At last night's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala fêting the museum's newest fashion exhibition, China: Through the Looking Glass, Amal Clooney wowed in a red confection designed by John Galliano under his new role as creative director of Maison Margiela. While that might not have been an obvious pairing, the result was perfection, with the tiered dress only adding to Clooney's already very stylish allure.
Well, it appears that there may have been one other mastermind behind the look, if our Instagram stalking is any indication. Spotted in a photo on Margiela's account, Anna Wintour appears present for the final fitting of the dress, leading us to believe that she had something to do with the match made in heaven. Are we surprised? No way. These setups are mere sport for Wintour by now, and going home with the gold is always a given.
