>Since the moment Beauty and the Beast buzz started, everyone was made aware that this live-action remake was not going to be your average Disney princess tale. Emma Watson made that clear with her stance on constrictive clothing, by celebrating her character’s heroism, and later, embarking on a press tour with sustainable fashion items. And it all came full circle yesterday when we also preview the latest fashion capsule by Christopher Kane inspired by the film.
>Of the many (many) brands and designers that have been moved to create their own fashion pieces to commemorate the new movie, Kane’s high-fashion and environmentally friendly collection is one that stands out. The Scottish designer has taken a modern approach to fantasy-like dressing with rich silk handbags, elegant but not staggering heels, and rose-emblazoned tees and sweats, which celebrate a common motif from the story itself.
>Furthermore, the collection was created in collaboration with Eco-Age, a consultancy brand that verifies that products have been created in an environmentally sound way. Not so coincidentally, Eco-Age has also been verifying Watson’s ensembles during her epic BATB press tour.
