The Early '00s Trend That’s Making a Comeback

There’s nothing better than free-spirited fashion. Anything that can make you feel like you’re floating through another era is always a welcomed trend. This season, new-boho is making a chic comeback. What is new-boho I hear you ask? It’s all the elements of the old-boho that you loved—lace up flat sandals, roomy hobo bags and outfit transforming jewellery. In a nutshell—bohemian accents that’ll give a classic outfit a fresh spin.

How it is being worn? This time around, it’s more grown up and the rest of the look is simple, chic and put together. Head-to-toe denim, whites or neutral are favoured with the accessories landing as the focal point of the outfit. This pared back styling keeps it keeps it from looking like you’re in dress up.

While we all thought lace up gladiator sandals were left behind in ’05 when Mary-Kate Olsen stopped wearing them, it seems we were wrong. They’re back. And in a big way. After they stormed the runway at Chloe S/S 15, we were hooked. Lucky for us, they’ve hit the high street and we can easily get the look. Phew.

Sienna Miller rarely had a moment without one of these in the early noughties—and rightly so, there’s always space in your closet for an extra roomy carry-all. If you usually carry black, switch it up and go for tan (and vice versa). You’ll be surprised how a fresh handbag colour can transform your entire wardrobe.

It sounds like an assortment of treasures that you’d find at the bottom of an old handbag, but when worn together, this trio of beads, coins and tassels form a pretty and eye-catching combo. Layer them up for an enviable arm candy stack with an unbuttoned shirt—sexy and cool.
