Full disclosure: I’m not actually much of a shorts person. But that’s not to say I don’t love a good pair of denim cutoffs when the temperature rises. In fact, my default summer outfit is slouchy, perfectly worn-in shorts paired with a blue button-down and Greek sandals--an easy-chic formula for the season. Since no stylish wardrobe is complete without a couple pairs of denim shorts in the mix, I’ve gathered 10 of my favorite options to help you shop the look now!
Slouchy Boy Fit Shredded Low-Rise Denim Shorts ($187)
Thanks to a slightly longer length and light wash, these shorts are a great throwback to the ‘90s, which is a trend I’m loving right now.
Mid Rise Destroyed Shorts ($195)
These shorts look great on every type of figure, as they’re just slouchy enough and not too short.
Le Cutoff Denim Shorts ($159, 416.861.9111) in Paradis Green
If you’re not a fan of rips and holes, but still want to get that worn-in look, you’ll love these shorts by FRAME Denim. The khaki color plus the cool of the subtly frayed hem equals perfection.
Slouch Cut Off Shorts ($265)
I could live in these denim shorts all summer long; the slouchy fit and distressed detailing give them plenty of cool-girl appeal. And while it may seem like a big investment for a pair of shorts, I can promise they will play part in your off-duty wardrobe until the leaves turn.
Dinky Embroidered-Star Shorts ($241)
Every time I look at these coquettish shorts, I think of the south of France. Style them with a bright red halter top and patent leather sandals for your next barbecue.
Echo Park Shorts ($139)
Of all the printed shorts this season, I have my heart set on Paige’s Echo Park Shorts in White Rose. They’re fun, feminine, and flirtatious--three important “F”s for the season.
Empire Denim Shorts ($139)
Color is never a bad thing, especially when it comes to warm-weather denim. A shot of coral looks great with a crisp white button-down and penny loafers.
Rolled Vintage Inspired Shorts ($98) in Melodie
Every girl needs a pair of cuffed denim shorts in a classic medium wash. They are a bit more polished than your casual cutoff, which means you can easily dress them up or down with a switch of a shoe.
Lola Shorts ($98) in Milk
DL1961's white shorts will take you stylishly through the sunny months. While I would team these with a pair of Ancient Greek Sandals and a Breton-stripe shirt, you can also brighten them up with a neon tank.
Studded Shorts ($108)
I see a touch of the Wild West in this embellished pair, so style them with pieces that subtly nod to the trend, like low-heel ankle boots and a chambray button-down.
