Raise your hand if Hailee Steinfeld is the main character of your beauty mood board. (I've thrown both of mine in the air, if it isn't obvious.) The award-winning actress, musician, and producer is known for channelling elegant, romantic glamour, whether she's sitting front row at Paris Fashion Week or starring in our own February cover (the beauty direction was a lush Pre-Raphaelite dream), and I have no less than 37 screenshots of her looks saved as bridal makeup inspo—and that's before the star herself got married on the last day in May.

While we aren't sure which exact products she used for her big day (though, she did share exclusive wedding details in her weekly newsletter, Beau Society), I asked Steinfeld for her current nonnegotiables when it comes to her signature soft, ethereal glam—and, beauty lovers, she did not disappoint! Set the vibe with some gentle music and a mood-boosting candle ("My current fave right now is the Flamingo Estate tomato candle—it's so fresh," Steinfeld tells me), and follow along below.

A Glowy Skincare Base

Ask any makeup artist, and they'll agree: Proper skin prep does a ton of the heavy lifting. "Less is more when it comes to achieving that soft, glowy, ethereal glam," Steinfeld says, hailing Neutrogena's Collagen Bank Moisturizer and Vitamin C Serum for creating a plump, even canvas.

"It's truly unlike any other vitamin C that I've tried," she says of the latter. "It's so lightweight, and it's not greasy, which I feel is hard to come by. … It gives you this instant glow." That, plus the SPF-spiked face cream ("I never leave the house without SPF," she quips) is the "perfect duo" for enhancing her glow.

"I feel like blush is still very much having a moment," Steinfeld declares. She's not wrong; a vibrant pop of color on the cheeks definitely screams summer. Blush blindness? Where? "I'm always into that sun-kissed, glowy, blushy look," she adds. Her pigment du jour happens to be Armani's Luminous Cheek Tint in the shade 50.5, a stunning peachy-pink. "It's so lightweight. It just gives you that effortless [look]."

A Nude Lip

As someone who has an arsenal of lip products in her bag at all times, I was shocked to discover that Steinfeld sticks to one (yep, one!) lippie—and it's not even a balm or gloss.

"I really just like a liner," she explains. "My go-to is probably Iconic Nude by Charlotte Tilbury." She will sometimes follow up with a good lip balm but usually resorts to "buffing that out with a brush or [her] finger, and letting that be the lip." Lip pencils as creamy as Charlotte Tilbury's blend like a dream, so you can theoretically fill in your entire pout without it feeling too dry and cakey.

Soft, Fluffy Brows

Of course, I had to ask Steinfeld how she grooms her notoriously fluffy, full brows. "It's so funny. Ever since I was very young, I've always had people tell me not to touch my brows. I've just now gotten to the point in my life where I'm like, '[It] might be time to just clean them up every now and then,'" she says with a laugh. Still, she doesn't do too much—usually a quick fill-in with whatever eye shadow palette she has in her makeup bag at the time—but she does have a few quick fixes to touch them up throughout the day.

"I love the Anastasia Brow Freeze [Gel], and I always have a spoolie in my bag to brush them up when needed," Steinfeld shares. "If for whatever reason I don't have an eyebrow gel on me, I'll use a little hair spray on a spoolie. That always does the trick." Fluttery, Natural Lashes

Finally, soft-girl glam isn't complete without an equally soft, wispy lash. Spidery, va-va-voom lashes certainly have their time and place, but generally, Steinfeld prefers to enhance her flutters with a bit of Benefit's BadGal Bang brown mascara. "I can't do colorful mascara, but that's just me," she admits. "I do think it's really fun, and I love it when I see it on people, but I don't know… However, I do love brown mascara. That feels really natural for me."

A few years ago, Hailee Steinfeld, the avid pinner she is, created a Pinterest mood board titled "28." There wasn't a rhyme or reason to it other than the fact that, at the time, 28 felt like an ideal age to usher in change and accomplish certain life milestones. As she tells me, the slightly embarrassing hodgepodge of images only decipherable to her was effectively a representation of what she hoped her life would look like.

Coincidentally and cosmically speaking, 28 can be a year of great significance in one's life. It's at this time that you are said to be entering your Saturn return—an astrological event that takes place when Saturn, the planet of responsibility and maturity, returns to the position in space that it occupied when a person was born—which happens approximately every 29.5 years. Your Saturn return is a period often defined by the self-reflection, growth, and transformative challenges that can be felt between 27 and 30.

For Steinfeld, who turned 28 in December, this couldn't be more accurate.

A career-changing role. A major haircut. New entrepreneurial endeavors. An engagement. Both professionally and personally, the actress has reached a thrilling turning point, and whether it was always written in the stars or the result of a good old-fashioned Pinterest manifestation, you can't help but feel she was destined for this major moment.

"I'm so excited to continue feeling like I am confidently and unapologetically stepping into my own more and more," Steinfeld says. Speaking on Zoom, the actress, multiplatinum musician, and producer is comfortably seated on a couch in what she calls her "creative den" in the Buffalo, New York, home she shares with Bills quarterback and fiancé Josh Allen. Wearing a mauve quarter-zip jacket with matching pants, her sleek brunette bob tucked behind her ears, she adds, "I feel like I've been given some wonderful opportunities throughout my life to do that, but I've never done it like I'm doing it now. I think that has to do with my age and where I'm at."

Since she landed her first major role at 13 in the Coen brothers' Western True Grit, for which she earned an Oscar nomination, Steinfeld's career can be marked by a series of high notes. There was her leading role in the critically acclaimed 2016 coming-of-age drama The Edge of Seventeen. This was followed by her turn in Pitch Perfect 2 and Pitch Perfect 3, which introduced the world to her superior vocal abilities and prompted her seismic shift into pop stardom with hits like "Love Myself" and "Starving." Then there was her TV debut in the 2019 Apple TV+ series Dickinson, for which she also served as executive producer, and that earned her a coveted Peabody Award. She then made her foray into voice acting in the Academy Award–nominated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Netflix's Arcane. The list is expansive and impressive.

Still, Steinfeld was ready for a new challenge. After a nearly five-year hiatus from film (her last movie was 2018's Bumblebee) followed by the 2023 actors' strike, she was eager to get back to work and show herself in a new light. As if the universe was listening, rumors of a new Ryan Coogler project started swirling.

"You hear that, and your ears perk up instantly," she says. "I always have this conversation with my agents where it's like, 'Even if there's not a part for me, let me take a meeting.' You just want the chance." Coogler had been on Steinfeld's radar ever since her Spider-Man co-star Daniel Kaluuya shared a glowing review of the director. She was left feeling that if she ever had the opportunity to work with him, it would be a "run—don't walk" situation.

The conversation with Kaluuya kept replaying in her head when she finally did get that meeting with Coogler. At the time, Steinfeld hadn't seen a script for his new project called Sinners, nor did she have any details, but while listening to the writer and director share his vision for the horror thriller and how he wanted to tell the story, she knew it was going to be something incredible.

At the time of writing this article, much of the film, starring frequent Coogler collaborator Michael B. Jordan, is still shrouded in secrecy. We do know that Jordan plays twins Stack and Smoke, that it's set deep in the rural South during the Jim Crow era, and that there are vampires, but that's apparently not the only supernatural element to it. Coogler stated in an interview that the film is "genre fluid."

We also know that Steinfeld plays a character named Mary, but that's about it. As I haven't seen the film myself (the studio wasn't screening for press yet), Steinfeld had to do a bit of mental gymnastics to ensure she wasn't revealing too much. But all of the mystery has piqued my interest. Plot details aside, it's clear in talking to her what a life-changing experience making the film has been, one she hopes will push her career into an exhilarating new direction.

"When I read the script, it was one of those things where it's just a feeling. It's a feeling I've only got a handful of times, and that's a privilege and a blessing. But it's a feeling that, once you have felt it, you crave nothing but that feeling," Steinfeld says of Sinners. The role of Mary was unlike anything Steinfeld had ever read before. For a period of time, the actress felt like she had fallen into a familiar pattern with the scripts she was reading and the characters she had played—always someone coming of age with some kind of estranged parent or sibling and feeling very alone. Mary felt like brand-new, more mature territory. Steinfeld was immediately taken with how Mary spoke, how she carried herself, and the way she made her presence known in a room full of people.

Steinfeld knew she'd be devastated if she didn't get the part, but just going through the audition process and being on the doorstep of something really exciting was extremely fulfilling for the actress. It assured her that great material and filmmakers were still out there. "I remember getting the call [that I got the part]. It felt like the call that I got when I booked True Grit. My whole world just stopped, and it was like, 'What do we do?! We've got to celebrate!'" she says.

The actress talks about her experience filming Sinners fondly. She had the support of Coogler and Jordan, who created an environment for everyone to be able to show up and deliver their best performances. She formed a tight bond with the group of badass women—including Wunmi Mosaku, Li Jun Li, Jayme Lawson, and Zinzi Coogler, to name a few—and now considers them lifelong friends. Then there was the incredible work of costume designer Ruth Carter that allowed her to step outside of her comfort zone with a new haircut and new silhouette. "I think there was a part of this experience that forced me to grow and left me no choice," Steinfeld says.

The more she talks about it, I get the sense this is a performance that is going to blow people away, and I'm not alone. I reached out to Jordan, who had this to say about his Sinners co-star:

"Hailee's performance in Sinners is very, very versatile and honestly fun. I think it's gonna make people lean in and get a chance to see her in a way they haven't had an opportunity to see her in before. As you know, it's tough to grow up in this industry where people get a chance to see you every step of the way, and they kinda have an idea of who you are and what you can do. I think this is one of those roles that's gonna show Hailee in a new light. I'm really excited for people's reaction to the depth that she went to for this role, and without giving away too much, the way she portrayed the complexity of the character and the layered relationships with Stack and Smoke was so nuanced and amazing to watch. Look, I had so much fun working with her. She's extremely talented, an extremely hard worker, and a great scene partner. When you're on a project like this, in the midst of hard scenes to navigate, [and] balancing the emotional aspects and long days, you really get a chance to become a family. I'm extremely proud of her, and I can't wait for the world to see her performance, and I truly can't wait to see what she does next."

Steinfeld adds, "[Sinners] was truly something that will stay with me for the rest of my life for so many reasons, but one being that this was a role that I had been waiting for, and I hope and pray that I get to do a million more of these because I do think that's part of this next phase of life."

As acting seems to be Steinfeld's main focus, I can't help but wonder about the status of her music career and what role it plays in her life right now. Having amassed eight billion streams globally with a list of certified bops and tours with the likes of Katy Perry and Charlie Puth, Steinfeld has more than earned her spot in the pop-star echelon. Her last single "SunKissing" came out in 2023.

"Some of the greatest moments and highlights of my life have been because of my music and through music," Steinfeld shares. Putting out her own music was a lifelong dream realized for Steinfeld, who grew up spending hours in front of the mirror singing Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey. She got to work with some of the best writers and producers in the business and had the time of her life doing it. It wasn't just a creative outlet. It was also a way to connect with people around the world.

I ask her if that chapter has ended or if we can expect more music.

"I'm not done," she assures me.

That's not to say, though, that a new single or album is on the way anytime soon. Steinfeld has talked openly about the difficult decision to take a step back from her music, as her creative vision didn't align with the vision of others. She hopes to one day come back to it, saying she has a completed project that she's holding on to for whenever the time is right. For now, the dream is to have another opportunity to be in a film with a musical component. "To the saying of 'one door closes and another one opens,' it's given me the opportunity to put that creative effort into something else that I'm really proud of and excited about," she says.

This brings us to Beau Society, the weekly newsletter Steinfeld launched in August of 2024. After stepping away from music, the actress quickly felt a sense of isolation and was looking for a new way to connect with her fans. Despite amassing over 24 million followers across Instagram and TikTok, she says she's never been great with social media. "I find it hard to go on there and cut through the noise," she tells me.

The idea of a newsletter came from a desire to create a two-way conversation with her community, something that felt more like a casual discussion or a personal note from a friend. Steinfeld has now published over 20 issues and has covered a range of topics—from mental health and how to curb holiday stress to her favorite recipes and how to find the perfect archival designer finds, like an amazing fringe Dior suit she scored on eBay. It has proven to be an amazing outlet for the actress; she gets visibly excited thinking about its future and the goals and ambitions she has for it over the next year. "It feels like a space in which I feel safe and comfortable sharing more than I generally would," Steinfeld says. "It has pushed me into embracing change and embracing the fact that, as an actor, you're protected by the character that you play, and it's a really great feeling to have that. … I get to be as vulnerable as possible, and I don't have to tell you anything else."

Now's when I get into a topic Steinfeld is particularly private about: her relationship with Allen. The two had been dating for roughly two years when he proposed in November, a truly unexpected and perfect day she is more than happy to talk about with me. When I ask if she had any inkling it was coming, she's quick to respond. "Oh my God, no!" she says. "You talk to your girlfriends about that, right, where you're like, 'I just don't want to know.'" Fortunately, Allen had the foresight (and sneaky ability) to ensure Steinfeld dressed up a little bit for their date that day. "I'm so grateful that he did it the way he did so that I looked good, and we have these photos that we'll have and cherish for the rest of our lives that I'm not looking at being like, 'What was I wearing?'" she adds. Though she fully blacked out in the moment, she describes the day as simply the greatest of her life. "We were in Malibu, which is my happy place, and it was magical. That's the word," she says.

Despite both having high-profile jobs, the couple has managed to keep their relationship mostly out of the spotlight, sharing only small snippets through Beau Society and on social media. "When you realize that so much is already out there in every other aspect of your life, you really learn to cherish the little that isn't. It just makes things extra special, and it's just for you," Steinfeld says of protecting their relationship.

It's all part of the wild ride that is Steinfeld's life right now. I'm catching her before what will surely be an eventful few months, starting with the release of Angel Margarita, her new ready-to-drink canned margarita line with Premium Beers Group. The venture started a few years ago when Steinfeld created a list of entrepreneurial avenues she wanted to explore, and an alcohol brand was one of them.

I'm quick to ask if a margarita was on her "28" vision board. "You know what? I bet you if I go down that board, there's something in there. I bet you," she laughs.

She's also gearing up for what will hopefully be an expansive global press tour for Sinners. She and longtime stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn have been plotting looks for well over a year, and she's excited to get back on the red carpet and do a totally different kind of tour than we've seen in the past.

There's a theme developing. We're seeing the actress like never before. Steinfeld is boldly entering a new era, and we're seated for it.

Hailee Steinfeld is known for many things. She's known for being a talented actress (she was nominated for an Academy Award when she was 14 years old for her performance in True Grit), and she's known for being an equally-as-talented singer. (I can always count on her song "Starving" to pop up when I shuffle my playlist.) The latest role she's stepping into is a little different. It's a brand ambassadorship for Core Hydration. As she isn't shy about sharing her love for self-care and fitness on social media, this is a natural next step for Steinfeld. 

We caught up with the multi-hyphenate singer-actress-ambassador to talk about all things wellness and beauty (because, yes, those two things can be inextricably linked). For the ways in which she fits movement into her busy schedule and the one skincare product that she calls "completely underrated," keep scrolling to get an inside look into Steinfeld's routine, and shop some of her favorite products along the way.

You're an ambassador for Core Hydration. Can you tell me why that was a fit for you?

There was such an alignment with what both Core Hydration and I stand for. Wellness is a huge part of my life, and I only prioritize it more and more and more as I get older. Within the last few years, I've been realizing the importance of taking care of yourself and understanding that balance really is key to all aspects of life. Staying hydrated is something I have put on every to-do list, reminder, and vision board. … It's a thing I'm constantly reminding myself to do more of. This partnership has served as the perfect reminder to do so for me but also to continue to let people know it makes all the difference in your mental well-being and your physical well-being. On top of that, Core Hydration just happens to be my favorite water, so again, it's a perfect fit.

I feel like everyone could use a reminder to hydrate more often. There are three new Core Hydration+ waters, including Immunity, Vibrance, and Calm. Do you have a favorite? 

Honestly, picking a favorite anything for me is like picking a favorite child. I will say I love them all for their own benefits. After a long day, Calm is part of my wind-down nightly routine. I focus on shutting everything off and turning inward a little bit and reflecting on the day and whatever I have coming up and just taking a moment for myself. 

I think Immunity is middle of the day, on the go. I'm constantly on the go. Again, it always feels good to stay hydrated. I feel like I can tell when I'm not hydrated. My body has multiple ways of telling me and reminding me, and they're not very nice reminders. But with Immunity, I'm doing something great for myself, and on top of it all, I'm getting that little extra boost because of what it is and what it's serving.

Vibrance might, dare I say, be the current favorite. I'm always focused on maintaining haircare and nailcare. I just started coloring my hair, so I'm all about anything I can do to keep it healthy—my skin, too, of course. They all have these really beautiful hints of flavor that are so yummy, so light, and not overwhelming in any way. They don't have any of those sweeteners or ingredients you don't want in your water.

Could you give me some insight into your daily self-care routine? Are there any habits or routines you swear by?

Yes and no as far as things I swear by. I have things that I love. I also feel like with my schedule constantly changing and being in different places all the time, to call it a routine is tough because it's ever-changing and evolving. My daily self-care actions consist of … a lot of Core Hydration and working out.

I love working out, even if it's just 15 minutes, going for a walk, or spending time outdoors. I have two dogs that I love, and if it weren't for them, I probably wouldn't spend as much time as I do outside, especially at the start of a busy day or at the end of a long one. I try to focus on eating good meals, and I lean into wherever I am, seeing what that place has to offer and what I can take advantage of for a little self-care moment. 

Speaking of self-care moments, are there any wellness products you swear by, anything you travel with or use when you're on the go?

Okay, so it's not new—I'm just really late to come around to it—but an ice facial roller. Maybe I'm just late to the game, but they're completely underrated. Maybe they're all the rage, and I've just been living under a rock. On days that I wake up a little bit puffy, it's incredible. Even when I don't, it's so refreshing, and … it just does something. That's been the go-to every morning.

Same! It revives me in the morning, which is nice. I would love to know if you have any other beauty products that you consider to be a must-have for pre- or post-workout. 

As far as pre-workout goes, I like to keep my skin pretty bare. If anything, [I use] a really light moisturizer and a good lip balm. I've been obsessively using Mara's Sea Silk Lip Balm ($26). Post-workout, I tend to wash my face immediately, and if I can't, I love a little rose-water mist. Again, it's super refreshing and light. I don't like to have too much on my skin … until I'm in the clear and we're all cleaned up and everything.

Do you have a favorite cleanser and moisturizer right now?

La Mer has this Soft Cream ($200) that I love, and it's totally buildable, so I feel like I can keep it really light or go a little extra. I love to do a little extra under my makeup to make sure my skin is super hydrated. For cleanser, there's one I've been using forever from my dermatologist. It's not that exciting. [Laughs] 

Let's say you just finished a workout and have five minutes to get ready and put on makeup. Which makeup products are you reaching for, and why?

Ooh, concealer. Duh. I go straight under my eyes with it because that's the first little area we gotta cover up, and then I can use it all over my face as a really light foundation. Then I'll go with a blush. My go-to favorite blush right now is Patrick Ta Beauty. Then some mascara and a light, light cream highlight maybe as a little extra touch on my way out, because why not?

Easy-peasy. Do you have a favorite mascara?

I've been using this Honest Beauty mascara. I highly recommend it. It's really good.

If you had to name your top self-care and/or wellness tip, what would it be?

Oh, my word—my favorite one? I feel this is so relative to the person and their schedule and how much or how little they desire, but working out. I've come to realize that it serves me mentally more than anything. Staying active keeps me sane. I love challenging my body, and I love proving to myself that I'm capable of being in control of feeling great.

Working out isn't particularly the first thing I'd like to do every morning when I wake up, but I cannot even begin to describe how I feel afterward. Again, that could be after a 15-minute little… whatever it is. I always, always, always feel better afterward, and if I could encourage anybody to just move their body… That could be dancing. That could be yoga. That be Pilates. That could running. Whatever it is for you, get out there and feel good about yourself.

The easiest way to spot the brand’s dominance among the generation is by looking at its most prominent members, people like Olivia Rodrigo, Hailee Steinfeld, Addison Rae, and Emma Chamberlain, who told Who What Wear in 2020 of her affinity for Dr. Martens, especially the brand’s platform offerings: "I tend to only wear platforms so I'm really into platform Docs," she said. "I have the short ankle ones, I have the high ones, I have ones that have a zipper in the front that are high-top." Given her 16.2 million Instagram followers, combined with Rodrigo, Steinfeld, and Rae’s combined 87.7 million, it’s no wonder the brand has seen such success with young people, who, according to a 2022 study conducted by L.E.K. Consulting, consider Dr. Martens to be the second hottest brand for casual women’s footwear, only losing out to Crocs and beating both Birkenstock and Ugg. 

Darren McKoy, the creative director of Dr. Martens, believes that it is in the brand’s DNA to appeal to young people, especially those who are interested in side-stepping the status quo and creating a future for themselves that is unique. "[Our ethos] is all about empowerment, which is all about creativity, which is all about expressing yourself and being you,” he tells me from Dr. Martens’s store in Camden, a neighborhood in London known for housing counterculture movements. "This stays true from the last 60 years to today,” he says. As creative director, McKoy focuses much of his attention on the brand’s image and storied history, which he believes are paramount to its ongoing success. "We don't design to get into trends or fashion or things that are happening,” he says. "What we do to stay relevant is outside of the realm of products."

Instead, McKoy’s team spends much of its time getting to know potential new customer bases on a personal level by engaging in conversations on platforms native to Gen Z like TikTok, nurturing young talent through an in-house apprentice program, and holding events that fit both Gen Z’s interests and the brand’s. Rather than trying to sell them boots outright, Dr. Martens works diligently to empower these groups and be in touch with them, which in turn keeps it young and enticing. "[The brand is] constantly absorbing culture,” says McKoy.

By keeping its product line fairly standard season after season, with Dr. Martens’s original 1460 boot remaining fundamentally the same since its development in 1960, the brand allows wearers to become the creators. "We take inspiration from Gen Z, from thrifting and taking classic styles and re-envisioning them and making them their own,” says Kristin Jones, Dr. Martens’s vice president of merchandising in the Americas. Heavy attention is paid toward the way that Gen Z consumers customize and style their Docs, "showcasing their individuality through lenses that matter to them, like TikTok,” Jones continues. The consistency and durability of Dr. Martens’s footwear is also how the brand appeals to Gen Z’s interest in sustainability. "There’s a [common] notion of constantly looking for something new, but actually, it’s probably more important to have something that’s consistent that you can have for the rest of your life,” says McKoy. "And that plays into what Dr. Martens is as a brand—it’s evergreen.”

Naturally, other brands do operate differently, with successful strategies and techniques that bear no resemblance to those in practice at Dr. Martens. But a simple approach is what’s worked for the brand for decades, and McKoy sees no reason to complicate matters. "We're not marketing to you to [get you to] buy [our shoes]. We do marketing to let you understand the brand,” he explains. "And if you then choose to adopt [it], amazing. If you don’t, and you choose something else, that’s your decision. At the end of the day, we will continue to do what Dr. Martens does really well, and that’s make great boots.”

There’s never been a big push for Gen Z, Jones says, just as there was never a big push to get Dr. Martens on musicians rather than blue-collar workers, who its boots were originally designed for. Instead, the company focuses its energy on highlighting those areas where its history aligns with shoppers’ interests and passions. "[From there,] we allow consumers to come and adopt the brand aesthetic as they see fit,” McKoy says.

With $360 billion at stake, not dedicating a great deal of energy toward Gen Z is a risky bet for a brand, especially one as big as Dr. Martens. And yet, between the celebrity sightings, consumer reports, and the 697.9 million total views on TikTok, it appears to have been one worth gambling on. By turning the tables on itself and focusing its attention on maintaining an authentic brand image, which is inherently alluring to counterculture groups, Dr. Martens has done what so many brands have tried and failed to do: score Gen Z.

There's no doubt that Gen Z is poised to solidify its Hollywood takeover any minute now. For starters, they've got 25-year-old Zendaya headlining blockbuster films, 21-year-old Yara Shahidi forming her own kind of activism, and 21-year-old Addison Rae successfully crossing over from TikTok influencer to bona fide celebrity. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Social media is still abuzz with head-turning red carpet looks from Monday night's MTV Video Music Awards. Lizzo made a statement in a custom Moschino dress with a feather boa, while both Gigi and Bella Hadid managed to make varying shades of beige look sultry. The award show red carpet was certainly memorable, but the outfits continued at the VMAs after-parties.

Hailee Steinfeld is the cover star of Who What Wear U.S.’s Holiday Issue, and her photo shoot leaned heavily on British brands including Christopher Kane, Solace London, Joseph and A.W.A.K.E. This reflects the British influence she has within her own wardrobe, as Hailee revealed that she always tries to re-create the outfits she sees in London.

“Oddly enough, I feel like when I go to London, I’m actively looking for what people are wearing to try to find it,” says “I like the idea of trying to find it there, picking up something you can’t here—there’s so much of that. I feel like people are so fashion-forward over there, and maybe they don’t even necessarily realise it because it’s what they’re used to. But shopping in London is great.”

As for the outfit that makes her feel the most confident? “There’s something that feels really good about putting on baggy sweats and a hoodie and feeling comfortable. And a pair of Doc Martens you can walk in as long as you need to. Then there’s the complete opposite of that when you wear something that’s more fitted.

“There’s that version of it where it’s sexy and cool and effortless, and then there’s the opposite. It’s the same feeling of feeling good within yourself. There’s something really good about putting an outfit together or planning for it. There are two extremes, and those are my favourites.”
