That said, the red carpet is only the tip of the iceberg. Celebrities tend to wear more laid-back looks for daytime events scattered around the city. One standout outfit? Alessandra Ambrosio's white jeans.

The very same day that Ambrosio took a stroll around Cannes wearing white flare jeans, Cindy Crawford was photographed over 6000 miles away wearing similar pants. In Beverly Hills, Crawford wore white jeans that were also full-length but featured a baggier and more wide-leg silhouette compared to Ambrosio's choice. I love a good manicure, but I don't love paying for one. I also don't love taking time out of my day to go to the salon every time I want a fresh coat of paint. That's why I'm always on the hunt for new nailcare products and techniques—anything that will help me achieve an at-home manicure without looking, well, like I have an at-home manicure. In other words, I'm trying to strike a balance between affordability and professional-looking results. It hasn't been easy. 

You can imagine my excitement when I caught wind of a nail polish brand that A) allows me to create a long-lasting gel manicure in the comfort of my own home B) is worn by celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Alessandra Ambrosio, and more, and C) is actually affordable. I'm talking $13 a bottle. Whatever you call it, a trifecta or a triple threat, I'm convinced this is it. Keep scrolling to see which brand it is and learn why I (and so many celebs) love it. 

The brand is called PLA, and it sells lash and nail products to professional artists. With more shades than you can possibly imagine, plus high-quality and ultra-pigmented formulas, it's no wonder celebrity nail artists use the brand on their A-list clients. My Experience

I too was "very very excited" about Jenner's red nail color, so that's the one I decided I wanted to wear on my fingers for the next few weeks. Red is such a universally flattering shade, and it can also be moody and striking for fall, so that's the one I felt most drawn to.

Now, I'm not a nail artist, and I only have limited experience working with gel nail polish, so I expected this would prove to be more difficult than my normal mani routine. However, it was actually pretty easy. I started by prepping my nails—trimming and filing my nails and pushing back my cuticles. Then, I applied a thin coat of the brand's base coat and cured it under the UV lamp for 60 seconds. From there, I applied a coat of the color and cured it for another 60 seconds. Finally, I applied the topcoat and cured it once more. 

Next time, I'll follow PLA founder Michelle Nguyen's instructions. "For gel polish, your manicure should last two weeks with a gel base and topcoat," she says. "After about 10 days, your nails might appear less shiny. For application, we recommend applying two layers of base, curing for 60 seconds of each layer. For topcoat, apply one coat after your final cure of gel polish, curing for 60 seconds." 

As for the actual color, Nguyen recommends doing two coats. "For first-coat application, apply as close to the cuticle as possible. When you apply the second coat, leave just a small hair gap from the cuticle, which will help avoid the polish lifting from the nail." 

When it comes time to remove, Nguyen says you can use a nail buffer to remove the topcoat. "Once your topcoat is removed, you can place a cotton ball soaked with acetone to the top of the nail, and wrap with foil. After 15 minutes, the polish will come straight off!"

In my experience, soaking in acetone is the key to keeping the natural nail healthy. Don't peel the gel off or try to remove it by scrubbing your nails with a file; it'll lead to weak, brittle, and peeling nails. Trust me. It's better to follow the pro's instructions and soak them for a full 15 minutes. When I did this, I was able to remove the polish without harming my nails, save for some dryness from the acetone. 

The whole routine is actually quite easy once you get it down. For me, it's the perfect way to get a professional-looking manicure. So, yeah, I think I'll be sticking with it for quite some time.

Bold statement: Leggings aren't always the most comfortable thing you can wear (even if they have a reputation for being so). As someone who works from home, comfort is my ultimate priority during the week, and I'll tell you that more often than not, I go for sweatpants over leggings. And oftentimes, so do celebrities. It only takes a glance at her impressive modeling résumé to see Alessandra Ambrosio knows a thing or two about lingerie and swimwear, so it was only fitting that cult German brand Lascana tapped her to appear in its newest campaign. I recently caught up with Ambrosio in Los Angeles during Lascana's first foray into the U.S., and she was more than willing to spill her best lingerie tips. First up on the docket? Her favorite bra trend right now, and she was quick to call out one style in particular.

"Lascana has these amazing bras that have beautiful lace details. You can wear [your blouse] a little bit open so you can have a peek [at the bra] because it's so beautiful," she told us. "The lace is gorgeous, so that is my favorite."

The night I interviewed her, Ambrosio was also wearing one of her other favorite lingerie trends: velvet corsets. "I love this incredible velvet corset that you can pair with whatever you want, like a skirt, denim pants, leather pants," she said. "Just put on a little jacket on top, and it looks gorgeous, super sexy, and gives you a nice shape."

I also asked Ambrosio about the three bra styles every woman should own. "One of the essentials should always be a neutral, no-show bra—something nice and smooth so you don't see anything under a white T-shirt," Ambrosio told us.

The annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund show was held in Los Angeles yesterday at the Chateau Marmont hotel and hosted by Kate Spade New York’s Deborah Lloyd, Mark Holgate, Lisa Love, and Emma Stone. The event sees 10 emerging designers hand their collections over to the Vogue team to present them to an A-list crowd, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Nicole Richie. Following the presentation, the crowd is treated to an L.A.-style tea party to relax and mingle. J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons told Vogue “I think all of the designers are relaxed because they’ve submitted their clothes and someone else is putting them together.”

Supporting emerging talent in the fashion industry is important—it encourages creativity and brings a breath of fresh air to the American fashion industry. Next month, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist will be announced, and will take home a prize of almost $500,000. Not a bad sum for an emerging designer. Past winners have included Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, and Rodarte, so you can be sure that whoever wins, will become a household name.

Overalls tend to have a polarizing effect and even those who support their wear can find them difficult to pull off. The head-to-toe look is daunting, to say the least, and stepping out in the enveloping denim number can be a considerable commitment. Luckily for us, there are others to blaze that fashion trail before us, so we can take a cue from how they impeccably execute the denim coverall trend.

Most recently, Alessandra Ambrosio gave overalls her supermodel stamp of approval. She wore her lightweight Paige number sans shirt underneath, prolonging those summer vibes for one last sunny stroll. The wide-leg cut and halter neckline of the boho number imbued major '70s vibes.

While the history of overalls reveals the denim dungarees fall in and out of fashion, for now, they're here to stay. Our favorite labels, from J.Crew to Rachel Comey, have all been experimenting with novel iterations that steer clear of bulky buttons, heavy hardware, and excessive pockets. This new wave of overalls favors a streamlined aesthetic, opting for lighter denim (or even chambray) and sleeker silhouettes that are more refined than their rough-and-tumble origins.

If more than one supermodel is wearing it, you know it has to be good. There's a new pant style gaining popularity with celebrities, and you have to see it to believe it—lace-up pants. That's right, we said lace-up pants. Miranda Kerr just stepped out wearing a leather pair during Paris Fashion Week, and now another one of our favorite stylish celebs is trying out the unique style.

Alessandra Ambrosio wore a seriously swoon-worthy denim iteration this past week. These beauties from Made Gold lace up to mid-thigh, but there's a convenient knee cutout for comfort. We're pleasantly surprised how wearable this denim version of the trend feels. It's due in part to Ambrosio's cool and simple styling, which consisted of only a bright bomber jacket, velvet choker, and ankle boots. It's a seriously bold trend, but wearing it like this can totally make it work.

Among the fashion crowd, one T-shirt trend, in particular, has reigned supreme in 2016—graphic tees. Every brand, from fast fashion to designer, is on board and women are snapping them up to wear tucked into their skirts and high-waisted jeans or layered over a dress. But perennially stylish model Alessandra Ambrosio just wore a version of the graphic tee that made us do a double take, and we're thinking it could take off.

Ambrosio wore a graphic tee dress, styled to a T with a denim jacket tied around her waist and sneakers. Her dress of choice is a variation of the Isabel Marant Étoile Dewel tee that was popular among the street style set throughout fashion month. Sifting through Forever 21's extensive offerings for the best goods is tough, which is why seeing their wallet-friendly pieces out in the world always gives us a thrill, especially when they're worn by the likes of stylish celebrities. In this case, the celeb is Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio. Whether they’re just having dinner or are throwing a private party, West Hollywood hot spot The Nice Guy is has been a night-out destination for L.A.’s celebrities since it opened its doors last summer—and we can’t blame them. The upscale Italian food and handcrafted drinks are to die for, and the reservation-only bar and dining room have an intimate, lounge-like atmosphere that’s often accompanied by live music and DJs. From pop stars to Victoria’s Secret angels, everyone is a fan. 

Located on historic shopping street Melrose Place, Alfred Coffee & Kitchen (aka “Alfred”) is as well-known for its people watching and Instagrammability as it is for its coffee and snacks. Whether you stop by in the morning before work or on Sunday while the farmer’s market is going on, you’re sure to spot at least one off-duty celebrity getting their caffeine fix. 

With something for every member of the family, The Brentwood Country Mart is the perfect spot for celebrities with or without their kids. Tucked away in the barn-themed outdoor mall are stores (like Intermix and Jenni Kayne), children’s rides, a candy shop, restaurants, and more. With so much to offer, it’s no wonder Alessandra Ambrosio is a regular visitor.

There’s nothing we love more than kicking back in a pair of sneakers, and it seems celebs agree with us. Not only are the shoes stylish, but they’re also comfortable enough for any street style look or airport outfit—and there are a few key styles we’ve noticed celebs wearing on repeat.
