You may recall back in December when we illustrated the best types of jewelry to wear in the winter. Now that the weather is warming up, there's a whole new set of things to consider when choosing your baubles, the main factor being the heat and humidity (wearing jewelry that sticks to your skin is no one's idea of fun). But not to fret—that doesn't mean you have to step out sans glitz when it's hot out. The best summer jewelry is both cool and lightweight. We recommend five types of jewelry for the warmer months, and given the "extra" fashion world we're living in these days, there are plenty of options on the market for you to wear in the coming months.
Read on to follow our lead and shop the jewelry that won't hinder your comfort (or your look) in the spring and summer.
It's time to step away from the boots and adorn the ankles. A thin chain above the foot is of-the-moment and so light that you won’t even feel it.
While we called for dainty studs in the winter months (to avoid snagging your sweaters and scarves), now is the time to bust out the oversize dangly earrings, as there's nothing standing in their way.
A Bold Ring
As opposed to an assortment of dainty rings, stick to one bold ring (or one on each hand). You'll thank us when the humidity leads to finger swelling.
While it looks cool, an arm full of chunky bracelets will only worsen a sticky skin situation. Instead, opt for thin, delicate bracelets that aren't too tight.
If you're going to wear a necklace, avoid heavy, thick chains and pendants. Try a thin chain with a delicate pendant instead.
