As InStyle initially pointed out from Fortune, this 1,111-carat diamond was discovered in Botswana by Canadian mining company Lucara. "The significance of the recovery of a gem quality stone larger than 1,000 carats, the largest for more than a century and the continued recovery of high quality stones... cannot be overstated," said Lucara CEO William Lamb. So insane!

How much does something like this cost? Well, as InStyle mentioned, it's hard to say. But a 341.9-carat diamond was sold for 20.6 million last July. And this is much, much larger.
