One of the best parts of our job here at Who What Wear is getting to see into the minds of some of the world's foremost tastemakers. Among them? Beloved celebrity stylists and designers Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, are sharing their March obsessions exclusively with us.
Inspired by the omnipresent '70s trend and an ultra-chic road trip to the rustic Ojai, California, the designers have taken note of everything from bell-bottom jeans to layered neutral textiles in the bedroom. Keep scrolling to read more from the duo themselves.
We love a good road trip (or at least the spirit of one), and Ojai has a specific warmth and charm. With a nod to the '70s hippie in all of us and an appreciation of handcrafted goods, here is everything that's inspiring us this month.
Nestled beneath mountains in a charming central California valley, Ojai is not only the perfect weekend escape, but also a source of endless inspiration. From local pottery and weavings to independent store fronts, the artsy, free spirited vibe is contagious.
Ricardo Medina Handmade Botines ($210)
We love cozy weekend style, and we have started collecting handmade mocccasins. They are just as adorable with socks, jeans, and a poncho in the cold as they are with a hippie dress and a hat come spring. Bonus points: These Botines have a wide ankle opening and are very flattering on the leg!
Le Labo Custom Scent ($145)
It's best to feel and smell delicious with an inviting, warm rustic scent . We love a perfume or an oil that evokes both nostalgia and nature, and inevitably is a conversation starter. Whether creating a custom scent at Le Labo or purchasing one of their magical signature scents, you will not be disappointed!
Byredo Gypsy Water ($145)
Another great company that creates unique and special fragrances is Byredo. Our personal favorite is Gypsy Water!
Layering neutral textiles creates a soft and cozy space, whether it's in your bedroom, on your living room couch, or on the outdoor patio! Make sure to mix textures and shades of neutrals.
Overall, New Stone Age is a great spot to find unique gifts and personal treasures. They have a wonderful selection of dainty jewelry, as well as home accessories and endless tchotchkes. It's our go-to spot for hostess gifts!
R + Co. Death Valley Dry Shampoo ($29)
When we think of vacation, we think of tousled beachy hair and this R + Co. spray is a game-changer for all hair types, especially those blessed with fine flat hair!
Céline Pouch in Black and Natural (Price on Request)
Whether to carry it alone or keep it in your purse to help organize, it will definitely be useful! A packing essential.
Seafarer Circe Jeans ($250)
These inspired wide-leg jeans have found a place in a our hearts and our closets for years. There's something about a wide-leg jean with a T-shirt and a flat sandal that feels just the right amount of '70s for warmer months.
Smith's Minted Rose Lip Balm ($7)
A hydrated, neutral lip is the perfect no-makeup look for meandering around a flea market or on a coffee date!
Sensi Studio Fringed Straw Tote ($149)
Not only for the farmers' market, straw totes are natually effortless catchalls. We love this as a bag replacement for spring!
Barton Perreira Dalziel Round Sunglasses with Metal Bar ($510)
