As soon as the warm weather hits, linen trousers are the first thing I bring to the front of my wardrobe. My great summer dresses are primed for those prettier moments, but when I want to feel comfortable, relaxed and still put-together, linen trousers are the first port of call.

Hunting down the best linen trousers has become a personal endeavour this summer. I've put some of the best non-see-through white pairs to the test, and now I'm focused on the best wide-leg styles. Already, one pair is making a case to claim the title, and that's Reformation's Fernando Linen Wide Leg Pant (£188).

Reformation is a brand that consistently impresses me, and during the summer months, I often find myself drawn to its linen pieces. The Olina Linen Pant was my first introduction to the brand's breezy linen, and after being impressed by the fabric and shape, I naturally started here on my hunt for a great pair of wide-leg linen trousers.

The high temperatures and busy days of summer call for loose silhouettes and lightweight fabrics, and comfort becomes key. Luckily for us, these trousers hit every note. The silhouette is relaxed and loose with an elasticated waistband for added ease, and the pull-on design is ideal for early mornings when time is of the essence, or as a quick cover-up when moving from poolside to lunch table. Reformation is all about considered design details, and these trousers have a wide turn-up hem that looks subtle with the neutral colourway, but bolder on the patterned styles (note the horizontal stripes that finish the striped pair I tried below).

Better still, Reformation's best pieces come in both extended sizes and petite lengths, so you can find the ideal fit. For strolls through European cities, simply add your favourite basic T-shirt and trainers, or opt for a romantic blouse and sandals for picnics in the park. Last weekend, I paired mine with a loose linen shirt and flip-flops for an al fresco lunch at my local café. For reference, I took my normal size (medium) and the regular length in the trousers.

Like 290 million other people, I follow Kendall Jenner on Instagram. I'm also a beauty editor who considers herself a fragrance connoisseur. So, you can imagine my surprise when I opened Instagram one day to find Jenner posting about a fragrance I'd never tested. 

In the post, she's holding a perfume bottle attached to a keychain, staring moodily into the camera. The caption reads, "We liked each other from the start." My interest was instantly piqued, so I did a little research. It turns out the fragrance is part of a well-known designer accessory brand, which explains why the perfume had a keychain; each bottle doubles as a bag charm. That's cool, but like I said, I'm a beauty editor, so I was more interested in the scent itself. After all, I always want to know what celebrities smell like, and I had the chance to discover that about Jenner. Here it is, the Jenner-approved fragrance I'm obsessed with. It's from the brand BY FAR, which is primarily known for its trendy shoes and bags. But, in my opinion, it deserves more credit for its fragrances. They're seriously good. (Don't just take my word for it. Who What Wear's Associate Beauty Editor, Maya Thomas, is also hooked.)

Daydream of a Bingo Queen is fresh, sweet, and slightly herby. It's all thanks to a top note of four-leaf clover accord, a heart note of neroli, and a base note of ambrette. There are also pink peppercorns and orange blossom petals. Together, these notes combine to create something crisp yet cozy. I think the four-leaf clover and ambrette notes are mainly responsible. The former is bright and grassy, and the latter is grounding and warming. 

Aside from the scent and the fact that it doubles as a cool bag charm keychain, there's one thing that sets this fragrance apart from all the rest. It's designed to be refilled, so you never have to repurchase the bottle (ugh, I love a sustainable beauty product). 

The brand sells 3.3 fluid-ounce refills of each fragrance, including the one that Jenner and I love. Each refill has a self-dispensing top that easily refills the bottle without spilling or splashing. Simply insert the mini perfume bottle into the base of the charm, swivel the refill bottle into the neck, allow it to fill until it comes to an automatic stop, and twist to release. Snap the cap back on the charm, and you're good to go. It's brilliant. 

The best part is that each fragrance and charm set is customizable. On the brand's website, you can combine any fragrance with any color charm. Cool, right? They say fairytales can leave a lasting impression on kids. For me, it was Cinderella. Here was this poor girl who hustled away. Her only friends the literal rodents in her house. I'm a Libra, so naturally, I am full of contradictions. I hate when people are late but I'm constantly running behind. I always want to pick the restaurant but can't for the life of me come up with one once I'm given the chance. The list goes on and on. But perhaps my most contradictory quality is that I live in New York City, where walking is paramount to getting practically anywhere, and yet, I wear heels 24/7.

Because 99% of the time, I refuse to wear flats, I've had to withstand a lot of trial and error when it comes to finding heels that look good and won't warrant a cab ride home. Open Edit, Nordstrom's in-house fashion label, has a knack for creating trendy, affordable designs that look and feel great on. And its footwear is no different than its apparel offering. I put the brand's beloved Sheena sandal to the test a few months back by walking over 17,000 steps in them and they more than passed.

If you've been sleeping on Reformation's footwear thus far in your shopping career in favor of its pretty linen and silk dresses, this is your sign to wake up. Comfortable, stylish, and well-priced, the brand's heels (and more) are perfect for anyone who likes simple yet elegant shoes that will go with just about anything.

5. Jimmy Choo

Though Jimmy Choo is most often celebrated for its aesthetic appeal (and for good reason—every pair is stunning), it's important to also remember the craftsmanship involved in making every last pair the brand makes. And when a shoe is really well-made, comfort is always taken into account.

Schutz is known for making shoes that look way more expensive than they are, with many of its pairs costing until $150. Even better, that price cap hasn't caused the brand to sacrifice comfort or craftsmanship, with many reviewers on Amazon noting how comfortable and walkable their Schutz heels are.

11. Amina Muaddi

Is there any shoe brand more buzzy right now than Amina Muaddi? I'd argue not by a landslide. Not only is the designer leading the charge when it comes to PVC, glass, and Barbie heels, she's also frequently making it onto fashion's most influential dresses, from Rihanna to Hailey Bieber. It doesn't hurt her case either that between the brand's wedge pumps and shapely heels, every major style is surprisingly comfortable.

For a brand that's main focus is ready-to-wear, Sarah Staudinger's Los Angeles-based brand Staud makes a fantastic shoe (and handbag). Comfortable and accessible, yet still stylish, Staud's heels more than deserve a spot in your footwear rotation.

In other words, the duo knows how to create a beautifully-crafted shoe, and even better, one that's sustainable and moderately priced.

Aquazzura founder Edgardo Osorio designs footwear for the modern woman, which inherently means that comfort is a huge factor in the design process. That said, the brand's attention to comfort doesn't one bit take away from its selection's style factor. Offering up both trendy and classic footwear options, there's a little something for every shopper at the Italian brand.

Apart from maybe colorful blanket scarves and faux-leather blazers, there's no fashion item more frequently spotted on my TikTok feed than platform Dr. Martens—specifically the brand's Jadon boots, which have been worn by Gen Z stars like Olivia Rodrigo, Addison Rae, and Emma Chamberlain. If you're on the app, you've almost certainly seen them, but I'll paint a picture anyway. They're big and have a hefty platform sole that lifts the wearer up roughly three inches into the air, and they feature the shoe brand's signature lace-up closure. In other words, they're ridiculously cool—an obvious choice for Gen Z's favorite shoes. 

The style's most recent wearer, though, is proving that the Jadon isn't just a go-to for Gen Zers. This weekend, Megan Fox was spotted in Las Vegas with fiancé Machine Gun Kelly wearing a pair of her own that was tied up with gold laces that matched her BY FAR mini bag. (Nice.) There for the 2022 NHL All-Star Game, Fox wore the combo with camel-colored pants, a white tank top, and a black coat.

Only one word can describe how digital creator and model Amy Lefévre feels about her wardrobe: obsessed.

Lefévre takes us through her dreamy temporary closet in Austin, Texas, that is packed with seasonally appropriate clothing and a few cold-weather pieces that Lefévre can't part with despite the Texas heat. 

Lefévre's closet takes up two rooms in her home. Her first closet houses the majority of her accessories and shoes, including more than one bag from BY FAR.

"Everybody who knows me knows that I am obsessed—obsessed—with BY FAR," she says. 

Lefévre also shows us a vintage Louis Vuitton bag that will never go out of style. She got it from her mom, who purchased it when she lived in Paris years ago.

Despite the warm weather, Lefévre brought her epic jacket collection to Texas, including her favorite leather jacket from the local Austin brand Understated.

"They have such amazing leather," she says

Another one of her favorites is a bold suede jacket from The Arrivals: "Texas is like 100°, but I'm just like, 'Yup, I'll still pop you on.'"

In terms of shoes, when Lefévre finds a style that she likes, she gets it in multiple colors, like a strappy sandal silhouette from Song of Style that she owns in blue and cream.

While Lefévre's collection of heels is pretty impressive, her favorite shoes in her closet might be her sneakers, including a pair of New Balance 530s that she wears all of the time. 

"I'm kind of a tomboy, so I'm obsessed with sneakers," she adds.

Given Lefévre's home in Austin is temporary, she took advantage of the space and transformed a guest bedroom into a second wardrobe.

"I come from New York, where there are not big closets, so I have to take advantage of this," she says.

Lefévre might be tie-dye's number one fan, as she owns multiple tie-dye sweaters from brands such as Bandier and Campbell and Kramer. 

Lefévre loves a good flowy dress, including a pink pastel dress from LoveShackFancy and a silk slip dress from Are You Am I. 

"They're flowy and so perfect for 100-degree weather," she says.

The standout piece in Lefévre's current wardrobe collection is a white, cloud-like Lirika Matoshi dress that is meant to be worn on a red carpet.

"If I ever get invited to a gala, best believe I'll be wearing this," she adds.

When sale season rolls around, it can be tempting to treat yourself to a new dress here or a fresh knit there, all with the added benefit of a discount. But the way we approach sale shopping is the same way we approach regular shopping. We never advise spending needlessly or without a strategy. While there are rare sale-shopping unicorns out there—pieces so amazing that you can justify buying them on a whim—we’ve found that if the item (be it a bag, coat, or pair of shoes) didn’t pique our interest when it was full-price, then we probably shouldn’t buy it just because it’s been reduced.

Next, three very specific colors trending at H&M, Madewell, and Mango right now. 

For some people, a simple spring cleaning session would suffice when it comes to organizing their house and getting rid of old stuff. But for Elle UK fashion writer and vintage seller Daisy Murray, a much more comprehensive closet purge was in order for her London apartment. On Instagram, she posted about her decision to simplify her wardrobe. "Years of compulsive overbuying and a bizarre need to keep everything—'I want to give it to my daughter!' 17-year-old me screamed while clutching an American Apparel boob tube—left me with about nine Ikea bags worth of clothes to sell, and sell I did," Murray said. 

Intrigued by her commitment to closet purging, I reached out to Murray to get more insight into her decision and learn about the items she deemed worthy of keeping. "With so much of the world in slow-mo, my commute eradicated, social life decimated, and spare time abundant, I felt this was the perfect time for my final push to achieve wardrobe clarity," Murray told Who What Wear. "I began this 'journey' (cheesy, but true) three years ago when my parents cleared out my wardrobe. They refused to act as a storage facility any longer (rude), and I was confronted with the real scale of my shopping habit."

Murray also explained how she was able to avoid throwing away a single item, despite being "ashamed" of the huge volume of clothes she had amassed. Murray credits her love of vintage, which tends to retain its resale value, as well as her penchant for buying classic pieces. "So most of my clothes were either worth saving, gifting, or selling at a reasonable price," she said on Instagram. 

Murray's downsizing left her with her dream closet "that feels like a concept store stocked entirely for me," she told Who What Wear. Along with a single bag of sentimental pieces like her prom dress, Murray kept key items that she wears over and over. Madeline Brewer has a type, and I’m not referring to her dating proclivities. Take a look at her acting résumé and you’ll see a common theme: women—women-led stories and women-led crews. Brewer has been part of some pretty fantastic female ensembles in her career, and when I ask if this is an intentional move or simply a lucky circumstance, she confirms it’s both. Luck may have played a part when she landed her breakout role in the award-winning Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, but surrounding herself with some of the most talented women in the industry—see also The Handmaid’s Tale (another award season juggernaut) and this month’s Hustlers—is not just a smart business move. It’s a project-picking philosophy we can get behind. 

Brewer is a girl’s girl through and through, so there’s no one better to spend an afternoon sipping tea and playing dress-up with. It might not be time to break out the layers just yet, but this season’s offering of luxurious outerwear is seriously tempting, which is why we enlisted Brewer to test-drive some of our favorite styles. From unexpected silhouettes to head-turning prints, these coats, like Brewer, are primed for their close-up. 

We shot some of the season’s coolest coats for our shoot. What are your outerwear essentials come fall?

I am either in warm Los Angeles or freezing cold Toronto, so I’m typically either wearing a long-sleeve shirt or full gown coat. But that being said, I did see some really gorgeous coats during our shoot, so that was nice. I like blazers, like a good wool blazer. Khaite has some gorgeous blazers I love. I wear a lot of my boyfriend’s coats. I like a good bomber jacket, and I love a cozy cable-knit. Oh, and I’m obsessed with wool sweaters. Truly, like a big, comfy high-turtleneck wool sweater is the only thing that brings me peace in the winter months. That’s my vibe. 

We’re so excited for Hustlers! Do you remember the moment you thought I have to be a part of this project?

It was right after I talked to Lorene Scafaria, the director. We talked on the phone about a couple of different roles and about this whole world and the time period and the kind of story she was trying to tell. I was like I have to be a part of this; this sounds so incredible. No hate on any of the remakes that are coming out and all of the Marvel big-budget stuff, but this is a fully original thing. This is a real thing that happened and then was adapted into an original movie. It’s produced by women, starring women, directed by a woman, written by a woman, based on a story by a woman. It’s all the stuff that I love. 

Can you tell us a little about your character, Dawn?

Dawn is just a blast and a half. First of all, I’m with Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu, whose characters are both impeccably dressed, hair and makeup done. They have on mink and chinchilla coats, and then Dawn has a knock-off purse, ratty faux fur, and clumpy mascara, just looking very ridiculous. I play a lot of heavier, very dramatic and emotional roles, and Lorene gave me the opportunity to play something that was really fun and to improvise and just kind of roll with it. 

The cast is no joke. What stood out to you most while working with these amazing women?

I mostly interacted with Jen and Constance, so I was nervous out of my mind. The very first scene that I filmed—because there really was no easing into it—the first scene, the day I meet them, is a scene where I’m on a ton of drugs and I’m wearing a wire and talking to the police. I was incredibly nervous and twitchy, but it actually worked because I was so nervous to the point that I was literally shaking. I think eventually Jennifer was like, "Okay, we need to do something,” and she just grabbed my hand and said, "You are doing amazing. It’s all good, you totally got this down, don’t worry about it,” and she just calmed me down. I was just coming off doing Handmaid’s, so I was in that whole world, and this was the complete opposite. It could not be more different. It was a total whirlwind, but it was really nice to have both of them be so supportive.

You have been part of some really incredible female ensembles. Is this something you look for when picking projects?

It’s incredibly important to me. Honestly, I just got really lucky. With Orange Is the New Black, like any other actor, I went to an audition and was so nervous, and for some reason, Jenji Kohan thought I looked like I could do it. They cast me, and that was my introduction to working on camera. I was surrounded by women—women writers, women producers, women directors, a female boom operator, a female DP, just all this incredible stuff. When I went away from that and did stuff starring men and led by men and produced by men, it just wasn’t as supportive and artistically fulfilling. Not that it can’t be. I’ve been in situations where it’s been incredibly artistically fulfilling, but it’s best when the men in power listen to women writing stories about women. It’s the stuff that attracts me. I am a woman. I am a girl’s girl. I am an artist, and being around other women who are artists is like finding your soul mate. It’s so incredible, so rewarding, and so inspiring. It’s really easy to get worn out in this industry; there is a lot of noise. If you are not working with people who inspire you, you will get burnt out so quickly. So that’s the stuff I look for because it’s what keeps me coming back.

Season three of The Handmaid’s Tale just ended. What do you hope to see going into the next chapter?

I’m very interested in Janine’s backstory; I’d really love to see it. I want to see the resistance. I want to see more of Rita because I always want to see more of Rita. When she kisses the ground in Canada, I lost my ability to function as a human. But I do want to see Janine’s backstory. In season three, we find out Janine’s last name is Lindo, and I was a mess for days. Just knowing her last name… It’s another piece of her. I feel like I’m always uncovering pieces of her as the seasons go on, and learning more about her is the gift that keeps on giving. I just want to learn more. She is a really special girl. 

You are working with stylist Emma Jade Morrison, who is the model whisperer. What do you like about her eye for fashion?

I mean, she worked at Vogue for like six years, she’s a Brooklynite, she’s young, she’s a hustler, she’s hungry. I’m not going to be like, Oh, she’s a modern woman, but she knows what she wants, she goes for it, and she’s just smart as hell. I admire her so much. I can say the most obscure, weird, roundabout reference of what I want to look like, and she’s like "Yep, totally get it, got the vibe, let’s get it done.” It’s a little bit like she knows what I’m saying without me having to say it. But she also takes an interest in getting the look and the feel and the vibe that I want and that I’m comfortable with without being like, "Oh, look what a great stylist I am.” Or she’ll say, "Listen, I know you might not be 100% comfortable with this, but I want you to trust me,” and every time I’ve trusted her it’s been the right thing. She’s been Emily Ratajkowski’s stylist for a long time, and the first dress she put me in was this Proenza Schouler dress that had a bare midriff so my abdominal area was showing. I was like, "Listen, we all don’t have the abs of EmRata,” and she was like, "Trust me, you are going to look amazing. Nobody has the abs of EmRata; that is just how she is.” She doesn’t let all of my bullshit get in the way, because fashion can also be a very insecure thing where you think, Oh no, I can’t pull that off. I couldn’t do that. And she’ll say, "Yes, you absolutely can. Look at yourself—you look amazing.” Style stuff aside, as a human being, she is just a great person to have in your life.

You’ve been wearing some really cool designers like Khaite, Monse, and Jacquemus for recent press appearances. Is that Emma, you, or both of you?

It’s totally what works for us and what works for the event. I mean she absolutely introduced me to Monse. Jacquemus to me was the little purse designer, but she’s definitely given me a lot more of a critical eye for what I think looks good and works, and she has opened me up to a lot more.

What has been your favorite look you’ve worn for a red carpet so far? 

I mean I really really loved that Proenza Schouler dress. 

Let’s talk about your off-duty style. What are the staples in your wardrobe?

Honestly, I love my Levi’s. I think they are 501s and I cut the button off them. I’m not going to say that I’m a sneakerhead, because I’m not, but all I wear are sneakers. 

Do you have a favorite sneaker brand?

I have three pairs of Adidas that I love, and I love Vans. I have these Pyer Moss for Reebok kicks that are truly… Hearing Kerby Jean-Raymond’s story about the stuff he is designing and why he is designing it and that the line is named after his father, it’s just so moving. He is, to me, the best part of fashion. People think of fashion as this upper-echelon elitist world, and it’s totally not. Kerby totally embodies that to me. He’s like, "Here’s the email if you want to get on the list for my third collection runway show. Just email me and I’ll put you on the list.” He put that on his Twitter! That to me is so accessible, and that’s what it should be because fashion is not just for one kind of person. It’s self-expression, it’s wearable art, and to me, Kerby embodies that with Pyer Moss. So I bought his shoes even though I am not good at wearing them. I don’t know what to wear them with, but I just want to rock them.

Leave it to the Olsens to flip (quite literally) the concept on its head, transforming the humble sandal style into luxurious shoes tastemakers across the globe wear on repeat. These days, it's nearly impossible to open up Instagram without these shoes showing up somewhere. With the sudden shift to comfortable fashion during the pandemic, it makes sense that such an easy, low-key sandal would dominant the shoe game.

Emme Parsons Tobias Sandals

Should you need a sign that '90s-inspired fashion is here to stay—at least for now—look no further than minimal strappy sandals. Emme Parsons's Tobias sandals are an ode to the decade and feature thin, floss-like straps that create a flattering shape on the foot. These sandals have especially been a hit with French girls that favor minimalism.

Amina Muaddi Gilda Sandals

If you don't know by now, Amina Muaddi is the name to know for designer shoes. The young shoe designer's signature is exquisite, towering stilettos with a unique flared-out heel. They're the type of shoes that instantly make you stop in your tracks because they're so glamourous, and the Crystal-Embellished Gilda Sandals are no different. With everyone emerging from their pandemic hibernation, expect to see revenge sandals like these in increasing numbers.

The Row Constance Slingbacks

We're taking a detour from the world of elevated stilettos for another entry from The Row. As we touched on before, comfort has reigned king when it comes to fashion, so it shouldn't surprise you that the brand's simple flat sandals are another winner among the fashion set. Despite their hefty price tag, the minimal design means it's easy to get a lot of wear out of these.

Marni Crossover Slingback Sandals

A true fashion-girl brand, Marni is one of those underrated names that really bring it with the eccentric designs. These crossover sandals just might make you never want to walk barefoot again. Light as a cloud on the foot and super sophisticated, they're the elevated way to do "gorpy" sandals. Should black not thrill you, they're also available in a seemingly unlimited number of colorways.

BY FAR Bibi Leather Sandals

No wonder BY FAR's Bibi heels are in the mix here: The cute bow straps hits on the thong-sandal trend, the low heel makes them exceedingly comfortable (and walkable), and they're from everyone's favorite It brand.

Simon Miller Platform Flip-Flops

Only expert-level heel wearers should apply. These three-inch platforms are serious business, but they're definitely a glorious sight for the eyes. These citrine-colored wonders come from none other than fashion-girl favorite Simon Miller and hit that dialed-up California-girl aesthetic to a T. They're not sandals you can ever forget, which is probably why they have won the hearts of so many fashion people.

A.W.A.K.E. Mode Mary Mules

Technically, these are part sandal and part mule, but the London-based label's Mary heels are too popular to ignore. A.W.A.K.E. Mode has been killing it this season with its sandal selection, and this sleek '00s-inspired asymmetrical pair was a hit among trend-loving influencers. 

Bottega Veneta Quilted Sandals

Did you really think you were going to get through a designer-shoe roundup without a Bottega Veneta mention? An update on last year's in-demand square-toe mules, these quilted slides were fully embraced by the fashion world with open arms as soon as they launched. This roundup may be focused on summer sandals, but we have a strong feeling these shoes will long outlive the season.

BY FAR Malene Sandals

Yes, it's another BY FAR inclusion, but hear us out! Other than Bottega Veneta, no other brand has been setting sandal trends quite like BY FAR, so we think a little more praise is in order. The company really outdid itself with its Malene mules, a pair of multi-buckle heels that come in a range of colors and have been flooding our Instagram feeds all season long.

Jacquemus Les Tatanes Lin Flip Flops

You may have noticed a disproportionate number of flip-flops on this list, and quite frankly, that's because they're the silhouette of the season. Although a bit controversial, we've seen so many designer iterations of the thong sandal, including Simon Jacquemus's linen platform version. The thick sole creates the perfect amount of elevation to showcase a pair of baggy jeans.

Kalda Simon Sandals

Here's an unexpected pick from an emerging label we've been keeping tabs on. These vibrant, minimal sandals from Kalda blend the best of both worlds: They're completely on-trend yet foot friendly. Bubblegum pink has also been a major hue this year, so consider us sold.

Elleme Cachecache Block Heel 

Elleme is on the rise, but its collections of shoes and bags have already taken hold on my timeline. We have a soft spot for weird, quirky shoes like these, and it turns out fashion girls do, too. The toe cover puts an interesting spin on the naked sandals that feels unique and worth the splurge.

Chanel CC Strap Sandals

An oldie, but goodie, these Chanel quilted sandals are about as luxurious as one can get when it comes to comfort. It takes after a well-known silhouette, but the quilted leather and famous CC logo definitely set them apart from the pack. While every fashion girl seems to love these, they unsurprisingly get a lot of replay from Parisienne tastemakers in particular.

Tamara Mellon Intuition Sandals

Imagine the perfect neutral summer sandals and you'll get Tamara Mellon's Intuitions heels. The Jimmy Choo founder revamped her new designer collection of shoes and let's just say I can't not see them once I open my IG app. These have the added benefit of a cushioned sole so they won't stress your feet like a traditional heel.

I can think of few things that could do more for a brand—emerging or established—than the approval and endorsement of one Queen B, ruler of the Beyhive and arguably the most famous woman on the planet. And, as someone who is regularly making statements with her thoughtful and intentional fashion choices, she definitely knows what power she holds. That’s why we’re always pleased when Beyoncé decides to use her clout to support an on-the-rise brand that might not even need the exposure but definitely is deserving of it. Especially when you consider the fact that every major fashion house from Louis Vuitton to Saint Laurent to Ralph & Russo would drop anything to work with her, or collaborate with her, at a moment's notice. 

If her viral By Far bag recently caught your attention, you’re not alone, but I’m here to tell you it’s actually just one of many times Mrs. Carter has worn a piece (or entire outfit) from an emerging brand those of us in our fashion bubble love or, in some cases, haven’t even heard of yet. By Far

While the majority of the internet was busy making memes, fashion girls everywhere freaked out when Beyoncé was spotted carrying an Insta-famous By Far bag courtside at the NBA finals. It might sound like no big deal, but for a brand that only launched handbags a year or so ago, it’s major. For those of us who also can’t resist By Far accessories, it was a "celebs, they’re just like us” moment like no other. See a close-up in the second slide below.

Marine Serre

If you’re at all familiar with the young Parisian brand Marine Serre, then you know how easy it is to spot its trademark half-moon print. Cue the Slacks, DMs, and collective chatter among editors when, for another courtside look, Bey opted for a statement-making, head-to-toe bodysuit from the brand. If anyone didn’t know about the cult label before, after this look (and the many photos she understandably couldn’t help but post in the outfit), they must.

EnaGancio & L'Afshar

For an outing with Jay-Z this past February, Beyoncé stepped out in two emerging labels—one of which was still selling through Etsy at the time. The suit by Nigerian designer EnaGancio was just part of her regular efforts to support African designers and paired perfectly with her purple bag by Dubai-based label L’Afshar (which can be seen on slide three of the below Instagram post).

Cult Gaia

While anyone with an Instagram account is probably familiar with Cult Gaia’s longtime handbag hit, the Arc bag (which Beyoncé as also worn in the past), they may not all have known about the brands more recent foray into RTW. Of course, Bey did, as she was spotted in one of the brand’s cut-out dresses back in February. The best part? It’s still in stock for anyone who wants to get the look.

I’d like to think that even if you’re Suki Waterhouse, co-founder of accessories brand Pop & Suki who just so happens to be a famous English model and actress, a Beyoncé sighting in a handbag you designed has to be a pretty big deal. Especially when you consider that the line was only launched less than three years ago.

More recently, Bey was (literally) spotted in a summer-ready polka-dot top from fashion-girl favorite Attico, which she paired with shorts, an of-the-moment anklet, and matching yellow pumps. Despite only launching in 2016, the brand has cemented its status in the fashion world thanks to its (many) trend-setting It pieces. Beyoncé's endorsement only adds to the appeal.

I'm not afraid to admit I'm constantly rotating Sex and the City reruns for love and dating advice, lifelong friendship dynamics, and, of course, major Carrie style inspo. Regardless of the show’s inaccurate depictions of being a single writer living in New York (and buying endless designer shoes), I usually gain something from each episode. It’s one of those go-to Sunday binge-watch shows you never get sick of.

Thanks to the '90s and early 2000s trend resurgence, the Carrie Bradshaw look has made its way back into the fashion spotlight. When we think of Sex and the City style, Manolo Blahniks, tulle skirts, floral brooches, and Carrie's iconic gold nameplate necklace come to mind. Though after combing the show’s wardrobe archives, the one category that stands out as most relevant today is Carrie’s accessories. From slip-on heels to armpit shoulder bags and statement belts, these outfit accoutrements stole the show.

She constantly took risks, didn’t follow any fashion rules, and wore her always-fabulous, out-of-the-box outfits with the most confidence. Channel your inner Bradshaw and shop the accessories ahead that she would wear in 2019.

No one has more shoes than Carrie Bradshaw. The designer-obsessed sex columnist had a weakness for funky statement shoes like these python-printed knee-high boots.

Carrie had a sweet love affair with anything Christian Dior. No one knows how she was able to afford a casual thousand dollar splurge every other week living off of a freelance writer's salary, but we're willing to overlook that while appreciating her fabulous bags.

The gold nameplate necklace was Carrie's signature, literally. In today's day and age, we could see her wearing the charm name necklace to still make her mark but in a more modern way.

Sleek Aviators

Carrie was the queen of aviators. It was her go-to sunglasses silhouette while shopping in the city or adventuring out to the country with Aiden. These Loewe multitextured sunnies would be her everyday wear.

A Silky Scarf

Each season, Carrie was seen in some sort of silky scarf as a headband, hair bandana, belt, or even top. She was the OG girl in showing us how to wear this accessory several ways. 

Slip-On Heels

Whether she was running out for late-night takeout or having a night on the town with the girls, Carrie was constantly seen in a slip-on high heel. Today, we think she'd be a fan of our current favorite shoe brand, By Far.

A Jeweled Mini Bag

She loved to mix studs, jewels, and silks, and this Cult Gaia beaded top-handle bag would've fit right in to her closet of endless of designer accessories.

Carrie wore belts over dresses, pants, and even bare skin. She loved to accessorize her waist and would've been obsessed with B-Low The Belt's statement-making styles.

The latest Beyoncé meme heard 'round the world took off well into last night, bringing with it the return of Becky With the Good Hair. In case you've been living under a social media rock for the last 12 hours, Mrs. Carter was spotted courtside at last night's NBA playoff game, seemingly none too pleased with her seatmate leaning over her to talk to Jay-Z. Twitter's been losing it over Bey's unchecked facial reaction ever since.

But it wasn't Queen Bey's lesson in how to give shade that caught our rapt attention. A closer look past the singer's side-eye to the court had us doing a double take. An all-too-familiar mint-green handbag is seen sitting by Beyoncé's side, one that seems slightly out of place amid the celeb's usual high-end designer fare. By Far's unmistakable Ball Bag has become an Instagram-influencer staple over the past six months. The cult indie brand has had a talent for dreaming up accessories that the social media platform's users have consistently fawned over, and it looks like Beyoncé is no exception.

Ever since the shoe brand introduced handbags to its lineup, By Far has also become a celebrity staple, featured on the arms of Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Kate Hudson, to name a few. The brand's many shoe and handbag styles have all been rampant on Instagram, but the Ball Bag stands a step above. It's the perfect culmination of this year's best trends: croc-embossed print, a top handle, and a pistachio/mint-green finish.

Beyoncé's exact mint-green version of the bag is unfortunately no longer available for purchase, though we're placing bets that By Far will be bringing it back soon. I don't know about you, but the moment the weather starts to heat up, the only thing on my mind is summer vacation plans. It doesn’t help that my entire Instagram feed is currently flooded with chic getaways—and even chicer outfits.

From sunning in St. Barth’s to sipping spicy margaritas in Tulum, fashion girls are already in full vacation mode. And with more getaway looks than I can count in my saved collection right now, my feelings of wanderlust are stronger than ever. Today I’m here to share 20 of the best summer vacation outfits I’ve come across so far this year, plus the key pieces to shop from each look. If the below outfit ideas entice you to book a flight, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, so as cliché as it sounds, I have quintessentially laid-back L.A. style. I wear denim in some form pretty much every day, T-shirts and tanks are my go-tos, and I've been known to sport a vintage band tee on occasion (I told you it would sound cliché). What I'm getting at is that given my "chill" California style, there are some spring 2019 trends that just don't align with my aesthetic—hey, not every trend is for everybody. Whether they're too sporty, sleek, or street, a few just don't do it for me.

There are, however, quite a few spring trends I'm tripping over myself to jump on now that the weather is finally tolerable again (and by that I mean sunny and 70 degrees—I am from L.A., after all). From the barely there sandal trend I'm already wearing with jeans to the handbag trend I've been championing the return of for months, below are the six spring trends L.A. girls like myself are excited about right now. So if you typically find yourself gravitating toward more of a relaxed style, or simply want to see how the other half lives, I'm breaking each trend down for you below. 

'90S-STYLE TANK TOPS

We may not be reinventing the wheel here, but '90s-style racerback tank tops are back in a major way for spring, and I'm 100% on board with it (and so is Kendall Jenner, if that means anything to you). That's right, this once-boring basic is officially high-brow again, and I plan on wearing it with everything from baggy jeans to slip skirts.

FLOSS SANDALS

If there's one shoe trend that's taken the fashion world by storm the past few seasons, it's this strappy style. Coined "floss" sandals by one of our editors a few months back, this style is the 2019 version of the naked shoe. Worn with jeans, skirts, or dresses, this flattering shoe makes your legs look insanely long, and it doesn't get more L.A. than a chic sandal.

TIE-DYE

Love it or hate it, all things tie-dye are trending hard for spring. We're seeing this '70s-era print on everything from bags to shoes to jeans, and I'm all for it. My personal style is not bold enough to go for the rainbow look here, but I've been wearing this yellow Ganni T-shirt on heavy rotation recently, and it's making me feel even more ready for some sunshine. I think L.A. girls will be pairing this print with jeans and sneakers ASAP. 

SHOULDER BAGS

Just like we predicted, the crossbody bag trend is on the decline while shoulder bags are trending upward. Maybe I've seen too much Sex and the City (Carrie Bradshaw was all about the baguette bag), but I actually prefer a shoulder bag as it feels much more secure under my arm than flinging around next to my hips. This season everyone from luxury labels like Prada and Dior to rising brands like By Far and Wandler have iterations of the shoulder bag that I simply cannot wait to wear. 

ECRU DENIM 

What kind of L.A. style roundup would this be without denim? For spring 2019, I'm eyeing cream-colored denim specifically. Blame it on the 50 shades of beige trend, but I want to give my go-to blue jeans and jackets a break in favor of ecru pieces, which I plan on wearing with other pieces of the same color family, naturally. 

WHITE FOOTWEAR

Another footwear trend that's been going strong for a few seasons and doesn't show any signs of slowing down is white styles. From slouchy boots to mules, white footwear is the bold shoe choice that makes even the simplest of outfits feel directional—and for someone who lives in jeans and T-shirts, that's ideal.
