We see big things in store for Elizabeth Olsen. But with growing fame comes a lot more media attention. So it’s a good thing she has some wise role models she can turn to for advice. Her sisters, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, have had their fair share of experiences when it comes to dealing with the press. And in a recent interview with Modern Luxury, Elizabeth shares some words of wisdom she’s learned from them.

The actress, who, according to Modern Luxury, only recently started using Instagram as a means of researching her character for her recent film, Ingrid Goes West, is still learning to deal with life in the spotlight. She shares about her sisters, “They’re very tight-lipped—notoriously so—and I was not caring about what I was saying [in interviews] because I’d assume no one would read it.” And that’s when her sisters stepped in with some insight about the importance of being able to tell your own story.

They’d say, ‘You know, even if you don’t think anyone’s going to read this article, someone might pull the quote later for [something else].’ It’s all part of how you hope someone interprets you, and how they frame who you are and the work you do,” she adds about the advice she learned. That’s definitely some great advice, especially in today’s social-media driven world.
