If you're a child of the '80s, you may recall a certain incredibly popular band called Hootie & The Blowfish—and if you don't, then pass us a drink, because that means we '80s babies are officially old. Nowadays, a "hootie" refers to something entirely different: a strange kind of heel-bootie hybrid we started seeing celebrities wear earlier this year.
The shoes typically feature block heels and a higher top than a traditional heel—but not quite high enough to be considered a true ankle boot. Victoria Beckham is obsessed with the shoes, and we even noticed Solange Knowles wearing them to an event in early December. Plus, brands like Céline (who debuted it), Acne Studios, and Lanvin all have their own varieties. We have a feeling that this trend is only getting started.
