NYC Cool Girls Can't Stop Talking About This Collection

Find yourself constantly style-stalking Brit-girl icons like Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Victoria Beckham, and Alexa Chung on Instagram? We're right there with you, as is New York City–based fashion blogger Natalie Suarez of Natalie Off Duty. We've long noticed that Suarez has an eye for pulling off city-girl style, and luckily she was willing to share how she strikes that fine fashionable balance.

Her secret, she tells us, is relying on style staples from fashion girl–favorite brand River Island. "River Island has something for every type of girl and every type of style," Suarez tells us. "Whenever I'm shopping, I find something I never knew I needed from the brand." Today she's breaking down her favorite new pieces from the collection, and if you love NYC- and Brit-girl fashion, you're going to want to take notes. Keep reading to see and shop looks that will delight your inner Anglophile and inspire you to shop like Suarez.

"Being in NYC certainly has refined my wardrobe," Suarez told us. "I love timeless pieces like blazers, oversize jackets, and trousers." To re-create Suarez's cool city-inspired look, style a shearling-lined moto jacket with gray pinstriped trousers and fun feminine shoes.

Do you have a desert-island item? Suarez does, and it's these shoes. "These metallic brocade River Island mules are stunning, and I love that can wear these both day and night," she told us.

Wear something more masculine-inspired on top with your delicate mule heels. It's chic and looks super effortless.

Looking for a foolproof NYC color palette? Go black and gray with pops of primary colors. Suarez opted for an on-trend patent leather miniskirt and a bell-sleeve sweater, and finished the look off with heeled boots from the Brit-girl–approved brand.

Brit girls are not afraid of standing out. They like messy hair, winged eyeliner, and red lipstick just as much as we do.

Is it just us, or does this outfit remind you of a certain someone? As it turns out, we were correct. "Who doesn't love Alexa Chung?" Suarez asked us when we asked her about her ultimate UK style icon. "She does both super-feminine and super-boyish looks just right." (We agree, and we're pinning this look to re-create ASAP.)
