I consider Anine Bing (above) to be one of my greatest sources of style inspiration. I consistently add her posts to my Saved folder on Instagram because her looks are modern yet make sense for day-to-day life. And that's how I'd describe the pieces within her coveted namesake label.

Each collection is filled with trend-forward and versatile items that can easily be weaved into and elevate a wardrobe. The latest summer 2026 drop consists of just that—A+ selects that read cool, in-the-know It girl (aka Anine Bing herself) thanks to directional silhouettes.

Thinking through classic L.A. brands, Anine Bing is one that comes to mind. Founded by Anine and Nicolai Bing, the label mixes Scandinavian minimalism with a distinctly Californian point of view and is known for effortless, lived-in pieces and timeless wardrobe staples. After the couple relocated from Denmark to Southern California in 2012, the line first started out of their Silver Lake garage. Since then, Anine Bing has grown into a global company with storefronts across the U.S., the UK, Europe, Australia, and Asia.

For its latest campaign, the brand cast someone whose personal style feels like a natural match: singer-songwriter Claire Rosinkranz. Known for songs like "Backyard Boy" and "Dancer," Rosinkranz isn't one to chase trends, which aligns with Anine Bing's approach to designing clothes.

I spoke with Rosinkranz about L.A. style, her favorite pair of Anine Bing jeans, and her new album, My Lover, out February 13.

When you think of L.A. style, what comes to mind, and how does that show up in your own personal style?

My version of L.A. feels very different from most people's. I grew up and still live more in Agoura and Malibu. It's canyons and the beach and lots of nature and horseback riding, so I think it's a very different concept of L.A. that I have compared to others. But for me, I think of bathing suits, and I wear my overalls basically every single day. It's very, very casual. I would say California cool.

How would you describe Anine Bing's aesthetic in your own words?

I would say also very comfortable, casual, and effortlessly confident. When I first put on a pair of Anine Bing jeans, they were just the perfect fit. … When you're wearing a perfect-fitting pair of jeans, it can genuinely turn around your entire day. I feel like my mood can heavily depend on how my clothes are being worn. I would also say timeless. It feels very classic and [like] something that can't really ever go out of style.

Is there a particular piece from the brand you find yourself reaching for again and again?

The Hugh Jeans. I absolutely love them, and they just fit perfectly. Also, I have long legs, so it's very hard to find jeans that are just a perfect length. They're straight leg and high waisted.

Denim is obviously timeless, but it's always evolving year to year. For 2026, is there a particular denim trend that feels relevant to you?

I love denim that's very worn in, so I actually try not to wash a lot of my denim so it keeps that or continues that worn-in look. I like horseback riding in my denim for the same purpose. [Overalls are] so comfortable, casual, and they can be really cute. I love tucking them into my boots. That's my favorite thing to do with all denim. And then jean shorts. … They went out in my life for a little bit, but they've been coming back. I will always like to pair denim with boots, though, whether it's my shorts, my overalls, or my jeans.

I'd love to hear more about the campaign shoot.

It was such an easy, fun shoot. I showed up and got all my hair and my makeup done, and everything that they curated that day just worked together. Everything was very down-to-earth. I met Anine, and she's so cool and inspiring. She was telling me that her brand originated in her garage, and now, it's such a big, successful brand, and it's just so cool [and] really inspiring to see somebody have such success in it. I felt so lucky and honored to be the face of this campaign.

How would you style the Hugh Jeans?

They can kind of work any way. I would definitely wear those with boots. Otherwise, flip-flops work, bare feet work, heels work. I think it's super classy with heels, but I have no reason to be wearing heels anywhere.

You also have new music coming out so soon—the Friday before Valentine's Day. What is something you're especially excited about with the new album?

I think that this new wave of music showcases a more mature side of myself. I think I am just at a place where I've been able to articulate things better, or a lot of these concepts better, and I know what I want to write about. I feel like a lot of people have seen the very funky, all-over-the-place, fun Claire and the fun music, and I think that's still something that remains in this project. But I think the side that a lot of people haven't seen is the more articulate and deeper songwriter side of myself. That's a side of me that I feel like has been around for a really long time, so it's something that I'm excited to put forward in this project.

Going along with the concept of timeless—which was a very big word in the process of making this project and, I think, in the process of making projects to come—I want things to feel timeless. I feel like I'm at a point in my life where I can start to know what I want more, so I think I will be able to bring timeless to the table, and I think that will translate a lot into live performances as well. I'm going on tour in April, so not only will you be able to experience this more elevated, mature version of myself musically, but I'm excited to bring that to the stage as well and curate just more of an experience rather than me at 16 years old and jumping around.

You've mentioned that the album was inspired by the idea of a garden. Can you explain what that metaphor means to you?

I explored the imagery of a garden a ton in the midst of making this project. Specifically, I was referring to how a garden is a place of life and death—pruning, picking, watering, wilting, uprooting. It's a place where both life and death can exist together and be very beautiful. I see many areas of my life looking like this. I think each one of these songs represents a piece of the garden, whether it is the wilting and the death, the watering and the life, or the in-between of the pruning and the tending to the garden.

Even through the death of plants comes life. When a plant dies, it has to go back into the ground. It becomes food for the soil and the next life ahead. Many of the experiences and the songs are about more the death or the wilting. I've seen them produce a lot of life in my life on the other end.

A lot of these songs are just about different relationships in my life, and I think all relationships kind of look like this too. They have the pruning, the picking, the watering, and the wilting—all of it. I'm excited for people to explore a lot of the relationships that I got to explore while making this album.

Working with Anine Bing feels very L.A., and I know a lot of the songs on your album were written in New York. Which song feels the most L.A. to you, and why?

The first one that flew to my head is "My Lover," which happens to also be the title of the album. I wrote that one while I was in L.A., and I was looking out the windows at the ocean. It was a very intimate moment. … When I write in L.A., it's very different than writing in New York. I think the environment that I write in really affects how the music comes out. In New York, it's intimate. It's kind of chaotic, and there's a lot going on. But in L.A., when I have space and when there's grass and open air, I just feel like I have space and room to create music. That's how that song feels to me because that's the environment it was written in, and it reminds me of home, which is California.

I pack with a focus on timeless essentials and stick to my standard AB uniform: great denim and a tee. I’ll add a cashmere knit or a coat and some jewelery to elevate it, and of course, pair it with the Anine bag. With the right pieces, you never need much." I’ve always been a city girl. I was born in Kuala Lumpur, grew up in Houston, and upon moving to L.A., lived comfortably east of the 405 for years. But a California hazard they don’t warn you about is that you might meet a cute surfer who eventually lures you all the way west. After some cajoling, I gave in to my inner Pisces, packed up my gray Tabby, and moved us across town to the sun-dappled, salty-aired streets of Venice Beach.

My daily trifecta. It may be the beach, but it ain't cocktails and bikinis everyday. Venice can get downright chilly thanks to miss marine layer often overstaying her welcome. The key is layering: a tank for when the sun comes out, trusty broken-in denim, comfy-enough-to-walk-in cowboy boots (you can take the girl out of Texas), and a great statement coat to cinch the look.

Aka my "running errands" look. I could be on my way to a workout (but am probably just running to the Erehwon hot bar). It's sporty but polished, and if it was good enough for a princess, it's good enough for me!

That all changed when I discovered vintage in high school. Turned on to the "joy of the hunt” by a friend, I became obsessed with the adrenaline rush of discovering one-of-a-kind pieces. My previous grievances against pants were quickly forgotten when I fell for a pair of perfectly worn-in Levi’s. This was holy grail denim: buttery soft, slightly androgynous, and in the most perfect sky blue wash. I was hooked, and my repertoire expanded quickly: frayed cutoffs in lieu of miniskirts, indigo bootcut jeans over slip dresses. My sweaters were set aside in favor of oversized, distressed denim jackets. I’d turned into a true blue-jean baby. 

Denim still factors heavily in my closet. I’m in jeans almost every day. Recently, I crossed over to the dark side. Black jeans create a totally different look, and I was keen to switch things up. Revamping my denim drawer made me feel like I was in high school again, chasing a high through different cuts and washes. The perfect travel day outfit. The high crew neck is cozy and less restrictive than a turtleneck while a wide-leg faded jean is instantly more interesting than leggings or skinny jeans. Sneakers and a cute claw clip will keep you zipping through TSA to pre-board. 

A foolproof everyday look. Layering a colorful cardi will brighten even the grayest day. Straight-leg rigid denim is a subtle homage to the '90s, and patent leather lug soled boots are functional while staying on-trend.

I’m a warm-weather girl. I was born in Southeast Asia, grew up in Texas, and call Los Angeles home. But when Paris beckoned my junior year of college, I answered, bien sur. I never buy anything full-price. Okay, maybe not never, but it’s definitely a rarity since every time I do buy something full-price, it goes on sale. I bought a white cinched-waist dress a few months ago—now it’s 40% off. Cropped Re/Done T-shirt—now 60% off. Frayed jeans—now 15% off. I've spent much of my career trying to pinpoint what makes French style so alluring and covetable. Of course, a lot of what we consider to be French fashion is generalised. Ballet flats, Breton-stripe tops and berets are all instantly associated with that Gallic-girl charm. But I've come to find that the clothes and accessories many French women gravitate towards are more subtle in their connotations.

While it can't be said of all French dressers, there are many who subscribe to a classic aesthetic, wearing never-date items on rotation. I've been analysing these wares for some time and can now confidently proclaim that, to assemble your own stylish French capsule wardrobe, you'll only need nine pieces.

As I said, these pieces aren't necessarily what springs to mind when you think about French fashion. Still, I think that's the secret to achieving that je ne sais quoi of dressing like a true Parisienne—not playing up to sartorial cliches and, instead, relying on everlasting staples that make it easy to look chic at all times. When I think about it, I'm not exactly sure why fall is my favorite season considering the weather barely changes in Southern California. Nevertheless, I still look forward to the season every year, not least because I love all the new cute, cozy clothes that hit the market. In one of the most impressive duos we have seen in a while, Meghan Markle has teamed up with Gloria Steinem to discuss female empowerment and the importance of voting for Makers Women, a media brand dedicated to "accelerating the women's movement." Every now and then, we see a microtrend develop that is so subtle that if you blink, you might miss it. From an elegantly placed hair accessory to a specifically styled belt, here at Who What Wear, it is our job to spot the smaller trends, no matter how niche.

Speaking of "blink and you'll miss it" moments, this fashion week, we've noticed an inordinate number of attendees sporting two-tone colourblocked boots. With a design that often results in shades being split down the middle, this feature can easily be missed unless you view the shoes from a very specific angle.

The trend's popularity can likely be traced back to Dutch accessories label Wandler, who have debuted several pairs of colourblocked boots in various neutral shades. What inspired you to create the collection with Terry O'Neill?

Terry's photography had inspired me long before I even started the brand. I'm such a fan of his work and have a few of his original prints in my home. About a year ago, one of his team reached out to me because they had heard I loved his photography and asked if we could meet up. We looked through his whole archive and decided that this print was the one, as it has always been on my mood board. She looks so cool and effortless, which is everything I want from my brand.

Your collection is based around timeless staples—what are yours?

It's so important to find those good quality pieces that easily go together. If you build up a good basics closet, then it's much easier to get dressed in the morning because you can pull out a few things and you're ready to go. I couldn't live without the perfect white T-shirt, a pair of jeans, a blazer and pumps or a boot. Also, once you have these staples you can then easily layer in more fashiony pieces.

What's the key to finding your personal style?

I discovered my personal style in my mid-20s. I think it's important to experiment until you find the pieces you feel the most comfortable in—whatever is good for you might not be good for me. I look to anything from art and street style to flea markets and travelling for style inspiration.

Which fashion influencers are you following right now?

I'm loving all the Danish girls at the moment—my style is a little more simple than theirs, but they always look amazing. It's interesting, because Danish style is typically more minimal, but lately they're embracing more colour and prints. Scandi influencers such as Emili Sindlev always stand out, because they don't try to be like anyone else.
