Opening Ceremony S/S 11 Lookbook
We are insanely huge fans of all things Opening Ceremony, but don't think we're biased when we say that the brand's S/S 11 lookbook is ridiculously cool--that's just an indisputable fact. Shot by famed photographer Terry Richardson and of-the-moment model Lindsey Wixson, the lookbook is full of whimsy and charm, not to mention heaps of must-buy looks. Whether you're interested in a combination like the Ladder Marine Blouse ($265) and Lace Leggings ($290) or an ensemble comprised of the Cropped Halter Neck Eyelet Blouse ($290), Outlined Blazer ($760), and Pleated Trousers ($440) in Olive, you'd better check out the lookbook and shop the site fast before everything's gone...
Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara ($19)
We know that the words "clay" and "mascara" don't usually go together--one is heavy and dries to a pale powdery color while the other should be inky and weightless--but in this case, it's a very good thing. The clay works like a conditioner, nourishing your lashes so they grow to their fullest, most lustrous state, plus it delivers lots of dark pigment and volume. Speaking of the latter, it actually boosts your lash volume by 406%, so you get performance galore. Healthy, fat lashes? Now that's always a good thing!
Marc Jacobs Splash Perfume ($68) in Curacao
Normally when we think of Curacao, our minds go to drinks rather than islands and we have visions of Blue Hawaii cocktails. Happily we now have a fresh, wonderful association, thanks to Marc Jacobs' delightful new scent. One of three summer fragrances--the other two are Cranberry and Ginger--Curacao is delightfully tropical and refreshing, thanks to a combination of exotic (white moss, sandalwood) and citrus (blood oranges and mandarins) notes.
Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Ines de la Fressange ($29.95)
When style icon and muse (she was Lagerfeld's go-to model at Chanel for years) Ines de al Fressange writes a book, you'd better pay attention. With sections like "Dress Like A Parisian" and "Belle of the Ball," you might think this handbook sounds haughty, but it has a warm and helpful tone and lots of straightforward, chic suggestions. A mixture of photographs and illustrations, this book is all about the Parisian point of view, which makes it entertaining and interesting. While we can't say we'll wear her suggested first/blind date outfit (a man's plain white shirt, black pants, and unobtrusive shoes is elegant, but not so us), we do adore her tips on where to shop, stay, and eat in Paris, her secrets for a well appointed home, and her wardrobe-styling suggestions!
Lands' End Canvas 1963 Swim Essentials Bandeau Bikini Top ($19.99) and Ruffled Swimsuit Bottom ($24.99) in Green Mist
If you're looking for a festive, of-the-moment swimsuit that's really affordable--and honestly, who isn't?--we'd like to direct your attention to Lands' End Canvas 1963. The bikini that's on our radar is this acid green bandeau/ruffled bottom style, which is super cute, to put it simply. The color is on-trend and will look lovely against a (faux) tan, plus the strapless design is perfect for sunbathing!
Diane Von Furstenberg Harper Triangle Day Bag ($647) in Camel/White
Right now, we're all about small(ish) day bags and '70s-inspired designs, so imagine our delight when we spotted this print flap bag with a ladylike chain strap and oversized tassel at DVF! Though patterned, the bag totally works as a neutral piece and would look amazing with everything from flare jeans to color-block separates!
