There is absolutely nothing worse than being out and realizing you’re on the verge of a fashion 911. You know what we’re talking about—that moment when your heels hurt just too much to go on another minute, when you’re wearing black and realize you have a white napkin on your lap that sheds, and so on. This is one of our favorite heel hacks. If you’re hobbling after a long day in stilettos, tape your third and fourth toes (counting from the big toes) together with medical tape. There’s a nerve that splits between these two toes that causes pain from the pressure, and the tape will remove strain from the nerve!
We’ve all been there—alone in our homes getting ready without someone to help us put on those tricky clasped bracelets. It’s hard doing it with one hand, right? Well, the easiest way to avoid the issue is to take a piece of tape and tape down one end of the bracelet to your wrist, which will free your hand from having to hold the bracelet down in place and allow you to use both hands to clasp the bracelet.
If you realize your top isn’t fitting properly, you can fix those problem areas easily with tape. Are your blouse buttons opening awkwardly? Use a small piece of tape to tape down the center so the shirt doesn’t slip. Tape can also be useful if you need to make the hemline of a specific top shorter (perhaps so it doesn’t stick out so much under a blazer). Simply roll up the bottom and use a few pieces of tape underneath to fold up the hem of the shirt.
There’s nothing worse than realizing you’re covered in lint at an event or at a restaurant (perhaps from those pesky white napkins). A quick fix? Fold a piece of tape in half and gently roll the piece of tape on the spots with lint.
If you’re out and realize your hem is starting to unravel, don’t panic. There is a way to avoid it getting worse. All you need to do is take a strip of tape and tape over the unraveled part. This will preserve the hem issue until you get home and can properly fix it.
