Past: Best known for Fox’s short-lived sitcom Ben and Kate (and being the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson).
Present: Johnson landed the coveted role of Anastasia Steele, opposite Jamie Dornan, in the big screen adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey. (The movie was recently moved to early 2015, but we have a feeling she’ll be blowing up 2014 all the same.)
Past: This star of ABC Family’s Secret Life of the American Teenager scored an Independent Spirit Award win for her portrayal of a sulky teen in the George Clooney starrer The Descendants. 2013 brought about coming of ager The Spectacular Now.
Present: Seems the 22 year old has quite the connection with troubled teens. This year she takes on the dystopian drama Divergent, based on the best-selling YA book of the same name. After that, it’s the love story The Fault in Our Stars, based on another best-selling YA book.
Past: This lovely Brit starred alongside Tom Cruise in the actioner Jack Reacher.
Present: Pike will star opposite Ben Affleck in tackling the psychologically-thrilling roles of Amy and Nick Dunne and in the big screen adaptation of Gone Girl.

Past: Starred in the now cancelled TV shows The Undercovers and Touch, but is perhaps best know for co-starring with Tom Hanks in Larry Crowne.
Present: This gorgeous Brit is set to get major attention for the indie film Belle, in which she stars as the eponymous lead alongside Tom Wilkinson, Emily Watson, and Matthew Goode.

Past: After making her name in the Danish film A Royal Affair, Vikander garnered international attention for her role in the most recent production of Anna Karenina.
Present: 2014 will be a big year for the Scandinavian actress who will star in thriller Seventh Son and sci-fi flick Ex Machina (with Inside Llewyn Davis’s Oscar Isaacs).
Past: The granddaughter of Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola has worked on a handful of films and is quite the indie It Girl.
Present: Her directorial debut Palo Alto, starring Emma Roberts and James Franco—and based on short stories by Franco—hits theaters in 2014.
Past: Best known for her zombie flick Warm Bodies.
Present: Palmer stars in Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups, Kill Me Three Times, and The Ever After, which she co-wrote with new husband Mark Webber.

Past: Too many projects to list, but to us she’s best known as Meryl Streep’s sassy assistant in The Devil Wears Prada.
Present: Pregnant with her first child—with husband John Krasinski—Blunt has quite the year ahead of her: she stars opposite Tom Cruise in sci-fi flick Edge of Tomorrow and in a star-studded ensemble cast of Broadway musical to screen Into the Woods.

Present: Wilde stars in the remake of Endless Love, alongside fellow Brit Alex Pettyfer.
Past: Do we really have to tell you? Ok, she is a pretty big musician.

Present: She starts off the year with the Zac Efron dude-centric romantic comedy That Awkward Moment, then indies A Long Way Down and Knight of Cups, rounded out with actioner Need for Speed.
Past: Became an instant It Girl (and stepped out of the shadow of her famous sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley) after her role in psychological thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene.
Present: She stars in blockbuster remake Godzilla alongside Breaking Bad’s Brian Cranston.

Present: VanCamp will star opposite Chris Evans in Captain American: Winter Soldier, the sequel to the super hero film.
Past: Perhaps best known for Avatar and Star Trek (although we always loved her in Center Stage).
Present: Saldana tackles her first super hero flick opposite Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper (well, his voice) in Guardians of the Galaxy, a film based on the Marvel comic.
Past: Superbad and Easy A’s precocious teen became America’s Sweetheart with her role opposite Ryan Gosling in Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Present: 2014 brings a film triumvirate for the 25 year old with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and films from über-directors Woody Allen and Cameron Crowe.
