorite supplements that help give you a boost both mentally and physically?

Definitely consult your doctor, but I do think taking a high-quality DHA is really helpful, and I am an advocate for probiotics and having a good multivitamin on hand. I also love prenatals. They're packed with all kinds of vitamins to help grow a baby, and any time I've taken them, whether I was pregnant or not or trying to get pregnant or not, I've found that everything just looks more glowy and vibrant. I also like to put collagen in my coffee in the morning, or I'll use a protein powder with collagen if I'm making a smoothie.

What's your approach to aging, and what about the next decade is most exciting to you?

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve really grown to love who I’ve become and who I’ve turned into. I don’t have the same fullness in my face that I had when I was younger, but I’m okay with having more angles. I’m okay with waking up and seeing this person that I am today because it represents the comfort and the confidence and the life experience that comes with aging—there’s just an ease now. When I was younger, I was always in my head, and I was so insecure. I was worried about such silly things that, at the end of the day, mean absolutely nothing. I wasn’t living in the moment. I didn’t have the same quality of life when I was younger as I do now. I had more collagen and fluffier cheeks and no pores, and my cellulite wasn’t as dominant… I didn’t have stretch marks on my boobs, and yet I was still so insecure about every little thing, you know? I never just enjoyed and lived in the moment, and now, it’s just like whatever! Let me live!

I just hope that my daughters can find confidence and peace in their physical appearance and their beauty. They both look so different, and each has their own unique way of moving through the world. I have hope that the next generation will feel more confident and connected to what makes them unique and beautiful. I hope they don’t feel as though they need to fulfill a certain archetype.

Conscious, clean, diverse, kindness, and confidence are the words that, to me, describe my Unfiltered beauty philosophy.

What were you doing in 2006? Perhaps you were lining up to see The Devil Wears Prada in theaters (guilty), yelling at your TV screen about the Lauren and Heidi drama on The Hills (also guilty), or wishing you saw Madonna at Coachella (you know what I'm going to say). Well, if you're a longtime Who What Wear fan, you might have been opening one of our site's very first email newsletters because October 2006 is when Katherine Power and Hillary Kerr founded the company. At the time, Who What Wear produced exactly one story per day, and now we've increased that number tenfold. 

To honor Who What Wear's 13th anniversary, we decided to take a little walk down memory lane and revisit some of the celebrities we used to cover back in 2006. As it turns out, there are plenty of fashion lessons that still ring true today, courtesy of Victoria Beckham, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Rachel Bilson, Jessica Alba, and more. 1. Birkins Are Forever

Victoria Beckham may not dress like this anymore, but no one can argue the perennial appeal of an Hermès Birkin bag. As we recently reported, a Birkin currently retains 93% of its value on the resale market, making it one of the smartest investments out there. Plus, the likes of Jennifer Lopez are still carrying the flag for Birkins in 2019.

2. Short Skirts and Tall Boots Always Work

Not every outfit from 2006 is easily translatable to the present day, but this Kate Moss look certainly is. In fact, Kaia Gerber just this month wore an extremely similar short dress–and–tall boots combo, and it's just as cool now as it was 13 years ago. 

3. Don't Be Afraid to Be Matchy-Matchy

This Beyoncé outfit is a masterclass in how to do matchy-matchy the right way. She coordinated her top, skirt, headband, and bag to great effect. Thirteen years later, Kate Middleton is a particularly big fan of wearing accessories in coordinating colors and experimenting with tonal outfits. 

4. Balenciaga Is the King of Cult Accessories

I wouldn't dare write a story about 2006 style without mentioning the infamous Balenciaga Motorcycle bag, which graced the arms of Nicole Riche, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, Gisele Bündchen, Jennifer Lopez, Paris and Nicky Hilton, and many others. These days, you're more likely to see Balenciaga's knife heels or chunky sneakers in paparazzi photos, but there's no denying the brand's ability to design a coveted accessory. 

5. When in Doubt, Go Monochrome

Meghan Markle knows it. Jennifer Lopez understands. And Jessica Alba clearly knew what was up way back in 2006. If you ever at a loss for what to wear, pick a color and wear it from head to toe. It's the easiest way to look pulled together instantly. 

6. Don't Be Afraid of Neon

Rihanna released her debut album only one year before Who What Wear was founded. Is that hard to believe or what? The promotional tour for her second album, A Girl Like Me, included stellar outfits like this little hot pink number. 

7. It Never Hurts to Coordinate Outfits With Your Friends

No, you don't need to (nor should you) go buy matching metallic Louis Vuitton bags, but where's the harm in coordinating outfits with your friends? The street style set does it all the time, but it doesn't mean you have to wear the exact same items. Simply choose the same colors or similar silhouettes and you're golden.

8. Wide-Leg Jeans Work in Any Decade

While skinny jeans reigned supreme in 2006—and arguably still today—wide-leg jeans feel more grown-up and are easier to dress up for work. When we launched Who What Wear, Mischa Barton was one of the hottest commodities because of The O.C., so we simply had to include her—Blackberry and all. 

9. With Jewelry, Sometimes Less is More

The reason this Kelly Kapoor—er, Mindy Kaling—outfit still looks impeccable 13 years later? She kept her look minimal and sleek, forgoing a statement necklace and letting her beautiful plunging dress do all the talking. Long live The Office. 

10. Nobody Does Interesting Accessories Like Ashley Olsen

Leave it to Ashley Olsen to make a button-down shirt and skinny jeans look so cool with the addition of a corset-like top. Her aviators and the croc-print bag would also look right at home in 2020.

11. Jeans and Boots Go Together Like Peanut Butter and Jelly

Good luck finding a more timeless combo than jeans and boots. In 2006, Halle Berry pulled off a casual red carpet look in long jeans that scrunched over her pointy-toe boots—a styling tricks celebs are still trying to this day. 

12. Everyone Should Own a White Button-Down

You might associate white button-downs with boring 9-to-5 jobs, but America Ferrera (and present-day Meghan Markle) prove that it's more than red carpet–worthy. Just like Markle styled it 13 years later, Ferrera wore the shirt with a high-waisted black skirt and all-black accessories. Timeless, indeed. 

13. A Black Turtleneck Is the Ultimate Layering Piece

Right up there with white T-shirts and plaid blazers, black turtlenecks are the definition of a wardrobe staple. The 2006 way to wear it was with a bubble dress à la Rachel Bilson, but the possibilities are endless. For present-day inspo, look no further than Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner.

Welcome to What I Buy From My Own Brand—a special series spotlighting our favorite CEOs and beauty bosses. Clean beauty has been a focus of mine since before it became a mainstream term—even when I first launched Honest back in 2012 and no one was really talking about safe ingredients. I have very sensitive skin, and I have allergies, so I knew I wanted to create products that were safe for sensitive skin but actually worked.

My makeup routine always starts with skincare. I really believe that good makeup starts with a great, smooth canvas. I always start with a gentle cleanser, like Honest Beauty Gentle Gel Cleanser ($13), which is great for all skin types. Then I apply our Vitamin C Radiance Serum ($25) for a little glow, followed by our Hydrogel Cream ($20) to lock it all in.

For makeup, I don’t always have a lot of time in the mornings, but I like to tap Magic Beauty Balm ($5) around my eyes, high points, and Cupid's bow. Lashes are a must for me, so I always curl my lashes and apply Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer ($17). Then I like to do just a little Crème Cheek Blush ($13) on my cheeks and add a lip color. I’ve had so many looks over the years, but now I really love classic, feminine looks that are all about accentuating your natural beauty. I do like to get playful with my makeup sometimes, but I think it’s all about keeping the look balanced. So if I do a more dramatic eye look, I’ll wear a more neutral lip so it’s not too overpowering.

It feels like over the past five to ten years, everyone with celebrity status has launched a beauty line. What started as a concept everyone wanted a slice of has slowly but surely lost its allure. A recent study by market research company Ipsos found many social media users feel sceptical that celebs actually use the products they push and say the market is oversaturated. One commenter even went as far as saying, "Dear celebrities, please—and I mean this with the greatest respect—please stop forcing new skincare lines onto us. We don’t need it, we don’t want it. We know you’re not even using it. Please, just stop.” Sheesh.

For me, it was the announcement of Brad Pitt releasing his own skincare line in September last year that, quite frankly, sent me over the edge. "Where will it end?” I internally cried. However, I must give credit where credit is due, and flag there are certain celebs absolutely killing it in the beauty industry. Let’s take Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, for example, which launched in 2017 and is now worth $2.8 billion. Or newcomer Rhode by Hailey Bieber, featuring a line up of sellout skincare essentials and that viral peptide lip treatment. I’m yet to try the brand and I’m eagerly awaiting its arrival into the UK, so watch this space…

There are also a lot of skincare and makeup staples in my own beauty regime that were born from celebrity-founded brands, so it’s not all doom and gloom. If they clearly love and whole-heartedly believe in their brand, everything feels more authentic and it reflects in the product offering.

I really love Selena Gomez, but I don’t think that makes me bias in saying her brand hits all the right marks. Rare Beauty is all about building a safe space for everyone to experiment and enjoy beauty, plus it’s also an extremely personal project for Gomez, who donates a percentage of annual profits to a mental health charity she founded. The products are also genuinely good, and you’ll often find Gomez creating step-by-step beauty tutorial’s on Instagram or Tik Tok using a whole face of Rare Beauty.

After the success of VB’s capsule collections with Estée Lauder we knew we were in for something very special when her very own beauty label launched in 2019––and boy did she deliver. Having struggled with breakouts for years, Huntington-Whiteley wanted to make sure her products work for all skin types, especially acne-prone skin. It becomes one with the skin this way,” she explains.

Ready for one last universal pro tip? Glazer swears her go-to blush trick will change your cheeks/face/life: "Place the two forefingers on the side of the nose and sweep up and out from the outside finger. It is flattering on everyone!”

Rosacea/Acne/Textured Skin: "If there’s texture on that area of the face (spots, scars, etc.), cream blush tends to draw attention to those, so I’d grab that powder,” says Aharon.

I recently took a couple of warm-weather trips to Mexico and then Los Angeles, both of which offer a significant beach culture. But in my opinion, that doesn't make it a good idea to consistently wear the controversial sandal style that I kept seeing on people's feet during my travels. If you're thinking flip-flops, we're on the same page. What kills me is that there are so many shoe styles out there that are just as easy and comfortable as flip-flops but are significantly more protective of your feet.

I wanted to know how flip-flops rank on the airport practicality spectrum, so I reached out to the experts themselves and chatted to TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein and Delta travel agent Stacey Townsend. Farbstein pointed out that while you can certainly wear flip-flops to an airport, "even though they are thin-soled, they still will need to be removed at the TSA checkpoint, which typically means bare feet on the floor." So making the security process easier certainly isn't a valid reason to wear them.

Townsend told me, "flip-flops are great to slide on to head down to the pool, but as a flight attendant, they are not my footwear of choice when exploring a new city. They offer no support, which is basically my worry." I asked what she thought of wearing them to the airport and flying in them, to which she responded, "I mean, it's sort of gross. There's so much bacteria. Wearing flip-flops, you can get blisters and then bacteria can get into your feet." Yikes, right?

I've done it. After lots of searching, plenty of air miles, and a few TSA headaches, I've found the perfect airport sneakers (and I'm never going back). When it comes to celeb-favorite bags, one can typically expect designer names and steep price tags. But one bag we've been seeing on every It girl as of late breaks both those rules. Stars from Emily Ratajkowski to Jessica Alba have been sporting this little black camera bag—the perfect size for the girl on the go with customizable details and a day-to-night design.

The functional crossbody was designed by It girls themselves. British model Suki Waterhouse and her BFF Poppy Jamie collaborated to create Pop & Suki, a spunky accessories line consisting of two customizable bag styles and a fun lineup of add-ons from tassels to tags to straps that transform the camera bag from a crossbody to a backpack to a fanny pack.

Rarely is a celebrity-favorite item under $300, but this new fashion-girl staple is $195—with customization included. Ratajkowski opted to get "emrata" emblazoned on the bottom of hers while Alba went with "Jess." Since the brand's launch, Pop & Suki has expanded its product line and added many more colorways to its original offerings.

This week, we had the fortunate chance to get the full lowdown on Jessica Alba's DL1961 collection in a Facebook Live interview. There, the first-time designer talked us through every style, including the chic high-rise skinnies she was wearing (the JA x DL No. 1 Trimtone Skinny Jeans in Battle, $188), which begged the question: What's her go-to outfit for skinny jeans?

"How I'm wearing it now," she said with a laugh. Alba went on to explain that she likes to mix high-low pieces and stick to coordinating shades to take the guesswork out of getting dressed. "I've been really liking the Who What Wear for Target line especially at the office and then going for drinks at night. It's that mix of high-low. I've also been doing a lot of tonals, and I'll do all one color a lot," she says.

While the actress turned entrepreneur favors a minimalistic and sensible approach to styling her skinny jeans, she likes to accessorize with bold pieces to incorporate more color into her ensembles. "I'll wear a fun shoe or bag. You can have a lot of fun with accessories." Could this outfit formula be more foolproof? We don't think so!

Celebrities don’t really travel like most of us do. We can’t picture them in a cramped middle seat in coach or waiting in a mile-long line just to board. And when we initially heard from Jessica Alba last week about her travel outfit of choice, we started to wonder how different we are. That was, at least, until she explained a bit further.

You see, in Who What Wear’s Facebook live interview with the first-time designer, who just recently launched her denim collection with DL1961, Alba told us she loves to travel in leather jeans, specifically the No. 3 Instasculpt Skinny. “I’m not going to say it’s like sweatpants, but I’m totally going to say it’s like sweatpants,” Alba told us, adding that she’d style them with a big cashmere sweater. “They’re so comfortable.”

That’s a pretty hefty claim, but we can’t help but be intrigued. After all, while celebrities might not travel exactly like the masses, they do travel an awful lot, and we wouldn’t mind taking a page from their book.
