The sheer trend is really nothing new. They all opted for shimmery and sheer mesh dresses that sparkle in the light. 

But this isn't just another daring celebrity trend designed to get us talking. No, the spring 2023 runways overwhelmingly back the look, which tells us that this is only just the beginning of the trend. At Miu Miu, Fe Noel, and 16Arlington, mesh pieces glimmered with crystal and rhinestone embellishments clearly meant for your after-hours wardrobe.

This past Saturday, Gucci held its Second Annual Summer Celebration in honor of its East Hampton boutique, and let’s just say looks were served. The crowd was a who’s who of the New York style scene, including actresses such as Natasha Lyonne and Jemima Kirke, models such as the iconic Christy Turlington Burns and emerging Reign Judge, and Who What Wear It-girl favorites such as Hannah Bronfman and Sophia Roe. After taking a series of short shuttles, guests wound their way through hedges into a Gucci wonderland set up on the lawn of co-host Elizabeth Saltzman’s 1969 home in East Hampton.

Everywhere you looked was Gucci vision, from logo-bedecked lawn games to lounge areas replete with the brand’s home goods and a "G”-covered dance floor where Mark Ronson and Kitty Cash deejayed. The scene was electric, in no small part due to the Gucci outfits worn by the guests. Eccentric, bold personal style was the name of the game, and every attendee seemed to get the memo. Beyond just a fun party, Gucci donated to three nonprofit partners that focus on food insecurity in the area as part of the Summer Celebration—right in step with its reputation for thoughtfully approaching how the brand engages with communities.

I don't know about you, but it seems like every other day brings a new celebrity pregnancy announcement. As it turns out, Hannah Bronfman's most valuable college experience came from outside the art-strewn walls of the classroom. While attending liberal arts college Bard in upstate New York, where she was a sculpture major, she started deejaying at a small bar once a week. The side gig was enough to spark a change of heart for Bronfman, who soon realized that her dream of pursuing fine arts probably wasn't going to pay the bills.

Through connections with friends, Bronfman started deejaying at nightclubs in New York City but quickly burnt out on the all-nighters that put her love for cooking and working out on the back burner. Alas, there was a solution: She realized she could transition to deejaying fashion and corporate events, where she could maintain more reasonable hours. It was during this time that Bronfman began to understand her worth and learned to stick up for herself—which involved creating an email address for a fake assistant named Virginia so she could negotiate rates without seeming like the "bad guy." Brilliant, right?

From there, Bronfman went on to launch the first on-demand beauty app, Beautified, which allowed users to book last-minute appointments with a selection of handpicked salons and spas. But a falling-out with a business partner triggered the app's demise, which was a punch to the gut for Bronfman. "It was the worst breakup I've ever gone through," she told Kerr of the end of Beautified. "By the way, no romantic [relationship] had ever made me feel as heartbroken as I was about my business."

This time of year, your calendar and Instagram feed are likely chock-full of weddings.
