This morning marked one of the most highly anticipated events of NYFW (and that's saying a lot). Raf Simons finally debuted his first women's collection as the new chief creative officer for Calvin Klein to deafening buzz from the fashion industry. The collection featured vibrant, unexpected color combinations, power suits, innovative uses of plastic (yes, plastic), and, naturally, denim. Simons has undoubtedly put his distinctive stamp on Calvin Klein right out of the gate, and people will be talking about this collection for the foreseeable future.
Anna Wintour, Sarah Jessica Parker, Karlie Kloss, Alexa Chung, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Bosworth, and a bevy of other industry icons dotted the front row, but it was Bosworth who stole the show. She clearly came to represent, choosing a look that was very reminiscent of Calvin Klein poster child of the '90s, Kate Moss. Bosworth wore a pair of high-waisted skinny jeans, a camel coat, and Chelsea boots with a white tee featuring the fashion house's newly redesigned logo, which she brilliantly DIY'd (as confirmed by Eva Chen's Instagram story from the show). Given the immense popularity of logo tees among the fashion crowd right now, we expect Calvin Klein's real version of this minimalistic iteration to quickly sell out upon its release.
