This past week, a legion of the industry's most respected movie makers and actors made their yearly pilgrimage to Salt Lake City for the 25th Annual Sundance Film Festival. The event's location allows actresses to showcase their best snowy chic attire, so naturally we rounded up a few of the most fashionable ladies and investigated their outfit information. Considering the success of our Sundance coverage last year, we suspect you'll enjoy this special edition of What Was She Wearing: Answers!
For a second year in a row, Miss Kravitz's cold-weather cuteness earned our readers' attention. We spotted the actress, who attended the festival to support her film, The Greatness, sporting a cream vintage coat, brown leggings, a Pendleton bag, and Whyred lace-up wedge booties. Sadly, Kravitz's boots and bag are no longer available, but we suggest substituting them with Pendelton's Chinle Drifter ($215) or ASOS' Aztec Across Body Bag ($30), and Tommy Hilfiger's Zaria Booties ($120). As an alternative for Kravitz's retro jacket, we must refer you to eBay! On a non-clothing note, we also quite adore Kravitz' new and super-stylish bangs!
Of all the young actresses out there, we've always got our eyes on the darling Emma Roberts. The up-and-coming stylesetter gave us lots of wintry-warm inspiration; just take her above ensemble-which consisted of a North Face Antoinette Jacket ($250), Kain Long Sleeve Pocket Tee ($88), and J Brand Skinny Jeans ($209)-for example. While the foundation of her outfit is ideal, we are even more intrigued by each of Robert's thoughtfully-chosen accessories, including a pair of Stuart Weitzman's Over The Knee Flat Boots ($535), Juicy Couture Cashmere Bow and Ruffles Scarf ($175, 310.550.0736), and Celine's Blossom Pocket Small Bag ($1950, 212.486.9700). Try Robert's look for less by swapping out her boots and bag for Pour la Victoire's Malorie Boots ($350) and ASOS' Leather Buckle Detail Tote ($122).
At WhoWhatWear.com, we're always looking to fresh sources for style inspiration and found that in Olivia Thilrby's SLC wardrobe. The esteemed young actress displayed some on-point attire that ensnared your interest (and ours!). Thirlby perfectly demonstrated how to construct a winning and affordable ensemble by mixing American Apparel's Tri-Blend Racerback Tank ($21), with a retro scarf and vintage pointy brown booties. BDG's Slouch Pocket PE Cardigan ($48), Love Quotes' Hand Knotted Fringe Scarf ($88), and Pelle Moda's Kipp Shoes ($170) are perfect for emulating the look!
We do believe we have saved the best for last today, dear readers, as Zooey Deschanel's Sundance wardrobe is undoubtedly flawless. Our bright-eyed muse stayed warm in Lover's Disciple Mini Dress ($363, available at Revolve Clothing in February), Karen Walker's Cobalt Emilie Coat ($914), and Loeffler Randall's Agatha Flats. Since her shoes are from F/W 08, they are no longer available, but we like Pour La Victoire's Royal Ballet Flats ($100) as alternatives! We're also taken with Deschanel's accessories, which include Hansel from Basel's Cable Knit Pom Pom Socks ($36) and J Crew's Toscana Earmuffs (sold out, try American Apparel's Unisex Earmuffs). For a less expensive, yet equally charming take on Deschanel's outerwear, exchange her jacket for Christopher Deane's Blue Morgan Coat ($445).-Jessica Amento
