Sorry to My Black Coats, But Chic Women in NYC Convinced Me to Prioritize This Color Instead

To call a camel coat classic is the understatement of the season. Honestly, I would go as far as to say that the soft, chestnut-like shade—when speaking of outerwear—is even more timeless and lauded than black. And no, I'm not taking counterarguments at this time. Because of that, it's not exactly shocking that the chicest women in New York City tend to lean on their camel coats whenever the weather begins transitioning from what locals call "faux fall" to genuine fall and eventually winter, which just so happens to be taking place right now.

On Friday, supermodel Elle Macpherson was seen in Midtown near Rockefeller Center wearing just the coat in question: a double-breasted, hyper-tailored camel coat. She paired it with a white Dorothee Schumacher suit, a champagne-colored L'Agence satin blouse, and open-toe camel Black Suede Studio pumps. She finished the look with a taupe clasp bag, gold jewelry, and oversize black tortoiseshell sunglasses. Clean, sophisticated, and stylish—her look acted as further proof of the elite nature of camel coats.

But Macpherson's not the one woman in New York who relies heavily on camel outerwear this time of year. But she's not the only supermodel wearing it. Earlier this year, Gisele Bündchen was spotted in the city wearing a Frame camel coat that she sported all last winter, styling it with a charcoal turtleneck sweater, a Victoria Beckham denim skirt, and knee-high Celine boots.

For the longest time, I associated natural beauty products with unimpressive results. I know that's not fair, but in my defense, I started testing out natural beauty products years ago. Back then, there were only a few brands that were using all-natural ingredients, and because my options were extremely limited, I wasn't all that impressed with what I found.

Fast forward to the present day, and half of my beauty collection is made up of effective, innovative, and most importantly, impressive natural beauty products. While I have a few brands that I trust and rely on, there's one in particular that I've been loving lately. And apparently, I'm not the only one. Hailey Bieber and Gisele Bündchen are reportedly fans too. That's right—two supermodel It-girl icons that have access to pretty much every beauty product on the planet. Jojoba Eye Pencil in Black

Celebrity makeup artist Nikki Wolff (perhaps better known by her Instagram handle, @nikki_makeup), has used this eyeliner pencil on Bieber before. Many wooden eyeliner pencils are sharp and tough, but this one's different. Formulated with a combination of skin-soothing oils like jojoba, it nourishes the skin, conditions lashes, and never pulls or tugs on sensitive skin. It's one of the creamiest eyeliner pencils I've ever used.

Wolff used the classic black shade on Bieber, but I recommend adding some color to your collection. I love the shade Oro, which is shimmering gold, Gem, which is lilac purple, and Cerulean, which is a vivid sky blue. I alternate between all three, especially in the summer when I'm inspired to wear brighter makeup.

Wearing a trench coat with nothing else might be a popular cliché in rom-coms, but when it's done right, the result is far from expected or played out. It's genius. If you don't believe me, just take Gisele Bündchen's word for it. After all, she wore that exact outfit to a dinner in New York City during fashion week. Once you see the look in full, you'll be running to your outerwear closet to copy the styling hack for your next night out.

For the dinner, which was hosted by Frame at Indochine in NoHo, the supermodel donned an all-black leather trench coat from the denim brand belted tightly at the waist in a way that created a dress-like appearance. With it, she wore a pair of Balenciaga knee-high boots, a simple black clutch, and a bevy of gold bangles. That's it—there was no dress or anything underneath in sight.

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen just stepped out on the red carpet at the Met Gala looking absolutely stunning in silky Versace dress truly fit for an angel. And while we loved the gown for its unique silhouette and beautiful colour, what we love even more is that fact that Bündchen specifically sought out an “eco dress”, and needless to say, Versace provided. In an Instagram photo that gave a little preview of the gown, Bundchen shared that her dress was made of organic fabrics and that everything was certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard.

We're so happy to see someone as influential as Bündchen advocating for sustainability in fashion—and it’s not the first time she’s taken a stance. Marie Claire reports that back in 2014 she wore an eco-friendly dress to the Rainforest Alliance Gala, as well as a sustainably sourced Stella McCartney dress to the Green Carpet Fashion Awards in September, according to InStyle.

There’s no denying that red carpet gowns can tend to be extravagant and are typically only worn one time; so in terms of sustainability, they’re less-than-ideal. Hopefully, other celebrities will follow Bündchen’s lead... Who knows? Perhaps sustainable red carpet fashion can set off a wave of sustainable fashion elsewhere, including in our everyday wardrobes. While we can only wait and see if other stars will follow her lead, Bündchen deserves recognition for the eco-fashion she’s supported thus far. Gearing up for a rainy day usually involves tugging on a clunky pair of rain boots and stuffing an umbrella into our bags. But, if you're taking a page out of Giselle Bündchen's book, no matter the weather pumps are the way to go. The model stepped out in rainy New York City in a polished look that we're deeming totally impressive given the weather. Her skinny jeans and biker jacket are a chic take on seasonal dressing, but a simple pair of black suede pumps are the standout element of her ensemble.

Models are used to walking the runway in all kinds of tricky situations, so it's no big surprise Bündchen can navigate the slippery streets (and, oh yeah, giant puddles) so sure-footedly. Another year, another top spot on Forbes's Top Paid Models list for Gisele Bündchen. The 36-year-old Brazilian supermodel leads the world's top-earning models, raking in $30.5 million last year. Newer It-girl models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid also made the list—in third and fifth place, respectively—but Gisele has quite the track record when it comes to her payday. The legendary model has been the highest earner in the modeling world since 2002. (That's 14 consecutive years, for those of you counting.)

According to the annual list, the bona fide model has managed to hold down the top spot for over a decade thanks to major contracts with the likes of Chanel, Pantene, and Brazil's SkyTV. The veteran runway star out-earned fellow Brazilian model and the longest-running Victoria's Secret Angel, Adriana Lima, who came in second place by $20 million. Not too shabby for a girl who was once told she'd never be on a magazine cover. Congrats, Gisele!

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen celebrated her 35th birthday over the weekend, and she reminded the world of a lesser-discussed fact: She has a twin sister.

She posted a little collage of her and her fraternal twin sister, Patricia—who also happens to be her manager—wishing "Pati" a happy birthday. Despite the fact that Gisele is the world's top-earning model, married to famous football star Tom Brady, and followed around everywhere she goes, Patricia has managed to keep a relatively low profile through it all. (And, less surprisingly, she is gorgeous.)

You Won't Believe Which Model Makes the Most Money

Forbes has released its annual list of the world's highest-paid models, based on data gathered on the 2013 fiscal year. Obviously, there are some familiar names on this list: Moss, Upton, Kerr, and Kloss all have their rightful place on the magazine's list of the top 21 most well-paid models in the world.

But perhaps more surprising is who managed to make their way to the top few spots on the list. Here's a hint: the top-earning model in 2013 made an unbelievable $47 million last year, while the second-place model made a relatively modest $8 million.

So, who made the most cash in 2013? Scroll down to see the top 10 most high-earning models last year!

The Russian model and It-girl came in 10th place, raking in an impressive $4 million in 2013.

Rhoda made $5 million in 2013, landing her in ninth place.

Ambrosio made $5 million in 2013, putting her in eighth place.

Liu Wen made a jaw-dropping $7 million in 2013, landing her in seventh place.

Kerr, who stars in six campaigns for the F/W 14 season, made a whopping $7 million last year.

Upton made $7 million in 2013, landing her in fifth place.

The 40-year-old Moss made $7 million in 2013, though as we've seen, her assets soar in the $25-million range.

Lima's $8 million take-home in 2013 helped bump her into the top-three highest-paid models in the world.

Perhaps most surprising: Doutzen Kroes comes in at second place, having taken home $8 million in 2013.

The number-one highest-paid model in the world? GIsele Bündchen, who crushed her competition by raking in a staggering $47 million in 2013.
