It's no secret that weddings are extremely pricey from top to bottom. But for fashion girls, one expense is arguably the most important: the wedding dress. While some brands offer versions around $200, many women feel like it's worth it to splurge on a fancier frock for their big day.
Need proof? Lyst just released its wedding report for the 2017 season, which factored in searches and sales from over 12,000 of its featured brands, as well as a qualitative survey of 100 brides. The findings: Brides spend an average of $998 on their wedding dress. (Surprisingly, Lyst reports that the figure is actually lower than last year's average of $1334.)
Other interesting data we gleaned from the report? As it turns out, online sales of wedding dresses peak in January. Plus, women are increasingly turning to nontraditional options: Lyst has seen a 30% increase in searches for white jumpsuits since last January. The more you know!
