Without hesitation, if asked what shows we look forward to each year from New York Fashion Week, we would undoubtedly place Spanish label Delpozo’s near the top of the list. The Madrid-based brand, helmed by creative director Josep Font, is always a frontrunner for the strongest collection in New York, and this season is no different.
For S/S 16, Font had two main sources of inspiration: Spanish writer Federico García Lorca’s Gypsy Ballads and Emilie Louise Flöge, the partner of famous painter Gustav Klimt. Font put a modern spin on the flamboyant silhouettes of his muses, and the results are nothing short of dreamy. (And if you’re in the mood to see something particularly gorgeous, head to Vogue to watch the streaming video of the show; this is the first time Delpozo has done bags, so pay close attention to the models’ hands!)
