It’s unsurprising that Australian fashion bloggers have the best summer style. Sure, we’re probably a little biased, but you know we’re not wrong. Nailing your summer wardrobe can be difficult—when the weather is so extreme (as we all know it is in Australia), it’s important to feel comfortable. Sometimes style can go out the window in favour of comfort, but we’re making it our mission for that not to be the case this year. It’s actually easy to look chic, even when the temps are soaring towards the high 30s.
There are a few key dress shapes and styles that are taking over this year—from linen dresses, to ruffle minis, and slip dresses, so you’re bound to find something that works for you. We’ve rounded up five of our favourite summer looks, courtesy of Sara Donaldson, Talisa Sutton, Brooke Testoni, Eleanor Pendleton, and Jasmin Howell. Keep scrolling!
On Donaldson: Christopher Esber Halter Button Down Tunic Dress ($490).
An easy linen midi dress should be on the top of your wishlist this summer. So easy to dress down with sandals, or up with wedges and drop earrings.
On Sutton: Seed Heritage dress.
This mini ruffle dress is strikingly similar to that red dress, giving you the vibe, but still feeling different to what everyone else is wearing. There's a reason this shape is so popular, it's universally flattering with its soft v-neck, asymmetric hem, and waist-tie.
Normally averse to wearing colour? Stop that RN. There's nothing more festive than a bright red dress in the lead up to Christmas. Get on board.
On Testoni: C + M Camilla and Marc Astor Military Dress ($279)
If your style always lends itself to the more masculine side, you can still find a dress that feels like you. Case in point? This mini trench/utility dress that Brooke Testoni is a fan of.
No one can go past a black slip dress for summer. This year, it's become the most versatile piece in our closets.
