Luxury travelers are harder to impress than ever. Farm-to-table dining, world-class service, endless amenities, and the rare ability to make you feel like the only guest on the property are no longer differentiators—they're expectations. The stylish hotels receiving all the buzz in 2026 aren't excelling in just one area—they're delivering exceptional experiences across the board. That's exactly why Rosewood Mandarina has become the latest obsession among the fashion and in-the-know travel set.

Tucked along Mexico's Pacific coastline in the Riviera Nayarit, about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta International Airport, sits Rosewood Mandarina. It's set on 565 acres, which is grand in scale but feels deeply intimate. It's less like a resort and more like a private world. It unfolds across a lush landscape where the jungle, beach, and mountains converge, creating a setting that instantly justifies every mile traveled to get there.

At just over one year old (opened in April 2025), it's still far from being touched by everyone. Luckily, though, I had the opportunity to visit at the end of May and quickly understood the appeal—it has it all. The world-class experience began the moment I landed. A private driver greeted me at the airport and brought me through the gates (tight security, so I instantly felt safe, must I add), where I was welcomed with a sacred tejuino (a pineapple-meets-fermented-corn beverage) in a beautiful ceramic cup. It was a thoughtful introduction to a three-night stay defined by warm hospitality, local culture, and meticulous attention to detail. Keep reading to discover more about the pampering and the endless experiences Rosewood Mandarina has to offer, as well as the top summer fashion travel trends I packed.

The first thing you'll notice when you arrive at Rosewood Mandarina is the feeling that you've entered a world of its own—one carved between rainforest-covered mountains and the sea. There's an immediate sense of calm that settles over you, grounding you in nature and setting the tone for the restorative and magical stay ahead.

After a seamless check-in process, you're introduced to your personal butler, who serves as your dedicated point of contact throughout your stay. Whether finalizing dinner reservations, booking excursions, ordering room service, or requesting that your bath be drawn for your evening wind-down, they're there for you. After that, your butler will give you a tour of the property, which for me started with sharing insight on how Rosewood Mandarina honors Mexican culture through art and design.

The influences are impossible to miss. In the lobby, the roofing and walls are made of materials that look like ropes, inspired by looms used by the Indigenous people to make clothes, thread by thread. There is also beautiful Huichol beadwork, known as "chaquira," which my butler told me is made by placing each bead individually. Also featured are colorful murals, stamped linen canvases, and beaded animal figures found throughout the resort, created by artists whose work is rooted in Mexico and has strong ties to the Pacific Coast. Rosewood Mandarina also celebrates Mexican heritage at The Artisan Boutique, located by the beach, which offers a curated selection of Mexican ceramics, woven vessels, textiles, and authentic crafts that reflect the region's textures and traditions.

After exploring the lobby, you'll be transported to your suite or villa via a private golf cart. You'll quickly notice that the property's design clearly prioritizes guests' privacy. While some accommodations are paired within the same structure, each has its own walkway and entrance. I stayed in a Flatland Suite, located on the lowest flat part of the property, but there are also ocean-view mountain suites, poolside suites, poolside villas, and mountaintop villas. No matter the type, each accommodation is just as picturesque and spacious as the next, and all come with a private plunge pool, bathtub, outdoor shower, a terrace, and butler service.

For those who are curious if I'd return, the answer is an easy yes. Rosewood Mandarina truly has it all, and three nights was a good amount of time to spend there, but certainly not enough.

Rosewood Mandarina offers something for those who want relaxation and for those who want adventure. As for the experiences, guests can book a guided hike through the rainforest and see the ancient tree, called La Abuela, zip-line through the jungle, surf on the Pacific, or take tennis or pickleball lessons. The property also features a nine-hole par-three course plus an additional challenge hole. The polo and equestrian center is not to be missed, though. Guests can enjoy horseback and polo lessons as well as trail rides that lead to the beach. You might even be able to catch a polo tournament. Lastly, cooking and cocktail-making classes are offered.

During my stay, I participated in the cooking class, which I highly recommend. It was very hands-on. I learned how to make homemade corn tortillas using a roller, then a tortilla press. I also made guacamole and salsa using the molcajete (a tool made of hand-carved volcanic rock). The class wrapped up with a chance to enjoy the creations alongside chicken and steak fajitas.

The culinary experience at Rosewood Mandarina is so exceptional that there is no need to venture beyond the resort for a meal. Guests can enjoy three distinct restaurants and a cliffside cocktail bar, Barra Peñasco, which has a tree house–inspired aesthetic. During my visit, it featured a residency by Mexico City's Handshake Speakeasy, currently celebrated as the second-best bar globally for its creative mixology and inviting atmosphere.

For food, the options range from refined Japanese to Spanish coastal cuisine. Toppu is the mountaintop Japanese restaurant led by chef Diego Muñoz, complete with an open irori, a sushi counter, and a special room that can accommodate large parties. The menu features everything from traditional tuna cut rolls to marinated fried chicken. For a taste of Spanish cuisine, you can head to Buena Onda, a casual restaurant set right on the beach. It offers everything from grilled seafood and tapas to paellas and sangria. Highly recommend booking a reservation for sunset. Last but not least is Buena Onda, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu captures the essence of true Mexican home cooking—think tortilla soup, ceviche, and crudos.

The Asaya Spa is one of the most special places on the property. Designed around two magnificent ancient parota trees, its square layout creates a serene sanctuary that feels deeply connected to the natural world. The towering trees lend a powerful, grounding energy, symbolizing the connection between Mother Earth and nature. Even if you don't book a treatment, I highly recommend visiting the spa just to see it.

Beyond the beautiful design, the spa offers endless wellness experiences. There's a 24-hour fitness center, a selection of Wixárika-inspired treatments, a sauna, a steam room, and a cold plunge pool. I enjoyed a deep-tissue massage, customized with an aromatic oil chosen to match my intention for the day—whether belief, resilience, visualization, or mindfulness. My therapist, Linda, started the treatment by rubbing the oil in her hands and placing them over my nose, inviting me to inhale its earthy aroma and relax my body. The massage itself was thoughtful and restorative, with every movement feeling purposeful. She concluded the experience with a soothing sound bath.

During my stay, I had the opportunity to join a wellness retreat hosted by Pilates instructor Amanda Kassar of Core Club in L.A. While I wasn't "officially" part of the retreat, I was welcomed to join the experience and quickly understood why so many women travel to Kassar's event or her classes on a daily basis.

"I chose Rosewood Mandarina because the property lent itself to amazing spots to do all of my classes," Kassar tells me. "I was able to [have a class] in the jungle, next to the beach, on top of the mountain overlooking the view, and underneath a sacred tree." She also notes that there is so much for retreat guests to do in their free time—tennis, pickleball, hiking, and horseback riding. "The spa is amazing too," she adds. "You don't have to leave, and the food and the hospitality are unmatched."

The retreat brought together an incredible group of women, many of whom have been longtime members of Kassar's community. What stood out wasn't just the backdrops for the Pilates sessions or the way I saw and felt results in my body after just two classes, but the genuine connections formed. There was a sense of ease and camaraderie that felt rare and refreshing.

"What sets my retreat apart from others is the community that I've built," Kassar says. "People enjoy spending time with each other, meeting one another, and working out together really brings that connection."

Although Pilates classes were offered twice a day—one at 7 a.m. and another at 5 p.m.—the retreat felt less like a fitness getaway and more like an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and others. This was Core Club's first retreat at Rosewood Mandarina, but Kassar told me she'd love to return to the property. She also has her sights set on Rosewood Mayakoba. So keep your eyes peeled. I know I will.

Packing for Rosewood Mandarina requires a suitcase that strikes a balance between adventure and luxury. One moment you might be hiking, zip-lining, or squeezing in a sunrise workout, and the next you're settling into a lounge chair with nowhere to be but the beach, and later grabbing drinks at a cocktail bar that closely resembles a tree house.

For the active side of the trip, I packed leggings, athletic shorts, sports bras, and lightweight tanks. I also thankfully brought a light, sporty layer, which I threw over my athleisure for early morning workouts. The rest of my wardrobe centered around easy resort dressing.

During the day, I lived in bikinis and one-piece swimsuits paired with oversize linen button-down shirts, sarongs, colorful flip-flops, all of which I completed with beaded necklaces and different raffia bags. The rooms are stocked with a chic beach tote for guests to use, so if you happen to forget one, no worries.

Evenings call for a slightly elevated version of that same effortless seaside aesthetic. I packed three lightweight, neutral maxi dresses and styled them with fun accessories such as a beaded pouch bag and bold earrings. For shoes, I alternated between black and ivory kitten-heel flip-flops, polished with the heels yet still retaining that casual, laid-back edge from the thong design. And because protecting your skin from the sun is essential, as any luxury traveler in 2026 knows, I have to add that a spray tan is a warm-weather vacation must. I got mine from Golden Girls in NYC, which I couldn't recommend more. The natural and lasting tan was the perfect finishing touch, allowing me to feel confident in any of my outfits.

By now it's a well-known fact that all three seasons of HBO's The White Lotus were filmed on-site at a Four Seasons property. There's no coincidence there, by the way. The hospitality brand is associated with all things serene luxury, and the name alone conjures images of fluffy bathrobes, spacious suites, and sprawling, minimalist-designed resorts that are, quite literally, the stuff of television fantasies. So when I caught wind of the newest location to open its doors, I was immediately all ears—and not before too long on the soonest flight out.

The Four Seasons Resort Cabo Del Sol arrived in 2024 to Cabo San Lucas and quickly earned a ranking as the number one resort in the world, according to Condé Nast. Cabo Del Sol marks the second Four Seasons location in the Baja region, but it's set on a different stretch of coastline from its sister property at Costa Palmas and with a distinct, fresh-faced feel. Despite the droves of sprawling resorts that line the Cabo coastline, this new location was, impressively, completely custom-built for the project, which gave the whole experience another level of luxury—every little corner was brand-new, sparklingly clean, and expertly designed. Buzz around the hotel has steadily grown since it first arrived, and when I visited a year out from opening, it certainly felt like a well-oiled machine. Ahead, an inside look at the Four Seasons Resort Cabo Del Sol and all the details to know for an upcoming visit.

As someone who lived in L.A. for six years, I'm all too familiar with the go-to vacation spots of the city's most stylish residents, and Cabo is one place that will continue to endure as long as there are nonstop flights shuttling Angelenos up and down the Pacific Coast. The thing about Cabo is that the sheer volume of resorts to choose from can be overwhelming, to say the least, but after my visit I can attest that all the standards and expectations I had for the Four Seasons brand were met—and then some.

While I'm all for staying in an older resort if there's a compelling history, there's something to be said about the experience of a brand-new property while it's in its infancy, and Cabo Del Sol was completely custom-built from the ground up, meaning that everything from how you flow through the space to the details and finishings was well thought-out. The hotel comprises 96 guest rooms and suites, plus 61 residences, villas, and estates, though each one feels private and considered. The buildings are arranged in an amphitheater-inspired format so each room has a perfect ocean view. It features three distinct restaurants, a rooftop bar, two expansive pools (one family-friendly, one adults-only) plus one just for the fitness area, and a sprawling spa complete with contrast-therapy circuits.

It can't be a conversation about a Four Seasons property without a mention of the design aesthetic. The brand at large has become synonymous with a certain type of high-touch luxury that's somehow consistent (but still localized) across more than 130 destinations worldwide. At Cabo Del Sol, I'd describe the architecture as clean, modern, and minimal, but it is Mexico after all, and elements of traditional Spanish revival style were featured throughout the resort through the dramatic curved archways, colored tile, and terra-cotta roofs that dot the property. Not to harp too much on the White Lotus undertones, but standing in the open-air lobby looking out at the unrestricted view of the Pacific through one of the porticos, it was hard not to feel like I'd stepped into an alternative fourth season of the show set in Baja. I half-anticipated seeing Jennifer Coolidge's Tanya sipping on a spicy marg on one of the plush cloud couches.

It's all designed around a modern hacienda-style village at the heart of the resort layout that's meant to evoke how a traditional Mexican town is set up with an open-air mercado, artist's studio, and several retail boutiques featuring local designers. This feature makes the hotel unique and lends more of a community feel. In the three short days I spent there, I found myself getting into somewhat of a morning routine as I walked through the makeshift town square to grab a coffee before heading to the gym for a sweat. Maybe it's the New Yorker in me, but I relished in this little routine before planting myself on a pool lounger for the day.

One thing about staying at a Four Seasons? They're going to make you feel like they've rolled out the red carpet for you. From the moment I landed and was scooped up by a private airport transfer, the experience continued at every turn. Obviously, personal preferences weigh heavy, but I found the service to be speedy and attentive but not overbearing—there was always someone at the ready when I needed them, but I never felt like anyone was hovering, if that makes sense.

An iPad was set up in my room for just about any request I could think up, whether that was as standard as ordering room service or as niche as my last-minute request for nail polish remover when I had to redo my pedicure (delivered in a Four Seasons–branded glass container, in case you were curious). But it also looked like the early birthday balloon arrangement and pastry assortment that greeted me in my room or the mini mango and Tajin popsicles that were delivered each afternoon by the pool.

I'm not sure what my expectation was for the food when coming here, but anything I had in mind beforehand was quickly blown out of the water. Each meal delighted me more than the last, and the variety among the three on-site restaurants and rooftop bar were as impressive as the dishes themselves. Incredibly fresh sushi, a Michelin-worthy wine program, and a rooftop bar with sweeping views of the coastline are just a few of the highlights.

At Sora, the rooftop bar with the most stunning sunset views, the menu of small bites like ceviche and guac and cocktails was so good it turned into a full-blown dinner. At Coraluz, I had some of the freshest fish tacos for lunch while overlooking the beach. But the most special meal of my stay and the one I'd fly back just to have again was at Cayao, the Richard Sandoval–designed menu that blends Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. Right away, I knew my dinner would be highly memorable when it started with a martini mixed table-side from a specialty bar cart. The melt-in-your-mouth otoro and hamachi nigiri were highlights, as was the ishiyaki hot stone, where slices of raw tenderloin cooked right at the table.

A moment for the spa—and yes, the gym, too. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was truly one of the most beautiful hotel gyms I've ever stepped foot in, if you can even call it a gym. Designed by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, it was more like an entire wing dedicated to the resort's fitness offering, complete with a main room for weights and cardio machines where unobstructed views allow you to look straight out to the Pacific and beyond, a group fitness studio for daily Pilates and yoga classes, a fitness terrace, and separate lap pool.

As for the spa, it's set up like its own mini resort within the resort, where each of the 10 treatment rooms are their own bungalows separated by a lush stone pathway. You need not book a treatment to partake, however, as both the men's and women's facilities are complete with a contrast-therapy circuit that includes a steam room, infrared sauna, and hot and cold plunges.

Guest rooms here start at 850 square feet, while casitas and suites can go up to 2000. Even though my room was the standard layout, it felt like I'd been upgraded with features like twin indoor and outdoor showers and a vanity and dressing-room area that was equal to the already-outsize bathroom, which, as someone who considers the getting-ready process its own line item on an itinerary, I probably spend the most time in. The balcony, too, which was easily the size of my studio apartment in Manhattan, was complete with a wide couch and full dining setup.

The best part about a hotel bathroom isn't merely the plush towels or the logo-adorned bathrobe, though Cabo Del Sol delivered on both accounts, but good bath products. Here, they arrived courtesy of Diptyque and smelled like heaven.

A Cabo packing list doesn't vary much from season to season, and I packed according to what I always reach for on a beach vacation. Generally speaking, the days are hot and the nights cool off slightly, so my wardrobe consisted of flowy, elegant silhouettes for the day that I could easily layer over a swimsuit and head to a beachside lunch. At night, I reached for chic maxi dresses that I paired with kitten-heel sandals and pretty flats. I matched the resort's sleek and minimalist design with an aesthetic of black and ivory, including standout items like a Posse column dress, silk cape top, and vanity-case bag.

In every city I visit often, I have a favorite hotel, the one that always feels like coming home. In Milan, that place is Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan. Nestled in the heart of Milan's historic center, Casa Brera brings a refined, contemporary energy to the city's most artistic—and one of my favorite—neighborhoods. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the hotel blends warm Italian modernism with subtle nods to Brera's creative heritage. Think rich textures, sculptural lighting, and a palette inspired by Lombardy's earthy tones. Its rooftop offers sweeping Duomo views and a lively social atmosphere, and downstairs, the dining spaces feel polished yet relaxed, making it a stylish base that captures Milan's effortless mix of culture, design, and cosmopolitan life. The best part is that the hotel places you right in the heart of the action, with everything you'd want to see in Milan just a short walk away.

The Design Details

Design lovers will appreciate how thoughtfully the building's history has been woven into the hotel's interiors. Originally conceived in the 1950s by architect Pietro Lingeri, a key figure of Italian rationalism, the structure's geometric language reappears throughout the property in subtle ways, from patterned floors and ceilings to marble detailing that echoes the building's façade.

Inside, Urquiola softens those architectural lines with layered textures, bold color accents, and carefully chosen furnishings, creating interiors that feel unmistakably Milanese.

Art plays a quiet but important role in the hotel's identity through contemporary works placed throughout the public spaces. One of the most striking pieces is a photograph by celebrated fashion photographer Tim Walker displayed in the Living Lounge, reinforcing the hotel's connection to Milan's creative scene.

The lobby and Living Lounge are among the hotel's most visually striking spaces, with checkerboard patterns on the floors and ceilings that echo the building's rationalist geometry. Large semicircular sofas, dark-blue and soft-green lounge seating, and a striking green marble counter create a space that feels equal parts living room and design showroom. Many of the furnishings were designed by Urquiola herself for brands such as Cassina, Andreu World, and Moroso.

Eat and Sip

The food and drink scene at Casa Brera feels very true to Milan: stylish, social, and designed as much for lingering as for dining. Rather than centering a single restaurant, the hotel unfolds through a series of spaces that naturally shift from morning coffee to late-night cocktails.

The hotel's culinary program is overseen by Michelin-starred chef Andrea Berton, who guides the menus across several venues, each with its own distinct atmosphere.

The Living Lounge serves as the hotel's social heart, offering all-day dining and a classic Milanese aperitivo experience. Guests can settle in with a drink inside or head out to the leafy terrace overlooking Piazzetta Bossi, where the pace slows and the scene becomes quintessentially Milanese.

Across the way, Odachi introduces a quieter, more intimate setting. Led by acclaimed chef Haruo Ichikawa, the first Japanese chef to earn a Michelin star in Italy, the restaurant focuses on refined Japanese cuisine served in a warm space lined with Canaletto walnut. (Pro tip: If you're craving something more immersive, ask about the omakase experience, which is available by reservation.)

The hotel's signature Italian restaurant, Scena, takes a classic approach, focusing on Milanese and Italian dishes with subtle contemporary touches under executive chef Francesco Bonato. The dining room itself feels almost gallery-like, framed by artistic mirrors by Giovanni Botticelli and Paola Paronetto alongside a sculptural work by Hans Schüle.

Upstairs, Etereo Skybar & Restaurant anchors the rooftop. Perched on the eighth floor, it offers sweeping 360-degree views across the city. The menu leans toward elegant Italian seafood, and the cocktails—often theatrically finished tableside—draw inspiration from Milan's worlds of fashion, art, and design.

Rooms and Suites

Casa Brera has 101 spacious and modern guest rooms and 15 suites, all designed to reflect Milan's culture of craftsmanship and design. Rooms feature Poliform furniture alongside materials like walnut wood, fior di pesco marble, backlit brass, and printed glass—subtle details that mirror the colors and textures of the city itself.

The two largest suites are certified head-turners. The Brera Suite showcases Milanese elegance with a spacious bedroom, separate lounge, and large terrace overlooking Brera's lively streets. A bold blue sofa in the lounge frames the terrace view through floor-to-ceiling glass doors. The presidential Milanese Suite features a grand living and dining area with designer Dudet armchairs, seamlessly connecting to two terraces—one for lounging, one dining for up to 10—surrounded by greenery and city views.

Spa and Wellness

While Casa Brera doesn't have a traditional spa, it still offers a few thoughtful wellness touches. The rooftop pool and terrace provide a stylish place to cool off during Milan's warmer months, and sun beds and lounge seating are positioned to take in sweeping views of the Duomo. The terrace flows seamlessly into the rooftop bar area, creating a relaxed social space where guests can move easily between swimming, lounging, and drinking sunset cocktails.

For those looking to keep up with workouts while traveling, the fitness center is well-equipped with cardio machines, rowing equipment, and a full range of free weights and strength-training machines.

The Service

This was arguably one of the best hospitality experiences I've had this year. From the bellhop who carries your bags to the concierge who checks you in and answers your questions throughout your stay to the breakfast waiters, almost everyone remembers your name. Every staff member is warm, professional, and genuinely helpful, and best of all, they truly seem happy to be there.

Around the Hotel

As the hotel is situated in the heart of Milan's most design-forward neighborhood, the best thing about a stay at Casa Brera is its optimal location. Right around the corner from Via Brera and its neighboring streets, you are a stone's throw from some of my favorite shops and design haunts. For design lovers, Dimorestudio, one of Milan's most renowned studios, is just a short walk from the hotel. Casa Milana, the home studio of Italian furniture designer Mario Milana, can be visited by appointment. If it's fashion you're going for, shop at Massimo Alba and buy vintage at Cavalli e Nastri and Vintage Delirium, beautiful dresses (especially for brides!) at the lovely Luisa Beccaria shop, and classic Italian friulane slip-on shoes and Mary Janes at Vibi Venezia. You'll find the best stationery at Pettinaroli and soaps and perfume at Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, an institution. If you're open to walking a bit outside of Brera, it's worth visiting Emily Levine for her lovely block-print vacation wardrobe pieces and signature bags made of old sari fabrics, A di Gaeta for the best leather boots, and Laboratorio Paravicini for hand‑painted ceramics on white earthenware.

As soon as I began planning my trip to Mallorca, Spain, last summer, every one of my fashion-industry friends I mentioned it to had the same response: Are you staying at Hotel Corazón? It wasn't a matter of if I would book there but simply when. After I reported on it for Who What Wear's travel guide to the Balearic island last year, the hotel shot up to the top of my list and, luckily for me, had two nights magically still available close to my dates. I snagged them faster than I've ever made any purchase on The RealReal (that's saying a lot) and rearranged my plans to make it work. When all your most stylish friends and fashion-industry peers insist that it's their favorite hotel in the world, you have no choice but to follow their lead.

Flashback to last July, I was driving my rental car through the switchbacks of the Tramuntana mountains on the island's north side with the windows down and sun filtering through. The hotel is set at the top of the canyon, tucked behind a wrought iron gate so nondescript I had to double back just to locate it. It set the tone for the rest of the Corazón experience: I felt less like I was checking into a hotel and more like I was being invited into a friend's sprawling family estate.

Nestled high in the Tramuntana mountains, the hotel is situated between the towns of Deià and Sóller and just a quick five-minute drive through the canyon down to the nearest cala—though with all the cozy corners surrounding the pool deck and garden, there are few reasons good enough reason to ever leave. Opened in 2023 by British fashion photographer Kate Bellm and her partner, Spanish artist Edgar Lopez, Hotel Corazón is a true creative project in every sense with history and handpicked works of art seeping from every wall. It's no wonder that high-profile figures from the fashion, art, and entertainment worlds make up the majority of the guest log. Since the hotel shies away from traditional marketing, the vibe is still very much word of mouth. If you know, you know.

Speaking of history, the structure itself is housed in an impeccably restored 18th century finca complete with a variety of multi-bedroom suites and shared spaces that feel less like a lobby and more like a living room. The property is comprised of just 15 suites, making it challenging to book (dates for the summer months tend to sell out by March) but giving it an intimate feel.

At Corazón, all roads lead to the terrace. The sprawling terra-cotta space serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sunset drinks, so unless you decide to take a meal by the pool, you'll be experiencing the space at various times throughout the day. Pro tip: Snag a spot at one of the cushioned bunches at the far edge for the best view of the sun setting over the canyon. It's pure magic.

Farm-to-table isn't merely a buzzword. At Corazón, it's a way of life. The farm sits steps away from the kitchen and is a main source of fresh produce for the menu. As for the dishes themselves, everything down to the fruit plate I ordered at breakfast arrives as aesthetically pleasing as possible, a nod to the hotel's design-led roots. Don't even get me started on the wine list. I'm still thinking about this one bottle of orange wine months later.

Every space is curated with an artist's eye, from the interior design choices to the art books that line the shelves. In the living room, titles from avant-garde filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky live next to comics from French publisher Humanoids. Works of art are sprinkled throughout the property, including images from Bellm's personal photography archive. The result is a space that's made by artists, for artists.

Let's face it—the pool is the main event. The signature straw umbrellas and vivid orange loungers are pure Instagram fodder, but I can say with certainty that the experience is equally as heavenly as it looks. It's the kind of space where time seems to both stand still and fly by. I myself had several days that began with a poolside iced coffee and stretched onward through lunch and happy hour. Any meal, drink, or snack can (and should) be ordered right to your lounger.

"Down-to-earth and bohemian but still incredibly stylish" is how I'd describe the clientele. Aviator sunglasses and vivid printed sarongs were among the first things I spotted guests wearing when I arrived, and my own Mallorcan wardrobe was similarly comprised of low-key, airy pieces with a healthy dose of personality-driven styling through beaded necklaces, acetate bangles, and mesh bags.

Verbier has long been the Alps' high-octane playground. Think big terrain, big personalities, and an après-ski scene that skews as hard-charging as the off-piste slopes. It's glamorous, a little wild, and unapologetically social, drawing everyone from serious free riders to jet-setting weekenders and even some celebrity regulars, from the Beckhams to Leonardo DiCaprio.

After many years, I returned to Verbier for a stay at Experimental Chalet, which I thought slotted neatly into that energy, bringing the group's effortlessly cool Parisian sensibility to the mountains. It was Experimental's first chalet-style hotel and, in my view, remains the strongest offering in its portfolio—setting the template later followed by Experimental Chalet Val d'Isère, which opened last year. Set in the heart of town, Experimental Chalet Verbier blends design-forward interiors with a buzzy cocktail bar and DJ-fueled nights that feel more fashion week than ski week with fireside Negronis, a stylish crowd, and just the right amount of après-ski nightlife.

Hotel Overview: Experimental Chalet Verbier

The hotel has 39 rooms and suites, ranging from cozy crash pads to larger suites with terraces, outdoor jacuzzis, and mountain views. The design by Milan-based architect Fabrizio Casiraghi feels like a modern alpine chalet filtered through a Parisian lens: warm woods, rich colors, clean lines, and a mood that's intimate rather than rustic. The hotel features a restaurant that extends off of the check-in desk, the Experimental Cocktail Club bar, a small spa, and an equipment room. It's stylish without being precious, like a cool friend's ski house rather than a traditional luxury lodge.

From Fireside Plates to Late-Night Cocktails

Food and drink are at the heart of the experience. The restaurant on the ground floor, Saint Bernard, leans into Alpine classics with a contemporary twist, spotlighting local ingredients in a setting that's relaxed but elevated. The highlights include Trout Grenobloise with Brown Butter, Lemon, Capers, and Croutons; Roasted Perch with Vichyssoise and Crispy Potatoes; and Fresh Tagliatelle With Lobster with Saffron Bisque, Lemon, and Tarragon. Upstairs, the Experimental Cocktail Club is one of the liveliest spots in town—equal parts fireside hangout and late-night launchpad—with well-made cocktails and a crowd that skews fashionable, social, and fun.

Soak, Sip, Repeat

For recovery, there's a compact but well-done spa in partnership with Biologique Recherche featuring three treatment rooms, a sauna, a hammam, a cold plunge pool, and an outdoor jacuzzi—perfect after a long day on the slopes. My favorite little "if you know, you know" moment is the outdoor jacuzzi that looks straight into the bar. Guests can soak in the warm water while ordering a cocktail directly from the bartender by just knocking on the window next to the tub without missing a moment of the après-ski energy. It's a perfectly indulgent way to recover and stay part of the fun. For those who want to keep the night going, the hotel sits directly above Farm Club, Verbier's most iconic nightclub, making it dangerously easy to go from après to very late night.

Verbier Nights

Right downstairs, Farm Club is Verbier's legendary nightlife destination—an intimate, stylish spot with real mountain‑town pedigree. Since opening in 1971, it's been the place where après turns into all‑night revelry, and it's beloved by locals and travelers alike for its mix of top DJs and a cosmopolitan crowd. With the club now part of Experimental, guests can dance late into the night and then tumble upstairs to bed, ready to do it all over in the morning.

A White-Glove Ski Experience

For an even more seamless white-glove experience, the hotel partners with the village's ski shop, Les Ruinettes, for all ski-equipment rentals as well as clothing and goggles if needed. Everything can be arranged directly at the shop, then delivered to and stored in the hotel's downstairs ski room, where secure lockers and glove and boot warmers are provided for each guest.

Japan has been at the top of my travel list for many years, and I visited for the first time this fall to check into the Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo. The exquisite hotel fuses the Italian heritage of the iconic fashion house alongside traditional and contemporary Japanese design. Situated in the Yaesu district just next to the bustling Ginza shopping and dining district, it overlooks the Imperial Palace, Mount Fuji, and the Tokyo Train Station.

The Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo was recently named the #1 hotel in both Japan and Tokyo, as well as the #15 hotel in the world by The World's 50 Best, Opened less than two years ago in April 2023, the hotel is among the newest to rank so highly on the prestigious list of the top hotels across the globe. Ahead, an inside look at the Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo and all of the details to know for an upcoming visit.

Hotel Overview: Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo

Perched on floors 40 to 45 of a skyscraper in the Yaesu district, the Bvlgari Hotel Tokyo has sweeping views overlooking the sprawling city. The hotel fuses a sophisticated blend of contemporary Italian design with touches of Japanese tradition, bringing together the rich history of Bvlgari’s house codes with local artisans and culture.

There are a total of 98 rooms and suites within the property. The views from the rooms are so impressive that it is practically a moment of theater every time you walk in—once the front door opens, the curtains in front of the windows cascade open to unveil the spectacular city views behind them through a full-length floor-to-celing glass façade.

The Finer Details

Multiple restaurants are set within the property, including the Michelin-star Il Ristorante - Niko Romito, the 8-seat Sushi Hōseki for an intimate omakase sushi experience, and The Bvlgari Bar with a Mediterranean menu. Breakfast—available at Il Ristorante or in-room for room service—was impressive and available in a range of menu options including Japanese, Western, Chinese, and Fitness.

For the wellness-minded, there is a beautiful Bvlgari gym designed in a wood-paneled room with workout equipment and class offerings. Next door, the spa has 9 treatment rooms with windows overlooking Tokyo from the 40th floor and luxurious products, including Augustinus Bader. I experienced a signature massage which was so relaxing, I had to make an effort to stay awake for it. After leaving the massage, I visited the pool—a gorgeous indoor swimming pool designed with emerald green mosaic tiles and lounge chairs to relax alongside it.

What to Pack

Though a packing list for Tokyo invariably changes from season to season, I headed there during the fall and added seasonal pieces to my suitcase accordingly. The temperatures were crisp yet refreshing, so layering was key, including staples such as medium-weight jackets, knits, jeans, and loafers. We also encountered some moments of rain, so a trench coat and boots were essential. For dinners, dresses and heels were perfect for Michelin-star restaurants with smart dress codes.

The Delta One Experience

For the long haul trip from New York to Tokyo, I boarded a flight from JFK to LAX, with a connection from LAX to HND aboard Delta One. The Delta One experience begins before you even board the flight. At both JFK and LAX, there are special entrances for Delta One ticket holders, so getting through security was a breeze. The Delta One experience also includes access to the Delta One lounges—at JFK, a three-course dinner in the JFK lounge where the menu included everything from tuna tartare to a burger; at LAX, breakfast with options that ranged from chilaquiles to avocado toast to fresh cinnamon buns by local Los Angeles chef, Squirl. When it came time to board, a Porsche car service took me straight from the lounge to the door of the plane without needing to traverse the airport or walk to the gate.

The in-flight experience brought a premium travel experience to the air, including lie-flat seats. While I’d experienced Delta One planes to domestic and European destinations in the past, the Airbus 350-900 planes on the LAX-HND route are distinct with their enclosed suite-style seats, new Missoni kits with in-flight essentials that are placed at each chair as well as plush Missoni bedding, and unique offerings including Tattinger champagne and Japanese menu options from Chef Norio Ueno.

For as long as I can remember, Las Ventanas al Paraíso has been at the top of my resort and hotel bucket list. The first time I laid eyes on photos of it, I was blown away by the striking architecture of the property, and I can now say that it's even more stunning in person. After staying at Rosewood Mayakoba in Riviera Maya for my honeymoon and again earlier this year, I was eager to visit another Rosewood property in Mexico, as my experience there was nothing short of magical. My husband and I just returned from a four-night mid-October stay at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, and I had to share my takeaways, as I documented every moment from my time at the enchanting seaside resort.

One of the many things Las Ventanas is known for is being a popular vacation spot for celebrities. Cabo San Lucas is just a 2.5-hour flight from Los Angeles, which has made the resort city a popular vacation destination for Southern California residents. I did a little recon, and over the years, some of the noteworthy guests who have been said to stay at Las Ventanas include Jennifer Lopez, George Clooney, Jessica Alba, Sofia Richie Grainge, Kourtney Kardashian, Charlize Theron, Justin Timberlake, and Cameron Diaz. And most recently, my sleuthing skills helped me to instantly recognize it as the backdrop to Selena Gomez's bachelorette trip photos.

So what's it like to stay at Las Ventanas al Paraíso as a non-celebrity who resides on the East Coast? Read on to find out, from the restaurant reservations to book to the top spa treatment and what to pack.

Las Ventanas is situated in Los Cabos, a resort region between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo at the southern tip of Baja California Sur, Mexico. Opening in 1997, it was the first of four Rosewood properties in Mexico, and the buzz surrounding it has never faded over the past 28 years. Upon landing at San José del Cabo International Airport, it's just a quick 25-minute drive to paradise. Speaking of, Las Ventanas al Paraíso translates to "the window to paradise," and the property captures this sentiment beautifully. In lieu of a sign, the entrance is marked by a subtle window of sorts that leads you to the grand yet utterly elegant entrance.

When you drive up to the open-air lobby, you're greeted by a four-piece mariachi band, which serenades each new arrival throughout the day. It's a delightful welcome to say the least. Also there to greet you (with a beverage, I might add) is your personal butler, who is there throughout your stay to arrange and assist with anything you could possibly need.

The first thing I noticed about the resort was the striking architecture and seamless way in which the sea, sand, and sky are incorporated into the property's design. With its Spanish colonial style and whitewashed sand-colored buildings and sidewalks that mimic the desert floor, the resort has a luxurious traditional Mexican feel fused with a Mediterranean one. Palm trees and cacti coexist on the property, and torote trees, a native desert plant, are used throughout the grounds to dramatic effect. The buildings are designed in a way that the resort gradually reveals itself as you enter and meander around. Even the bottoms of the pools change colors to complement the sky throughout the day. (Tip: Be sure to check out the artwork, as it's an integral part of the décor, and each piece is by a Mexican artist.)

Las Ventanas, which is situated on the Sea of Cortez, has eight distinctive pools to choose from. There are four restaurants (along with other dining experiences and poolside options), a holistic spa, a salon, an expansive 24-hour fitness center (that also offers classes and private training), a wine cellar, and a speakeasy. To sum it up, you certainly don't need to leave the property.

The question I always want to know is if someone would stay at a resort or hotel again, and my answer in this case is yes, without hesitation. Las Ventanas al Paraíso is such a special, beautiful place, and the service and on-property amenities make it even more of a splurge-worthy destination. I noticed countless groups, families, and couples celebrating special occasions during my stay, which further proved that it's the ideal place to travel to for a momentous occasion—or treat yourself to some rest and relaxation in the perfect setting. If you're wondering what time of year to plan your trip, late fall and winter are your best bets. The weather is perfect and rain-free, there's less beach erosion, and the resort plans a slew of activities for guests during the season. That said, the weather in Baja California Sur is pretty great year-round, and Las Ventanas staff goes above and beyond to make every day special, so you really can't go wrong.

While there's no shortage of things to do at Las Ventanas, relaxation is the main goal. My husband and I like to keep somewhat busy when we travel, and this itinerary is similar to ours during the stay (with a few things thrown in that I'd like to do next time). We planned ahead with dining, spa, and activity arrangements, but if you prefer a more spontaneous agenda, your butlers and the concierge team are there to assist at a moment's notice.

With 84 suites and standalone villas, Las Ventanas al Paraíso has a noticeably intimate feel. The property is spacious enough to never feel crowded in the least, but everything is easily walkable from your suite or villa. We stayed in a lovely Oceanview Rooftop Terrace Junior Suite, and given the way in which Las Ventanas is designed, you have a view of the sprawling multi-level resort as well as the Sea of Cortez, and it's breathtaking.

Check-in takes place in your suite, and you're welcomed with snacks, a batch of margaritas, and a bottle of the resort's signature tequila. Indoor/outdoor living is prioritized in each suite and villa, and square footage for the suites starts at 960, so spacious is an understatement. With wood beams and traditional Mexican décor, the rooms feel cozy and romantic, with each featuring a fireplace and a massive bathtub. If you're going to order room service, the best place to enjoy it is on your terrace.

During my stay, I toured one of the 12 standalone villas and was blown away. Each oceanfront villa has an expansive infinity pool and a full kitchen. This one had a private gym and one of the largest bathrooms I've ever laid eyes on—truly. But the most decadent accommodation of them all is the Ty Warner Mansion, a 28,000-square-foot residence that's one of Las Ventanas' many claims to fame.

A stay at Las Ventanas al Paraíso isn't complete without a visit to the spa. In keeping with the rest of the resort, the spa facilities are indoor/outdoor. You could easily spend the better part of the day at the lush holistic spa, relaxing in the sauna, steam room, and hydro-therapy and cold plunge pools. The Four Elements treatment menu is inspired by the ancient healers of Baja and utilizes the powers of earth, air, fire, and water for its unique options.

Our treatment began with the Holistic Twilight Ceremony in the picturesque thatched-canopy relaxation area. The purifying and cleansing ritual was adopted from the ancient shamans of Baja, and I find that having an experience that's signature to the region is so special. You close your eyes and are surrounded by instrumental harmonies and sage smoke, and an eagle feather is used to drive negative energy out of your body. It was a feast for the senses, to say the least, and unlike anything I've ever experienced at a spa. From there, we were brought to a standalone spa villa where we were treated to a relaxing foot scrub in the connecting private garden. It ended with one of the best massages I can recall in my lifetime.

Something I appreciated about the various dining options at Las Ventanas was how vastly different an experience each one offered. Our first stop was at Sea Grill, the beachside restaurant with a laid-back feel and a plethora of mouthwatering seafood options. Be sure to order the ceviche of the day, as it's perhaps the best ceviche you'll ever have, and I've thought about the lobster tacos daily since I left. Sea Grill also serves the main pool area and is open throughout the day and night. The breakfast menu is filled with delicious healthy options.

In the same area of the resort, overlooking the stunning signature infinity pool and the iconic Tree of Love is Alebrije. It's the perfect setting for the modern Italian cuisine, and I found it to be the most romantic restaurant on the property. (Although it was a very close call.) A guitar duo serenades the diners throughout the night (which I loved hearing from our suite). Each table is presented with smoked focaccia in a glass dome, and that's the only way I want my focaccia from now on. Be sure to save room for the tiramisu, which is prepared tableside. In the morning, Alebrije is the place to go for traditional Mexican breakfast options, and the tortillas are made fresh alongside the diners.

A highlight of a stay at Las Ventanas is undoubtedly dinner at Arbol, where you go to dine on Asian-style coastal cuisine in a jaw-dropping setting. Just past the lazy river (more on that later) is the glittering restaurant with lanterns and candles everywhere you look. The ambience is nothing short of impeccable. The menu offers a plethora of options, from sushi to tandoori dishes to caviar to curry. The hardest part was choosing what to order, and I could have dined there daily and had a completely different meal. It was easy to see why Arbol is a current recipient of the prestigious Michelin Guide recognition. During the winter months, there's a signature Omakase Del Mar experience, in which the chef guides you through a multi-course meal with bespoke sake pairings.

A more casual option is Tequila & Ceviche Bar, which is situated on a higher level of the resort near the spa. This is also where the private tequila tastings are held. I ordered a mezcal cocktail called Salsa Verde, which I highly recommend. The menu includes ceviches (naturally), tostadas, tiraditos, and sushi, but I was told to order one of the poke bowls. I'm very glad I listened. Pro tip: If you don't end your meal with the churros, you'll regret it.

Last, an IYKYK spot (our driver from the airport to the resort gave us the heads-up) was the taco bar alongside the lazy river. There, tiki cocktails, an assortment of traditional tacos, and rolled ice cream are on offer, and it was the perfect poolside lunch.

I wanted to highlight Las Ventanas at night because the resort completely transforms after the sun sets, and I looked forward to it each day. It's clear that the lighting design of the property was painstakingly considered—it literally glowed from the many candles and strategically placed soft lighting.

The thing to do post-dinner is pay a visit to the on-site speakeasy, La Botica. You enter the prohibition-themed space via a secret doorway, and one of the first things you'll notice is the stage and dance floor. This isn't the place for a quiet, relaxing cocktail. (Speaking of, the menu of classic and signature cocktails was spot-on.) There's a resident Cuban-style band (and dancers!) that puts on quite the show each night. It's a high-energy experience with plenty of audience participation, and it's pretty much impossible not to have fun.

If you visit the resort between November and May, there's a Sunset Bar set up on the beach that's a great option for a seaside cocktail and bites.

You could easily relax by the pool all day, but there are plenty of other options if you seek variety while vacationing. But first, let's discuss those pools. The lineup includes the main Beach Pool overlooking the ocean, two adults-only pools, the Whale's Tail pool (named after its shape), and the Lazy River and Oasis Pool. The meandering Lazy River was designed with adults in mind (children are, of course, welcome), featuring a swim-up tiki bar and a relaxing vibe.

Signature Cabo experiences, such as scuba diving, private yacht charters, ATV tours, and golf, are on offer via the resort. We chose to go horseback riding on the beach just before the sun started to set. There are also luxurious beach cabanas that are set up for much of the year, with a private plunge pool and jacuzzis, welcome drinks, and even private showers. Other options include a private dinner and movie on the beach, painting at sunset, and wine dinners in the on-site wine cellar, La Cava. The resort also plans an array of special events for those who choose to spend the holidays at Las Ventanas.

The five-star service at Rosewood properties is unmatched, and the brand prides itself on that. You can tell that the staff makes a point to get to know its guests and anticipate their every need during their stay. Everyone we met was so genuinely kind. (The fact that the staff members waved goodbye to us upon checking out until our car to the airport disappeared made it even more tragic to leave.)

In your room, you'll find a beach tote for each guest to use during your stay, and there's sunscreen and a personal bottle of chilled Evian mist at every pool. Turndown service was a treat each night, as you'll come back to find aromatherapy candles lit, your swimsuits folded, traditional Mexican María dolls by your bed, and they even leave sewing kits to complement the colors of your wardrobe.

You'll notice that love is very much prioritized at the resort, making it a popular engagement, wedding, and honeymoon destination. Glass hearts hang from the resort's striking manmade trees, and you'll find them used as accents in the décor if you look closely. (Fun fact: Las Ventanas even has a romance department.)

Something you'll definitely want to check out during your stay are the shops. Instead of just one gift shop, there are several, each with a different theme—from home décor handmade by Mexican artisans to a children's store to a flower shop. The main gift shop was stocked with chic items such as Celine sunglasses, Lemlem swimwear, and Nick Fouquet hats. Las Ventanas often partners with designers for collaborations—be on the lookout for one with Weezie this holiday season, which is sure to be chic and adorable.

When it comes to wardrobe, the aesthetic at Las Ventanas al Paraíso is elegant, beachy resortwear. Many of the resort's guests are California-based, and I noticed a chic Malibu vibe to much of the attire. During the day, I saw lots of bikinis with crochet or linen coverups, often paired with designer accessories. In the evening, maxi and mini dresses paired with heels or chic flat sandals were the go-to. Guests really embrace the opportunity to dress up for dinner at Las Ventanas.

Since I brought only a carry-on suitcase (who has time for baggage claim?), I had to be creative with what I packed. Luckily, my silk Reformation pieces and linen Posse items took up minimal luggage space. I somehow managed to pack three bags, including my go-to The Row '90s bag and Prada raffia tote, and four pairs of shoes, including woven Simon Miller heels, Ancient Greek Sandals jelly flip-flops, and Hermès slides.

For daytime, I packed my favorite Hunza G, Onia, and Reformation swimsuits, and paired them with denim or linen shorts or oversize button-downs on most days. Heaven Mayhem sunglasses and Polo Ralph Lauren baseball caps also made it into my beach tote. Since it was technically the middle of fall, I kept that in mind when packing and chose things such as this olive-green lace-trimmed Reformation dress. Without the need for functional items, it was undoubtedly an enjoyable trip to pack for.

When a relatively under-the-radar wellness spa appears in Instagram carousels on both Hailey Bieber's and Laura Harrier's feeds, you know it's going to be good. But when I stepped foot on the property at Mii Amo, a luxury wellness destination voted number-one spa in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure, even my highest expectations were surpassed. Nestled in Sedona, Arizona's famed Boynton Canyon, the property is framed by its dramatic desert surroundings and is entrenched in the metaphysical realm that Sedona and its energy vortexes are known for, which made my stay transformational on multiple fronts.

Although the spa opened its doors in 2001, it underwent a two-year $40 million renovation and reopened in 2023 with new credentials by independent luxury hospitality association Relais & Châteaux.

Set just across a paved driveway from neighboring Enchantment Resort, Mii Amo feels secluded from the larger resort while still technically being part of it. For instance, Enchantment guests have access to certain common areas at Mii Amo, like the outdoor pool and spa, as well as the ability to book treatments and dine at the on-site restaurant Hummingbird. At the same time, Mii Amo guests can participate in Enchantment activities like hiking, biking, tennis, and the arts. Staying at Enchantment and booking treatments at Mii Amo is one way to experience the spa, but nothing compares to staying directly on-property as a Mii Amo guest, which I had the pleasure of doing last fall. The journey begins with all Mii Amo guests together, starting with an intention-setting session and welcome drinks. Fellow journey members included groups of friends, couples, a few mother-daughter duos, and, naturally, a few solo travelers too. The wonderful thing is that the trip is really what you make of it, so you could keep coming back and have a new experience every time. In fact, several of the guests I met were repeat visitors, and after my four-day, three-night stay, I had the urge to join them.

A stay at Mii Amo is all-inclusive with a few minor exceptions, like add-ons for wine and beer and additional spa treatments beyond what's included. With so many elements on offer, from fitness classes and outdoor adventures to the artist's cottage and, of course, the state-of-the-art spa, journeys are just that—personal. There's no rigid itinerary here, so it really becomes what you make of it. Lean into the fitness side of the experience by attending the daily yoga and Pilates courses, hiking through the canyon, and booking a tennis lesson, or take a more relaxed approach by spending time in the spa or lounging by the pool with a book and fresh-squeezed juice. You're not going it alone, though, as each guest is assigned their own journey guide who helps curate your treatments and book the activities that interest you.

My first impression was simply how striking the resort as a whole was. The architecture blends in seamlessly with the surrounding natural landscape, so you're immersed in the best views of the canyon at every turn. The whole effect has one of being both modern and cozy—each space felt warm and inviting but awe-inspiring at the same time. The conversation pit in the main spa area was a sight to behold and, naturally, Instagram fodder for the resort's A-list clientele. As for the rooms, they're a series of luxe casitas that are each outfitted with private outdoor spaces, spacious kitchen and dining spaces, and a living room with a working fireplace. The bathroom in mine was complete with a marble vanity and deep soaking tub with a skylight set directly above it.

The idea of a destination health and wellness spa automatically conjures images of undressed lettuce leaves, bitter green juices, and barely-there portion sizes, but I'm happy to report that the dining experience at Mii Amo couldn't be farther from that trope. In fact, I couldn't stop remarking that every meal I had was my favorite one yet. The food itself is worthy of making a trip for, which is exactly what one mother-daughter duo I met said they did, coming back the following year specifically with the resort's famous lemon ricotta pancakes in mind. It wasn't surprising once I learned that the head chef had formerly trained at Le Bristol in Paris and was currently in the process of building out the on-site garden to supply even more hyperlocal and in-season produce.

As the stay is all-inclusive, all meals, snacks, and drinks are included—with the exception of wine and beer, which are ordered à la carte. Hummingbird is the main restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but a stand-alone juice and smoothie bar sits just around the corner, which I utilized for a quick stop-off post-hike. Most of the menu is available to order poolside, and if I wasn't feeling a full sit-down meal at Hummingbird, there was always the option to dine in my room, and the room service came freakishly fast. Another tidbit that made the whole dining experience so luxurious? When I checked in, I was told that wearing the robes 24/7 wasn't just allowed but encouraged. Yes, even to dinner.

It's nearly impossible to sum up the spa offering—the treatment menu is as vast as it is unique to the resort. It spans traditional spa classics like facials and body scrubs to sessions more attuned to the mind and spirit, like energy healing and Reiki. Over the course of my stay, I got a feel for a few different types and booked a range of treatments, starting with the High Desert Enzyme Wrap, a massage and body scrub that's followed by a rich and hydrating wrap. The next day, I went in for the Head, Neck, and Shoulders massage and signature facial. I don't say this lightly: Both the massage and facial were the best I've ever experienced. My masseuse was incredibly knowledgeable and precise and instructed me on how to better position myself as a side sleeper to avoid crunching my neck and shoulders at night.

Now for the metaphysical sessions, which I was teeming with curiosity and excitement to try. I ventured beyond my comfort zone and signed myself up for both Energy Clearing and Hypnosis sessions to round out the stay. While I thought I knew what to expect for the former three, I had no idea what I was in for with the latter two. I was blown away by the level of skill and care that I was met with from each practitioner. My Hypnosis session was nowhere near as scary as I'd imagined (no hanging pendulums or hypnotic spirals) but was instead incredibly insightful and targeted. After spending about 20 minutes discussing a specific habit I was looking to improve on, I laid down while my practitioner led me through what felt like a guided meditation, where she prompted me to imagine current and alternate versions of myself who did and didn't have a handle on this specific behavior. The easiest way I can describe it would be to say that it felt like bypassing my conscious mind to get to the root of an issue and unpack it that way. It was incredibly insightful and, as far I'm concerned, successful. I even received a recording of the session to play back at home should I feel the need to re-up, which is exactly the kind of thoughtful touch I was met with at every turn throughout my stay.

Physical well-being was as much a part of my Mii Amo journey as the mental and spiritual side of things, and the resort certainly frames the two as going hand in hand. When it came to fitness, the options were virtually endless. Not only did the gym feature state-of-the-art weights, cardio equipment, and a Pilates reformer, but the studio just above it also offered classes—such as gentle yoga, mat Pilates, and breath work—daily. The set of treadmills faces a floor-to-ceiling wall of windows that overlooks a stunning vista of the red rocks, and as a runner, I couldn't help but feel like I had died and gone to my dream gym.

The best part of my fitness experience, though, had to be getting outside. The resort is situated at the opening of Boynton Canyon, where multiple trailheads are just steps outside your front door. I took both guided and solo hikes through the canyon that each arrived at viewpoints perched high above the Arizona desert where you could see Sedona stretch on for miles. The property also boasts a gorgeous set of tennis and pickleball courts that are surrounded by the dramatic plateaus of the canyon. I took a private tennis lesson one morning with Mii Amo and Enchantment's resident expert, who managed to improve my backhand more in 60 minutes than any other lesson I've taken back home. (Shout-out to Coach Chet!)

While traditional R&R is definitely the goal, there's also a big emphasis placed on mindfulness here. It's the kind of thing where guests can choose how much or how little they dive into the spiritual side of Mii Amo. Whether it's joining one of the daily guided meditations, writing down your intentions beforehand, or walking along the crystal pathway, there are a number of ways in which the resort prompts you to tap into your higher self—if you're open to it, of course.

Speaking of the meditation sessions, the morning and evening rituals became the moments I most looked forward to throughout my stay. They're held inside a dome-like structure that was custom-made for this purpose. It features a small cutout in the ceiling, letting a strobe of sun or moonlight into the space depending on the time of day, and is positioned specifically to illuminate the large crystal at the center of the space. Around this is a bench in the shape of a half circle where people can sit. The floor isn't a floor at all. It's the red dirt of the Sedona desert that, when going barefoot, helps to further ground you in the moment and stimulate your vagus nerve. Before you enter the meditation cave, there's a little wooden box outside where you can write down what it is you'd like to let go of, and afterward, all the cards are burned to symbolize their release.

Whether I was feeling the energy vortexes of the canyon at work or had simply allowed myself to unwind through my treatments and meditation sessions, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of emotional release. I cried and laughed and reflected and learned more about myself over the course of my four-day journey than I had bargained for. Perhaps it was the result of what was going on in my personal life at the time, but when it came time to board my flight home, I could feel a significant weight off my shoulders. I felt lighter emotionally and physically. The tension I keep in my shoulders had loosened its grip, I noticed my jaw didn't automatically clench up when I sat idle, and if it's true that women hold onto stubborn lower belly fat when our cortisol is too high, then I found mine was flatter, and my overall stress levels lowered.

When I say that Rosewood Mayakoba is the most special resort in Mexico, I'm not speaking hyperbolically. It truly is a magical place. Just a 45-minute drive from the Cancun airport, you'll find Mayakoba. It's a private gated community made up of 620 acres of beach, jungle, and lagoon, so you could call it a resort within a resort.

Rosewood Mayakoba, one of four Rosewood properties in Mexico, opened in 2008. My first stay was for my honeymoon in 2018, and we had such an incredible, memorable time that we decided to return for my husband Mark's birthday seven years later. As a testament to how much the Rosewood brand is constantly evolving and enhancing the guest experience, there was a plethora of new things to see and do. Read on for my firsthand recount of our early-spring stay at the resort and why I wholeheartedly feel that it's worth a visit (or, better yet, repeat visits).

Rosewood Mayakoba is situated along the Riviera Maya coast with its white sandy beaches and clear blue water. The lagoons and jungles surrounding the rest of the property give it an incredibly unique feel. Among the property's many features, standouts include Sense, a Rosewood Spa—which inhabits its own private island—and Zapote Bar, the award-winning cocktail destination that opened in 2021.

Rosewood Mayakoba is one of Mexico's top luxury resorts, and the attention to detail and level of service it provides are unmatched—trust me. Upon entering the property, you drive through a well-kept jungle of sorts, which takes you to Rosewood Mayakoba's entrance, where you're greeted with a refreshing frozen beverage presented alongside a bottle of mezcal if you choose to imbibe. One of the first things you'll notice is that the resort is very much an indoor-outdoor experience (even the lobby is situated outdoors) and that everywhere you look is picturesque. It's pretty much impossible to take a bad photo here.

After checking in, you'll be whisked away to your stand-alone villa via a private boat along the lagoon. You'll quickly notice that the property's design clearly prioritizes its guests' privacy, which is one of the many reasons it's been a favorite vacation spot of celebrities for years. We arrived at our villa's dock, and the two butlers (who were wonderful, I might add) for our stay were waiting to show us around our suite for the next four days and give us the lay of the land. It's clear from the start that every element of the service at Rosewood Mayakoba is incredibly personalized and thoughtful. We were greeted with a lovely welcome amenity, which included ingredients for a signature cocktail that our butlers showed us how to make ourselves.

There are five restaurants at the resort along with dining experiences throughout the week, such as a lovely Chef's Garden Dinner and a Mexican grill on the beach. It's worth noting that each of the stunning restaurants is alongside a body of water, so the views are stunning no matter where you choose to dine. There are four pool areas, and each villa includes a private plunge pool. It's safe to say that you'll be spending a lot of time in the water.

Would I stay at Rosewood Mayakoba again? Given that this was my second special-occasion visit, the answer is 100% yes. Between the impeccable service, jaw-dropping views, uniqueness of the property, plethora of things to do, and close proximity to the U.S., I can say with confidence that you'll have zero regrets about splurging on a stay here.

Whether you prefer a packed itinerary or a more leisurely one, the resort offers plenty of options for how to spend your days there. My husband and I chose the former, so here's a recommended itinerary, which was similar to ours. Between our planned activities, we enjoyed relaxing on the beach or by one of the many pools, of course.

There are 129 suites on the property, each featuring a spacious floor plan with a well-appointed bathroom (massive soaking tub and outdoor shower included). Outdoors, a large terrace and private plunge pool await you. There are several types of villas to choose from, including beachside lagoon-view suites, deluxe overwater lagoon suites, and lagoon studio suites. We stayed in a lagoon studio suite and found it to be the perfect size for a couple.

Since the property is quite sprawling and it can be a bit of a hike to the beach and various restaurants and spa, the resort offers a shuttle service via golf carts throughout the day and night, and each villa comes with bikes for each guest. My bike-riding skills have faded, so I relied on walking and the golf cart pick-ups, which were always speedy.

On a separate part of the property, Rosewood Mayakoba offers private residences. I got a chance to tour one of the lagoon residences (where the overhead photo of the pool pictured above was taken), and it was breathtaking, to say the least. Living in one of these homes and getting to take advantage of all of the amenities the resort provides? Real estate goals.

As I mentioned, Sense, a Rosewood Spa is situated on its own private island. (No boat needed, though—there's a bridge.) There, you'll find indoor and outdoor relaxation lounges, a steam room, a sauna, a cold-plunge pool, and 12 stand-alone treatment rooms that you walk through the jungled paths to get to. There's also an incredibly relaxing and spacious hydrotherapy pool, an outdoor yoga pavilion, and a fully equipped fitness center.

Many of the treatments offered are rooted in the Mayan culture that's so prevalent in the region. A couple of the spa's signature experiences are the shaman-led Temazcal ceremony and Kuxtal Sensory Garden ritual.

I wanted to choose something from the newest offerings at the spa, so I opted for the Seed Grounding Ritual, one of five new treatments created in partnership with Ground Wellbeing and available only at Rosewood Mayakoba. After leading me to my treatment room, my technician shared that I coincidentally chose the most popular of the five rituals. It consisted of a botanical scrub with sea salt that you rinse off in the in-room shower followed by a massage using an incredibly hydrating but nongreasy balm and a peat mask for your feet. It was one of the best spa experiences I've ever had, hands down. Here's another recommended treatment: If you prefer a more traditional massage, the Curative Fire and Ice Therapy earned a rave review from my husband. Inspired by ancient Mayan medicine, it's a contrast therapy consisting of warm and cool stones.

Whether you're a serious foodie who wants lots of dining options or just want to enjoy the regional cuisine, you're going to be pleased with the offerings here. For many guests, the day begins with breakfast at Casa del Lago, which looks over the resort's main pool and features an expansive spread with different offerings each day. The selection of fresh-cut fruit alone was something to behold. (At night, it transforms into a romantic, candlelit space with Italian cuisine on the menu.) The other breakfast option is Aquí Me Quedo, the property's adults-only beach club, where you can enjoy healthy fare inspired by the cuisine of the region with your toes in the sand. At Aquí Me Quedo, you'll also find the lunch spot La Cantina, a casual food truck, and the can't-miss Mexican grill on the beach if you're lucky enough to be there on a Thursday evening. The other beach-front restaurant is Punta Bonita, where the ceviche menu is not to be missed. I should note that it will be closing later this year to make way for a brand-new restaurant.

Two other restaurants on the property that we loved were Zapote Bar, the newest of the bunch, and Agave Azul. Zapote Bar is an award-winning cocktail haven (more on that in a bit) that features the cuisine of the Yucatán Peninsula infused with Middle Eastern flavors, all cooked over a live fire in the open kitchen. Be sure to start with the Zapote Sampler so that you can try an assortment of the delicious dips to enjoy alongside your cocktails.

Agave Azul is where to go for Japanese and Chinese cuisine melded with the cuisine of the region. The seafood was unbelievably fresh at the lagoon-side space (sitting on the outdoor patio is a must), and the usuzukuri is a must-order.

On our final night, we attended the Chef's Garden Dinner at the La Ceiba Garden & Kitchen, which is held two nights each week. The chef was on hand to serve up a delicious multicourse meal inspired by the region. It was such a highlight of the trip for us, and it's a great opportunity to socialize with other guests and members of the staff, as you're sitting alongside them at a lovely communal table.

One last dining-related tip: If you want to venture into Mayakoba's village square (you should), be sure to make a stop at La Fondita, Rosewood's Mexico City–inspired taqueria, for lunch.

If enjoying craft cocktails is on your vacation agenda, you won't be lacking in options here. Lucky for you, Zapote Bar happens to be one of the top cocktail bars in the world. It's had multiple honors bestowed upon it since opening, including making it on the lists of the World's 50 Best Bars and North America's 50 Best Bars. Choosing which drinks to order is an almost impossible task, but my two recommendations are Mono, which the bartender muddled in front of me, and Mezcal Stalk. A DJ with a flute and mini bongo drums arrived as soon as our first drinks were delivered to us.

The other noteworthy cocktail destination is La Isla Secreta, a Tulum-inspired speakeasy hidden among the mangroves, which you hop on a boat from Zapote Bar to get to. Making a post-dinner visit during your stay is a must—just be sure to wear bug spray.

While we can certainly appreciate a leisurely afternoon on the beach, Mark and I like to experience all that the places we visit have to offer, so we kept quite busy with activities throughout our stay. One of our favorite on-site experiences was a midday cooking class at La Ceiba Garden & Kitchen with the executive chef and sous-chef of the resort. It was a treat, to say the least.

A benefit of the resort-within-a-resort location was that you can also take advantage of Mayakoba activities, including on-property golf and private lessons led by local experts. We opted for a pickleball lesson at the sports center and kayaking on the lagoon. I learned that I was slightly better at pickleball than kayaking.

You can expect a five-star luxury experience whenever you stay at a Rosewood property, and they really go above and beyond here. Our butlers were always there to meet our every need. (I like to think that we didn't have too many!)

It's all about the details at Rosewood Mayakoba. The bathroom stocked D.S. & Durga Jazmin Yucatan products (heavenly), there were fresh mangos in our room each day, and each night, we'd come back to special surprises that were left during turndown service, such as little wooden Alebrijes creatures on our pillows.

We were lucky enough to have perfect weather during our stay, but I was impressed to see that the resort plans an entire rainy-day schedule of activities in the event that inclement weather is in the forecast. On the aforementioned perfect-weather days, the staff often greets you with fun surprises on the beach, such as a midday cocktail made of mezcal, pineapple juice, and lime and champagne o'clock, which is as great as it sounds.

The guests during our stay included a good mix of couples, groups of couples traveling together, and families. There are plenty of activities to keep kids occupied for the entirety of a stay.

Given my profession, I was sure to take note of what people were wearing at the resort, and I was glad to see that I had packed appropriately. The vibe during the day was casual yet chic. I spotted lots of bright bikinis, linen button-downs as cover-ups, and trendy accessories like Miu Miu cowboy hats, colorful Polo Ralph Lauren baseball caps, and elevated flip-flops. (Fun fact: If you don't want to pack a beach tote, there's one waiting for you in the closet of each room.) My suitcase contained a mix of shorts, crochet cover-ups and accessories, and flat sandals and mesh sneakers for daytime.

Evening attire was much dressier but still relaxed. I saw lots of colorful printed dresses of every length with heels and polished flat sandals. For men, lightweight button-downs and linen pants or shorts with loafers were popular options. I packed a mix of fun dresses and skirts and versatile accessories that would go with each of my outfits. (I was committed to only bringing a carry-on for our four-night stay.) My sole pair of heels was my tan Toteme kitten-heel flip-flops. People really dressed to impress here but didn't seem like they were trying too hard.

At the end of the summer, I visited the Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel, Anguilla to experience the iconic hotel. The destination has historic ties to iconic guests including Jackie Kennedy as well as A-listers of today including Jennifer Aniston and Yara Shahidi. Its architecture and guests have also been snapped by Slim Aarons, the photographer who is famous for capturing images of socialites, jet-setters, and celebrities and the locations they've visited.

During my trip, I experienced a horseback ride along the pristine white-sand beach, a private Pilates class overlooking the shoreline, delicious meals at the restaurants on the property, and a treatment at the just-opened Guerlain spa. Ahead, an inside look at the Belmond Cap Juluca and all of the details to know for an upcoming visit.

Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel, Anguilla opened in 1988 and quickly became known for its luxurious accommodations and breathtaking beachfront location, and it recently underwent an extensive renovation in 2018.

The Belmond Cap Juluca is a luxury resort located on the stunning shores of Maundays Bay. Renowned for its beautiful white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, the resort offers a blend of Caribbean charm and sophisticated elegance. The accommodations include beachfront villas and suites, many featuring private terraces and direct access to the beach along paved pathways. The resort's design emphasizes a relaxed, open-air aesthetic, incorporating local materials and vibrant colors.

The property closes at the end of the summer during hurricane season and is most popular to visit in the winter through early spring. The temperatures remain warm and tropical during the winter months, making it a perfect escape from colder climates. Overall, Belmond Cap Juluca is a perfect escape for anyone seeking a tranquil, luxurious getaway in a picturesque setting.

One of the highlights of the visit was the Guerlain spa, which opened in summer 2024. The spa takes inspiration from the local area of Anguilla and is designed with a beautiful tiled waiting area that brings in nature to the space with lush trees and an open roof that lets you take in the sunshine and warm, ocean-scented air. Upon entering the room for my massage, I was asked to choose from a range of Guerlain scents, including some that were inspired by the tropical Caribbean setting.

For the three-night trip, I was able to pack everything in a carry-on suitcase and small duffle bag. For the duration of my stay, I rotated between swimsuits and light linen dresses worn with sandals. I paired the dresses with baseball hats during the day, and then swapped in a simple leather bag for the evening. The location lends itself to easy island dressing with time spent between the beach and some more dressed-up moments for dinner at the restaurants on-property at night.

There were a number of excursions to choose from during my stay, including a boat to Prickly Pear Island, kayaking, snorkeling, tennis lessons, and fishing. I opted for horseback riding, which began at a local stable and ended along the pristine white beach of the Belmond Cap Juluca. The ride concluded with a dip into the water on my horse, which was even more spectacular than I imagined.

The property boasts beautiful grass tennis courts set alongside the lush foliage, where group or private lessons can be booked. The rooms are outfitted with fluffy robes and slippers, and mine also had a brightly lit bathroom with marble countertops. There are also multiple restaurants to dine at on the property. Breakfast was served each morning at Pimms, which has sweeping views of the property. Cip's by Cipriani was a standout spot for dinner and has a local-inspired menu, as well as iconic favorites including the Harry's Bar classic meringue cake. A personal favorite was The Cap Shack—the most casual of the options. I grabbed lunch here daily and ordered local crayfish that was cooked to order on the barbecue on the beach.

Fashion people, including me, love nice things. Our preferred state is being engulfed in beauty, so when we travel, it isn’t just about what we pack; it’s about where we stay. The Bulgari brand has managed to tap into the grandeur lifestyle of its jewelry customers by offering them a place to stay in the most prestigious cities around the world. Bulgari Hotels has nine properties spanning Paris, Milan, Rome, Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Dubai, Bali, and London, with three more locations in the works. While each property has its unique vibe and reputation, the Milan location specifically piqued the interest of the fashion community. Insiders often gather there during Milan Fashion Week for events or brunch and sit at the bar to see and be seen. All that to say, Bulgari hotels are on the map when it comes to must-visit destinations for the It crowd, and I was itching to experience at least one of these beautiful properties.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Shanghai and Beijing Bulgari Hotels in China, and my expectations were (not shockingly) exceeded. I could gush about the more obvious things you are used to reading about in a hotel review, but I would rather share the finer details that impressed me most. From the spas to the in-room dining menus, these properties exude extravagance in a way that somehow still makes you feel right at home and makes the cost worth every penny.

Foodies from all over the world will find solace in the dining opportunities at the Bulgari hotels. The Shanghai and Beijing properties, in addition to many other Bulgari properties worldwide, are home to the Michelin-star restaurant Il Ristorante Niko Romito. This restaurant focuses on contemporary Italian fine dining, locally sourced ingredients, and innovative techniques. Before dinner, make a stop at The Bulgari Bar for an aperitivo. The drinks are next-level, and the food menu here is exceptional as well.

The Shanghai property has two additional dining and beverage options that make the property stand out: Bao Li Xuan and The Whisky Bar. Bao Li Xuan is a two-Michelin-starred restaurant serving traditional Cantonese cuisine and was hands down one of the best meals I ate in China. Right across the way is The Whisky Bar, which presents as a cozy and sophisticated way to end your evening. Stop here for a late-night drink consisting of some of the most premium whiskeys around the globe.

I am a sucker for all the little luxuries hotels offer, and the rooms at the Bulgari Hotel in Shanghai and Beijing exceeded all expectations. My room was constantly replenished with fresh fruits and some sort of dessert from Bulgari Dolci, the brand's signature chocolate boutique, and before bed, warm local tea and treats were waiting for me upon my return. The bathroom was stocked with all of the best Bulgari products, a Dyson hair dryer, and every other “supply” you could think of, from razors to toothpaste to adorable wooden toothbrushes. There were also a few memorable services such as a pillow menu, complimentary pressing services, and laundry.

One of my favorite details about the Bulgari hotels in China was the consistent integration of the local culture. Each morning, I opted for the local breakfast menu consisting of plate upon plate of traditional dishes—beef noodles, rice shao mai, congee, and more. Fresh lychee and dragon fruit were always replenished in my room, and local tea was served at various times, including post-spa treatments and the aforementioned delivery before bedtime. The properties also offer a handful of traditional experiences such as Tai Chi classes and kayaking on the adjacent Liangma River. When it comes time to venture out into the city, you can book a tour guide via the hotel to show you the best cultural landmarks around each city.

The spa is a must-visit if you are staying at a Bulgari property. The design of the treatment rooms and Roman bath–inspired indoor pool alone are worthy of basking in. I am not always one to work out while on vacation, but the fitness center at these properties was too nice to skip. The gym offers refreshing spa water, towels, and even private training sessions. I took full advantage of the Pilates reformer in the separate yoga and Pilates room.

Luxury implies more than just material goods—it’s a lifestyle, and a stay at a Bulgari hotel will give you a glimpse into that world from the moment you wake up until the moment you fall asleep. Bulgari’s heritage branding is integrated into all of the décor throughout the properties, from the bars to the rooms. Old campaign images are displayed via framed photos and coffee table books, the Serpenti motif can be spotted in various design details. In Shanghai, you can even pop into the boutique to invest in one of the brand’s signature pieces. As a fashion editor, being immersed in a world where beautiful Bulgari designs are around every corner was something quite special and sets apart this hotel group from any other.

As an editor, I have certain opportunities come across my desk that are simply no-brainers. Last month when I opened up my inbox and saw the words "invite" and "The Ranch" in the same email, there was no question that I was going to send in my RSVP.

For the uninitiated, The Ranch is a notorious wellness retreat in Malibu that the A-list set is known to slink off to for a complete mind-body reset. A quick Google search confirms this: Names like Michelle Obama, Brooke Shields, and Jessica Alba are among the first to populate on the wellness retreat's lengthy list of celebrity visitors. The weeklong escape is as much a physical challenge as it is a mental one, and in fact, its rigorous program and strict menu have become the subject of some critique, and no doubt fascination, on TikTok recently.

It's not just the online chatter, though. Wellness travel has never been hotter than it is right now. The wellness industry as a whole is booming, but according to the Global Wellness Institute, wellness tourism is projected to be valued at $817 billion this year and then see a hike up to $1.3 trillion by 2025, making it the fastest growth rate of any wellness market through 2025. Not only are we traveling more again in the post-pandemic era, but now there's an emphasis on the trips we take to be restorative and relaxing. People are craving ways to cure their burnout, truly unplug from their day-to-day lives, and do a thorough detox so they can go home feeling refreshed in a way that a typical vacation just can't always do.

According to the new-age travel agency Fora, this is a major trend that's already taking off this year. Beyond The Ranch, the Fora team shared that they saw wellness destinations including Canyon Ranch, Amangiri, Mii Amo, and 7Pines booking numbers for the first month of 2024 that have already surpassed those figures for all of 2023. Clearly, the demand is only skyrocketing, and as far as luxury retreats go, The Ranch is considered the gold standard.

The Property

This spring, The Ranch opened up its doors to its first East Coast outpost in the Hudson Valley, just under an hour's drive from Midtown Manhattan but in an area that feels worlds away. Its arrival comes at a time when wellness centers and spas have been popping up all over the New York metro area, cementing that New Yorkers are after some of the lifestyle balance that places like California have seemed to master. The biggest different between the two locations, however, is that while six-night stays are the norm at Malibu, the Hudson Valley outpost offers either three-night or four-night programs to cater to the 9-to-5 set looking for a long weekend getaway. Throughout my stay, I also learned that this location eases up on some of the strict guidelines, offering the option of doing a two-hour hike instead of the standard four-hour daily hike. It also began offering more filling snacks (at Malibu, guests are notoriously given a sachet of six almonds as their mid-hike sustenance) and introducing coffee into the morning routine.

As for the property itself, it's set in the most beautiful lakefront estate originally built by J.P. Morgan as his personal residence in 1904. Set on 200 acres of forested land with access to the trails in Harriman State Park for hiking, the retreat feels a world away from the city. Inside, the rooms are as immaculate as you can imagine, outfitted with plush Matouk robes and Frette slippers that accompanied the high-thread-count sheets and marble-finished bathroom.

The Activities

The day's lineup went something like this: a morning stretch and breakfast followed by a long hike, then lunch, a strength-training session, restorative yoga class, 50-minute Swedish massage, capped off by dinner. While we did so much in the course of the day, the schedule never felt rushed or overly full, and there was plenty of time in between to rest, hang out on the patio that overlooks the great lawn and lake, or utilize one of the plunge pools.

Overall, the program was highly structured, and every activity felt extremely intentional and results-driven. The strength training was formatted to enhance the day hikes and both were balanced with the restorative massages and yoga that help promote a quicker post-workout recovery.

The Spa and Amenities

As if the transformative changes the program promises aren't compelling enough, a 50-minute massage is on the menu. Every. Single. Day. For me, that fact alone was convincing enough to look into booking a follow-up visit. I don't need to spell out the benefits of getting a massage after a long day, but after all the activities I put my body through that morning, I couldn't imagine not getting that level of pampering.

In addition to the massages, there's an indoor and an outdoor pool, hot and cold plunges, and when I visited in mid-May, the promise that there would soon be saunas and options to kayak and stand-up paddle board on the freshwater lake.

The Food

Let's get into what we ate because everything was truly next-level. The entire property is plant-based, soy-free, and gluten-free, and the chef uses fresh, local ingredients where possible. With one main goal of the program being weight loss, they aim to feed you a daily intake of roughly 1400 calories, so you can imagine that the portions aren't huge, but I found myself feeling comfortably full after meals, and while some light hunger pangs bubbled up in the hour before meals, I never felt as hungry as I would have assumed given the lower calorie intake. Meals were fresh and filling with some examples including homemade granola cereal with berries for breakfast, beet burgers with kale chips for lunch, and a sweet potato "pot pie" for dinner.
