You may have noticed that the naked dress is a big thing now—this year's Met Gala red carpet cemented the trend. With Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, and Kim Kardashian all seriously embracing the power of sheer, curve-hugging fabrics, it seems that skin is definitely in.
Well, one designer has a little bone to pick with the skin trend. The iconic Carolina Herrera opened up to The Washington Post about it, airing her grievances over all of Hollywood's It girls showing so much of their bodies on the red carpet.
"[Some designers think] it's so modern to be naked or almost naked," Herrera told them. "They think it's going to attract younger people if they do those dresses. No! The almost naked! Oh God! They're just trying to get people to pay attention to them. In life, there should be a little mystery. [These women are] supposed to be fashion icons, and yet they’re not wearing anything." Touché.
