Whenever I consider the contents of my autumn wardrobe, I'm always a little despondent about the fact that all my flirty hemlines, ethereal prints and gorgeous trims can only really come out when the weather is warm.

Amidst colder climates, my ensembles always seem to feel somewhat more austere and sombre in comparison, with tailored coats, clean-cut silhouettes and luxe fibres. Lately, however, I’ve been looking for pieces that have a slightly more ornamental look, whether that be swapping my suede jackets for elegant leather funnel-neck jackets or polishing up my cashmere collection with one of this season’s key colour trends.

One category that I’ve yet to find a great substitute for is a white T-shirt. Or at least, that was the case until I saw the plethora of celebrities who are switching this basic top for something far more statement-making. Indeed, over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that prolific members of the celebrity style set have been elevating the wardrobe staple by wearing a baseball top instead.

This ‘90s fashion item, worn by punk musicians and skateboarders alike, has found a new fanbase in the likes of Emily Ratajkowski, Zoë Kravitz and Hailey Bieber; all of whom have spent a portion of the past month advocating for the return of this dated piece. And it’s safe to say that these guerrilla marketing tactics have certainly worked, as even I have fallen victim to their influence and picked up a few baseball shirts myself. But let’s back up for a moment.

Often referred to as a raglan tee, this design features a relaxed fit and a distinctive contrasting sleeve colour that juxtaposes the (oftentimes white) base. The sleeves are also cut on the diagonal to give a more casual and effortless feeling to the style. I grew up in San Diego, and driving out to the desert was a regular part of my adolescence. It was very fun to get to do it in a much chicer, grown-up way for Kurt Geiger.

If you could only pack one item from this campaign to bring with you on a cross-country summer road trip, which would it be, and why? Are you going for something functional or something that's more of a style statement?

I'm very into the massive platforms. [They're] absolutely not functional, but I think there is something very fabulous, fun, and feminine about a heel by a pool.

Sequins, fringe, rainbow tassels, and bold prints—how do you balance wearing these bold pieces in everyday life without going over the top?

I think it's always about the classic Coco Chanel thing of taking one thing off right before you leave the house. But I say go for it. It's summer!

So many nostalgic, free-spirited styles inspired by the '70s are trending right now. What's one retro trend you're excited to see come back, and what's one you're skipping out on this summer?

I'm definitely skipping out on any fringe or feather situation. I also have to say I'm leaving behind most high-waisted pants. I'm into the color palette, though! Bright, contrasting colors and a mix of materials. I also love a big earring at the moment.

What does wearing Kurt Geiger's accessories make you feel, especially in terms of confidence and embracing life's adventures?

I think we can all get too caught up in taking fashion seriously and avoiding taking risks. I love that Kurt Geiger is encouraging us all to go for it.

If you could plan your own dream road trip inspired by this KG campaign, where would you go?

I've never done a cross-country trip and have always wanted to! … I've lived in New York for most of my life now, but I'll always be a California girl at heart, and there is nothing better than hopping in the car and heading to Mexico for a weekend. It's been years, but I love the Valle de Guadalupe. Beautiful wine country and amazing food.

Just like everyone else, I love buzzy It sneakers—especially when they're affordable. But I don't love it when I can't get my hands on them or succumb to spending more on the resale market. But if you've been patiently waiting for the return of a certain sneaker that celebrities have worn constantly this year, I have good news for you: They've been restocked (for now at least).

The sneakers I'm referring to are Puma Speedcat OG Sneakers, the retro suede style that first made its debut over 25 years ago. The latest to wear the sneakers is Emily Ratajkowski, who wore the black pair with a burgundy leather jacket, baseball cap, and trousers this week in NYC. But it was just the most recent of the many times she's worn them (in every color) in recent months. Other celeb fans are Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence, and Dua Lipa.

Needless to say, it's no surprise the Puma Speedcats have been out of stock everywhere for months, but I just discovered that they're available again and in black, red, and a new powder pink hue (which I'm sure will be a hot commodity in 2025).

If you'd told me previously that I'd be describing a sneaker trend as "rich," I might not have believed you. This morning, I logged on to my laptop and started my day with a quick browse through some recent celebrity looks.

Having been inundated with Halloween outfits over the past few days, I was keen to refresh my inspiration boards with some chic outfit ideas that didn't involve any fake blood or prosthetic makeup. Luckily, my search coincided with the wash-up of images from the LACMA Art and Film Gala that took place over the weekend. With a guest list brimming with celebrity style icons, this fancy event was the perfect chance to get to grips with some of the partywear trends set to take off this winter.

Retaining a sophisticated energy whilst indulging in some playful silhouettes, this event was a treasure trove of event-dressing inspiration. Impressed by the looks seen throughout, I couldn't help but notice a glossy winter 2024 trend embraced by some of my favourite celebrities on the night.

Stepping out in a rich and lavish shade, Sofia Richie Grainge, Emily Ratajkowski and Yara Shahidi all opted for dresses in an elegant chocolate-brown colour. Wearing hers in a full-coverage, draped design, Richie Grainge let the expensive-looking nature of the colour dominate her evening ensemble. Styling her Saint Laurent gown with gold earrings, a layered gold choker necklace and a spattering of rings and bangles, her outfit is one I would more than happily replicate.

Also styling the dress trend, Ratajkowski stepped out in a vintage off-the-shoulder vintage Donna Karan dress from the brand's autumn/winter 1996 collection. Featuring a drop-waist design consisting of a satin top and a velvet skirt, the dress spoke to several major winter trends whilst appearing timeless and classy thanks to the decadent shade.

Appearing across a number of autumn/winter 2024 runway collections earlier this year, chocolate-brown dresses have been affirmed by designers as a major look for the season ahead. Seen throughout the offerings of Bottega Veneta, Dior, Courrèges, Gucci and many others, refined brown dresses have been on my radar ever since.

Styling a floor-sweeping number in an equally rich hue, actor Yara Shahidi wore a twisted-strap Gucci dress with a halterneck design for the evening occasion. Pairing hers with chic drop earrings and a small selection of rings and bangles, she employed the same less-is-more approach to brown party-dress styling as Richie Grainge and Ratajkowski.

Spotted in Sienna Miller's new Marks & Spencer edit, as well as at Reformation, Zara and & Other Stories, the trend is hard to miss this season. And why would you want to? When it looks this sophisticated, it's no wonder so many stylish people are choosing brown dresses over black this year.

The thing I love most about Emily Ratajkowski's style is that even though she has access to the latest pieces from designer brands, she's still entirely open to shopping on the high street—and what's more, through clever styling, she always makes her affordable purchases look so expensive. Often spotted in Mango and Zara, this week I caught sight of her wearing a cosy ribbed knitted dress from none other than my favourite high-street store, H&M.

A midi length in dark grey, the model's dress skimmed her body without clinging. Swooping into a blunted V-neck, the dress features long sleeves and a simple cut, culminating in an understated and expensive-looking silhouette. Seriously, how is this dress still in stock, especially when it only costs £33?!

Forgoing excess jewels or accessories, Ratajkowski reached for a simple black handbag, pared-back rings and silver hoops instead. Finishing her H&M knit dress with black knee-high boots, the model created the kind of winter-ready outfit that fashion people will be all over throughout the year's coldest months. Whilst the weather remains fairly mild, I'd recommend adding a sleek leather jacket, but when the cold really sets in, pair the dress with a floor-skimming coat for maximum cosiness.

Folks, I'm happy to report that most of the color-pairing "rules" we used to have are out the window. We're in the "anything goes" era of fashion, and Emily Ratajkowski is a perfect example of that—especially since she defied an age-old color rule with her outfit last week.
