After the recent release of Rihanna’s highly anticipated first campaign, Johnny Depp’s men’s fragrance campaign announcement, and Marion Cotillard’s latest campaign, it’s safe to say Dior is on fire. Accordingly, it was with bated breath that we waited for the arrival of the fashion house’s Couture A/W 15 collection. The looks were debuted against a set made of pointillist-painted panels that created a holy house-meets-greenhouse vibe. This season, Simons was all about the sleeve—a missing sleeve, a fur sleeve, a bell sleeve, and a slit sleeve adorned many of the coats and dresses. Another common thread was cropped, embellished shells layered over the house’s signature floral gowns. These notes worked to embody Simons’s vision of a “garden of earthly delights” inspired by Flemish painter Hieronymus Bosch.
