The celebrity baby boom continues. Following recent announcements from Mandy Moore and Ashley Tisdale, Chiara Ferragni is the latest to reveal her pregnancy on Instagram. Ferragni shared the news with her 21 million followers with a sweet photo of her son, Leo, holding up an ultrasound print. Of course, it quickly went viral and racked up nearly 4 million likes in less than 24 hours.

The next day, Ferragni shared another photo of her firstborn, but this time she and her husband Fedez joined in. Next, the 4 fall trends this Parisian mom borrows from her influencer daughters.

While most of us will toil away in coach seats on budget airlines, I was curious to find out what women wear when they're traveling on the best luxurious airlines in the world. My theory: When your airline ticket costs as much as two months' rent, you might be tempted to wear something a bit more polished than you normally would. To test my theory, I tapped stewardesses for their insights and also scoured Instagram to see what It girls wear.

I asked a former Singapore Airlines stewardess named Becky about the outfits she observed on the top-of-the-line airline. "Passengers are very travel-savvy nowadays, so they know how to dress comfortably while still looking stylish," Becky told me. "They don't always dress lavishly (even in first or business class), but they exude class through expensive, elegant accessories like scarves, handbags, etc."

Amy, another former Singapore Airline stewardess, agreed that designer bags are extremely common. "Singapore Airlines provides dust bags in business and first class because many passengers carry designer bags," Amy told me.

Naturally, passengers' style can vary on different types of flights. "Passengers going to fashion cities like Seoul or Paris always look Instagram-ready, even if it means being in full makeup for seven to 13 hours in flight," Becky told me. As for what passengers don't wear on the world's fanciest airlines, Becky offered her thoughts: "Generally, I think people are still sensible when dressing for travel—things like miniskirts, stilettos, or sheer tops are less common compared to staples like jeans, pullovers, and sneakers."

Emirates

Based in Dubai, Emirates routinely wins awards for being the best long-haul airline, having the best in-flight entertainment and staff, and other accolades. So what does one wear on the 15-hour flight from Los Angeles to Dubai? Well, Olivia Culpo made the journey on Emirates wearing an outfit that struck the perfect balance of comfortable, practical, and chic: She wore an Alexander Wang sweatsuit, Stella McCartney platform sneakers, and a Saint Laurent embossed bag.

Qantas

Australian model Shanina Shaik traveled back to her home country on Aussie airline Qantas, which also nabs best-in-travel awards on the regular. For her trip to Melbourne, Shaik wore a cute red-and-white sweatsuit by I Am Gia. I also own one of the brand's hoodies and can attest to the fact that it's absurdly soft and comfortable enough for a long-haul flight.

Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines was named the world's best airline in 2018, so you know it attracts the most discerning travelers. Camila Coelho shared a photo of herself in the airline's roomy seats wearing a fur-trimmed leather jacket, leggings, sneakers, and every Instagram girl's ultimate accessory: a logo Dior tote.

Qatar Airways

Based in Doha, Qatar Airways has made fans out of It girls like Chiara Ferragni, Hanna Stefansson, and others. The airline has a slew of awards under its belt, including best first class lounge, best business class seats, and more. For her trip from Qatar to Italy, Ferragni wore Gucci's instantly recognizable sweatpants with a white tee, and Stefansson brought along her color-block Boyy bag.

Rumi Neely 

Rumi Neely is one of our favourite original fashion bloggers. After launching Fashion Toast in 2008, she gained a large following for her simple style and regular blogging. She then became a fashion week regular and 10 years later, Neely now has her own label, Are You Am I and continues to publish work on her website. 

Caroline Issa 

Originally, Caroline Issa worked as an editor and consultant before becoming a stakeholder and later, fashion editor of TANK magazine. After stepping into the fashion world, Issa was photographed by every emerging street style blogger in 2012. Fast forward to 2018, and Issa still works at TANK magazine, but also has her own fashion line at Nordstrom, has modelled for and collaborated with J.Crew, and created an app that allows users to unlock digital content by scanning physical magazine pages. 

Eva Chen 

Eva Chen has been in the fashion industry for a long time. After working at Lucky magazine, Elle magazine and Teen Vogue, she became Instagram's very first Head of Fashion Partnerships in 2015. She's been at fashion week's around the world for over a decade and no one can deny the impact she's had on how the fashion industry operates today. 

Giovanna Battaglia

Giovanna Battaglia got her start styling with Anna Dello Russo at L'Umo Vogue in Italy before moving to New York City in 2011. After scoring a job at W magazine, Battaglia caught the eye of Scott Schuman's The Satorialist. She was one of the first faces to appear on the website. Today, the fashion powerhouse is still constantly appearing in street style galleries (with her old boss Dello Russo close by) and released her first book, Gio-Graphy: Serious Fun in the Wild World of Fashion in 2017. 

Chiara Ferragni

Chiara Ferragni launched her fashion blog, The Blonde Salad, in 2009 and she instantly gained recognition for her maximalist looks. Soon, she was all over the fashion week circut and was featured on The Satorialist and other street style blogs as they began to grow in the late 2010's. In 2016, The Blonde Salad was transformed into an eCommerce website with its own line of clothing and accessories and a year later, Ferragni was named the most powerful influencer in the world by Forbes. 

Nicole Warne 

Australian Nicole Warne launched her website and vintage e-shop Gary Pepper Vintage in 2009 and after tackling two magazine internships, decided to work on her vintage store full-time. Little did she know that it would be the best business decision she'd ever make. The websites' popularity skyrocketed and after re-branding to Gary Pepper Girl, in 2015 Warne became the first Australian blogger to land a cover of a major fashion magazine. Since then, the influencer has collaborated with Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Cartier and Net-A-Porter on digital strategy, creative direction, brand consultation and social media campaigns whilst also runnning QANTAS' Q Collective digital influencer campaign.

The obsession with the style of women from overseas is really just another "the grass is always greener on the other side" mentality. Americans, Italians, and Parisians—just to name a few—all have a distinct way of dressing, and thanks to social media and the urgency of the internet, we are able to access their style at a moment's notice. But one thing we typically don't discuss as frequently is the difference between lingerie trends as they appear from country to country (and naturally so, as lingerie is traditionally more of a private matter).

On a recent trip to Verona, Italy, with the world-renowned lingerie brand Intimissimi, I had the opportunity to witness Italian lingerie trends firsthand. Considering the fact that there appears to be an Intimissimi store around every corner in Italy, I found myself instinctually taking note of styles that were trending throughout the country. However, as a true American, there were only a handful of lingerie trends I could spot with my naked eye, which is why I turned to an expert on the matter—Chiara Ferragni. In my interview with the beloved Italian It girl, Ferragni explained the main difference between Italian and American lingerie.

"I think Italians wear simpler kinds of colors. They are more into the traditional kind of lingerie while Americans maybe want to have something more special for different occasions. For myself [as far as trends go], I say never say never, because sometimes I find myself saying, Oh, that’s something that doesn't do it for me, and then months later, I find myself fully embracing the trend," she explained.

After doing a deeper dive into the lingerie styles Americans typically wear, versus women from other countries, I started to understand what she meant. In America, the concept of "lingerie" often gets misconstrued as something you only wear for special occasions or when you want to feel exceptional. But in other parts of the world, lingerie truly is an everyday essential and an inherent part of women's wardrobes. This ends up translating into Americans buying pieces that feel extraordinary versus wearable. To further explain what Ferragni was getting at, we shopped out a handful of lingerie trends available at Intimissimi.

Calling Chiara Ferragni's wardrobe enviable is indeed an understatement, and it's certainly one of the many reasons she has 15 million Instagram followers. Earlier this week, Ferragni confirmed to her 14 million Instagram followers that she'd be wearing a custom Dior couture wedding gown designed by Italian Creative Director Maria Grazia for the nuptials, and we have a hunch that the weekend (wedding day included) will be filled with more than a few outfit changes. For the rehearsal dinner, she's wearing a custom Prada minidress that was essentially made for KiraKira. She also just announced that her bridesmaids would be wearing custom Alberta Ferretti for the wedding. Additionally, as if Ferragni weren't having a busy enough time already, she announced this week that she started filming a documentary about her life the day before her wedding festivities started. Impressive, even for the most famous influencer on the planet.

While many celebrity weddings are shrouded in secrecy, Ferragni, Fedez, and their baby, Leo, live their lives on Instagram, so there is and will be plenty of wedding content for the world to see, not to mention the fact that they will have a slew of Insta-famous friends in attendance. She later swapped the full skirt out for a shorter one. Chiara Ferragni is heading down the aisle in September, but first thing's first: She's brought 13 of her closest friends to Ibiza for an epic bachelorette party this weekend. Guests include her sister Valentina and Clique's own Rachel Zeilic. Of course, there have already been plenty of Instagram opportunities in the first day on Friday—including a group photo with matching bomber jackets.

During the cooler months, it's easy for our outfits to get stale. After all, how many variations of a jeans-and-jumper look can there be? Turns out, it's easy to have fun with winter dressing if you broaden your horizons a little.

To inspire you to branch out, we've been looking at the street style at Milan Men's Fashion Week. Yes, it's summer over in the Northern Hemisphere, but the styling is surprisingly similar to what we would wear here in Australia during winter. Unless you reside in an especially chilly part of the country, these Italian street style outfits translate really easily to our climate. Let's be honest, not many people in our eternally-sunburnt country often wear more than two layers, and we're still seeing beach-worthy weather in June, so rid yourself of the idea that winter style is all about fur coats and gum boots and create an amazing look based on one of these outfits below.

Originally published on March 20: Congratulations are in order: Chiara Ferragni and fiancé Fedez welcomed their new baby yesterday. Ferragni announced the news on Instagram, revealing that their son, named Leoncino, was born on March 19 at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles. She shared a sweet image of the new family of three, and they couldn't be cuter.

Ferragni first announced her pregnancy back in October—again on Instagram, of course—and has definitely not slowed down in the last few months. When Chiara Ferragni announced her pregnancy in October, we knew she'd treat us to fresh takes on maternity style. Back in May, the Italian rapper proposed to The Blonde Salad blogger during his concert and amid celebrations for her 30th birthday. Now there’s even more to celebrate as Chiara is five months pregnant. “We can’t wait to meet baby raviolo,” Chiara captioned her photo. “Life is beautiful.”

Before the Dior Spring 2018 show in Paris, we noticed that everyone's looks had one similar common thread, and when we gave it some thought, realised it must have been intentional. The fashion crowd all wore full skirts in a range of sheer tulle, coloured leather, paisley print, feathers, and pleats.

We love working velvet into our ensembles for every possible occasion, but come summertime, it proves tricky. Hot, sticky summer months aren't very conducive to wearing our favourite velvet pieces (at least not comfortably). For anyone who’s highly tuned in to the fashion world—its ins, outs, and occasional subtweets—you’re probably already well versed on the recent tensions between publications and bloggers. And particularly, during this fashion month.

But for us, a publication that loves the unique and individual perspectives bloggers bring to the table, there’s a bigger conversation that comes to mind: What is the true role of bloggers in the fashion industry today? Thankfully that’s exactly the topic that so many of our favorite personalities have weighed in on this past week.

In the most practical terms, bloggers’ work “provides content for websites … provides a large platform for brands to display their most recent collections,” Danielle Bernstein posted on Instagram. However, in a larger sense, “We’re the face of our own brands,” Aimee Song put it simply, echoing a sentiment that seems to be felt across her peers. “We had to pave our own way for the opportunities to do something we love and inspire people along the way.”

Cara Santana made a case for blogger entrepreneurship, as well, when she said that it’s women like herself who’ve “created a voice for themselves, who have revitalized an industry, who have integrated themselves as a necessity to a world that craves innovation, and to young female entrepreneurs who took what they loved and created a space for themselves and a business that didn’t exist.” And we agree.

When we look at the last few years alone, we’ve seen bloggers land on the cover of major international magazines (Chiara Ferragni, Nicole Warne), create full-fledged fashion lines (Rumi Neely's Are You Am I), and even become a part of their own Harvard Business School case study (Ferragni again, but hey, it deserves a mention). There are also self-made industry experts like Susanna Lau, who’s known for her thoughtful, highly intelligent, quirky view on the industry within her personal blog and also as an editor, and a slew more who've earned major success through their hustle—both main and side.

[Bloggers' work] provides a large platform for brands to display their most recent collections. 

Of course, this fashion month is far from the first time so many bloggers have spoken out about their place within the fashion industry. In fact, the question’s come up often. As one Fashionista article pointed out this week, current major street style photographers, such as Scott Schuman and Phil Oh, were once considered bloggers as well. And yet today their work is recognized as a fully realized business, and their presence has become a staple of every fashion month event. So why is the same regard not given to so many fashion bloggers who’ve earned their industry cred and created an equally successful business out of their personal brands?

There’s not necessarily a straightforward answer or a pretty Gucci bow we can tie around this conversation. But rather, we’ll say this: Come this time next fashion month, we're looking forward to hearing more about how bloggers bring value to the industry in which they were once outsiders, and less about why they’re attending to begin with.

Admittedly, we did a double take while perusing Instagram today, thanks to Chiara Ferragni's post from her hotel room in New York. On the casual-to-dressy spectrum, Super Bowl parties tend to fall at the furthest, most laid-back end. On one hand, that’s great—our feet need a rest from heels every once in a while! On the other hand, mastering the casual-cool-girl vibe can be a balancing act. It's no secret that the world's most successful fashion bloggers have it really good: They travel the world on other people's dimes, get unbelievable designer swag for free, constantly have people lavish them with gifts, and generally get enough free publicity to rival the likes of Kim Kardashian West. But according to a report from today's WWD, that's not all they get: The most successful bloggers have incomes that soar into the million-dollar range annually.

Yes, you read that right: Some bloggers make more than $1 million a year. According to WWD, these folks generate income from "affiliate sales, brand collaborations, their own collections, and appearance fees." Yowza.

So exactly who are the bloggers raking in the truly big bucks? Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad, 28, has around 6.7 million followers on Instagram, 1.2 million Facebook subscribers, and 286,000 Twitter followers. She makes a lot of her money through her shoe line, Chiara Ferragni Collection, which brought in $10 million dollars last year. Through a relationship with Nordstrom, Rachel Parcell of Pink Peonies recently drove in $1 million to Nordstrom.com, and Kristina Bazaan apparently just set a new record in the blogger world, scoring a seven-figure contract with L'Oréal in October.

Others belonging (or soon to belong) to the millionaires club include Song of Style's Aimee Song, Man Repeller's Leandra Medine, and Into the Gloss's Emily Weiss. Surprisingly not on the list: Bryan Boy's 35-year-old Bryan Grey-Yambao, who is one of the few bloggers who actually spoke openly to WWD about his income.

"$100,000 is not enough," Grey-Yambao said. "For a young, upstart blogger, $100,000 may seem like a lot of money. [But] as a business, a legit business, $100,000 won't really bring you that far. You have a lot of expenses."
