There must be something in the water, because Australia is home to some of the most inspiring, successful and stylish fashion bloggers in the world. Coincidence? We think not. Australian style resonates all over the world. It's relatable, relaxed, and effortlessly chic (well, we like to think so anyway).
As we creep towards the end of the year, we're celebrating the year in style. Earlier this week, we looked back at the most unforgettable celebrity style moments of the year, and some of Lara Worthington's most envy-inducing outfits from 2016.
Today, we're remembering our favourite fashion blogger outfits of the year. Everyone from Yan Yan Chan, to Nicole Warne, and Margaret Zhang.
Click through to see who made our list, and the outfits that got them there.
This has definitely been Yan Yan Chan's year. The fashion blogger is everywhere right now, but we still keep coming back to this sheer dress, pink bomber jacket, and white sneakers. The perfect weekend look.
If you haven't already spent hours trawling back through the archives of Nadia Fairfax's site, Fairfax Journal, then do yourself a favour. This outfit, shot at Fashion Week Australia, made us do a double take. Love the elegant neck tie and cat-eye sunglasses.
Natalie Cantell makes street style look easy. Who else can wear a long white dress over jeans and make it look this effortless? The proportion play on this outfit makes it our favourite.
Where do you go for a quick outfit idea? We visit Carmen Hamilton's Instagram page. The blogger behind Chronicles Of Her always tries something different, and we love how she styled this showstopping Gucci dress at Fashion Week Australia with black accessories.
We actually can't keep up with Elle Ferguson, of They All Hate Us, and all her outfits. There are just so many good ones. This all-white plus denim outfit has sat at the top of our Pinterest board all year. Elle reminds us to reach for different accessories, like an arm-candy stack, or printed scarf.
Talisa Sutton of Badlands has our ideal work wardrobe. Every outfit can seamlessly work from boardroom to cocktails (maybe not for every profession, but it works for a creative office). This outfit ticks all the right boxes. It's chic (straight leg jeans), elevated (sharp heels), and functional (sleek sling bag).
Kaitlyn's blog, Modern Legacy, is the site we visit for ideas on how to wear all-black looks. So why did this outfit make the cut? It felt really different for Ham, and we love the way the slinky fabric of this Zimmermann two-piece moves in the shot.
Brooke Testoni has a way of making even the most obvious outfits (jeans and a tee, a pinstripe suit), look anything but boring. Little styling tricks like an undone sleeve (as seen here) are the magic tricks that make all the difference.
Blogger-turned-actress Sarah Ellen has had a huge 2016. Her career is skyrocketing, her blog Perks Of Her is evolving, and her style is growing up. This outfit is dramatic, but still feels easy-to-wear. It's the type of outfit you can't wait to recreate.
Margaret Zhang of Shine By Three is the queen of winter layering. This outfit combines flares, and (multiple) jackets, and it looks so easy.
Typically, Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Girl can be found in a beautiful dress or flowing separates, so when we came across this look—cropped black flares and a sexy silk cami, we were immediately drawn to its unique feel.
Tanja Gacic of My Empirical Life is the type of girl who commands your attention when she walks into a room. Always dressed impeccably, this fashion blogger knows how to throw together a good outfit, but this one, felt like a risk—a risk that certainly paid off. It's bold, different, and once again, made us look twice.
