Where You Should Never Buy Zara
You're busy relaxing on your beach vacation when you realize you forgot to pack comfortable sandals. The solution? Pop into Zara. We've all turned to the fast-fashion retailer in our times of crisis. But if you've ever stopped by the shop while traveling abroad, you may have noticed something funny: Not all Zaras are created equal. When you do the math, pieces you've had your eye on at home can come with a totally different price tag across the pond.
So where do you pay more for the same goodies? We took a look at the prices of a few pieces here at home and compared them to prices in four other countries, Spain (where Zara originates), England, Mexico, and Japan. Converting the currencies to the U.S. dollar, we could see how different regions stack up, in terms of pricing.
The results revealed that shopping in Zara's home country was by far the most affordable, while of all the places we surveyed, Japan was most expensive. The U.S. fell somewhere in the middle, making us feel slightly better about our spending habits.
Curious to see how it all broke down? Read on for a peek at the pricing, and then shop some of our favorite pieces available now!
These chic red boots had a price difference of almost $150 between Spain and Japan.
This sleek velvet dress was priciest in the U.S. (it wasn't available in Japan), but it still rung in at an affordable $50 here. We'll take it!
Love this frilly blouse? Its price had a $20 difference between the least and most expensive locations.
