As is the case with any accessory that becomes huge, there's been much debate as of late over the status of the choker trend. For example, Kendall Jenner, an early champion of the style, has moved on from '90s-inspired fabric chokers to more delicate chain iterations, and initial necklaces have begun to creep onto the street style scene.
Another founding member of the choker fan club is accessory queen Olivia Palermo. In case you were wondering where Palermo currently stands on chokers, she just silently cast her vote. Stepping out in a chic black suit and her favorite fancy sneakers to attend the premiere of the film, Personal Shopper, Palermo finished off her look with, you guessed it, a choker. It was made of blue velvet, and it brilliantly popped against her all-black look.
Palermo clearly still loves the look and doesn't care about what people are saying, which is a good rule to follow. Simply put, if you love something, wear it until you don't anymore. Or, if you need a little more guidance than that, it's safe to assume that since Palermo just wore it, it's very much still "in".
