For your best buddy, boyfriend, or husband, this month means March Madness, the college basketball tournament that turns every sports lover we know into a bracket-obsessed junkie; for the Irish (and a whole lot of non-Irish), it means an excuse to wear green and drink colored beer; for the sartorially-informed, however, this month ushers in a plethora of exciting fashion collaborations and other worthy obsessions. From the on-trend clothes we can't wait to snag to the photography compilation we eagerly anticipate poring through, check out our picks for March's WWW Hearts!
Pierre Balmain Collection
If you've ever lusted after Balmain's rock 'n' roll clothes-with (sigh) rockstar price tags to match-you and your wallet will love the label's lower-priced diffusion line, Pierre Balmain. The new collection is full of cool, affordable options for the downtown girl; relaxed separates like a Printed Chiffon Dress ($555, 310.360.8008) in Black/White, Printed Silk Shorts ($193) in Black/White, and Solid Blazer ($855, 323.651.3662) in Black still capture the French house's edgy, street-inspired look, but with a slightly more minimalistic vibe.
China Glaze Capital Colours ($7 each) in Agro, Stone Cold, and Foie Gras
Though The Hunger Games isn't released until March 23rd, we've already re-read the entire trilogy and purchased advance tickets! To further stoke the flames of our fervor, China Glaze has released a nail polish collection inspired by the long-anticipated movie. It's hard to choose from 12 such pretty, wearable hues, like Agro (glossy moss green), Stone Cold (shimmery slate), and Foie Gras (dark, creamy taupe), so whichever shade you decide upon, may the odds be ever in your favor!
You may recognize Kati Nescher's gorgeous mug from New York Fashion Week, where she walked in an astounding 24 shows for F/W 12, or from Louis Vuitton's pastel-saturated Spring 12 campaign. The Russian-born, German-raised stunner is undoubtedly the model of the moment, a distinction made even more exceptional since, at 27-years-old, she's nearly a decade older than the rest of her peers. It's safe to say we've got a major girl crush on Nescher, who balances modeling with mothering a 2-year-old son, and whose famous cheekbones and long legs will likely see many more runways.
ALDO RISE x Preen Giffee Printed Heeled Sandals ($155, available in Aldo stores nationwide March 8th)
It's a no-fail equation, really. Mix one affordable shoe brand (Aldo) with a brilliant design duo (Preen's Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi), and you're bound to get results like these fashion-forward heels. We're smitten with Preen Aldo's peep-toe mules; the unique, colorful print is perfect for pairing with all our spring ensembles.
Marni for H&M Collection
If you're enamored with Marni's quirky prints and playful color combos, as we are, you likely already know all about the label's collaboration with H&M. On March 8th, the day the coveted collection hits stores, we'll be first in line to nab the chic, affordable accessories-like the Earrings ($20), Necklace ($40), and 2-Pack Bracelets ($30)-as well as clothes stamped with Marni's trademark eclecticism at H&M prices!
Lillian Bassman: Lingerie ($20)
Nothing captivates our fancy quite like vintage photographs, so this hardcover filled with 80 black-and-white images shot by fashion photog Lillian Bassman is right on the money. It's quite likely that the renowned Bassman ranks as one of your favorite photographer's favorite photographers; her pictures of women in lingerie, supermodels with whom she worked in the '50s and '60s, ooze sensuous and feminine allure. Though she recently passed away at age 94, her legacy lives on in this beautiful page-turner. We couldn't stop flipping through this tome, and neither will you.-Tiffany Tse
