Sienna Miller first stole our hearts when she burst onto the international cinema scene with her bohemian-meets-sophisticate style, gamine good looks, and tongue-in-cheek British sensibility, and unlike some of our more ephemeral fashion crushes, our love for the actress has not waned. In fact, through the years, she has only endeared herself to us further as a well-dressed icon with intriguing taste. Though she is not adverse to risk-taking-who can forget the pant-less catsuit she donned for a Factory Girl after party in 2007?-Miller has managed to stay true to her independent and playful sartorial spirit. Whether she is dressed down in gray stovepipe jeans and a striped shirt or styled to the nines in enviable fancy fare from the likes of Matthew Williamson and Marchesa, Miller knows how to get a well-appointed result for any occasion.
This summer, we are sure to be seeing more of Miller as she makes the rounds for her upcoming action flick G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, which will hit theaters this August. Accordingly, for today's What Would She Wear story, we wanted to gather a group of well-edited and Miller-inspired pieces that would fit seamlessly into the vintage-lover's warm-weather wardrobe. Remember that the key to capturing Miller's look is simple: unfussy staples, cutting-edge classics, lots of layering pieces with beading and fringe flourishes, and an insouciant attitude!
1. Twenty8Twelve Doris Rose Print Dress ($248)
An English rose through and through, we can easily imagine Miller rocking this romantic and charming frock. This spaghetti-strapped and voluminous selection pays homage to this summer's blooming floral trend-and also happens to come from Twenty8Twelve, the line launched by Miller and her sister Savannah (who cut her teeth designing at Alexander McQueen.) We love this petal-printed piece, and would wear it all summer long with a denim vest or jacket.
2. Circa 78 Knot Necklace ($48)
While Miller is often spotted wearing authentic and eye-catching ethnic jewelry, we think she would be mad about this Knot Necklace. Circa 78's dramatic piece would add texture and a pop of color to a basic blouse, and would look perfect layered under a scarf or as an accent to any simple-and-chic summer ensemble.
3. Comptoir des Cotonniers Dingo Tan Leather Boots ($285, 212.274.0830)
While Miller often opts for flat footwear, she always picks a pair with eye-catching embellishments, such as metal chains or fringe detailing, like her covetable Isabel Marant choice (above) or her beloved Minnetonka moccasins. These cropped leather boots would look smashing with tucked-in skinny trousers, or worn with a Liberty-print dress to trawl London's Portobello Market for vintage treasures.
4. Aldo Dilox Bag ($120)
This soft suede satchel from Aldo positively screams Miller! The embroidered fringed front flap and cross-body strap is the ideal carryall to accompany the globetrotting actress on her promotional G.I. Joe world tour.
5. Maje Gill Suede Biker Jacket
As evidenced by the cropped leather coat Miller has been spotted in recently, the actress clearly gravitates towards classic styles with an edge and loves luxurious materials. The shocking red hue of this reasonably priced suede biker jacket will add a swath of bright color and instant interest to any outfit, not to mention the perfect amount of coverage for a summer night on the town!
6. Topshop Crackle Frame Sunglasses ($23)
Though Miller is a devotee of the ever-popular Ray-Ban Wayfarers, we think she would look quite lovely in these cat-eye frames from Topshop. The style has been spotted on a bevy of stylish-young-things, and we are sure Miller would be partial to the dramatic and retro effect of these shades.
