There’s so much to love about commuting. Spending time outside, getting my daily steps in, listening to podcasts; I could go on and on. However, walking to work every day does has its drawbacks, primarily in the wardrobe department. Not only are sensible shoes an absolute must (I’ve learned this the hard way on more than one occasion) it also helps to keep other things like bags, layers, and accessories in mind. If you’re a commuter and could use a few new ideas for keeping your look stylish and practical, read on for my tips!
It’s inevitable that the temperatures will fluctuate throughout the day, especially at night, so keep a cute scarf around to keep you warm.
Ear buds are fine and all, but why not enlist an over-pair with a little pizazz?
You’re going to need to wear shades most days, we suggest splurging on a nice pair that goes with most of what you own.
We’re not dissing the canvas tote bag, but it really does make all the difference to have a sleek backpack or tote to carry your goods.
Layering is essential when it comes to commuting (especially during spring and fall) so add a classic outerwear piece you can get a lot of mileage out of.
We’re sure you’re already applying your sunscreen (RIGHT?), but you can never be too safe when it comes to protecting your skin—do it with a cute cap.
Instead of tossing on a pair of trainers and changing into pumps at the office, consider wearing flats or sneakers that you can keep on once you get to your desk. You’ll feel much more put together on your commute, and will also be carrying less in your bag.
