Oscar oh Oscar

I'm relatively superstitious person which means I truly believe in the power of auspicious beginnings. Needless to say, when I arrived at the Oscar de la Renta show only to find myself in line behind Vogue Nippon's Anna Dello Russo"who was wearing what can only be described as an enormous, flamingo pink furry coat"I knew it was going to be a good day. I was right. The Oscar de la Renta show was amazing on so many levels: the location was exquisite (583 Park Avenue, per usual), the attendees were top notch (Rachel Zoe and her darling hubby Rodger Berman sat with ELLE's Robbie Myers, Joe Zee, and Anne Slowey; Jessica Biel arrived with her stylist Estee Stanley; all the top European editors showed, including Carine Roitfeld; Conde Nast heavies were there in droves including Vogue's Anna Wintour and Style.com's Nicole Phelps), and the models were major (Freja opened, followed by Karlie Kloss, Abbey Lee, Natasha Poly, Anja Rubik, Karen Elson, Sasha Pivovarova, Jac, Agyness Deyn"practically every MOD we've ever featured!). Then there were the clothes"oh, the clothes. There were boldly bright coats in electric purple or candy apple red with oversized furry collars in contrasting colors, slim belted frocks in malachite green, and gorgeous dresses that are fit for Hollywood royalty. I can't wait to see what celebrities turn up at an awards show or premiere in the platinum cowl-neck column, the ethereal strapless gowns, and the flirty lace cocktail frock... In short, dear readers, it was like watching the Ghost of Red Carpet Future. In a word? Amazing.
