May Vogue cover girl Taylor Swift has been the talk of the fashion world since news of her feature came out. For her third cover for the American magazine, Swift underwent an edgy transformation while also modeling dresses that celebrate Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane’s work. Swift seems to be embracing her new look—word on the street is that she got to keep those killer Vetements boots from the shoot—but Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour has some thoughts of her own.
In the latest Vogue podcast, host André Leon Talley discusses the singer’s new look with the EIC, who says, “We thought that we could take Taylor—who is a beautiful, beautiful girl but has been a little bit more conservative in her fashion choices—and turn her into an Hedi Slimane rock ’n’ roll girl. She was completely up for it and loved it, and is going to hopefully continue with this look.” When asked if the newly platinum blonde would be wearing an Hedi Slimane–designed gown to the Met Gala next month (Swift is Wintour’s co-chair for this year’s event), Wintour kept mum. Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, check out the looks Swift is rocking in the May issue of Vogue, which hits newsstands on April 26.
