Forbes just released its highly anticipated list of Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses, and a new starlet has secured the spot as the top earner. Any guesses? She starred as Olive, an average high school teenager who turns around her reputation overnight with the help of her school’s gossip grapevine. Most recently, she took on the role of Mia, a struggling actress in Los Angeles (which is clearly no real-life representation) who meets a suave piano player. Together they navigate the turbulent challenges of finding success in the City of Stars. How about now?
If you haven’t figured out who nabbed the top spot on the list just yet, we’re here to tell you. It’s Emma Stone, the quirky, widely beloved redhead (now bleach blonde!) who always makes us laugh when watching her onscreen. Emma Stone took home a $26 million paycheck this year, before taxes, replacing her dear friend Jennifer Lawrence as the top earner. Forbes reports that most of Emma’s $26 million earned was due to her role in La La Land, for which she also won an Academy Award for Best Actress.
According to the magazine, this was Emma’s biggest year in terms of her finances, with her income increasing more than anyone else’s on the list. Now that’s something to celebrate. Congrats, Emma!
