Opening Ceremony Pop Up Bag ($495, available 1st week of September)
Opening Ceremony has ventured into bag territory before though various collaborations, but the retailer has never designed its own main line of stylish carriers-that is, until now! AERIN Beauty Collection Debuts
To say that Aerin Lauder has beauty in her genes would be putting it mildly. She is the granddaughter of cosmetics legend Estee Lauder after all, and has accumulated a whopping 20 years in the business, most recently working as Style and Image Director for the Estee Lauder brand. So naturally, it was only a matter of time before Aerin stepped out and created a line of her own. AERIN is a reflection of Lauder's affinity for effortless and easy beauty and consists of two collections: the permanent Essentials Collection, which includes an assortment of everyday products like the Multi Color for Lips and Cheeks ($42) and the Lip Gloss ($30) in Perfect Nude for Weekday, and the Color Collection, which features seasonal products based on the current trends. To learn more about Lauder and her amazing new line, be sure to R.S.V.P. for our exclusive live video chat on AERIN's Facebook page September 5th.
September is not just a big month for fashion, it happens to be a pretty big month for music too! We're counting down the days until the September 18th release of Kanye West's new album Cruel Summer, and you better believe we already pre-ordered a copy of Coexist from fashion favorite the xx, out September 11th. And let's not forget about No Doubt! If their first single "Settle Down" is any indication of what we can expect from the band's long-awaited comeback album, Push and Shove, out September 25th, then we're in for a real treat. Other noteworthy releases include Mumford and Sons' Babel, out September 24th, and Deadmau5's Album Title Goes Here, out September 25th.
Favorite New Face: Langley Hemingway
It may be a little premature to throw out predictions for the season's hottest new faces, but we're willing to bet anything you'll be hearing the name Langley Hemingway a lot over the next few months. While the 23-year-old comes from a powerhouse lineage (note: she is the great-granddaughter of author Ernest Hemingway, daughter of actress Mariel Hemingway, and younger sis of model Dree Hemingway), the model/artist is definitely paving her own way in the industry. In addition to appearing in editorials for the September and October issues of Jalouse and the October issue of Vogue Japan, Langley will also appear in a holiday cosmetics campaign shot by David Sims, which will be announced at the end of October. And did we mention she's an incredibly talented illustrator too? While she's currently working on an art collaboration expected to exhibit in the coming months, you can see more of her amazing drawings alongside her editorial in this month's Jalouse!
Chloe 60th Anniversary
In celebration of 60 years of inspirational fashion, Chloe is opening its first-ever exhibition dedicated solely to the luxury brand's storied history: Chloe Attitudes. The exhibition, which runs September 28th to November 18th in the newly refurbished galleries of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, features a curated collection of 70 archival pieces and iconic looks from each of Chloe's nine key designers, beginning with its founder Gaby Aghion and extending to its present Creative Director Clare Waight Keller. Never-before-seen illustrations and photographs will live alongside the various garment groupings, providing an additional way for viewers to explore each of the designer's creative processes. But the Paris exhibit is only just the beginning of the momentous 60-year celebration! In spring 2013, Chloe will release a limited-edition collection of iconic pieces from over the years, which will be followed up by a coffee table book in time for the holidays.
