The ever-fashionable Christine Centenera stepped out yesterday at Paris Fashion Week wearing what is quite possibly the coolest skirt we’ve ever seen. It’s no surprise that her style is on point as per usual, but the skirt did have us doing a double-take.

Made by Céline, the skirt featured layers of pleats that get progressively smaller before wrapping around the side. If it sounds confusing, take it as confirmation that this skirt is just that original: I’m at a loss for words (which is a rare case for a writer).

To complete the look, Centenera paired the skirt with an oversize Céline blazer in the same colour. We’ve seen a lot of menswear-inspired looks showing up in runway shows and street style alike, and Centenera nailed the look. The outfit also reaffirms a suspicion we’ve had about the trend: The key is to opt for pieces that feel unique. While menswear styles are certainly nothing new, choosing pieces that are a little different keeps the trend feeling timely.

It’s no surprise that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has exquisite taste, considering she is one of the world’s most famous models. But her latest sighting in Paris really blew us away, proving that an all-black ensemble is always a good option. Expertly layering a black blouse, jumper, and blazer Huntington-Whiteley’s look was unique enough that it didn’t feel boring at all, despite the one-coloured look. Our favourite part? She was wearing leggings. And not just any leggings: A tailored pair from Christine Centenera’s new brand, Wardrobe NYC.

In fact, the entire outfit (not including accessories) was from the collection, which is aims at simplifying the art of minimalist dressing. Rather than shopping individual items, the site sells the garments in either four or eight piece collections.

Despite this, we still think the model’s chic pants are the real star of the outfit. Fitted more like a traditional work pant than your gym tights, the model’s leggings were sleek enough to look professional. Does this mean that we can now wear leggings to the office? We’re going to say yes; that is, if they are a high-quality, structured pair like Huntington-Whiteley’s.

We already loved Christine Centenera, but Wardrobe NYC is really sealing the deal. Not only does the collection offer high-quality staples, but it also does so in a conscious way, producing luxury garments in limited quantities. Christine Centenera has answered our fashion prayers. The fashion director of Vogue Australia, and one of our forever style muses has launched a clothing line with her partner Josh Goot, Wardrobe NYC. The brand is designed for modern urban life—consisting of in-season high-quality basics for men and women, to help you build a cohesively styled wardrobe, priced without retail margins.

The full collection features 16 pieces (eight for men, eight for women), to form an ideal staple wardrobe. Centenera is often spotted in the classics. A well-tailored blazer. Sleek black pants. The perfect tee. What she aims to do, is bring a solution for people who just don't have time to curate a wardrobe. Explaining to NY Times, "Being authoritative is our way of providing a solution for people. I think that is a huge solution for people to get on with our lives and not having to be so challenged by what and how to put things together".

Unfortunately you can't shop items individually, but the good news, as reported by NY Times, is there'll be updated collections each season. Although we’ve just seen a wash of pretty pastels on the runway with the likes of Chanel, Miu Miu and Bottega Veneta showing at Fashion Week, rest assured, when it comes to putting outfits together, bright bold colours are taking the win. (Trust us) We’ve seen some of our favourite women wear cobalt blue, proving the colour is equally striking and everlasting.

Dressing for a full month of international Fashion Week shows doesn't sound like it would be a tough gig, but trust us, it is. Finding outfits that not only look super polished and chic, but also accommodate the logisticals (like making sure outfits are both suitcase-friendly and can be worn on repeat) is an epic task. Christine Centenera always uses Fashion Month as an opportunity to trial a new trend. Last season she helped revive stirrup pants and launched the Balenciaga blazer craze. This season she's trialling something completely different, and introducing patterned stockings to her look. 

As we approach autumn it's a super affordable way to give your outfit a new spin. If you're a die-hard fashion fan, chances are you've obsessed over at least one outfit worn by Vogue Australia fashion director Christine Centenera. As we look forward to 2017, what will be the biggest trends? We already know what wedding dress styles will be huge, and the #1 colour we'll be wearing, but what about accessories? Our prediction, is the waist belt corset. The recent international fashion week shows are always a good indication of what trends will go mainstream. Basically every major street style star (I.e. the ones that help determine what trends actually stick), were all sporting the corset-style belt. Christine Centenera has long been a fan of the trend (she recently styled Kim Kardashian in a slew of custom-designed corset-belts for the cover of Vogue Australia), and if we know anything, it's that whatever CC endorses, everyone else follows. 

Prada helped revive the trend in its A/W 16 collection with its Lace-Up Denim Waist Belt ($1170) that's proving to be the most popular style among those in the know (see proof once you click through). At the moment, affordable brands haven't caught on, with all the styles available coming from high-end designers, which further proves that by early next year, everyone will have caught onto this major street style trend.

While taking in the shows at Paris Fashion Week, Christine Centenera was snapped wearing the shoes of our dreams—they're so special they literally took our breath away. The shoes are part of Demna Gvasalia's debut collection for Balenciaga, A/W 16, which is when we first spotted them on the runway, however this is the first time we've seen them worn IRL (not that Paris Fashion Week is anything close to real life).

The shoes in question, the Balenciaga Sequin-Embellished Satin Pumps will set you back a cool $4295, and while it may seem like an extraordinary price to pay for a pair of shoes, the fashion girl in us likes to think they're a work of art—an investment piece you can keep on a shelf and admire from afar.

Leaving a bulky shirt hanging over your jeans can add excess weight. Tuck it in at the front, and you'll immediately give the illusion of a flatter tummy. 

An uneven hemline (as in one that goes 'up' in the middle), will lengthen the legs, creating that magical slimming effect. (Why weren't we all just born with long supermodel pins?).

It might sound crazy, but cut-outs in all the right places helps draw focus to your best bits. If you're all about your waist, opt for cut-outs in the mid-section. If shoulders are your favourite part, go for a cold-shoulder top.

We've been highlighting our waists for years, but gone are the days of 'cinching in' with a skinny belt. Now, it's all about the corset belt. It will create a smooth line, and can be belted over everything from an oversized shirt, to a slip dress.

When all else fails, black-on-black is your easiest choice. You'll always feel sleek, and pulled together. Black has a slimming effect, and if you opt for structured pieces (like a blazer, tailored pants, pencil dress), the effects are doubled.

There are certain trends we always expected to see at fashion month—cropped jeans, slip dresses, and slipper flats all included—but what we didn’t expect to see was the return of stirrup pants. You might remember wearing them in legging-form in your childhood—they were big back in the ’90s, but back then, we wore them tucked into our ankle boots. Now, street style stars like Vogue Australia’s fashion director Christine Centenera, fashion blogger Pernille Teisbaek, and stylist Tamu McPherson have all stepped out in a version of the pants in the past week.

The way they’ve styled the look is decidedly different to the way we remember it, with the stirrup acting as an obvious focal point of the look. His streetwear-meets-luxury vibe is trending with supermodels. Gigi Hadid was spotted last week in one of his designs and Bambi Northwood-Blythe is also a fan.

He’s best friends with a superstar. "Virgil is one of the smartest, fastest, most innovative people I’ve created with," West told The New York Timeslate last year.
