When your 16-year-old daughter is busy jet-setting around the world to walk on some of the biggest runways in the fashion world, it's natural to have some concerns. But that's not really the case for Cindy Crawford, whose daughter Kaia Gerber was the standout this fashion month. And in a recent interview with The Associated Press, the supermodel opens up about her decision to let Gerber make her runway debut this season (at such a young age) and shares some of her concerns—though they may not be what you think.
While Crawford does wish that in some ways she could have pushed her daughter's modeling debut off for a few more years, it's the same age the catwalk veteran got her start, adding, "In fashion, that's kind of the normal age when people start." It also helps that Crawford has had a lot of experience in the industry and knows how that part of the world works. "I feel like: Who better to guide them than me?" she shares. And she makes a good point.
But of course, as a mom, Crawford is bound to have some worries about her daughter that are separate from the modeling world—remember, Gerber just turned 16. "My daughter just got her driver's license," she says. "I'm a lot more concerned about her driving by herself than her entering the world of modeling."
