The internet never stops churning out new beauty trends, and the changing of the seasons is even more fodder for the “miscellaneous-core aesthetic” preachers. In following the barrage of makeup movements served to me on my aluminum brick, no matter how compelling (I did indulge in the sunburn blush and frosted lipstick trends), I felt that I’d lost my personal sense of style this season. It was only after turning my focus away from the beauty industry that I found a new source of inspiration for spring beauty—and that, my friend, was Jonathan Anderson’s first F/W collection for Dior.

Beauty is, by nature, an extension of fashion. It puts the period on the message the designer is trying to convey through their clothes, whether simple like Prada’s streamlined silhouettes or theatrical like Maison Margiela’s statement-making ensembles. So it’s no surprise that when I discovered the marvel of water lily–inspired shoes, turtle-shaped purses, and chrysanthemum-adorned two-pieces cascading down Dior’s runway at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, I was quickly influenced to translate the show’s palette into my own look.

Since diving into the pastel world of Anderson’s Dior, I have a renewed sense of appreciation for spring beauty. Ahead, the five trends I’ve adopted from his spellbinding show.

Freshwater Eyes

There is little I love more than a punchy pastel eye, so when I spotted this sky-blue clutch on the runway, I realized that I had Dior’s permission to slather this color all over my lids. Though blue eye shadow isn’t exactly groundbreaking for spring and summer, the retro hue is having quite a comeback in 2026. Even celebrity makeup artist Ash K. Holm declared this color the diamond of the season in an Instagram reel; using Danessa Myricks’s Colorfix liquid pigment in the shade Oasis to achieve her robin’s egg lids.

To channel the bag’s freshwater hue, I opted for Victoria Beckham’s EyeWear cream shadow in the shade Cornflower. After swiping this color all over my lids, I blended the color into my crease with a fluffy brush and intensified the look with Hung Vanngo’s Color Story Eyeshadow Palette in Brilliant Blue. Cool, artful, yet modern.

Cherubic Blush

One of the largest trends we saw emerge from global fashion weeks, award season, and the 2026 Met Gala was cherubic blush: the dreamy diffusion of rosy pigment across the cheeks in a cloud-like manner. The subtle pops of pink sprinkled throughout Dior’s latest womenswear collection feel cohesive with this trend, so I’m leaning into rosy skin this season with a few essential blush products.

Dior’s Backstage Glow Maximizer Face Palette includes a cool-pink shimmer pigment that looks just like the hue of Dior’s chrysanthemum appliqués, and it makes the skin look extra healthy thanks to its shimmery finish. (Disco blush, if you will.) I’m also throwing one of Sabrina Carpenter’s go-to liquid blushes into the mix and blending Violette_FR’s new Plume Eye Shadows in the shade Pluie Violette onto my lids for a monochrome look.

Water-Lily Nails

Perhaps the most literal beauty interpretation of this collection that I’ve seen yet is this set by Milan-based professional and editorial manicurist Oksana Zavora. Each nail is accented with a smattering of water lilies, chrysanthemums, pastel French tips, and 3D decals in the form of bubbles or rhinestones—all directly inspired by the collection itself.

If having different nail art on each tip feels intimidating, try alternating milky pink, baby blue, and pastel green shades from finger to finger to get a similar look. I’m also referencing Chanel’s mermaid nails from the fashion house’s latest Cruise 26/27 show—where alternating colors were utilized in sheer, chrome shades—for this whimsical aesthetic.

Chiffon Lips

I usually don’t gravitate toward pink pinks when I do my makeup, no matter the season or the occasion. However, something about Anderson’s use of baby pink in this collection made me rethink my ways. When I got hold of Prada’s brand-new Touch Blush—a cream-to-powder product in elevated, pigmented shades—I used it about half of the time on my cheeks and the other half on my lips. The shades Waterlily and Tulip look extra sweet when tapped onto the lips, especially when applied atop YSL Beauty’s Kiss Shaper liners.

Fruity Femme Fragrances

If Dior’s relatively springy fall collection had a scent, it would be a flurry of fresh greenery, blooming flowers, seasonal fruits, and plump dewdrops. This bouquet of scents got me thinking about floral fragrances that flirt with notes of juicy fruit and sweet earth—so I quickly edited my spring perfume collection to include these three.

It may seem a little too on-theme, but I’d be remiss to overlook Dior’s sumptuous spring perfume offerings. Dior Addict Rosy Glow Eau de Parfum is a new scent that lands on the sweet end of the spectrum with a fruity, lychee base (an extremely popular ingredient right now) draped in a canopy of Damascus rose and dashed with creamy vanilla. For something a bit more sheer and green, I’m tossing Diptyque’s Vetyverio Eau de Toilette into the mix, and Jo Malone’s Poppy and Barley Cologne is my seasonal pick for something juicy and sweet that doesn’t lean gourmand.

Light-wash jeans are officially back thanks to Dior, Jonathan Anderson, and Miley Cyrus. At the French fashion house's cruise 2027 show in Los Angeles, the latter showed up looking cool and casual, donning a pair of light-wash jeans with patchwork details and a matching snap-up collared shirt. She finished off the front-row ensemble with a black Dior shoulder bag and a pair of pointed-toe heels, the perfect shoe style to wear with 2026's fastest-growing denim trend. This is an official apology to anyone who recently donated their many pairs of light-wash jeans after years spent holding on to hope that they'd return to fashion's good graces. If you held out, nice work—patience really can be rewarding.

Light-wash jeans aren't suddenly chic, though. In other words, if you don't style them correctly, you'll probably end up looking dated instead of current and polished. It's an incredibly informal style, so you don't want to pair the jeans with flip-flops, sneakers, or another equally laid-back pair of shoes. Instead, the trick to mastering them in 2026 is to wear them with pointed-toe heels, which have the ability to instantly dress up anything you wear with them. Take a cue from Cyrus and pick a simple black version that can be styled with just about anything—light-wash jeans included.

Cyrus wasn't the only person cosigning this jeans-and-shoe combination at the show, either. Seoyeon Jang, one of the stars of the second season of Netflix's Beef, also wore light-wash denim with pointed-toe heels, but she went with a more sophisticated top: a peplum Dior jacket in navy blue with oversize gold buttons. It felt like a cross between your favorite art teacher and a chic Parisian art gallerist. It's exactly the way I want to dress next season (and truthfully, this season, too), and I'll be looking to incorporate pops of royal purple and maybe a charm necklace or two."

"Dior is in its playful era now that Jonathan Anderson has taken the helm. Anderson has breathed new life into the storied fashion house, which is no small feat given Dior’s stature. For fall, Anderson leaned into shape and structure, with peplum jackets and cardigans as the focal point of multiple looks, paired with everything from equally voluminous ruffled skirts to sleek denim. I could go on and on about the outerwear—the cinch-waist feather-trimmed coat, checked robe coats, sherpa-lined snakeskin jacket, brocade coats, cascading leather jacket—the list goes on. Thanks to this collection, I’m ready to skip summer and go straight to fall."

Chanel

"Minimalism has become the most common theme among runway shows these past few years, but lately, that aesthetic has started to feel performative and lost my attention. That's exactly why Matthieu Blazy's F/W 26 collection at Chanel felt like a breath of fresh air. Rather that stripping things back, he leaned all the way in to what makes Chanel fun. Building a maximalist, bold, cinematic fantasy world that was the polar opposite of quiet luxury. What struck me most was his reimagining of Chanel's iconic tweed. Trend cycles aside, a great tweed jacket is a permanent fixture in my wardrobe, and Blazy's interpretation reminded me why. Layered with eclectic accessories and an unexpected color palette, each look felt like a scene from a Great Gatsby– or Alice in Wonderland–themed film. After seeing the buzz around this debut collection with the brand, I'm sure the line will be once again wrapped around the building when this one hits stores."

Alaïa

"Pieter Mulier's final collection for Alaïa was both emotional and beautiful. For the last time, Mulier removed accessories such as bags and jewelry from the looks, allowing the focus to be on the elegant garments designed to honor the female form. This deliberate, pared-down approach, used to highlight Mulier's signature craftsmanship, made the collection memorable. While outerwear and dresses were the main focus, each piece made a bold statement. For example, the simple, formfitting sleeveless dresses with contour seaming offered understated beauty and countless styling options. The jersey dresses, detailed with crocodile print down the front, directly paid tribute to Mulier's favorite Azzedine pieces and were impactful enough to stand alone. In the coat section, many designs featured a body-hugging fit that subtly flared at the hips with pleats, maintaining the sculptural precision that has defined the house for decades."

Saint Laurent

"Anthony Vaccarello's winter 2026 Saint Laurent collection was a well-tailored presentation of sheer seduction and attention-demanding suits that led a 'conversation between the parameters of femininity and masculinity,' as stated in the show notes. The creative director's decision to revisit Yves Saint Laurent's 1966 Le Smoking was most memorable. A collection of single- and double-breasted suits walked the runway with a 'nocturnal elegance,' as the show notes described, backed by a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower. Cutting the tension of the sharp suits was Vaccarello's inclusion of sheer lace bodysuits and drop-waist fur coats. It's clear to me that Vaccarello's Saint Laurent winter collection will define the style set's wardrobe this fall, either through the pieces themselves or by re-creating the show's silhouettes."

Tom Ford

"I'm obsessed with Tom Ford's extra-sexy F/W 26 collection. I love the low-rise pants with the belts hanging at the waist. It was very '90s and effortless that I will be re-creating even in the spring. It's just hot and easy, which is the vibe I'm definitely trying to give throughout the rest of this year, and the whole collection kind of gave that too. I also loved just how creepy the show was since it was inspired by American Psycho—such a classic, freaky film."

Caro Editions

"Across all the different cities, it's really hard to pick just one, especially with all the emerging designers. That said, I keep thinking about the Caro Editions show in particular. To me, it epitomizes the glamorous dressing trend, which I feel like is ultimately timeless. I think of Old Hollywood, silk dresses, kitten heels, vintage fur, and oversize sunglasses."

Last season, we began to see the rise in a trend we're calling the modern-day bourgeoisie. Defined by rich textures and opulent tones, this mode of dressing signals that collectively, we're moving from an era of staunch minimalism to a new chapter of modern maximalism. The Dior show was defined by this exact motif and featured intricate brocade jackets, embroidered corsetry, iridescent outerwear, and even pantaloons paired with tall boots that signal a much more grandiose and ornate approach to style for fall 2025.

A Very Orlando-esque Wardrobe

Fashion as a tool of metamorphosis is a theme that the designer explored in this collection, and nowhere is that more visible than in these collared ruffle shirts that, according to the show notes, are inspired by the eponymous character of Virginia Woolf’s novel Orlando, a wealthy nobleman who changes gender halfway through the novel and is able to reflect upon the experiences of each one. For Grazia Chiuri, the white shirt is a "founding element of an outfit freed from gender stereotypes," according to the show notes. The collection brought forth a take on the universally appreciated staple that was ruffled and high-necked. Therefore, Dior's shirting isn't a symbol of a single gender identity but rather a reminder of the transformative power of clothing.

The Wrong Jacket Theory, Cont.

It's always a validating feeling when we can spot the roots of an emerging trend take hold and prove its staying power. For spring, designers played with the idea of the "wrong jacket theory" putting sporty anoraks with looks that would otherwise not call for such technical gear, like draped skirts and sequin dresses. It seems from this Dior collection that the styling idea will be staying put into next season. Here, technical all-weather jackets were styled atop delicate lace and ruffled under-layers that prove the right jacket is, well, the wrong one.

Hourglass Dresses

Hourglass silhouettes are already shaping up to be a major theme for fall, with peplum hems and nipped-in waistlines defining much of the tailoring we've seen thus far on the fall 2025 runways. At Dior, that came through via a series of minidresses with perfectly sculpted hourglass shapes. They featured either cap sleeves or skinny straps but all had the same peplum waists and intricate lace embroidery along the edges. Maxis may still be the prevailing hemline of the moment, but these structured minis are an especially fresh way to wear the shorter length.

Every fashion month, we're eager to see what Maria Grazia Chiuri has up her sleeve for Dior. So, on Tuesday, we excitedly tuned in to view the French fashion house's latest S/S 25 collection. What did we witness? A captivating fusion of influences from sports and Greek antiquity, showcasing Chiuri and Dior's unique design perspective.

It's worth noting that Dior has a rich history of integrating sportswear into its designs, however, this collection took the concept to new heights, transcending modern approaches to luxury athleisure and performance wear. The runway show started with multidisciplinary artist and competitive archer Sofia Ginevra Giannì, who showed off her archery skills by firing bows at a target. Models gracefully paraded around her wearing sports-inspired pieces, from cutout asymmetric one-pieces resembling swimsuits or gymnastic leotards to track pants, perfect for pre- or post-workout. Each design was crafted to seamlessly blend form and function using lightweight, performance-oriented fabrics.

Inspired by the proto-feminist Greek goddesses, Chiuri's designs also paid homage to the ancient world with functional silhouettes reminiscent of Grecian attire. For example, protective harness-like belts adorned blazers and elegant one-shoulder silhouettes exuded strength and dynamism, symbolizing women's empowerment and the deep connection to historical roots. Jennifer Garner exuded Parisian chic in a long gray houndstooth coat, black dress, heeled Mary Janes, and the brand's 30 Montaigne bag. The show placed a strong emphasis on antiquity, particularly delving into the rich tapestry of Greek mythology and its profound influence on fashion. Chiuri celebrated the strength and independence of ancient Greek goddesses by reimagining classic cuts from the past, such as the Amazone dress, which symbolizes fearless femininity. Other notable designs included warrior-inspired pleated skirts, harness-like belts on blazers, gladiator sandals, and double headbands resembling tainias, all of which conveyed the bold and assertive nature of women.

Sports-Inspired, Continued

If you've been keeping up with the latest runway shows, you may have noticed that sportswear has been influencing the fashion world. One notable example is Dior's S/S 25 collection, where Chirui put a couture spin on athleisure. She drew inspiration from the 1962 Dior Sport collection, which could be seen through the wide-leg track pants adorned with a retro '70s Dior logo that had been stretched and elongated to create a vertical stripe effect. Additionally, there were many different kinds of sporty footwear, such as boot-like sneakers with details reminiscent of shin guards. The influence of motocross was also apparent through vintage-style leather moto jackets and black-and-white check-print separates.

An Anti-Color Story

The spring 2025 runway collections have been full of vibrant colors, such as powder pink during New York Fashion Week and bright orange at London Fashion Week. The Dior show, however, stood out with its elegant neutral tones, showcasing the power of simplicity through intentional and functional designs.

The first half of the collection featured striking all-black looks, while the middle section introduced captivating combinations of white and black, reflecting Dior's romantic and sophisticated design aesthetic. The latter part of the collection made it one to remember with the rich-looking metallic and bedazzled outfits that featured luxurious gold and champagne hues.

The way that I look at it, two types of fashion purchases: ones that are done with a "right now" mindset and ones that are made for the future. Both are completely necessary and justifiable. After all, maybe you need a new white tee because each one you own has makeup stains or you need a trendy piece of jewelry for a specific event. In these cases, a purchase made on a whim makes sense. Then there are the buys that take days, weeks, and even months of forethought. Those purchases are designed to live a long life, maybe even surpassing your lifetime and extending on for decades to come.

When it comes to future heirlooms like these, there are a handful of fashion items that instantly come to mind. You have iconic mainstays like the Dior Bar Jacket, Bulgari's Serpenti jewelry and timepieces, and Burberry trench coats. But there are also newer arrivals to the scene that are proving to be just as timeless and valued by the fashion community at large, such as The Row's Margaux Bag and Chanel's spring/summer 2024 Mary-Jane flats. If the lore around the Dior Bar Jacket is true, the iconic nipped-in silhouette got its name from the bar at the Plaza Athénée, a Paris locale that Christian Dior, who debuted the creation in 1947, frequented. Dior's Bar Jacket has taken on countless iterations in the 77 years since its hourglass shape made history, transforming with each new creative director at the helm of the French brand. Nonetheless, it's never stopped being a sought-after item, and with elegance and sophistication at the top of everyone in fashion's minds right now, it's arguably never been more in demand.

Last year, Roman jewelry house Bulgari—the jewelry is often spotted on ambassadors Zendaya and Anne Hathaway—celebrated 75 years of its Serpenti line, its most iconic collection that was designed all those years ago to represent metamorphosis and constant transformation. Its wraparound timepieces, bracelets, and rings, which really do adapt and grow stronger every season, are some of the most notable in the entire jewelry industry, not to mention desired, with fashion people everywhere trying to get their hands on one of Bulgari's two-tone cocktail watches or rose-gold chokers.

My grandmother used to collect Hermès scarves and I always thought about them, hoping that one day I'd get to call one of them mine. They were an item that one day, I could actually obtain; something that even now I can't say for certain about a Hermès handbag. When I finally did get one of the French brand's colorful and artfully detailed scarves, it felt like the ultimate style achievement. And that's something I, for one, would love to pass on to the next generation. Though less physically substantial than a Birkin or Kelly bag, Hermès' delicate scarves are embedded in fashion history.

Chanel's spring/summer 2024 collection provided something for the fashion community that's uncommon, to say the least: a future heirloom. We talk a lot about buzzy items that will spur people to shop and talk, but rarely do new releases immediately make the classics list. That, though, is exactly what I'm predicting for the black and white Mary-Jane flats that Virginie Viard sent down the runway at the French house's show back in October of 2023. Right now, they're everywhere, but the timeless design makes it so they won't fizzle out when the next big thing rolls around. They'll live on and hopefully become a staple of the brand for years to come.

Vogue said it best when it called The Row's Margaux Bag—which comes in a variety of sizes, materials, and colors—an "heirloom in the making," liking it to the Hermès Birkin bag. The open-top, top-handle tote is almost always sold out, especially now that The Row has pulled it back from third-party retailers and made it so you can only purchase a new Margaux from the brand's website or stores. And while its celebrity fan base (made up of names like Zoë Kravitz, Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lawrence, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and more) has certainly helped it rise to fame culturally. That isn't necessarily what's made the Margaux into a forever staple for fashion people, though. It's a simple, understated, and practical bag at the end of the day—one that owners of it go back to time and time again.

The 1900s marked the creation of the trench coat—a garment that does it all, touching on stylish, timeless appeal as well as practicality. In 1879, Thomas Burberry invented the material gabardine, an alternative to the heavy, hot rubberized cotton that was traditionally used in waterproof outerwear. At first, it was utilized in the military, but soon, its commercial success skyrocketed, so much so that according to Harpers Bazaar, by 1934, the outfitter's namesake brand had to set up same-day delivery in London to keep up with demand. Today, Burberry's trench coats have taken on hundreds of different aesthetic changes, though it's still a wardrobe staple that checks off both utilitarian and style boxes, allowing it to maintain its value and reputation over time.

Unlike the womenswear shows that can sometimes feel impossible to avoid on social media, if you don't actively pay attention to or cover menswear, you might not have even known that the fall/winter 2024 shows just ended—apart from Loewe, where all the "baby girls" plus Taylor Russell played dress-up in high-waisted corduroys, fuzzy suede boots, and sparkly blazers. That's where I come in. Even if you weren't watching every livestreamed show as they took place like I was, you'd want to know the trends that debuted there and steal them. 

From rugged work coats at Louis Vuitton and Prada (you might remember their lauded appearance in the spring/summer 2024 womenswear collection) to fashion-friendly, undeniably chic groutfits seen at Valentino and Sabato De Sarno's first menswear show for Gucci, the eight trends ahead include a little bit of everything cool right now in fashion. Scroll down to meet them all.

Ever since Prada debuted its S/S 24 collection that featured a delicate mixture of ghostly frocks, flowing fringe skirts, and rugged chore jackets, the fashion world has been enamored with any outerwear that's made of waxy cotton or canvas and features a corduroy collar. The trend isn't going to end when summer does. Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons as well as Pharrell Williams at Louis Vuitton and Kim Jones at Dior are all making it crystal clear in their fall/winter 2024 collections that workwear in the form of chore and country coats will reign for the entirety of the year.

Your social media feed might not have been inundated with menswear content last week, but mine was, and a majority of it was tied to the many glove moments from the shows in both Milan and Paris. Specifically, Gucci's burgundy and bright-green gloves that strategically matched each model's oversize Jackie bags were a fan favorite—as were the elbow-length leather styles seen at Dries Van Noten, a trend that's very much spreading on the womenswear side of things as well.

Just like the sky outside this winter, gray was impossible to miss on the menswear runways this season. Highlights include the heavy gray��hoodie styled alongside charcoal trousers and a tie-clad button-down shirt at Valentino and the single-breasted fuzzy coat at Gucci that was paired with a matching skinny necktie, gloves, a bag, and trousers. In other words, the groutfit is here, and it looks damn good—no sweatpants in sight.

If you're on the hunt for a new jewelry trend that doesn't yet feel overdone, look no further than the growing brooch fad, which is perfect for making your oversize, outfit-covering coats feel stylized and interesting during the colder months of the year. Though brands like Loewe, Saint Laurent, and Gucci are already dabbling in the brooch game, my favorite destination for lapel adornments is the vintage market, where there's a seemingly endless supply of baubles for you to choose from.

I know, I know—wearing corduroys for fall isn't exactly a groundbreaking phenomenon, but after finding the wide-wale, split-hem versions at Fendi, every other pair ever made in the autumnal fabric flew out the window. Then more arrived at S.S.Daley and Neil Barrett, and just like that, I knew that a new, very chic dawn was on the horizon for the formerly slept-on pant trend. I, for one, can't wait.

If you love the idea of a turtleneck sweater but hate how constricting it tends to feel whenever you step foot inside a heated office, restaurant, or home after being out in the cold, this knitwear trend is going to solve all of your fashion problems. Found at Hermès, Wales Bonner, Gucci, and Todd Snyder were oversize and spread-out collars, some of which can zip or button up to become a turtleneck with none of the restrictive qualities.

Canadian tuxedos rarely get the attention they deserve when they're styled on the streets, but they really don't on the runways, where either far more formal or out-there ensembles take precedence over casual ones like double denim. But not this season. From Louis Vuitton's Western-inspired take to Dries Van Noten's denim double-breasted suit, jeans were styled from head to toe all across the fall collections, finally getting a stage worthy of their glory.

Sometimes, the least flashy pieces are the most interesting ones, especially when it comes to menswear. Nowhere was this idea presented more clearly than in the suits shown on the fall/winter 2024 runways. Forget oversize suits and cutouts—at Gucci, Prada, Dries Van Noten, Dior, and more, officewear was all about a return to classic tailoring. Prada took the double-breasted route, while timeless tuxedo silhouettes won out at Dries.

To say that Aria Mia Loberti has that It factor, a magnetism that lights up the screen, would be a gross understatement. She did, after all, land the lead role of Marie-Laure LeBlanc in the upcoming adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize–winning novel All the Light We Cannot See out of thousands of hopefuls during a global casting search for blind and low-vision actresses. Although she had no prior acting experience, Loberti—who was recently named the newest L’Occitane global ambassador—made a big impression, and an early preview of the series confirms her star power. 

It should come as no surprise, then, that Loberti was celebrated as one of the 2023 TIFF Rising Stars this past weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival. The prestigious program showcases the next generation of international acting talent poised for success. Previous honorees include Thuso Mbedu, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Tatiana Maslany. During their time at the festival, TIFF’s Rising Stars are immersed in a series of public events and development meetings with notable industry insiders. For Loberti, the whirlwind three days included stops at the Chanel x Variety annual Female Filmmakers Dinner and the TIFF Tribute Awards. With the help of stylist Sarah Slutsky Tooley, she made quite the fashion impression at both.

"I approach fashion as three-dimensional art—art that can become one with a living, breathing body through shape and texture. The stitching detail on the vintage-inspired shoes harmonizes with the bag’s supple quilted leather and intricate chain shoulder strap. The only thing to me that’s more quintessentially Chanel than the timeless silhouettes and interlocking C logo is the texture of the meticulously handwoven tweed. I was so excited to feel it for the first time when I tried on this skirt!”

"One of the most exciting parts about entering this industry is working with other artists to tell a story. I have such respect for hair and makeup stylists’ incredible work. Of course, they help me evoke more layers in the characters I play and give me space to quiet my own thoughts to ground myself in their identity. But it’s not much different when getting ready for an event like this. I think this is a type of storytelling too. My goal is to capture the spirit and energy of my clothing and tell a story through my look. I was inspired by archival images of Chanel’s heritage, and these two incredible artists, Simone Otis and Chanel Croker, ran with it.”

"And we’re off! My guide dog, Ingrid, is not just wearing her triple strand of pearls as a homage to Chanel. In fact, she never leaves the house without a pearl necklace. This is because she is a fancy woman with high standards. However, her pearls are from the party section in Target, not from Chanel.”

"I was fangirling so hard to have the chance to wear a legacy fashion house’s work in any capacity—let alone be styled in a head-to-toe look—at a sponsored event like this. I grew up in a working-class family, and I always had such an appreciation for these historically significant designer brands, but I never thought I’d ever get to wear them. TIFF Tribute Awards

"After a long day of invigorating Rising Stars programming, it’s time to get ready for the TIFF Tribute Gala. I always assumed my favorite stars just put on some makeup, stepped into a gown, and voilà—red carpet ready. But it takes a village: my stylist, Sarah Slutsky Tooley, and her team; the tailors who help a short girl fit into clothes made for stunning Amazonian models; my agents, manager, and publicists who coordinate getting me to the event itself; my best friend, who came with me on this trip and got stuck steaming clothes when I ran out of time; my mom and dad, who cheer me on on FaceTime; and, of course, Ingrid. All of this before I can take a seat in the hair and makeup chair. I could not do any of this without the team behind me.”

"Fashion is a dialogue with the world around me, a way for me to feel connected to others and lift up my voice. Prior to these last couple of years, I hid behind my clothes. I never wore patterns or anything bright, and I’d always cover up as much as I could. I would not have had the confidence to pose for a photo like this, especially in the middle of a gala. "Attending an event like this is magical, but it’s even more thrilling to attend in one of my absolute favorite brands, Dior. I am inspired by the way Maria Grazia Chiuri has spearheaded this iconic brand as it’s first female creative director, championing Dior’s legacy of women’s empowerment with meaning and fierceness. My first—and so far only—splurge after completing my first acting role was visiting Dior on the Champs-Élysées in Paris and purchasing the coat of my dreams. It was the first time I wasn’t [living] paycheck to paycheck, with money to spend that didn’t have to all go to surviving, and it was such a big step for me. When I found out Dior had sent me a dress to wear for such an important moment, I was incredibly moved. Add to that the spectacular tactile quality of the lace, the bold contrast of black and white, and the flowing drape of the skirt. … I can’t believe I got to wear something as beautiful as this.”

"You’re probably wondering what goes through someone’s head on a red carpet at the center of all the flashing lights and joyful chaos. I am definitely not the person to ask because I am pretty sure I blacked out. However, now that I’ve had a chance to digest it all, let me try to put the feeling into words:

"To be thrust into a world like this, where expressing myself through iconic brands like Dior, Chanel, and Bulgari is possible, is overwhelming but so exciting. To celebrate art and storytelling at such a prolific event is an absolute privilege. But to be honored myself for having a future in a career I never once dared fantasize about? It’s indescribable. Being an actor in any capacity never seemed like an opportunity available to someone like me and felt about as unattainable as finding a wardrobe leading to Narnia or receiving a Hogwarts letter. I can’t express my gratitude enough.”

Unlike the 2020s, when every blazer constructed for women features an excess of fabric, the essential silhouette of the '80s had a far more structured and fitted look. In a fashion era often slept on, designers like Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan at Dior, and Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel crafted the popular workwear piece to accentuate a woman's frame and sense of style by ditching the menswear look in favor of hourglass tailoring, cropped cuts, unexpected lapels, statement buttons, and bold color options. As a result, each blazer felt like an outfit in and of itself. 

A few months ago, I went to a vintage store in Milan called Cavalli e Nastri and discovered a treasure trove of '80s-era YSL Rive Gauche blazers. I've been a bit too obsessed with sourcing the French label's nipped-in and cropped suiting pieces (and similar styles from other brands of the era) on the secondhand market since then, setting up endless alerts on eBay and The RealReal to get the best deals. And the more I search for them, the more often I see them on the streets of New York, in hidden vintage stores, and most frequently, on Instagram. 

All this has led me to conclude that while you shouldn't get rid of every oversize blazer in your closet, it is time to make room for a different style—an older style. This is a style with the power to make any outfit feel more polished, more expensive, and more tuned in than any boxy alternative ever could. And to prove it to you, I gathered just about everything you could ever want to see relating to '80s-era cropped, tailored blazers, from runway images of them from their heyday to modern Instagram adaptations. A black blazer will always be cool, whether it's oversize or fitted, but of all the ones on the market right now, the '80s-inspired, big-shouldered, nipped-waist styles that I've been noticing all over the market of late are by far the most impressive (and I look at a lot of black blazers).

Big shoulder and a tapered waist are two popular stylistic touches from the '80s, especially on blazers. I prefer to wear jackets of this style with slouchy jeans rather than the pencil skirts that many during the era paired with their blazers, but I'm not opposed to trying it their way either.

When I think about this trend, I first think of Yves Saint Laurent and the way he would use the contrast of black and ivory to make his sharp, elevated blazers and jackets from the '80s pop. This peplum style from the S/S 1989 collection proves the timeless color palette is always a good idea. And of course, don't forget a big pair of statement earrings.

Red, a color that will always remind me of my grandmother's vintage jackets and blazers from the '80s, is no doubt one of the year's most buzzed-about members of the color wheel, having been spotted across the F/W 23 runway season at Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta, Tory Burch, The Row, and Stella McCartney. As such, combining the two will be a must once fall's weather arrives.

Though many of the blazer styles from the '80s featured cropped hemlines, some had a more longline silhouette that helped to create the look of a pronounced waist, especially when paired with heavy shoulder pads. Personally, this shape—shown above at YSL's haute couture show from the S/S 1987 season—is the one I've been searching for with the most rigor this year after spotting one just like it in Milan.

Though old-school fashion rules might dictate that you stop wearing white after Labor Day, jackets like this are the ultimate fuel for anyone adamantly against storing away their favorite light-colored pieces upon fall's arrival. If you're looking to toe the line, stick with "winter whites" or shades of ivory and cream. Both give off the same rich-looking vibe as classic white but aren't quite so summery.

A black tweed lady jacket with statement gold buttons can turn even the most boring—or better yet, simple—outfit into a sartorial masterpiece worthy of being worn on repeat. Take inspiration from this haute couture Chanel look by adding clip-on earrings and a vintage brooch.

As much as everyone likes to say that '80s fashion was all loud and over-the-top, there was a way to dress on the more minimal, quiet-luxury side of the spectrum during the era, one of which involves throwing on a fitted wool blazer, a classic pair of black pumps, and a pencil skirt. Done.

But if bright colors and statement shapes are your thing, there's certainly no shortage of options to choose from either, both on the vintage market (I've probably scrolled through hundreds on Etsy) and new from affordable brands like Zara and Mango.

Though they're home to the same revered fashion houses as every womenswear season, the menswear shows rarely get the same amount of attention or buzz. The shows are attended by a niche selection of editors, stylists, and industry professionals; cut in roughly half compared to the women's shows; and timed right before couture week, so the biannual unveiling of menswear collections simply (and sadly) gets overshadowed in many ways. But in my mind, they are, more often than not, a treasure trove for outfit and trend ideas.

Don't just take my word for it, though—that would be irresponsible. Instead, read up on, scan photos of, and shop the eight most alluring menswear trends from the spring/summer 2024 shows, all of which you can conveniently do by scrolling down just a few notches. While the trends are from the men's department, the shopping isn't. (You're welcome.) Without further ado, get to know the menswear trends that'll be everywhere next spring and pick out every one that you'll be wearing yourself. 

A clear through line can be drawn from the fall/winter 2023 womenswear collections to the just-debuted spring/summer 2024 collections in regard to the trend I'm calling "peak wearability." Not too long ago, dressing erred more on the complicated than the easy side, with the need to mix and match patterns and bright colors (without doing too much) being a regular stressor in many fashion peoples' brains. Now, brands like Prada, Loewe, and Gucci are all pushing a far more relaxed dressing agenda that involves denim, trench coats, and blazers instead of wild silhouettes and trippy patterns.

Though there were a few pairs of extra-long, almost capri-length shorts on the men's runways this season in Milan and Paris, the majority of non-pants were short—like really, really short. Wales Bonner and Dries Van Noten kept their options quite casual with flowier silhouettes that would fit right in on the stone streets of a seaside Italian town, and Dior, Hermès, and Ami went a more formal route, manufacturing the daring silhouette in structured tweed and leather.

Goodbye, loud colors—hello, head-to-toe gray. But don't think of that as a bad thing. If the spring collections taught me anything, it's that wearing a groutfit can only lead to total chicness, especially if tailored pieces like blazers, pressed shorts, and trousers are involved.

Though a lot of what came out of the spring/summer 2024 menswear shows was pretty relaxed and wearable, there was one volume-up trend to take note of: all things bright, sparkling, and sequin covered. At Loewe, Jonathan Anderson sent models down the runway in denim covered in crystals, whereas Gucci's lookbook featured entire ensembles made of a chrome-like embellishment. Tame? No. Fun to wear? Certainly.

If you were starting to doubt yourself for buying so many cardigans in the late 2010s and early 2020s when the sweater style was the only one anyone could talk about, let this season's menswear offerings soothe your mind. From Fendi to Dior, the knit that every single grandpa on the planet adored (yes, that's an exaggeration but only slightly) was everywhere, made of tweed and fine cashmere alike.

From super-deep V-necks to daringly low-scooped cuts, the tanks, sweaters, and polos showcased at Valentino, JW Anderson, Saint Laurent, and more during the spring 2024 menswear shows weren't designed for the faint of heart. But that doesn't make me want to wear them any less. In fact, like most risqué trends, it only makes them more alluring and challenging (in a good way) to style casually this season.

Knitwear's typically reserved for the fall and winter runways, but one exception arrived this season in the form of loosely woven sweaters and vests at Dries Van Noten, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Amiri, and more. The beach-ready throw-over is one to always keep on hand for those chilly summer nights when going sleeveless will only end in goosebumps and disaster.

No matter how steamy it tends to get in Italy and Paris during the spring and summer, designers such as Matthew Williams at Givenchy and Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent refused to give fashion people a breezy reprieve in the suiting department. Working as a beauty editor, I come across several new beauty products on my desk, but there are a select few that go on to become modern icons. They are the ones that beauty editors and lovers alike agree will stand the test of time in the beauty hall of fame. I'm talking the likes of Chanel Les Beiges Cream Bronzer (I'll never, ever be without it), Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 (made TikTok famous for its expensive-smelling connotations) and Living Proof's Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo, which just about every beauty editor swears by.

However, when it comes to the best lip oils, nothing is more popular than Dior's lip oil. With 773 million views and counting on TikTok, I'm certain that we can now declare it a modern beauty icon, with several brands jumping on the bandwagon to create their own dupes.

But at £33, I will admit it's certainly not the cheapest of lip oils around. So is the Dior Lip Glow Oil *actually* worth the hype? I decided to put it to the test to find out.

Dior Lip Oil Review:

The Formula

For this review, I tried the shade Rosewood, which is a sheer muted pink. There are several other elegant lipstick shades in the collection, ranging from transparent to pink to coral and deep burgundy. So there is an option for every skin tone and lip colour preference.

First things first, we need to talk about the formula. I personally feel that no other lip oil is as good as this one. The Dior Lip Glow Oil is enriched with cherry oil, which is particularly hydrating and leaves lips coated in a glossy lacquer that is neither sticky or greasy. It feels midway between a gloss and one of the best lip balms, making it a great addition to keep in your handbag. And who wouldn't want to pull this luxe vial out of their bag? The packaging looks and feels chic, closing with a satisfying click as you twist the lid. It has a sweet yet minty scent, which isn't overwhelming by any means, it's only really noticeable if you hold it up to your nose.

The Application

Now, this might be my favourite part about the product. The formula actually reacts with the moisture in your lips to leave you with a subtle tint upon application. But, it lasts well after the gloss has worn off, leaving you with a pretty stain hours later. Perfect if like me, you're quite low-maintenance with lip products and want a touch of colour without the faff of reapplying a lipstick. That being said, I enjoyed using this so much that I did top up every couple of hours to enjoy the hydrating and glossy effects.

It feels so luxurious to apply, partly due to the formula, but also the oversized doe-foot applicator, which is so cushiony that it hugs the lips as you swipe it across. It feels silly to get excited about an applicator, but trust me—it's a luxurious experience.

As you can see, the initial result is very glossy, and it has already given my lips a touch of colour. This lasted for an hour or so before most of the gloss started to disappear after eating and drinking. However, my lips still felt so hydrated. And as someone who always, always has dry lips (I'm never more than two metres away from a lip balm at any given point) this is somewhat of a miracle. I also liked that my lips still had a hint of colour to them (see below) even after the initial sheen had worn away.

So is the Dior Lip Glow Oil really worth it? If you're asking me, it's a hell yes. It's safe to say that I'm a Dior Lip Glow Oil convert. Not only is the formula beautiful, but I love the subtle tint and hydration that it gives my dry lips. I'll be considering what other shades to get next—scroll ahead to see the ones I'm shopping.

Face-Framing Brows

Thanks to her ridiculously good genes (her parents are actor Johnny Depp and French model Vanessa Paradis), Depp was blessed with gorgeous bold eyebrows. They always brilliantly frame her face, highlighting her deep-set eyes and bringing out her high cheekbones. Try as you might, but you won't find a pic of her on the internet without her eyebrows done.

Neutral Tones

While we love to see Depp pretty in pink, her neutral moments are just as iconic. While sitting front row at the Chanel womenswear S/S 22 show, she wears this effortless neutral makeup look that leaves her absolutely glowing.

Flirty Wings

We'll never say no to flirty winged-out eyeliner like Depp wore at the Chanel womenswear S/S 21 show. If her classic Chanel pink tweed set and floral bralette weren't enough to steel the show, she also completely won us over with this high-fashion makeup look that has her winged eyeliner front and center.

In the world of Formula One—where Rolex sponsors races, Tommy Hilfiger finances teams, and drivers fund tables at the Met Gala—fashion has always played an essential role in the success of the sport. "These two worlds have never been totally apart,” says Rocco Iannone, the creative director of Ferrari’s Milan-based fashion label. "Both are driven by deep passion.”

Yet anyone who follows both F1 and fashion can see that the relationship between the two enterprises has fundamentally changed in recent years. Today, the latter’s role involves more than just a brand name embossed on the side of a car or printed trackside on a safety barrier. It’s personal. These days, fans of a driver may spend as much time watching their performances on the track as they do researching the outfits they wear in the paddock or to media events, if not more. On F1 TikTok, you are just as likely to see a compilation of WAGs’ (wives and girlfriends in F1 speak) looks during a race weekend as you are iconic radio messages by the now-retired 2007 world champion Kimi Räikkönen. When drivers Lando Norris, Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly, and Esteban Ocon were featured in Vanity Fair last April, fans flocked to magazine stands around the world not only to read about their lives in the corresponding story, "Netflix, Drive to Survive, and the New Cult of F1 Fandom,” but also to see their lavish ensembles styled by Michael Darlington, from a logo-covered Louis Vuitton peacoat on Norris to a hot-pink Gucci jumpsuit on Ricciardo.

Due in large part to the smash success of Netflix’s docuseries Formula 1: Drive to Survive as well as the rise of social platforms like TikTok and Twitch, F1 has taken a turn for the democratic, losing its hyper-exclusive reputation. Instead, a younger and largely American audience has paved the way for a new era of F1, where the relationship between it and fashion goes beyond just sponsorships. Drivers are fashion influencers (whether they know it or not); teams are brands, with shows on the fashion-month calendar alongside Prada and Ferragamo; and merch is sold on the secondhand market with as much hype as a pair of Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 550s or Wales Bonner x Adidas Sambas. Whether old-school fans of the sport like it or not, F1 isn’t just about racing anymore. In more ways than one, it’s become about fashion too.

"I have not seen mainstream [fashion] brands dig into the sport, at least not since I started watching, as much as they do now,” says Rashi Gaur, whose Instagram account @hamazinglew, which she started in 2013, has over 20,000 followers. Gaur has been a fan of Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton since 2012 and fashion since, well, forever. Given their shared interest in style—Hamilton has designed collections for Tommy Hilfiger, is the first male ambassador for Valentino’s Di.Vas (Different Values) campaign, and frequently shows up to races in expertly crafted looks—Gaur transitioned the handle in 2018, dedicating it to identifying the driver’s paddock outfits. Basically, it’s F1’s version of @checkthetag, every fashion editor’s source for red carpet credits, but for one especially well-dressed driver. 

For her, it’s the seven-time world champion’s boldness when it comes to dressing that intrigues her most. "The way he expresses himself in high fashion or basic streetwear with confidence is quite inspiring,” she says. "There is no one in the paddock who would dare to opt for such styles due to the conservative mentality that still exists within the sport.” For a long time, Hamilton faced judgment for his involvement in the fashion industry, with critics expressing concerns that it would distract him from his duties on-track. Each new title, however, acted as proof that they were wrong, in turn allowing the driver more freedom to express himself sartorially. 

Until recently, Hamilton was an outlier in the paddock. He donned colorful looks by Bottega Veneta and Louis Vuitton as well as smaller, often Black-owned labels like Bianca Saunders and Daily Paper while most other drivers wore only their team gear. Similar to the way NBA players have become known for wearing bold ensembles as they arrive at games, Hamilton’s arrival at every race weekend includes a fashion statement, one crafted with the help of image architect Law Roach. "Lewis has always been unafraid to show off his style,” says Gaur. "This has had an influence on other racers, and they have gradually become open to showing off their own personal styles.” For instance, Alfa Romeo rookie Zhou Guanyu arrived in the sport in 2022 and didn’t skip a beat in the style department, showing up right away to races in majority Prada. On a less frequent scale, McLaren driver Ricciardo has recently shown interest in fashion during race weekends, specifically at races in the U.S., like Miami and Austin. In turn, both Zhou and Ricciardo have fan accounts of their own that are dedicated to identifying their outfits. 

According to AlphaTauri driver Yuki Tsunoda, who started in F1 in 2021, he gets more questions in his DMs about his outfits during a race weekend than his actual driving. "[I’ll get messages like,] ‘Today’s fashion was really great’ or ‘Where’d you get that from?’” he tells me. From his perspective, fashion is a way for drivers, who spend a majority of their time in racing suits, shoes, and helmets, to express themselves. "As soon as I sit down in an F1 car, you can only characterize me from my helmet,” he says. "You cannot see much about how a person looks outside of a racing car, so fashion is a good way to show your personality, like [how] Lewis does. It also invites another type of fan [into the sport] from outside of racing.”

With increased attention being paid toward their looks, drivers have become more and more sought after by brands, for magazine covers, attendance at fashion shows, and dressing in general. Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has been spotted in the front row at Armani shows, and his teammate Carlos Sainz just attended the Milan Fashion Week presentation for Ferrari, which showcased both drivers’ race suits from the Italian Grand Prix alongside other racing-inspired pieces for spring/summer 2023. The teammates covered GQ’s September cover, dressed in Ferrari and Armani exclusively, in the same month that Hamilton starred on the cover of Vanity Fair, wearing hot-pink Valentino. In June, Gasly dressed in Louis Vuitton from head to toe to attend the brand’s men’s show in Paris, while Zhou did the same at the Prada men’s show in January. 

According to Iannone, having the team’s drivers, Leclerc and Sainz, as brand representatives is invaluable for Ferrari’s fashion brand despite the fact that neither have a background in the industry. "Charles and Carlos are the perfect embodiment of success, strength, and energy and represent the values in which young and older people alike recognize themselves,” he says. "It makes them two top players able to influence consumer choices as well.” Italian sneaker brand P448’s CEO, Wayne Kulkin, came to the same conclusion after collaborating with AlphaTauri drivers Gasly and Tsunoda on custom sneakers that launched ahead of the Italian Grand Prix in September. "[The collection] sold out in 24 hours,” he shares. "And I’ve never had more requests for free shoes in my entire [career].” According to Kulkin, P448 is always looking for new ways to interact with consumers and embracing tactics outside of its normal comfort zone. Teaming up with an F1 team and its drivers hasn’t always been commonplace in fashion, yet the experiment proved successful, making way for similar partnerships in the future. 

As F1 becomes more and more successful internationally and online and its drivers become increasingly involved in the fashion space, trends have also started to shift in the direction of the sport. On the fall/winter 2022 runways, moto- and racing-inspired silhouettes, like padded color-block leather jackets and gloves as well as helmets, appeared at some of fashion month’s most prominent shows, including Dior, Balmain, David Koma, and Coperni. In May, Chanel held its Resort 23 show on the beaches of Monte Carlo, nearby where the iconic Monaco Grand Prix has taken place since 1950. For the collection, Creative Director Virginie Viard designed racing suits and mechanic’s overalls in a glamorized fashion, made of sequins and tweed. She also featured checkered flag patterns and helmets printed with the number five on them. The trend continued the following season, with Ferrari and Stella McCartney both showcasing racing suits in their S/S 23 collections, and brands such as GCDS, Dion Lee, Eytys, Balenciaga, Courrèges, and Diesel all included pieces similar to those worn in motorsport.

Perhaps even more influential are the prominent figures in fashion who’ve been all too ready to embrace the trend. Dua Lipa donned Givenchy racing gear during her recent trip to Japan, and Rosalía wore moto-inspired looks throughout her Motomami World Tour. Content creators Emili Sindlev, Camille Charrière, and Chiara Ferragni have all, too, added to the racing craze with their outfits, leading mass fashion brands like Zara to introduce moto styles of their own to their offerings in recent months. 

Thus far on the fashion circuit, though, many trends have leaned more toward bikercore than specifically F1, but Fashionista editor and F1 fan India Roby is predicting a transition into "motorcore” any day now. "Right now, people are bunching all things motorcycles and race cars into one big trend, but we’ll probably see more people set them apart soon,” she says. "I feel that we’re close to a fashion-F1 breakthrough.” According to Roby, with the hype around the sport currently at an all-time high as we approach the end of the 2022 season and the fifth season of Drive to Survive on its way, the combination of F1 fandom and fan fashion is about to explode. And when it does, she says vintage merch—like Ferrari varsity jackets, one-piece utility jumpsuits, balaclavas, and team-branded caps—will be impossible to miss.

Clearly, anyone who still thinks modern-day F1 starts and stops with on-track racing is sorely mistaken. And as Roby implied, the sport’s connection to the fashion world isn’t on course to end anytime soon. According to Gaur, interest in driver style is the highest it’s been since she launched @hamazinglew. "When I started posting about Lewis back in 2018, I was the only such page in F1 on Instagram,” she says. Now, ID accounts are commonplace for practically every driver as well as their partners, who oftentimes end up influencers themselves. (See Charlotte Siné, Isa Hernáez, and Carmen Montero Mundt for proof.) "Personally, I think this is great to see within a sport which has been so narrow-minded in its ideologies,” says Gaur. F1 is changing and, in turn, becoming more inclusive and far easier to get involved in, especially for fans who didn’t grow up watching races. At the rate we’re moving, it won’t be long before fans start arriving at the sport for the clothes. Once they hear the fast cars, I guarantee they’ll be hooked.

Growing up, I'd tirelessly devour the coverage of every fashion week around the globe. When the time came, I'd spend hours combing through designer looks, pinning them to my wall for inspiration, and most importantly (and now very relevant to my job title), lusting after the out-of-this-world beauty looks that seemed to get better and better every year. I'm always both surprised and delighted by the runway beauty looks created—whether they're a tad unrealistic for everyday wear or not. To give you some insight into what beauty trends are brewing for the upcoming spring/summer season, I've pieced together some exciting patterns spotted on the runways of each major city from New York to Paris and Milan. To kick things off, let's start with New York's hottest trends. Lined lids were a huge hit. I'm not just talking lightly lined here—they were très dramatique this season. Normally, liner is reserved for the inner corners, outer corners, or along the lash line, right? Well, this time around, models were sporting eyeliner either in place of eye shadow or atop their shadow. It's definitely a unique take that's easy to re-create at home using a solid gel or pencil liner.

Chalky pastel colors also took center stage in New York as models sported rainbow hues on both the lids and even the entire face. It's definitely bold, but if you're wanting to add more of a grainy, chalky feel to your look, it's fully on-trend.

Sparkling facial embellishments were a hit, with everything from glitter brows to extra-large hair beads that form a crown. Facial piercings also made an appearance with extra-flashy nose rings front and center.

Facial embellishments were trending in both New York and London this time around. The runways in London, however, definitely took it to new heights with artistic crystals, bold, winged chin accessories, and decorated glasses.

I do a little dance every time disco-style makeup makes a comeback. Glittering accessories, sequin eye shadow looks, and of course, glitter was highly prominent on the London runways, too.

Instead of the chalky, sooty colorful looks we saw in New York, London models came fully adorned in radiantly bright shades on the face. Particularly, hot pink dominated the runway with both smoked-out eye looks and some with magenta-hued eye shadow darkened around the lids.

Paris took winged liner to a whole new level. From chunky black lids to thin, crisscross-style liner, there's a vibe for everyone. You can even do a colored liner for an extra pop of color.

Heavy metallic gold and silver eye makeup in Paris made for an adventurous and eye-catching look. Thick, gold eye paint makes a statement but you can also opt for a lighter, barely there silver shade just below the brow as seen on the models at Elie Saab.

This favorite trend of the bunch came out swinging in Milan. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a stardust type of look. Pair a shimmery shade with a touch of glitter around the eyes for a look of celestial wonder.

Brightly colored lips made a strong appearance in Milan as models sported every hue from pastel yellow to a two-toned raspberry look. I love the idea of pairing an electric color like purple with another shade like Barbie pink.

You can never go wrong with a bronze, smoky eye, and runway shows across Milan really leaned into this. It looks truly beautiful on all skin tones and can be dusted all over the lids and below the brows or placed on strategic points of the lids for a subtle glow.

Even after 30+ years in the spotlight, Jennifer Lopez proved on her Parisian honeymoon that she's still full of surprises, sartorial ones especially. In Manhattan, nobody cares what you wear. To be quite honest, nobody really notices anything; someone can be walking on their hands in a green tutu through Washington Square Park, and no one looks twice. At a certain point, we all become immune to the varied fashion and personalities that walk the streets around us. While this is a luxury most of the time, like when I’m hungover at the bagel shop and look rather, well, disheveled, sometimes you want people to notice your outfits. I get kind of sad when I spend 40 minutes putting a look together and no one gives a second glance. And yet, whenever I wear this one thing, I always get compliments, and that’s denim.

Whether it be a Canadian tuxedo I stroll into work in, my denim Golden Goose sneakers I wear with just about everything, or a deep-wash jean dress, people always say something. I don’t mean this in a conceited way; it’s honestly just something about the denim that gets people talking. If, like me, you've already binged the entirety of Netflix's Bling Empire, you're probably still thinking about the OTT outfits and extravagant jewellery. Giving us a glimpse into a world where Gucci-filled claw machines are a normal part of 1st birthday parties and Dior personal shoppers make house calls, complete with racks of new-season clothing, Bling Empire offered the perfect dose of lavish escapism (which is precisely what I needed entering yet another week of lockdown). 

Even after spending years working in the fashion industry, the concept of haute couture and fine jewellery still feels like another world, reserved for celebrities attending Cannes Film Festival or nominees at the Oscars. Though for this very particular set of wealthy Angelenos, bespoke buys practically come with the territory.

Whether attending a dinner party, spa day, or yoga class, the cast of Bling Empire was basically always dripping in designer wears, and this eccentricity (though often impractical) is part of the reason I couldn't stop watching. Heiress Anna Shay was rarely seen without her Dior slingback heels, while Christine Chiu made her love of diamonds abundantly clear. Jaime Xie, an influencer on the rise, donned some of the most memorable runway accessories from recent seasons (Givenchy pearl headband and Chanel earrings included), and Chèrie Chan toted an impressive rotation of Hermès bags.

There are few makeup artists as legendary and prolific as Gucci Westman. She’s responsible for the beauty looks on countless magazine covers (think Jennifer Aniston for InStyle and Reese Witherspoon for Vogue) and ad campaign and runway looks for fashion’s biggest brands (Dior, Proenza Schouler, and Oscar de la Renta), and she has a celebrity client list that could fill this page. Westman’s coveted aesthetic has become renowned and unmistakable, a supernatural dewy glow, which you may or may not recognize as makeup at all. 

Growing up between Sweden and L.A. gave Westman a unique perspective on beauty from a young age, and at 23, she enrolled in a four-month program at a makeup school in Paris. She was hooked and shortly thereafter moved back to L.A. to put her newly learned techniques to use. Though she worked many of her first jobs without pay, prioritizing the experience and exposure, it wasn’t long before word of her profound talent and dedicated work ethic spread, and she added her first legendary piece of work to her résumé: the makeup for Spike Jonze’s feature film directorial debut, Being John Malkovich. It was there that she met Cameron Diaz, whom she would work with regularly in the coming years, while adding countless other celebrities to her roster.

Westman eventually moved to New York, where she met Vogue’s creative director, Grace Coddington (tune in for that story), and her career would be forever changed. "I had probably a year and a half straight where I did all of the covers, and then I also had multiple issues where I did the cover and every story,” she remembers of her early days with Vogue. Westman had become arguably the most influential makeup artist of the time, working between editorial and brand campaigns and fashion week runway shows from New York to Milan, where she recounts not only spotting trends on the runway but also creating them. "In New York, I used to do sometimes eight or nine shows, and if I really wanted a red lip to be a trend, I would do it multiple times until it translated that the red lip is a trend,” says Westman. 

Westman went on to become the international artistic director at Lancôme and spent 13 years as the global artistic director at Revlon, where she worked on product development, color, and trend collections for the brand. Those experiences became invaluable when, two years ago, after identifying a white space in the market, she debuted her own line of clean, high-performance, and uncompromisingly luxurious makeup under Westman Atelier. Creating formulations from scratch that meet her highly critical performance standards and exclude her extensive ingredient blacklist is no easy feat, but as Westman says, "nothing that comes easily is rewarding." Now, as the founder and creative director of the brand, Westman’s aesthetic and creative vision are coming alive in a brand-new way.

That back-to-school feeling is something I haven't thought about in a long time. From brand new books to freshly shined lace-up brogues and those obligatory logo-emblazoned jumpers (that were always just a little scratchy), the beginning of the school year was a moment to look forward to. Although my school days are now long gone, the recent A/W 20 collections have given me an odd sense of nostalgia, as the runways of Dior, Prada, Lactose and more seem to be pulling their inspiration from preppy school uniforms.

My mother, Nancy, like me, believes that it's the accessories that truly make an outfit, well, an outfit. While she often sticks to more basic clothing that fits within the classic style she's been honing in on for years, she tends to, as she puts it, "spice things up" with her extras—especially her handbags. While she's invested in a few designer bags over the years that have definitely withheld their cost-per-wear value, there are a few other silhouettes she's dreamt about owning.

Naturally, I gave feedback on said styles when she listed them off to me. For the most part, I was on board with each designer handbag pick she covets because they're timeless, and although my mom is 60, would work for anyone at any age. Not only has this bag remained iconic, but its limited availability, especially in classic color and hardware combinations means that Chanel can alter how they retail this model with little repercussions. For the last several years, the price has increased annually, causing the demand for it on the resale market to increase as well."

Nancy's Notes: "I love a crossbody bag for functionality purposes. I have a larger style, but I like that this flap one is a bit smaller, but will hold the essentials."

Gorra's Notes: "Its name alone should tell you how much LV fans love this bag. It’s a simply designed flap bag with two strap options for versatility and functionality and is available in two sizes. Louis Vuitton is often sold out of this model at their retail stores, meaning buyers must look to resellers to purchase it."

Nancy's Notes: "I love the Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag as well, but when I see people with this one—especially out and about or at the airport—it just feels so classic."

Goyard does not offer this bag for purchase in its stores; you must order it and have it delivered, something that takes up to four weeks. They have one of each of the available colors and sizes in their stores, keeping in mind they might not have all available options on hand if they are out of stock, so buyers will need to go to resellers to find the right color and size combination."

Nancy's Notes: "I've been seeing this structured tote more and more. Again, like all of these, this would definitely be a splurge and an investment, but I like the cloth material for travel and life in general."

Gorra's Notes: "Recently, Christian Dior has brought back their 'Dior' printed canvas which was previously known as Diorissimo. Not only is this tote incredibly functional, spacious, and chic, it also brings back a sense of nostalgia—a major trend this year. Since the Book Tote was released, it has flown off the shelves making it harder to find in stores which, in turn, hikes up its price on the resale market."

Lily of the valley, or muguet in French, is incredibly underrated. Not to be confused with the standard lily, its white, bell-shaped buds grow along a green stalk. The flower symbolizes happiness, purity, and humility, which is why it's often used in wedding bouquets. Kate Middleton, now Princess of Wales, famously featured it in her own. It was also Christian Dior's favorite flower. To this day, it's given prominence in some of the designer's most popular perfumes. It's also an emblem associated with Dior Couture.

Despite that, I think it's the absolute epitome of elegance, and other people seem to agree. I collect so many compliments when I'm wearing one of my signature muguet scents. According to Vestiaire Collective, Gucci continues to be the golden child of the resale market, as the brand came out on top as the best-selling on Vestiaire for 2019. What's more is the brand actually grew an impressive 39% year on year in terms of sales volume. Open for Vintage, another vintage luxury resale site, also saw an increase in demand for Gucci. As the brand explained, at the beginning of the year, Gucci accounted for 1.4% of overall sales on the site. However, it ended the year making up around 13% of total sales.

Aside from Alessandro Michele's obvious success with Gucci, according to Vestiaire, Dior also saw a 40% year-on-year growth in sales volume, while Prada's sales also increased by 39% year on year.

In terms of emerging brands, Ralph Lauren had the highest growth rate with a staggering 234% sales increase year on year on Vestiaire, while influencer-favourite Ganni followed closely behind with a 189% year-on-year sales increase.

So whether you're choosing to purchase from the resale market or plan to buy your items new with the thought of reselling in the future, according to Vestiaire, the four brands below are definitely a good investment.

Whatever texture, and whatever outfit Z wore, we all were left wondering if we could become the carpet, just so she could step on our neck.

Beyoncé once said, "Don’t hurt yourself,” but honestly, I've spent the last decade hurt. As any member of the Beehive knows, Beyoncé had us going through the past decade (in the best way). She emanated a level of excellence that only Beyoncé can achieve. I mean, I could list all the incredible things she did in the last decade: producing an iconic visual album, launching her apparel line, being the first black woman to headline Coachella and turning it into a record-breaking Netflix documentary—and we haven’t even gotten to any of the fire fits she served us with. But let’s be real, this singular look says it all.

WHO: Zoe Saldaña

WHAT: Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, Met Gala, 2016

WEAR: Dolce & Gabbana gown; Christian Louboutin heels

One would be naive to not correlate style with Zoe Saldaña—I mean, just look at this Dolce & Gabbana gown she wore to the Met Gala back in 2016. But, beyond blessing us with her beauty, Saldaña has continuously spoken up about the lack of LatinX representation within Hollywood over the past decade. Y’all thought we were done with the royal weddings? Nope. This past decade blessed us with not one but two. And in that fashion, Meghan Markle also blessed us with this second controversial reception dress from Stella McCartney on her big day, along with the most fabulous guest list to ever attend a wedding. And while some questioned (and continue to question) Meghan’s style choices from that day on, for many, as they tuned in to watch the royal nuptials, they realized that for the first time they could see themselves reflected in a Dutchess and her personal style.

Chrissy Teigen is many things—boring is not one of them. Not only does she constantly impress me with her witty banter (mostly found on Twitter); but her on- and off-duty style over the past decade continues to surprise and delight me and her millions of fans. Whether she’s spotted with her adorable babies or walking the red carpet next to her Instagram husband, this woman looks good without fail.

WHO: Celine Dion

WHAT: Paris Fashion Week, 2019

Honestly, what is life without Celine Dion? Do you know any other women who can pull off a Chanel spandex jumpsuit? That look aside, the Canadian musician has been in the spotlight since she was 18, but like wine, her style has only gotten better with time. Her ability to wear everything from spandex to gowns this past decade is proof that true style has no age.

WHO: Lana Condor

At the end of the decade, we saw Lana Condor begin to establish herself as not only someone to watch on screen (with her popular Netflix film, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before) but on the red carpet as well. Only time will tell how Condor’s style evolves, but from what we’ve seen thus far we’re placing heavy bets she’ll be defining the next decade of what it means to embody style too.

As you probably know, it’s no easy feat picking one iconic look from a legendary style icon. No other celebrity has been able to quite procure as many collective gasps as Jennifer Lopez—and Pinterest boards dedicated to her decades of fashion, might I add. But maybe the look of all looks is the reboot of the deep-V Versace dress she originally wore to the 2000s Grammy Awards. Like J.Lo herself, this dress is timeless, ageless, and forever iconic.

While Lizzo’s rise to popularity was over the past few years, she in many ways is the fullest expression of how style has evolved over the past decade. In fact, no other musician has quite used their platform like Lizzo to promote body positivity and self-acceptance while looking good as hell doing so. Lizzo’s style represents how far we’ve come from the days of restricted beauty and style expectations and our evolution into a space where, for once, true style isn’t defined by decade, age, ethnicity or size. True style is timeless.

I'm not afraid to admit I'm constantly rotating Sex and the City reruns for love and dating advice, lifelong friendship dynamics, and, of course, major Carrie style inspo. Regardless of the show’s inaccurate depictions of being a single writer living in New York (and buying endless designer shoes), I usually gain something from each episode. It’s one of those go-to Sunday binge-watch shows you never get sick of.

Thanks to the '90s and early 2000s trend resurgence, the Carrie Bradshaw look has made its way back into the fashion spotlight. When we think of Sex and the City style, Manolo Blahniks, tulle skirts, floral brooches, and Carrie's iconic gold nameplate necklace come to mind. Though after combing the show’s wardrobe archives, the one category that stands out as most relevant today is Carrie’s accessories. From slip-on heels to armpit shoulder bags and statement belts, these outfit accoutrements stole the show.

The gold nameplate necklace was Carrie's signature, literally. In today's day and age, we could see her wearing the charm name necklace to still make her mark but in a more modern way.

Sleek Aviators

Carrie was the queen of aviators. It was her go-to sunglasses silhouette while shopping in the city or adventuring out to the country with Aiden. These Loewe multitextured sunnies would be her everyday wear.

A Silky Scarf

Each season, Carrie was seen in some sort of silky scarf as a headband, hair bandana, belt, or even top. She was the OG girl in showing us how to wear this accessory several ways.

Whether she was running out for late-night takeout or having a night on the town with the girls, Carrie was constantly seen in a slip-on high heel. Today, we think she'd be a fan of our current favorite shoe brand, By Far.

She loved to mix studs, jewels, and silks, and this Cult Gaia beaded top-handle bag would've fit right in to her closet of endless of designer accessories.

A Studded Belt

Carrie wore belts over dresses, pants, and even bare skin. She loved to accessorize her waist and would've been obsessed with B-Low The Belt's statement-making styles.

Promotional duties for films often require actresses to have multiple outfit changes in a day as they dart from premieres to photo-calls to interviews. Jennifer Lawrence is currently doing the press rounds for her new release Dark Phoenix, and yesterday she wore three outfits that can only be described as phenomenal.

Jennifer Lawrence often makes sexy choices for the red carpet, leaning on slinky silhouettes and plunging necklines. To the premiere last night, she wore a black-sleeved Dior gown with a full skirt, belt at the waist and wide sleeves, but the demure dress was spiced up with an open neckline down to her belly button. For the after-party, she wore a champagne-coloured sequin slip dress with an open back and '90s spaghetti straps so thin they look like floss.

But the outfit that really got our attention was her white cropped T-shirt that she wore with a chili-red leather midi skirt with a slight pleat. She paired it with a number of chain necklaces, her trusty circular Ray-Bans and a pair of ankle strap leather black sandals.

Dior just released its latest buzzy bag, the 30 Montaigne—named for the house’s flagship address in Paris. Designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and first spotted on the Dior pre-fall 19 collection, the box bag is inspired by silhouettes from the 1960s and adorned with a shoulder strap and the brand’s signature CD clasp on the front. There are five shades in calfskin leather as well as two canvas logo versions.

Today, Dior rolled out the bag by debuting a new campaign shot with Jennifer Lawrence as well as a robust influencer campaign. We’re anticipating that Dior’s 30 Montaigne will be one the most in-demand It bags for the summer months ahead.
