Katie Holmes Found the Easiest Fall Shoe Trend to Wear With Jeans

Seeking some early fall outfit inspiration? Katie Holmes is here to provide just that. There's already been a bit of a chill in the air in NYC and Holmes's look certainly reflected that. Holmes paired classic straight-leg jeans and a cardigan with matching bralette by It brand Khaite. To finish the look off, she opted for a classic black shoulder bag and oversize sunglasses, but on to the shoes…

With the change of seasons upon us, we've been reporting on all things pertaining to fall shoe trends, and one, in particular, has emerged as the clear winner: square toes. Yes, this has been a trend all year, but as we approach fall, we're seeing more and more squared-out toes on everything from flats to boots to heels. Since this trend only affects one small part of the shoe, it really is the easiest style to wear with jeans, as you can choose a style that works with the hemline of your jeans.

Holmes certainly got the memo, as she wore the perfect transitional shoe style: non-strappy square-toe mules by Acne Studios. Take note, folks. This is how to keep a sweater and jeans from looking too wintery this time of year. After all, you'll have plenty of time to wear boots in the near future.
