Ashley Olsen Wore a Cardigan as a Dress (but It's Not What You Think)

Fall is the time of year when we all relish in wearing our coziest clothes. But no one has done comfy dressing quite so well in 2016 as Ashley Olsen. The designer stepped out in New York City today dressed in the ideal look for so-called "sweater weather," a floor-length cardigan. The super-long knit by Maison Margiela toes the line between dress and outerwear—not quite squarely falling into either category.

While we've seen other iterations of the sweaterdress this season, this take on the trend feels decidedly different because it's really just all about comfort. Wear it with flat boots and a quilted jacket à la Ashley and you'll feel ready to conquer fall in the coziest way possible. Or, for a relaxed weekend look, feel free to leave it unbuttoned and wear it over jeans and a tee—easy.
