You know that moment, when you first really fall for someone, when they're only thing you think about? When you're so moony about that marvelous person, you find yourself steering conversations in a particular direction, just so you can say your love's name out loud? Sure, it's a bit sickening to those around you, but even the bitterest hearts will melt in the face of such insane amounts of infatuation. Well, crazy as it may sound, we have a crush du jour, but it isn't on a person per se. Instead, our amour is focused on all of the items that make up today's story, WWW Hearts. We're so excited about each noteworthy obsession-from our favorite couple to a fabulous new bag-that we simply have to share our adoration with the world and hope that you'll be smitten with our September picks too!
Street View: The New Nylon Book of Global Style ($25)
Four years after their initial international ode to directional dressers, Street, the wonderful team behind Nylon magazine is back with a fresh batch of stylish civilians. The new book, Street View, focuses on seven of the most fashionable cities-New York, Barcelona, London, Montreal, Stockholm, Tokyo, and Los Angeles-and features snaps of the tastemakers who reside there. In addition to all the quirky, cool, and completely memorable outfits showcased in Street View, our own Liza Kaplan made the pages of the LA section, giving us just one more reason to recommend this must-buy book!
Versus F/W 10 Collection
From the moment we laid eyes on the autumnal offerings from Versus, it was true love. The line-which, after a five-year absence, was relaunched last fall-is designed by the British up-and-comer Christopher Kane (and overseen by Donatella Versace) and it's really stellar this season. Featuring loads of knife-pleat mini skirts and sexy body-con dresses, it's no wonder why people are referring to Versus as Versace's hot little sister. For fall, the cut-out corseting of the Satin and Velvet Dress ($3313) has an early Madonna-gone-luxe look to it, while the Velvet and Pleated Georgette Dress ($2287) and the Satin and Chiffon Pleated Dress ($1895) have more modest bodices and similarly swingy skirts. One thing's for sure: we're smitten kittens!
Gucci Guilty Perfume ($75)
Everything about Gucci's newest fragrance is top drawer, from the Frank Miller-directed commercial to the sinuously curved metal bottle (which practically begs for prime placement in your boudoir). As for the scent itself, well, it's Gucci so you know it's sexy. Technically an oriental floral, our noses detected earthiness, like patchouli, some spicy pepper, and a touch of lilac loveliness. All in all: it's a noteworthy perfume that's definitely one your wrists (and vanity table) need!
Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson
Is there any particular reason we've included the dynamic duo of Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson in today's Hearts? Other than the fact that they are our favorite fashionable couple and we love seeing their cute outfits-not really. What can we say: we're suckers for lovers in love, especially when said pair is particularly well dressed!
C.Z. Falconer Melania Bateau Mini-Dress ($360)
Everyone's seeing red this season-but for once, that's a good thing! The must-have color is making a huge comeback in the accessory world, but we also love it in the form of C.Z. Falconer's body-hugging mini dress. The long sleeve cashmere and Lyrca dress is ridiculously chic and has sex appeal in spades, plus it's the perfect yummy shade of rouge we've ever seen. Of course, that's not the only noteworthy piece in this new luxury loungewear line: Nicole Richie's a fan of C. Z. Falconer's red Gwynn Beanie ($155), as mentioned in her recent Guest Editor story!
Dolce & Gabbana Fall 10 Beauty Look
One of the best parts of the ladylike trend is the way it's been appropriated by the beauty world. Some fashion shows offered us tawny, seventies-influenced, slightly Euro iterations, but there's something so simple and chic about Dolce & Gabbana's interpretation. A smidge of black eyeliner and a sweep of juicy red lipstick and voila: you've got a gorgeous and timeless look in seconds flat. Makeup maestro Pat McGrath used two of Dolce & Gabbana's Classic Cream Lipsticks ($30)-Devil (shown above) and Ultra-with a smidge of Dahlia in the center of the lips for the Dolce & Gabbana show, so if you want the exact runway look, try those lipsticks. That said, if you want something that gives you a similarly bold lip but with less product, try the new Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstain ($7) in Cherry Pop-it's practically perfect!
Yves Saint Laurent Palais Platform Pumps ($720)
The success of YSL's incredible footwear is indisputable: the Tribute Sandals ($760) and Tribtoo Pumps ($880) have been the go-to heels for countless celebs and tastemakers galore for ages. Now the iconic fashion house has a new style that's sure to be just as popular: the Palais Platform Pump. Available in suede or tweed (the former in black, gray, forest green, bright blue (shown), and lemon yellow), and either sleek, as shown, or embellished with a fur mohawk, these gorgeous platforms are well worth the investment.
Ferragamo W Bag ($1650, 212.838.9470)
The newest bag in the Ferragamo family-the W-is decidedly chic and definitely deserves much praise. Launched earlier this month in celebration of Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti's first womenswear collection (which is marvelous, we must say!), the bag is named for the brand's matriarch and Honorary Chairman, Wanda Ferragamo. The saddle brown version shown above is only available at Ferragamo's New York store, so ring them (number's above) if you want to buy this exact shade. Otherwise it's available nationwide in two sizes and in one of three combinations (dark brown leather, dark brown leather with suede details, or dark brown woven leather), so be sure to check out your options before making your final decision!
